The owner, Rose, is such a fun, welcoming lady. Lupe, the chef feels like a friend now. The food is terrific, at a very reasonable price. Plus, it's not just dinner, but an experience. Bar service isn't fast. It's a small staff and they are all busy. But the drinks are good when served. One of my favorite restaurants!

Couple here, went for dinner. Service was excellent. Started off with a light broth soup, then a salad, then our vegetables and in our case, shrimp and tenderloin (others had the salmon and walleye and raved about that too). Finished with dessert. The food was fresh, tender, well proportioned, and well seasoned but not overly so. The chef was entertaining. The atmosphere is not over the top but you are in Marshfield, remember. For a special occasion or just a really filling excellent meal, stop on by, It was pretty full even for a Tuesday night.

I swear they always serve mushroom soup as they're only soup of the day. You can never go wrong with the steak or chicken. Cost is decent

They used to be my favorite place to go when I was in town. The older lady is so rude. Went there over the weekend. She barely took our drink order and was asking for our food order. Didn't even have time to look at the menu. She forgot out the appetizer I ordered. Finally brought it out after our main meal was plated. The other guests at our table had the same issue and asked twice for their appetizer. Fried rice had no flavor. The food in general was ok but not nearly as good as it used to be. I will only go to Wasabi in Schofield now. Way better food and service.

There’s only one cook left, so it’s a rushed experience and the food isn’t as good as it was a few years ago, but it’s still high quality and a great experience.

My only problem is one of the servers, Rose, is VERY rude and doesn’t hide her distain for the customers. Due to being short staffed, our family was rushed in earlier than our reservation by her several calls, and she visibly and vocally acted annoyed when I asked if they had Rosé instead of just white or red wine. Our family would have been very understanding about coming in early if it was explained, but her rude and demanding attitude takes away from the experience the rest of the staff provides (they’re all amazing!). One of the younger staff members looked extremely uncomfortable around her and after accidentally spilling a drink on a table with no one on it, our family continually encouraged her it was fine and tried making light of the situation because Rose looked extremely angry at such a simple mistake. I recommend talking with her about her customer service so it can make the staff and customers more excited about such a lovely dinner experience.

I went to Royal Tokoyo tonight and was not impressed. The waitress spilled an entire glass of water over me, and I was completely soaked. I sat there for 2 hours through the entire meal wet and embarrassed. When it came to the bill, they charged me full price. So rightfully, I asked for an adjustment and only took OFF 3$ for my soda. NOT HAPPY!!!

The prices they have posted online do not match what they have on their menus. We ordered carry out sushi under the impression it would be under $30 for four rolls, and they gave me a bill charging 8 to $10 a roll after tax, instead of $5/roll as shown on Google, and they have no dedicated website with a menu. Food is pretty good, but it gets very loud and noisy when they sing birthday songs, and in such a small room it really hurts my ears

The good:
the soup which is the first course is really amazing. It left me wanting more.
The hibachi attendant was kind, funny and seemed to enjoy his work
The server was friendly
My steak was cooked perfectly

The not so great:
Soy sauce. You better really love Soy sauce because they drown everything in it. The amount of sodium we consumed was astronomical.

When we arrived there was a woman who appeared to imbibe a bit excessively. She and the owner seemed to be in an argument.

Overall I don't think I'd return unless it was just for the soup. 4 people from our party ended up with stomach aches from all the sodium. Soy sauce is a condiment, not a food group. Tone it down a little

Used to love this place! Used to come here all the time. Over the last couple years though it has really went downhill. Still excellent food and the chefs are always awesome, but the owner is awful. She is extremely rude and will most of the time just ignore you or shrug you off. Really kills the mood. Good luck getting a drink at the bar, shell laugh at you if you order anything but a beer. It really sucks because this has always been our favorite place.

We used to love this place but last night was horrible. There was so much tension and anger between the owner and the chef. They were literally arguing in front of us. The food was great but the chef purposely took his time and cook each of our meals separately instead of together. He even forgot someone's steak and they asked to have it removed from their bill and the owner didn't want to at first. 2 1/2 hours later we were finally done and it wasn't even busy. It was not a fun experience.

