This was my first visit to Castle Rock Lake, very beautiful area. The Rustic Ridge is a great place to stop and grab some good food. Friday night, husband had the ribs, he loved them!! We returned on Saturday afternoon to watch the baseball games and for the fun meat raffle. Had the pizza for a snack, which was delicious and stayed for a great dinner. They have a fun and personable staff If you save room, Sadie makes a good cake. She said she's doing different flavors for the seasons. Don't forget to catch the amazing sunset from here. Go check out this little piece of heaven, it's worth it.

Mikey our server was awesome. Prime rib is never ever to be cooked on a grill. We told our server and the prime rib came with grill marks on it. It is so loud being the bar is also close to dining area. Never ever again for me. The old rustic ridge was amazing so sad.

Unbelievable awful experience last night at rustic Ridge restaurant. We specifically ask to hold our fish Fry after we finished the salad bar. The meal came out less than one minute afterwards they took it back and reserved it to us was soggy greasy and not what I’m used to compared to the places I go After complaining about this became a very difficult situation and they didn’t handle it very well unfortunately I don’t think I’ll ever be back and would not recommend anybody going there if you wanna hit me up with a message I can explain it more

We came here because we heard the food was really good. I had the fettuccine alfredo and when I got my meal it was just pretty much buttered fettuccine noodles. There was no alfredo sauce on, just oils and butter. As you'll see from the picture I had to dump a bunch of Parmesan cheese on it. The serving size was very small also for the price of the 13.99. My partner had the prime rib and said it was okay but also a very small cut for the price. We will most likely give it another try and hopefully the food will be better. The service was decent we had a very friendly server although the service was very slow with not too many people in the restaurant when we went last Saturday. They do have a full salad bar which was great along with the bread. We did have a beautiful sunset view of Castle Rock lake.

Food very is expensive and sub par. Never heard of a steak dinner not including soup or salad, have to pay extra. I've seen them claiming it's better than it was before and that's actually comical. My steak was charred but not well done, as ordered. It was VERY thin, mostly fat and no flavor. They didn't offer smoked prime rib, even though it's on the menu. The prime rib was chewy and tough and again, no flavor. They serve prime rib and steaks but it's VERY MUCH so just a bar. Really loud, drunk people, staff in jean shorts, walk through a group of smokers to even get in the door. Our waiter was attentive, but there were only two tables and the rest were just people drinking. Definitely won't be back unless we're just looking to get drunk I guess. It definitely gives camp bar vibes and the quality shows. The 4.2 stars is misleading. Of the new management, 1/4th or more of the reviews one the last 3 months are not great. Nice you get to use years of good reviews from another business.

This is a must go to place. Adam and Amy are fantastic bartenders. Adam knows how to make a terrific old fashion. I have been here many times since it was under new management. I have tried almost everything on the menu. I have not been disappointed yet. Karri and Ryan have made us feel like family since the first time we came in. From a burger while out boating to a fantastic sit down dinner at the end of the day. You can’t go wrong stopping here. They even have a nice ice cream shop!

Been going here for 55 years. This is by far the best eatery on the east side of Castle Rock Lake located just off of county Z in friendship Wisconsin. Its lake view is breathtaking. Many boaters come from the west side of the lake come over and dock to experience this fine restaurant. The salad bar is back better than ever. I’ve personally met the new owner and she goes out of her way to accommodate you and her guest. Great place to dine. You gotta come try them out. I highly recommend this restaurant for good food good times. There’s even an outdoor tiki hut that I have spent many visits. Enjoy. I give it 5 ⭐️.

Stumbled upon this little gem on a week day. Very friendly staff, mainly owners and a few staff members. Prompt inviting service at bar with beverage and food ordered. Moved outside for a great view of the Castle Rock lake. Ordered nachos loaded came with fresh fried tortilla chips with minimal toppings but still very good. Came in with a group of 9, got seated right away. All of us ordered our drinks and fish dinners shortly after being seated. Then the wait. An entire 1 1/2 hrs...a group came in after us and were served their food before us, as did other tables. Never was asked to refill our drinks. The cornbread and coleslaw we did get upon asking server to bring out was dry and tasteless. We never did receive our food as we decided to not wait any longer than we already had...my overall rating is a 1/5.

I can’t attest to the food other than I strongly suggest to not eat the dry coleslaw. Everyone at our table ordered a fish dinner unfortunately we never got our food. We literally waited over an hour and a half and still didn’t get our food! I finally asked the server if she could bring out the coleslaw and cornbread that is served with our dinner. We were all so hungry we scarfed down the cornbread but I wasn’t able to stomach the dry foul smelling coleslaw. The server mentioned there would be a wait which is understandable however we sat waiting and not once did she ask if we wanted more to drink. The worst part was that numerous tables who came in after us were served and left while we continued to wait! We finally had enough and left very disappointed and hangry. As we left we heard that the server had just put our order in about 40 mins earlier. This server never came and admitted that she made a mistake and forgot to put in our order. Not one person from management came to apologize or even give us a reason as to why we were watching so many other tables eating and leaving even though they arrived after us. I have been a server and completely understand that mistakes happen and sometimes we forget however the way we handle it is what counts. This was not handled at all! The staff dismissed the mistake. Not recommended at all!

