This place has amazing food. The goat biriyani was delicious and very flavorful, the tikka masala was simply spectacular. The breads (naan and roti) were fresh and perfect. If you enjoy Indian/Pakistani cuisine or if you just want something different and delicious you should definitely go here. It was wonderful.

No taste!!! This is not even close to authentic Indian taste. Look at the samosa, full of oil and made of paratha—seriously? The fried rice was made of biryani rice, and there were no chicken pieces. You’ll be all confused whether you're eating biryani or plain rice. Pathetic, waste of money. Not Recommended.

If you are in the area and enjoy Indian food, you have to come to Saffron Grill House. I tried them for the 1st time and been coming back ever since. The best Racine County has to offer. If youre looking for authentic and downright delicious Pakistani food, look no further than Saffron Grill House. They made a big to-go order for a gathering with some friends and everything was absolutely insanely delicious. We all enjoyed our curries and naan. My favorite thing on their menu is the lime soda. My husband adores the goat dishes and paneer, their butter chicken is the best butter chicken Ive ever had in my life. Its a little out of the way if youre coming from the city of Racine, but DO IT! They will take care of you. You can choose your spice level, and nothing will disappoint you.

Came here on a Saturday night at the recommendation of a friend. I am very familiar with Indian food through shared culture. The food here was authentic Indian style. I was unsure whether I would be able to find a good spot for Indian food in Wisconsin but I am happy to say I recommend and will be back again (add onion kulcha to your menu please, haha). The only aspect I could critique is the naan—which I wish was a little more fluffy, but this is my personal preference.

This was my first time dining at an Indian restaurant, and I was blown away! We ordered butter chicken (spice level 7), chicken tikka masala (spice level 8), garlic naan, paneer, and veggie samosas. Every dish was full of flavor, the spice levels were spot on, and the naan was perfect for me as I love a little crunchiness. WOW! Starting with the staff. We were quickly greated with a warm smile and sat right away. The restaurant is clean and the food here is amazing. I had the Aloo Gobi (my go to dish) and it topped all others. Seasoned beautifly and just the right amount of sauce. My naan couldn't have been more perfect. It was fragrent and crispy. Everyone enjoyed their dish. I wish I took pictures but we were to busy eating and loving our food.

Large portion sizes, we had Biryani and it will be at least two meals. Mine was medium spicy and had a decent kick, the Naan was also good. The restaurant was basically empty though and the bathrooms were dirty and perfect my mom the women's room had no toilet paper, those are worrisome, I feel like if the place is empty there's time to clean the bathrooms and restock, makes you wonder how clean the kitchen is.

This place is a love/hate affair. In short, the food is good (not great) but the portions generous. The service was incompetent at best. The price was reasonnable. We did not see wine or beer on the menu.

The Food: The appetizer was Samosa Chaat. This was very good and rather large for an appetizer. We followed with Goat Biryiani. The flavor was adequate, the portion very generous. The goat pieces were buried at the bottom and somewhat fatty. The yoghurt sauce was too runny, almost watery. We ordered the Biryiani "spicy," but we got "Wisconsin spicy." If you prefer true spicy seasoning, order "Very Spicy." We also ordered garlic naan, which was acceptable, but somewhat bland.

The Service: The waitress, though polite, was unfamiliar with properly waiting tables, and the business's procedures left to be desired. Water was served in individual plastic bottles. I asked if they recycled, and her answer was "No." No glasses were given or offered. We ordered Karachi Chai, which tasted very good, but was served in paper cups with plastic tops. The appetizers took some time to come around... but they were served along with the entrees and the naan. So by the time we got to the main dishes, they were already getting cold. At no point did the waitress pick up empty dishes of her own accord. I had to hand piles ostensibly to her for her to take away (this was a busy table of four). Even then, it didn't occur to her to come back and pick up the rest and clear the table for dessert. We skipped desserts and headed out.

The Facility: Parking seemed adequate. The dining hall was clean, reasonably comfortable, spacious. No background music or Indian-themed decoration. The large TV above the bar was way too loud and the shown program incongruous. The hard surfaces in the dining hall worsened the TV noise. I'm assuming on a busy night, the place may be pretty noisy (there were only 3 other occupied tables when we dined there).