Worst restaurant ever! In December, I received a door dash order from them! I ordered fried rice, beef, and shrimp hibachi. The rice was cold to the core, it literally still had ice chunks in it, and it tasted horrible even when microwaved. The shrimp smelled spoiled and it didn't even look grilled it was heated in the microwave and thrown in the bowl. The beef was not seasoned and it was cooked horribly as well and tasted like cardboard. I got this order through door dash and I ordered the meal an hour and a half before closing! If they knew they did not want to fulfill my order they could have just canceled it and I wouldn't have minded! I tried calling before they closed nobody answered, I called three times. Luckily, Doordash was kind enough to give me a full refund, but I promise yall you can get better food elsewhere. *I Recommend Akamae

Wow, this place is awesome! Made a reservation for a 12 and they were very accommodating. Quick service and very attentive to our needs. Have the white peach sake, it's great! The rex sole was the big hit in our group. Definitely try it you will not be disappointed, so good the way they make it. Definitely would go here again.

My partner and I chose this place because of the shining reviews, but we probably should have looked harder. The two of us ordered 2 unagi rolls, shared a fried rice and an order of the soup of the day. The rolls were extremely small, not well rolled, and just generally mediocre, the fried rice was actually really good, and one order was enough for 2 people... Although the price for it was steep, and neither of us enjoyed the soup, despite both of us loving japanese food. Overall nothing was particularly bad but nothing was worth the prices.

This was my first time going to this place and I loved it so much! So, if you want to watch the cooking in front of you, make reservations. I did not know this so my boyfriend and I just showed up. The hostess was very accommodating for our first time and we ended up sitting at the bar, which we didn't mind. She talked us through the menu and gave us recommendations even. We got their dinner special which is basically a 5 course meal and one of their many options for sake. It's a reasonable price and you get lots of food. Everything was so delicious! Even the food I was nervous for trying because it was my first time was so amazing. The workers are all kind and it's a very friendly environment. It's a great place for birthdays and kids and honestly can't wait to go back and try more!

Royal Tokyo has always been one of my top restaurants in the Marshfield area. The experience is entertaining, the food is so good and the staff is all pleasant. I always get the combo and you get 2 meals out of it easy. My absolute favorite thing at this place, however, is the sauce they put on their rice! I always get a container of it when I'm in the area. Smallest hibachi/teppanyaki establishment I have visited, but they were very accommodating. The staff were very friendly and the prices were reasonable. Some different tastes than I was used to from dining elsewhere, but not necessarily bad. I did miss a fried-rice option and the dipping sauces found with most others, but that did not ruin the meal by any means. Location is a converted train station/depot and added a bit to the fun.

I orderd take out tonight. The order was wrong, I called to tell them... I was hung up on TWICE!!!! By the owner!!. I heard her say just hang up!!! On the third call the nice hostess acknowledged im sorry, mabey we were mistaken. That is all I wanted!!! I work in this buisness, if I were to hang up on a wronged customer i would fire myself! Terrible! The rice wasnt cooked all the way...there was only one cook cooking for 3 tables. They need more staff felt bad for the chef having to do it all on his own. The steak was over salted very fatty and not the greatest. Our shrimp was cold and just the timing of when we got our food wasnt right. I do not recommend to anyone!

I was here on 03/10/21. There was a waiter (not sure what her name was) but she had a low bun in her hair and was wearing all black. She was a great waitress! I just had to leave a review. If you're a doordasher avoid this places offers like covid! The lady literally said to me "We don't answer our phones" this guy ordered $200 worth of food one was Steak tartare. After I had to read the list of items he ordered to her she told me it would take 12 hours to make his food...I said screw this told the guy; he was mad at the restaurant and I now blacklist this place. This is the second time in a row now that I have had horrible service from Royal Tokyo. This time I was hung up on while trying to put in a simple to-go order,. While trying to call back my call went to voicemail three times over a 15 minute time frame.

It's sad because the last time I dined in their food was good. The items on their menu are not necessarily unique so service and the "show" that comes along with the dining experience is very important. In an industry where service is key they have failed on multiple occasions now and have lost a once loyal patron.