We had a table of 8, we ordered our food and drinks at the same time. Never once did the waitress come back and ask if we wanted more drinks. We waited 1 1/2 hours for food. We were there at 7:30, we ALL ordered fish, and we had sat there for almost an hour, asked if we could atleast have our cole slaw, which we got, dry but we were starving. A table of 8 or 9 came in about 30 minutes after us and got there food before we did. Thats when we decided to leave. All 4 of us ordered prime rib dinner at what the sign listed a supper club. No salad bar, no soup, no homemade bread. With prime rib you receive a very dry tasteless piece of cornbread, a plastic dish of dry coleslaw, no vegetable offered, and water upon request in a plastic covered cup with straw. The baked potato wasn't warm enough to melt the butter. The 'prime' rib was 65% fat, 10% trim edges, and 25% meat that was chewy at medium rare. The once great brandy old fashions are a thing of the past. Nowhere as good as we had@ 4 years ago. This is not anywhere near the great eating experiences we've had at tĥe 'original' Carlson's Supper Club. Weren't asked how we liked our meal nor offered desert. Sad to see how much less it has to offer customers now.

The service was far from exceptional! Took 15 mins plus to even see a waiter/server for the first time, we asked for a minute to look at the menu didn’t see the him for another 15 mins plus! Took 45 mins plus to even see our food or our waiter/server again! We ordered two main entrees, one being the tenderloin tips over mash potatoes (for reference their serving was the size of a soup bowl). We originally asked for ribs was informed they were out but magically the tables on either side of us both ordered them after our order was taken! Two bites into the meal we were asked if we needed anything & next thing we know the bill is placed on the table! The food was mediocre.

We should of known after ordering burgers and sandwiches to go the weekend before where all the condiments were nowhere to be found!

We have given this restaurant multiple chances. We have ordered the prime rib which is overpriced and not very good ( we didn’t even finish the portion)

A wonderfully characteristic cabin exterior overlooking Lake Petenwell. We enjoyed potato 'kegs' apps which were very good. We ordered the bluegill and broiled cod dinners. The bluegill was good, and the broiled cod was spot on. We had the fortunate opportunity to talk with the young owners, and they are very enthusiastic! Our server has been making a new dessert each week this summer, and her raspberry filled cake with white chocolate frosting was excellent! Hurry in before they close for the winter!

Spent Memorial Day weekend at the resort. We rented one of their cabins. Family of 5 with 2 dogs. The cabin was super nice and clean. And plenty of space for everyone. We ate prime rib on Saturday at the restaurant. The kids had chicken strips and they loved it. The ice cream was incredible too! The food was phenomenal!!! Staff was awesome. The cabin was super close to the huge awesome beautiful beach. This place is a must go! I felt like I should have paid double for the accommodations. Great value! Beautiful area! Best vacation our family has ever been on! The tiki bar is stellar!! Don’t miss out in this gem of a resort! Already booking our next trip back very soon.

Now it's just Rustic Ridge. Rick sold the restaurant/bar recently. The deck is now covered, with many picnic tables for dining. Strange new floor to ceiling wall dividing the inside dining area. This was our 2nd time eating at Carlson's. The first time was 4 or 5 years ago. We thought the food was much better this time around. The restaurant has since been remodeled. Don't bother. During the Summer months this was our favorite spot for Friday and Saturday dining. We've been there a few times this Summer but after Friday will never go back. We waited 40 minutes for a medium burger and fish tacos, the restaurant was not that busy and a table that came in about 10 minutes after us got their pizza well before we received our dinner. Our waitress came back once about 15 minutes in to ask if we needed anything more to drink and then one more time after about 30 minutes to say she just had to deliver the pitcher of water (our waters were completely empty) she was holding and then she would be right back with our dinner. She didn't come back so after another 10 minutes we asked the bartender if our food was ready and could we get it to go. The fish tacos were all coleslaw with about a half a piece of fish on each one, while I enjoy the coleslaw the meal and service we received was NOT worth $37.00

No more salad bar, desert bar and everything pictured is gone under new owners. Ok they still have the pretty sunset over the lake. The menu is reduced to everything fried bad bar food. The outside service is much slower than the mosquitoes. Dock for 2 boats max. Adjoining tiki bar across the parking lot plays recordings of people having fun. Otherwise empty. Old families sit on picnic tables and will gladly describe how elegant it used to be. Sit and enjoy the view of the lake. Pack a lunch.

We came as a big family expecting to have an amazing dinner as we always used to have. After not being there for awhile we were extremely disappointed when we walked in and the restaurant was remodeled, and an entire new menu. If we wanted a typical beach bar burger joint we would of never made the trip out there! Good luck in your new venture you've already lost regulars who came in for a nice dinner.

Went on Sunday and lots of boats on water and beach was full of people but they didn't open until 4pm. They could've sold a ton of ice cream that day if they had opened the ice cream window they just installed that afternoon.....it was 90 degrees!

Very disappointed! My husband, family and I have been coming here for 10 years. Tonight we went for dinner and they apparently have done a horrible remodel- no salad bar- no ambiance. They seem to be more concerned with casual outdoor dining and ice cream than being a premier restaurant and super club. We didn’t stay for dinner, left and won’t be back! What a shame!

We’ve been going to the Rustic ridge for 10 years, newly remodeled this year. Terrible idea, they killed another Wisconsin supper club. The dining room sucks, I’m not going to pay to eat on a picnic table! The atmosphere is non existent.
Shame, we’ll never go there again! What were they thinking!

We went to have ice cream, and it was delicious! The prices for the ice cream was a little high, but it was definitely worth it. The real issue is when we bought an ice bag there, and we waited for about three minutes.
