Five stars are not enough! I have eaten at Rye multiple times for both lunch and dinner. I have never been disappointed; in fact, each time gets better. The mushroom mozzarella ravioli is OUT of this world. & easily the best filet I’ve ever had. 1000/10. Priced appropriately for the quality.

My gosh I wish I went here before. My Internship final dinner took me here, and maybe it tasted a bit better because it was free, but it was really good!! The oysters were fire and I got some extra because my friend didn’t like them; I recommend the cooked ones instead of raw. French onion soup was amazing and filling, and my New York steak was perfectly cooked at medium-rare, although the rest of my party’s steak was quite a bit more rare than they asked for (medium). Overall great service and experience.

Was a little apprehensive about this place, not typically my style. However it was a friend’s birthday and this is where she wanted to go. Turned out to be a great place. Food was awesome. Fair prices for what you are getting. We’re all aware of what we’ve been spending in the grocery store these past couple years, take that into account and you can’t deny the value here. Small menu, but that typically ensures everything on it has been perfected. You can be mediocre at many items, or great at few. These guys have chosen wisely. Great job RYE. Mira offered expert service. No complaints whatsoever. The wine reduction with the filet was life changing. The eating area is slightly small and we were seated in the only awkward spot in the entire restaurant which is why they didn’t score a perfect 15/15. (Wouldn’t have mattered if we were seated there or not). Our server was perfect the entire night. Crab cakes, cheesy risotto balls, short rib steak, and the fried pork were all seasoned perfectly. Even the salads that came with some of the plates were seasoned with intent to be eaten until gone. The thing that separates this place from any other restaurant I have been to in my lifetime were the sauces. Every single sauce was delicious and well seasoned. My significant other and I had an amazing experience dining at Rye last night. The cocktails were delicious and presented beautifully. The bartender and our waitress were attentive and kind. We had the cheese curds to start, and then the short ribs and braised beef and wild mushroom ragu—all were phenomenal. Just wish we saved room for dessert :-) Next time!

This place is really nice, the wait staff are very good. The food is literally some of the best food you'll ever have, the steak is perfection and the chicken marsala is to die for. I will say it's a bit small, there wasn't really any place to take cute pictures except in front of the sign outside. The prices are good though for the quality of the experience it was 100% worth it, I would go again and I definitely recommend.

I took my girlfriend here for our 3 year anniversary. The service and atmosphere was amazing. Waitress did an amazing job and even gave us free champagne to celebrate the occasion. Amazing experience. I chose to come here with my fiancee for our 5th year anniversary. It was our first time and I was thoroughly impressed. I've had dinner here three times and have had three excellent meals. Every level is perfect. Presentation, service, and the food is out of this world. Schnitzel, Mushroom Ragu, and short ribs with all different appetizers. I never post about a place but fell compelled too.

Main dishes were fantastic! We had the scallops & city strip & if we went back we would order the exact same things. (If they had the scallops. Those were on their featured menu). Dessert & drinks were good, but weren’t standouts (creme brûlée & old fashioned). It was incredibly dark in the place. I get setting a mood, but it would be nice to be able to see the grizzle on the steak to avoid it. Then, there’s one table of 6 or 8 when we arrive & they sit us immediately next to them, then follow up by placing a couple immediately next to us. The tables are fairly close together & it just felt weird. It was hard to focus on our conversation, when those tables next to us were lively in their conversations. Service was fine, but not overly friendly/warm.
All in all, main dishes would bring us back, but probably not for some time. Personally, I could say the place is overrated.

We don't get to Appleton that often. Staying across the street at the Paper Valley Hotel. Glad that we decided to have dinner at Rye (right across the street).

Had reservations, got there a little early so we sat at bar and had a couple of their special Old Fashioned. Got great service and terrific drinks (Thanks Clause).

Got seated at a nice spot, towards the rear. Spacious and not too noisy. We ordered several of the Sharable plates, Beet Salad, Crab Cakes, and Seared Ahi Tuna Salad. Each one was an amazing combination of flavors and textures. Hard to pick a favorite.

We had room for dessert, so we tried the special Peppermint Dome. Again, an amazing choice.

In total and excellent meal. We would definitely stop again.