We had the pleasure of dining at this culinary crime scene today, and I must say—it redefined the word terrible. We ordered two of our favorite dishes: Chicken Marsala and Curry Chicken. Little did we know, we were about to play a game of “spot the difference.” Spoiler alert: there wasn’t one. Both came drowning in the same exact mystery sauce—like the chef made one sad vat of liquid confusion and just threw in different chunks of chicken.

Portions? Think “sample size” at Costco, but with less flavor. For $17 each, I expected a meal—not something that looked like it belonged in a shot glass. And speaking of flavor, let’s just say my taste buds are still in recovery.

Now the garlic naan—sorry, was a masterpiece in deception. Store-bought? Check. Reheated? Of course. Garlic? Not even on speaking terms with this bread. Instead, we got a lovely drizzle of maple syrup-scented butter with the subtle aroma of burnt herbs. Mmm… just like grandma never made.

This place boldly claims to serve authentic Indian food. Bold indeed. Honestly, calling it “food” is already a generous stretch. And to top it off, our stomachs launched a full protest shortly after.

This is my first ever review—and it’s not because I love writing. It’s because I needed to warn humanity. Do yourself a favor: keep walking. Your money and your digestive system will thank you. And to the owner—please, taste your own food sometime. Preferably before charging people for it.

The paneer appetizer was really good- was downhill from there. I see why the place was dead on a Saturday night. The Tandoori chicken didn't seem like it was cooked in a Tandoori- was just ok, the mixed grill- terrible. My naan came out burnt, and at the end of our meal - didn't eat it. Beautifully presented butter chicken. Fresh pieces of real cuts of tender chicken that were hand-picked, marinated, and prepared for cooking. Really lovely place and interior. Not a lot of desi options nearby so was happy to see this place and give it a try. I ordered the mixed grill which I usually order from many Indian/paki restaurants when available. It did take about 60 minutes to receive my food on a Friday night with only a few other tables. Understandably the meats and such need time to be prepared/cooked, but I’ve never waited more than 30 minutes for such an entree. Think there just needs more care to be put into the kitchen to more timely deliver on the food. The food itself was good I’d say. Didn’t wow me, but was a good value for the price point. The waitress was fine. Didn’t give me a fork for the meal so I ate with my hands. Didn’t bring the yogurt/raita I ordered either. She had a few tables so it is what it is. But I guess some additional attentiveness wouldn’t hurt on the service front as well. All in all, I’m sure the curries and other items are great. I’d give this place a try. But don’t come if you’re in a hurry.

there are not a lot of choices in the area for Indian or Pakistani food too my knowledge. I went in yesterday after seeing they were right near the Golf Course so I thought Id stop in after my round for an early dinner. I had the Goat Curry which was absolutely fantastic the spice level was just right though I like spicy food and asked for a traditional level of spice. I had also ordered a side of Garlic Naan which went excellently with the Curry as well as an order of their Crispy Fried Shrimp Appetizers. I did not finish my food as my eyes were much bigger than my stomach but the left over curry and rice re-heated quite well later that night.

10/10 Ill definitely be coming over again.

Even by Chicago standards, this place would represent an absolutely solid addition to the Indian cuisine scene. But by the standards of SE Wisco, it's nothing short of a miracle - the equivalent of finding a Ritz Carlton on Mars. I don't mean to imply the food landscape in Wisconsin is as barren and lifeless as a cold, rusted rock hurtling through space for a billion years but, well... Unless you have an unending appetite for Philly cheese steaks, over done burgers, or cheese curds, that's pretty much the case.

Enter Saffron House... Just what an Illinois expatriot needs to scratch that maddening itch at the bottom of his gustatory soul. You've found a better life here: better schools, nicer people, and a (at least halfway) sane government. Now plug that last remaining void in your heart with some butter chicken and chana masala and think to yourself "yes, at LAST.. I REALLY AM home..."

I actually was just staying at hotel across street and walked in for convenience . Had the Chicken Biryani, (side order of French fries and a coke) Was a large portion. Ate half and taking the other half for lunch at work. Food was very delicious and it smelled great! Was t too spicy either. Waitress aid you can get different spice levels. Staff was super cool and took time to talk to me about the food and even offered their yogurt to make it even more delicious. 10/10 recommend and will go back! There is a small section of American food, but you have to try their food!
