We made reservations for Sunday dinner as it was close to the Stephanie Weill Center, where we had tickets for an evening show. The gentleman on the phone told us that it would be difficult for us to make reservations as it was a show night, but they would try to squeeze us in. We thanked him and left our phone number and our reservation was noted. We arrived on Sunday at 4:45 for dinner along with seven other people and the entire restaurant was closed. There was not a light on anywhere. There was no sign on the door and we never received a call to let us know that our reservation was canceled. We had to hurry and find another place to eat before our showtime.

Sept 21 2025. Had reservations for 10 people at 4:30. Arrived at 4 for cocktails. Restaurant never opened. Another couple who were waiting said the same thing happened to them before. Met other friends who had reservations for 12 ended up going somewhere else. No signs up, no phone calls. That is a very irresponsible way to run a business. Will not be going back or recommending this restaurant to anyone. A big thank you to Umi sushi and hibachi to get us in right away.

Our reservation was for 7:15, we arrived at 7. We checked in with the host and sat at the bar to wait for our table. The bartender, Jay was great. Made awesome drinks, couldn't have asked for better. As I looked around, I noticed the dining area wasn't busy and many tables were empty. Its 7:15 and our host hasn't come to seat us. No problem, as we finished our drinks, and ordered another, it was now 7:30 and again, hostess is sitting at her post. When I mentioned to my husband the time, he went to ask the hostess about seating. We received our 2nd drink and told Jay we needed to close out. As we were waiting, the hostess came to up to seat us. My husband told her we were waiting ro closeout, but I could be seated. She turned around and went back to her post and as I looked at my husband wondering why she returned to her post rather than seating me, he went back to the hostess to tell her, ahe could seat me. As she did so and I thanked her, she plopped the menu on the table and without even looking at me and giving an expected smile, keeps walking and says you're welcome unenthusiastic. Hostess was our first indication that this wasn't going ro be a good experience. Our waitress, Kristina, came to the table and asked me if I wanted a drink, I told her we already had drinks and my husband was closing our tab out at the bar. Once my husband arrived at the table, we looked over the menu, he ordered the trio which is 2 PC shrimp 2 scallops, and 4 oz lobster. I wanted the South African lobster tail. Kristina apologized and said they were out of lobster but had a "big lobster left" what that meant, no clue. So we asked since they didn't have the 4 oz for the trio, could we have additional shrimp on the order, she said no problem. I ordered the "big lobster" with baked potato. Fast forward, she came back and apologized that they ran out of shrimp, so now on the Trio that my husband ordered, the only thing left were the scallops. So even to our disbelief that they were out of so many items we said it was OK just make it all scallops and we're thinking around 8-10 pieces to make up for the shrimp & lobster. We got our French Onion soup, which was DELICIOUS, and enjoyed the salad bar. We finished up and then waited for our entree, and waited, and waited. Finally, our food arrives, to our astonishment there were 5 pieces of scallops on his plate, so 3 extra to replace the 2 shrimp they were out and 1 for the missing lobster!!! Not acceptable. As she set my plate down, she says, sorry, we are out of baked potato and so they took it upon themselves to make the decision for me and gave me mashed potatoes. Whatever. She walked away, I noticed a person clearing a table near us and I asked to see the menu. The trio was $38 and the Scallop dish was $41. The African Lobster was $70, but they didn't have that, the big lobster, was a really big piece, was $72.50 but I wasn't told that. After having waited for an unacceptable amount of time for our entree and the amount of items they were out, we decided to ask for boxes as we were done. Hadn't even ate any, boxed it up and as we were handed the check, I noticed we were charged for the Scallop dinner rather than the Trio. I questioned Kristina and she said because they were out of the shrimp and lobster, they just substituted the scallops. I said, yes, substituted the shrimp and lobster with extra scallops not change my husband's entire meal and then charge us more for it. The owner came to our table and I voiced my displeasure. Now, one would think, with all the inconveniences we endured, the OWNER would have taken off more than the $3 difference from the Trio to the Scallop entree, NO. No he didn't, I couldn't believe it. For all the inconvenience that was it. We will NEVER be back. As we exited Rupps, two ladies were walking towards us and asked how it was, I replied, "Very disappointing". Think twice before going.

A disappointing supper club experience. We had gone wanting a good steak dinner only to find out there was no steak on the menu?? Went with the tenderloin steak sandwich which was the THINNEST steak I've ever had. I'm going to guess our waitress was new, she was fabulous with service but didn't have very good knowledge of the menu. 🫀

What has happened to Rupps is what every Sheboyganite feared. For the positive: salad bar is included with the dinners and they didn’t mess up the French onion soup. On the other hand, everything else is worse, which is impressive considering they significantly pared down the menu.