I thought that our dining experience at Rye was just as expected. They have an intimate atmosphere but a little too dim once our food was served. The dishes had a great presentation and really needed some more light to truly appreciate them.
We had the oyster service, which had great pairing flavors, whether raw or baked. I think a little more attention could be paid to the shucking process, as we did have to pick out several shell pieces.
We also had the squash ravioli and seared scallop entrées. Both were very well composed dishes.
We will be back to try other menu/featured items. I highly recommend making a reservation at Rye.

When we got there they tried to seat us next to the bar and we wanted to be moved to a different table because of the bar noise. There were 4 different tables that weren't being used. The manager I presume, said if he moved us, that would disrupt the rest of the seating for the evening. There were only two sets of couples that came in after we were seated. Plenty of extra seating was available. This is not the way that I wanted to start out my evening. We finally got moved to a quiet location. We ordered our meals and had a good night. The braised beef and wild mushroom ragu and the rootbeer glazed short ribs were very good. We will have to think twice about returning.

I was in town for a conference last month and dined at this restaurant two out of the three days I was in town. The second day I was there I ate at Lombardi's steakhouse across the street, which was amazing, but I enjoyed Rye just a little bit more. Both restaurants had great food but Rye was more affordable (about 1/2 the price) and the service was just as good, if not better. The wait staff was very attentive (more so then Lombardi's) and the atmosphere was great. If you are a football fan, especially a Packers fan, then Lombardi's is your go-to choice. But if looking for a great meal, business casual, and at very affordable prices, Rye would be a great choice. I would recommend trying both places if you're in town for a few days and weigh it out for yourself. I don't want to bash Lombardi's because they were amazing also but Rye just impressed me a little bit more in all categories. I'm actually now looking to go back with my wife for a weekend getaway (I'd never been to Appleton before last month) because the town has a lot to offer for tourism, a lot of great historical history to see, great accommodations at the Hilton across the street from Rye, and amazing food! And if you are a cigar aficionado, just across the street and four or five storefronts down is the Appleton cigar store, that I highly recommend! The service there was also spectacular! I look forward to going back before the end of the summer! The wife and I have been planning a weekend getaway, where we can both get away from work and everything else, and we're going back Appleton!

I’m so glad to have Rye in Appleton!
They offer a unique and delicious menu with lots of goodies. The staff here is extremely helpful, friendly and patient. If you have any special dietary restrictions or anything else, just ask, everyone is more than happy to help.

We dine here on average four times a year, including our birthdays, anniversary, and Other special occasions.

No need for reservations at the time we came 1pm on Saturday, couple more tables with patrons.
The service was slow. I ordered the pork chop needed seasoning and was undercooked. Unexpected flavors when tasted the polenta. Vegetables were fine. Nothing that turned this entree into a delicious meal. We asked for dessert suggestions, server said that the strawberry tiramisu was really good, we took her suggestion. It was a matcha cake, looked like tiramisu, spongy cake simmered in matcha with some creamy cheese layer, and a fresh strawberry sliced not exactly a great cake. The hamburger was undercooked and the fries dry. I had the impression that our dining experience was going to be a pleasant meal but it was not the case. I do have to say that the couple appetizers hummus pickled veggies and the rice balls were tasty though.

Rye Restaurant Update Review 6-7-2024. So it has been about 2 years since we last tried Rye due to staff, sound, & lighting issues. The food remains phenomenal! Our server Sashe was excellent through the entire experience - she knew how things were prepared, assisted in finding options for our needs, and made sure we were happy throughout. We were greeted and seated promptly. Better lighting this time to read the menu, music more appropriate for fine dining. We started with cocktails and Oysters - delish! He loved the jalapenos Remoulade, I liked the mignonette. I had the Bone-in Duroc Pork Chop - it was butterflied to serve, moist, tender, the cranberry bacon balsamic demi was perfect. The Crispy Polenta Cake was a square long stick with cranberries and bacon in it - best bite of the night! He had the Crab Crusted Walleye - very good - needed much more of the sauce and the dill leaves were a pungent overtone to the crabcake, but the fish was excellent. The evening manager was very good at making sure food was getting out, and reservations tables were managed appropriately. I appreciated the servers knowing how to serve plates correctly for presentation and knowing who at the table ordered it - no asking "Who ordered the fish?'' It really exemplifies good service. Overall I would definitely recommend as I see improvements and the food is top notch fine dining! I wish people in the Fox Valley knew how to dress for such a great experience. This is not a t-shirt and shorts place. The evening was worth every penny. If we go back again we will request one of their private rooms or the Tavern seating which is much more conducive for conversation.

