Got 20 piece broasted chicken dinner to go. They were very fast, and we were in and out in less than 7 minutes. The broasted chicken was very good. I usually find fried/broasted chicken tends to be very salty, to the point of excess, but this one was not too salty, nor too bland.
On the other hand, the fries that came with the dinner were very soggy and not salty at all. They didn't taste bad per se, but I would have preferred them more crispy.
Going back to the chicken, I believe it was a great value for money; the bucket came with drums, thighs, wings, full legs, and even breast/rib pieces, meaning each piece is actually decently big.
Also in the dinner were buns and coleslaw. I didn't have the buns, but I did have the coleslaw; it was fairly good but had a strange hint of some mysterious- almost soapy- taste. Not a big deal.
All-in-all, I probably will get it again sometime, because the chicken is good, and so is the value.

(I didn't rate the atmosphere because I did not go inside the building.)

Went for fish fry. Hostess not very friendly but server was great. Place was crowded with early birders (we fit in). Two of us ordered the family style fish fry and one had the fish/chicken combo. Chicken was good, typical broasted. Fries on both were cold, not very tasty that way (I probably would have liked them hot). But the fish .. a little greasy and just pieces and chunks - no filets. And there was so much batter on each piece it was still wet and when you saw fish, it was grayish & soft, almost mushy instead of white or flakey. Maybe the perch or walleye was better but I wouldn't get this again

Ordered first time Award Winning Fish Fry which is an understatement. 5 small nugget-size fish, no German mashed potatoes received (when waiter Luke did a sales pitch on what would come out but didn't), juice cup was significantly smaller than coke cup, and rye bread was too salty and fries were not fresh but big portion.

The creamy chicken spinach artichoke soup was to die for! We also had broasted chicken and the prime rib sandwich which was also fantastic! Service here was great, extremely fast with the food and great staff, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. For being out of towners we are so glad we took a chance on this spot, we will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to our friends/family :)

The wife and I stopped in today for a "let's try somewhere new" adventure. Our waitress was very pleasant and did a good job. She is the only reason service gets a 5 star.

Food: I ordered the ruben with German potato salad and beef nachos. The ruben was pretty good 6/10 because 40% of it was fat. The flavor was there but it was like slogging through a booger texture wise. The beef nachos gave me flash backs to making my own "nachos" in the cafeteria. Not even nacho cheese on it but some plastic bagged cheese that had been microwaved. Every bit of it was stale, at first I thought I was brought a plastic display. The German potato salad salad was similar to half boiled sliced potatoes drenched in maple syrup. Now my wife had the chicken alfredo to which she said "the bread was okay". Each bite she tried was drenched in oil. We hard passed on deserts, paid and left. Whoever was in the kitchen today needs to change careers.

Now for the place in general. The bar and eating area look nice and clean. The mens bathroom had a utility cabinet in it with various odds and ends all over. Could be bad timing but there was urine from pretty much the stall door to the back wall. The icing on my cake was the older gentleman there (not seen at the bar or dining room) flicking his tally wacker all over and leaving without even a thought to wash his hands.

If the owner sees this and cares, we dined around 4pm on today's date. You had maintenence working near the back of the dining room.

Omg I've been craving a fish fry since Milwaukee Area and no one can rough Ron's! Fast. Hot. On Pointe. Nothing missed. Not a cozy environment. Not allowed to eat at the bar. Could tell they didn't have enough servers because our server even though extremely nice didn't come to our table to ask if we needed anything had to wait for service. Even though we were seated first 4 tables were waited on and served before us could tell they were regulars so they got special treatment bar staff was not at all friendly. Some fish was good some extremely greasy. Potatoe pancakes were not good at all. Felt totally out of place there even though we are just a normal couple it was like we were treated differently. Tried it once but won't go back.

Of all the places I have had fish fry, Ron’s has THE BEST I have ever had. Their potato pancakes are the bomb.com as well. Pricing is more than reasonable, I got the Friday fish and chicken- all of it was absolutely spectacular. Plan to wait maybe 30-60 mins on a Friday for a table… but so worth the wait. I can’t recommend their fish fry enough.
Atmosphere is wonderful, service was speedy and friendly. This is one of our favorite places by far! Try it- you won’t regret it!

The wait time at 500pm was a half an hour, seated at 35 minutes awesome ] Waitress came to table asked us if we wanted drinks we already had them said we were both doing fish, she returned to the table with plates and slaw, potato, never said anything , was talking to someone else, left. took order from table next to us, chatted up the two guys there ,came back with their stuff chatted some more. We waited almost a half an hour for the food understandable the place was packed. When food came out she served the two guys before us. We spoke to Rachel, (AWESOME PERSON) she immediately went to kitchen and brought our food. apologized for the server , came back to make sure all was good. My wife left a tip (I would not have) T.I.P.S. to insure prompt service , not just for dong your job.

The fish fry is very good. Apparently, our server Courtney knew what I wanted to eat without asking specifics. I odered the fish fry, she said ok and walked away. She didn't ask baked or fried. Didn't ask fries or potato pancakes. She brought battered fish, not the baked I would have ordered. So we thought maybe baked wasn't an option? No, it is. She just didn't offer it. We had to ask for lemon. Then, we were able to flag her down and ask for the pancakes. "Oh, you want those too?" No, actually, I never wanted fries, but you didn't offer any choices. The pancakes came. Now I need to flag her down for applesauce. She never offered applesauce or syrup. Just plopped the pancakes down and walked away. The food is awesome. We don't even mind the wait. But the service we received? Subpar.

Today was the first time we have ever visited and I am glad we did. We were greeted by the lovely Rae. She was pleasant, attentive, with a nice smile. Visited Ron's in Oconomowoc on the reccomendation of a relative who raved about their fish fry. Our experience wasn't as good, but there were definitely a ton of people in the restaurant who must enjoy the restaurant.
We ordered a Friday luch special fish fry and a chiken and fish dinner for our visit. The rye bread was very good, the kind with a little salt on the crust which is nice. The cole slaw was a nice sized portion and just ok flavor, not much going on there in terms of flavor.
The ketchup and tartar sauce were in squeeze bottles on the table. Both were very greasy and dirty, i had to clean my hands after touching them. All of the on table items appeared dirty, sticky, and greasy. The tartar sauce had a Miracle Whip taste to it. I prefer tartar made from mayo so i wasn't a fan.
We received our entrees and found the fish and chicken both to be very greasy and heavy. Fish had too much batter and seemed to have sucked up a lot of the frying oil. The chicken was more of the same, heavy with grease. We were disappointed and felt that Ron's wasn't for us, but it may be good for you as everyone's tastes are different.

We just visited this week from out of town and had to get our favorite fish fry since a good fish fry is nonexistent in Arizona. Nothing has changed! They still have amazing fish, and one thing I absolutely love and you can rarely get anywhere else is their warm German potato salad as a side!