The food: The rolls were both so overcooked and cold that they were inedibly hard. Out of two steaks ordered medium, one steak was medium, one was well-done. The steak we ordered medium rare was the worst of all: it was well done and completely blackened on top. We had to send it back uneaten. The mashed potatoes were also fairly flavorless and the fries which once were one of the things Rupps did so well were nowhere near as good as they used to be. Another diner ordered broiled shrimp which was notably not hot. Finally, when one of our drinks was made incorrectly, instead of remaking the drink, the bartender sent our waitress back with a glass of club soda for me to remake my drink at the table myself.

I can understand growing pains making the service slower than usual but for a comparatively empty restaurant each step of service took 15 minutes or more and it’s clear our food was sitting for a good portion of that based on its tepid arrival at the table. I would be hard pressed to be convinced to go back. Save your money and go to Texas Roadhouse where you won’t be disappointed for the price.

I was there when you complained about your dinner and you were very rude to management! You accused the chefs of giving you the wrong meal, which you did get the 20oz prime rib. You used a forceful attitude and management asked you to kindly take a seat.

This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I’ve always said that the people of this town were very unpleasant and rude…this was no exception. We ordered food and it took us almost an hour to get it while others who sat down got their food before us. Drinks, soups and salads came late as well. I approached the management expressing my concern and they kept making excuses instead of owning up to their mistakes. When my food finally arrived I got the wrong item. I got what appeared to be a 16 oz steak instead of 20. My wife suggested that I go ask and see if this was the correct cut of meat. So I did, I got up and kindly asked management if it was a 16 oz cut or a 20. So instead of taking it back to go find out, the manager did the most egregious thing..she said β€œ what you need to do is calm down because you’re scaring some of the waitstaff!!”
I was completely shocked and rightfully appalled by this action. I immediately turned around, took my food back to to my seat, left it on the table and moments later walked out. A place that was supposed to be proud and popular for their food atmosphere was literally the stereotype I gave Sheboygan in the first place and it held true in my own regard. Then when my folks when to complain to the owner the manager quickly played it off like nothing ever happened. Nobody deserves this kind of treatment and I will never be coming back to this atrocity!!!!!!

Just had dinner under the new ownership. Excellent!
Got there at 4:50pm and were able to get a table at 5:15. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. Had a couple of cocktails at the bar before being seated. The chocolate old fashioned caught our eye so gave it a try. Went down smooth as silk. I’m not much of a drinker but I would definitely recommend.
We ordered the regular prime rib special and a queen tenderloin. Salad bar was fresh and the mushroom beef soup was to die for and I’m not big on mushrooms, but it was fabulous. Steaks came out the perfect medium and could cut them with the butter knife.
The staff from the host, to the bartenders, to the server were polite and friendly.
Thank you for the wonderful dining experience.

Message for new owners 8/22/2025. Buy the cook a thermometer. Tenderloin was raw on inside and charred on outside. Salad bar should have bacon bits and hard boiled eggs. Rolls should be warm. Drinks were good. Server was good. Hostess should seat at every other table until busy instead of 'packing us in'. Was a weekly regular. Going to give it a few months before trying again. Not sure where to go now. Sad :(

We were hoping for good things with the change in ownership. The service is still very good and the Rupptinis remain excellent, but it’s unfortunate that the quality of the food has declined significantly. We ordered medium tenderloin and were served rare to the point we couldn’t finish our food. The kitchen wait time has also increased dramatically. Seems like they’re trying but we’ll wait a while before giving it another try so the can work out the kinks

Update 12/26/2024.Planned on having dinner and ordered a cocktail and beer at the bar. Waited far too long for service. Mojito was good. Atmosphere was awful and we certainly did not feel welcome so we left after our drinks and ate elsewhere.

Really nice place with a good cozy atmosphere. Decor is a bit dated but it was very clean. I had the ribeye steak dinner topped with mushrooms and onions. This included a cup of clam chowder, rolls, sweet potato waffle fries, and salad bar. The steak was cooked very nicely and wasn't over seasoned, absolutely delicious. The soup and side were also fantastic.
Service was good, though I did have to ask for silverware as there was none at the table. Mistakes happen, and I didn't have any other complaints.
The bar service was also good, and the bartender talked to us about their homemade bitters and how they make it while preparing our drinks. Drink prices were also very reasonable.