Awesome place. In Appleton for an AAU basketball tournament, we had a late game and planned for a late dinner. Found Rye and immediately our party of six was welcomed. Our waiter Callum was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu with excellent recommendations. The restaurant also granted a non menu fruit bowel for our basketball playing grandson. Every meal was excellent, salads, ravioli and crab cakes. We were treated with kindness and never rushed, even when coming in an hour before close.

Perfection from top to bottom, compliments to the chefs here. I'm trying to decide if these are now my favorite cheese curds or if it was just the tarragon ranch that sent them over the top..

Whatever you pick on the menu you'll love so don't be afraid to throw a dart if you can't decide what to order. Every dish is a square meal with appropriate veg to pair and it's perfect down to every bite, my girlfriend's asparagus she received is the biggest we've ever seen, it was cooked through yet still crisp and fresh like someone was focusing on nailing the exact second it should stop being cooked.

You'd expect a place with food this good to give you a small portion but you'll likely be taking a to go bag with you.

The service is of course just as great. 10/10 experience

We had a 35 day Kansas City strip that was tough and not rendered properly in the pan, along side it came with smoked romanesco broccoli that was cold and tasted like charcoal. For $66 my wife and I were expecting the steak/plate to be a lot better than what it was. My wife’s crab encrusted walleye was alright for the price however, found it a bit strange that the “crab encrusting” was just a smashed and overcooked crab cake set on top of the pile of food she received on her plate. Presentation and knife skills seemed to be lacking in this kitchen.

Our server was timely but unfortunately we found a few things odd throughout the evenings service such as; Never cleared used appetizer plates, used silverware, and empty glasses. Not that this is a norm for every restaurant but when you buy a bottle of wine and your glass is empty the server would normally refill your glass.

Atmosphere 2.5/10
Nothing special that stood out to us, and the table was too small for a 2 top with everything they leave on your table during service. My wife did think the light fixtures hanging over the bar were cool.

Had a great time, and thats what it's all about, food portions were great, (there was 4 of us so I dont remember what we all ordered) but it was satisfying and Sashi needs a raise for how great she was! The food was like any other highly rated resturaunt, but what really sold it was the service and the laughs we all shared. If I ever find myself back in Applewood in the forseeable future, itd be for her. Overall, 4.5 Stars. Good job, RYE.

Nice restaurant located in the Copperleaf Hotel, downtown Appleton. Was a little unsure of this place but they definitely surprised me. There were 6 of us sat in the bar area. The bartender was also our server. It took a bit for him to get to us but once he did he kept up with us very well. Food and serving size was very good. We started off with some apps. We had the sauteed whiskey bacon shrimp, accompanied with some bread and scrays cheddar cheese curds, I had the Pork Schnitzel and a buddy of mine had the Root beer braised short rib. They were absolutely delicious. We finished off with the chocolate chunk skillet cookie and the death by chocolate.This meal was really good. I was full but not miserable. The other gentlemen with us had the hanger steaks. They stated it was one of the best steaks they've ever had. Definitely be back.

Just happened to find this quaint restaurant in Appleton, such a gem! We loved the atmosphere, the service, and mostly the food!
The Crab Crusted Trout was amazing, as was the Butternut Ravioli! Looking for a reason to go back to Appleton just to go back.

We celebrated my birthday here earlier this week and we will definitely be back! My husband had the crab crusted walleye and I had the bone in duroc pork chop 🤤. We shared the aged cheddar and bacon risotto balls and dessert. Everything was so delicious and the service was awesome!

The food is fantastic and the dining room wait staff is fantastic. However one bad apple can spoil the whole experience. I've been here twice and each time the bartender/manager was extremely rude and condescending not just to our party but to his staff. I decided to try again because everyone can have a bad day. It was like deja vu. He's the only bartender and makes sure you know it. Huffing and puffing and rolling his eyes and snapping at those he works with. He wouldn't acknowledge me, instead he shot a look at his co-worker who then smiled at me and handed me a menu. After several minutes he says 'I'll get to you when I can' still no eye contact. Then proceeds to ask someone else about their serving drink order before he's even asked for our first. Then once again his co-worker has to intervene with over the top niceness to try to compensate. It's truly a shame that this one person takes away from a great establishment and a 5 star experience for everyone. I only gave 3 stars on service because literally everyone else tries so hard.