The bar was beautiful. The owner/ bartender was cold and non engaging .
The hostess is the same way, cold and none engaging. The dining room has booths, but don't take a booth if you are built like a typical wisconsinite they are for skinny people. The food was OK, not great. Do not pay extra for the bacon cheese baked potato broiled baked potato with american cheese on top was terrible. The services was OK, not great. I will not go back. it was not worth the money.

When our party arrived we weren’t sure where to go or what do. I approached the woman who appeared to be the hostess. I told her we had a reservation and she cut me off and said β€œOh, you do. Stand over there.” She waved me off. She was so rude. I know she is not always rude, because she was friendly to others who she knew by name. I was ready to leave. Another guest told us to sit at the bar. Things got better from there. Very good drinks at a great price. We were seated about twenty minutes after our reservation time is was fine considering the drinks and how busy they were. The salad bar was really good as were the steaks. The ribs were good and the walleye someone had was excellent. Very tasty and fairly priced. The server was good. She was just very busy but we were well taken care of. Our table was a little sticky from the start, but over all really good food.

Liz and I visited this place after not having been here for years. The atmosphere is what I would call "Old Sheboygan" and that's a good thing. Nino's used to be our favorite Sheboygan dinner restaurant and this one may be our new favorite. While parking is on-street only, the inside is amazingly spacious. The waitresses have been here for decades. That tells me they are treated well and the business has been run successfully for a long time. Post-COVID that is saying something. I think this might become our new "favorite" special dinner place.

We ordered the New York strip and beef tips over pasta and it was absolutely awful. The beef tips didn’t taste good and the mushrooms in the sauce were definitely canned and before we even finished, we both had to use the bathroom. Let’s just say I’ve had more solid poops from eating Taco Bell. My wife is no longer constipated that’s the only plus of this place. All that for a whopping 70 bucks. Never coming back.

I was traveling from out of town on business. Been to a lot of supper clubs. Had an old fashioned at the bar. Then wanted to order dinner. Was not allowed to eat at the bar. Had to pay for drink then get a table for 1. Never ran across that before. I couldn’t even put my drink on my dinner tab? Ordered their special NY strip. Was just ok. Kind of tough to cut and chew. Was expecting better from the reviews. Baked potato was one of the smallest I’ve seen. Salad bar was mediocre with selections. Service was fast, but wasn’t a very busy night. Atmosphere was a bit outdated. Could be refreshed and still keep the old vibe. Overall would not recommend.

So overall it's nice. It gives a 70s feel. I had the soup and salad bar. The soup creamy mushroom with wild rice was delicious. The salad bar was okay. No meat except bacon bits. And there was always a wait to get to the salad bar. And only one cup of soup. Water wasn't refilled very promptly but overall server was nice and helpful. Although my parents requested beer with their meal and it came nearly at the end of their meal. It was also really dark which I get not being super bright but I always feel there's a happy medium.

This is totally a step back in time! Stepping back to when Supper Clubs ruled the restaurant scene with style, grace, elegance and great food choices! Rupp's is still running strong with this sentiment they embrace and embody the way Super Clubs should be and the way they have historically been. Happy to have chosen this restaurant after another local restaurant had a two hour wait. Didn't get to try the food there but atmosphere was much nicer at Rupp's. Rupp's has the best ambience of all the supper clubs we have visited. Server was very friendly and funny. The food was delicious! Already planning on making 2.5 hour drive to come with the rest of our supper club loving family!

I've always wanted to try duck. Well I just got to and it was fantastic. Also the cheese curd appetizers... yummy. Husband had a t-bone cooked medium and the chef got it right on. The Italian chicken soup and the one I can't pronounce the name of that's cream based and has Meatballs was my favorite of the two. Nadine our server was very nice and did a good job.

Very pleasantly surprised. I had never been here. It had an old Steak House atmosphere. It reminded me of the Fancy Restaurants that my parents took me to. The staff was friendly. We had the Duck. It was very good. I love a nice salad bar. It was a little pricey, BUT I don't mind that for a GOOD MEAL :-) I'll be back

Went here for supper Friday night. Good food. No greeting when we walked in. Service/ waitress horrible. She had no personality and only smiled when we paid the bill. (Maybe had we been "regulars" she would have treated us better) Not going back.

We loved everything about Rupp's but the service at the table was so terrible it will keep us from going back. Bartender and drinks were amazing, food was delicious, salad bar was great and was constantly being restocked. The server we had was extremely rude and obviously couldn't care less the entire way through. After eating we waited 45 minutes for two boxes, one grasshopper and the bill. She never even apologized for the long wait. As a bartender/server myself I would have been back with boxes right away, apologized for the time it was taking and would have gotten a manager involved if one after dinner drink took longer than 15 minutes. She did none of this and frankly ruined our night out.

We started with the 30-minute standard Saturday night wait. Our host was very sweet and honest about the wait.
To begin the evening dinner/wait, we grabbed cocktails at the bar. Our bartender was wonderful and was on top of everything. The bar portion of the restaurant was quaint and had a vintage mom and pops feel.
The overall feel of the restaurant was a little outdated. It did feel kind of cozy.
Our waitress was a whole different experience. We had a stout older woman who was short, snippy, and rude. All the way down to the eye rolling. We were seated, and menus casually just tossed at us. We were never told the evening dinner specials, we had to ask. Great, so we tried to place our orders, but were met with a snarky, were out. Okay, understandable, it looked to be a busy night. We order a different steak, but upon asking questions about the food is where the eye rolls came in. Our waitress was loud to other servers, unpleasant, rude, and impatient.
The salad bar is small but not horrible. Dinner came with rolls, soup, and salad bar. The prices are decent for a full actual dinner.
The steak was pretty good, decent flavor, and tender.

We've been going to Rupp's for decades and never had food or service that wasn't excellent. This is a high-end supper club; the food, service, and atmosphere are wonderful. We have often brought friends and family to dine at Rupp's and we always know they'll have a lovely experience. Very highly recommend.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE a Supper club. Dimly lit, the smell of hand made food being prepared, the grand quintessential older gent bartender expertly crafting cocktails, many for people he's known for years. And welcome to Rupp's!
Purely for convenience and timing, we went to the Sheboygan location. Everything feels like a supper club. We started out by paying the $2 for a take home bag of pretzels... those are killer pretzels. Seasoned with what, I don't know.
There were 4 adults and one 6-yr old. We had 2 prime ribs (Sat special), a ribeye, seafood plate (scallops, shrimp and orange roughy) and a kids cheeseburger. And a round of drinks.
The old-fashioned lovers were pleased w their values renditions of the drinks (there was a chocolate one and I heard cherries were delish). I had a Mexicana which was AMAZING.
I love there's a salad bar and I love more that they have all the "salads." Green bean, dill cucumber, pasta, tuna, potato, etc. Plus the veggies dip was silly! We each went back 3 times! The escargot turned 3 non-believers into believers!
Dinner was prepared as requested, with just enough fat to make flavor without being chewy. My scallops had sear on both sides, which is my requirement for scallops and the orange roughy was perfectly prepared and Seasoned. The soups were outstanding and the sides were also very nice (fries, loaded baker, pilaf, veggies. The kid's meal was generous. He ate it and then ordered Mac! Which was fine- the kids' meals were a mere $6!
Desserts-do not pass up the Schaum torte. It is perfect. German chocolate cheesecake lived up to the rich expectation and the rum cake, yum! All the ice cream drinks were also well executed.
So. After all that, go visit this throw back to a simpler day. You won't regret it.

I rarely leave bad reviews unless a place deserves it, and this place was terrible! Not only was our server Nikki extremely rude to all of us, when my mom asked for a slice of lemon for her water, Nikki had the slice of lemon in her hand the whole time and she plopped it the glass and it splashed everywhere! That is absolutely disgusting. This is definitely not restaurant etiquette. Additionally, when we wanted to order dessert Nikki said we can take some time to look at the menu, and we decided on a dessert, but I counted and she took 15 minutes to come back and by that time my parents and I decided no dessert because she did not CHECK IN with us!

We've been to Rupp's many times, and the food is always delicious. The steaks are prepared perfectly, and have an excellent taste.
The salad bar is something that you will only find at a true supper club - and features a nice selection of not only a build-your-own salad, but a choice of several kitchen-made salads, as well.
The drinks are well made, and the service was excellent.
We will definitely be back again!

Rupp’s in downtown Sheboygan is an excellent restaurant and steak house.
My husband and I had such a great experience when we were there just recently, we’d love to come back again and again.
They appetizers were delicious and the steaks were perfect!
Patti our server is amazing and truly a joy.
What a pleasure to have had her!
Everyone on the staff is super friendly and courteous.
We can’t wait to go back.
Unfortunately we won’t be able to do so often, as we were in town from Miami, and will have to wait until we come back again to visit our family.