This place used to be phenomenal in previous years, but we've been disappointed in the last year or so. Food has noticeably gone downhill and service has been poor when it used to be awesome. The last 3 times we went the food had a noticeable quality difference and the servers barely checked on us, never came back so we could get additional drinks, and gave us the check without giving us the opportunity to order more drinks, desserts, etc.
This used to be one of our favorite places but I don't see a reason to go anymore, especially because it's so expensive. My partner and I made exclusive reservations for New Year's Eve a little over a year ago and we felt very rushed to eat and leave, despite wanting to order more drinks. It was before closing time. This has happened to us multiple times even though we are courteous and polite. I find these changes very odd and wonder what happened to the Rye we used to love.

Had dinner here with friends before a show at the PAC. Perfect location so close to the theater. The cocktails were amazing, the food was delicious and the service was above and beyond. I left behind my hat and when I contacted them, not only had they found it, but were willing to ship it to me to save me the 1.5 hour round trip drive to pick it up. So grateful for how helpful they were. Highly recommend!

This will be a 50/50 review.
We made reservations to which Rye was spot on no real wait time. We were seated out in the hotel lobby dining area, not the most inviting place to eat. The staff was overwhelmed and very slow to respond to us for drinks, ordering dinner, or any service.
I understand all service industries today have difficulty in that area.
I had their Hanger steak AWESOME, I could go on and on with praise.
My wife ordered the Root beer braised short rib, it was tender but tasteless almost like eating boiled meat. We explained this to the waitress, she said she would bring out some additional sauce and have the manager come talk to us. She brought out the root beer demi sauce which was also blan. I shared my awesome hanger steak with my wife as her ribs were unpalatable. The manager never came over to follow up. When I received the bill I was charged an additional $3 for the sauce. (seriously) The waitperson apologized and again said the manager would stop to make it right. He never came to speak to us, we did see a man asking other tables how their evening was and if Rye could do anything better. I assumed this was the manager but can't say for sure.
After 40 min of waiting we decided just to leave. We paid the full bill, not being the waitperson fault she received a 20% tip
I am not one for negative reviews as I know they can impact a business.
But in this case Rye will receive a less-than-perfect grade.

Order the cheese curds if you wanna die… from flavor! I went here with my girlfriend for valentines and no regrets. The staff was amazing! Our waitress was so polite and present. The food tasted like love. The presentation was perfect. Will definitely be coming back to try more food and for cheese curds. Would recommend to the world.

Staff was friendly and easy to talk to about recommendations. The butternut squash ravioli was above and beyond my expectations and with added chicken it was delicious and protein packed. The portions were perfect for the night and the leftovers were just as good. It's a great "dress up" date spot with a quiet enough atmosphere to have a conversation but lively enough to not make it feel like a deadspot. Excellent spot for a long term date night spot or a place where you're trying to make a good impression.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Excellent service, beautiful atmosphere and PHENOMENAL food! The chef who creates the recipes is truly a genius and the presentation was truly beautiful. I had the wagyu burger which was fresh and not heavy or greasy- perfection! My husband had the root beer braised short ribs which were SO tender and flavorful. We ended the meal by sharing the winter bread pudding which was truly the best dessert I’ve ever had! Not overly sweet but just sweet enough with the ice cream on top. Will definitely be eating here again!!!!

We stopped in on a week night, they weren't very busy but post holiday that's not surprising. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and we were seated at the bar (our request). The bartender made some very good old fashioned's and made an excellent recommendation on wine to pair with my meal. I had the Sous Vide Hanger Steak with an amazing sauce, red potatoes and broccolini. The steak was sooo tender and tasty, as was the rest of the meal. Hanger steak can be very difficult to make but this was incredible! You also have to try the Winter Spice Bread pudding!

The steak was perfection 👌 the drinks were well made and consistently taste the same. Some restaurants you ordered a drink and the next one taste different or too strong. Their bartender needs a raise. The only thing we were very disappointed on that at 8pm they ran out of the ribeye and for new years eve and the fact it's a menu option normally, to run out is insane to us. The homemade desserts are so delicious. We will be back to enjoy 😉

Ordered the dry aged steak. absolutely dried out COMPLETELY. NO FLAVOR AT ALL. Potatoes were dripping with liquid smoke. Not one thing, other than the service at the bar was worth it. I'll go back, but save yourself and don't order the steak. It's obvious the chef does not care about those orders.
