It had been a couple of years since dining here. We are not from town, had another event planned so I suggested Salty’s for a nice dinner vs our normal more casual food stop. I ordered the scampi platter. The scallops were small, over cooked and rubbery, shrimp were over cooked and tough as well. The broiled haddock was delicious and cooked perfect! My twice baked potato was burnt on the top and a little dry. My husband had tenderloin & bacon wrapped cajun shrimp. Shrimp were extremely over cooked and the bacon was burnt to a crisp. He ate one & left the rest. His steak was done perfect as well as his twice baked potato, and the little loaf of warm bread was delicious. I realize seafood is hard to “time” out, but I was greatly disappointed. Not writing them off as we have dined in the past with excellent food, just won’t be back soon. Our server was great! She checked in on us frequently and was very friendly.

We always get the perch lite dinner take out first the on phone the back ground noise is so tthbad we can’t hear the person and they struggle to hear us . Should be an area for phone calls not in bar area common sense . Most of the time order was right but even when not busy and we order early 4:30 ish there’s been a number of times we received no bread salad with no salad dressing or wrong salad dressing . My husband likes his French fries crisp there always pale not fried long enough so he ask for them to be fried longer they fried the fish longer! Waitress apparently can’t hear with all the background noise so next Friday when we order fries not done properly again soggy
And waste of money . Fish always is good salad to when they get it right . I don’t get it especially when it’s not busy . It’s like Russian roulette if u get the right food

The prime rib and shrimp largo combo, was perfectly done. The ribeye and stuffed haddock combo was also perfectly done. Our dinners came with soup or salad and choice of potato, rice or veggies. And warm bread. The cheesy seafood chowder was outstanding. Pricing was very reasonable for the portion size. More food than what we had expected for $35 per combo. We pick out of the 2 entrees for $35 section of the menu. Many choices and different, than your usual shrimp or scallops. Our waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely will be stopping again.

Our family was in town for an event and this was our first experience at Salty’s. Crystal was an outstanding server, so personable and on top of things, making our visit amazing. My husband wanted a traditional old fashioned and both Crystal and the bartender went out of their way to make it happen. Oysters were shucked perfectly and were delicious! Up from Chicago visiting family and had dinner, with my grandson, this afternoon. The martini was perfect. The meal was delicious. Our server, Julie, was so friendly and engaging. The decor reminded me of south Florida. What a gem right here in FDL. I would recommend to anyone … oh, and prices were very reasonable. Definitely gotta give this little spot a try. Aside from the cool fish tanks at the bar and entrance, you're greeted by a great "by the dockside" feel as soon as you walk in. Great visuals, dim lighting perfect for the getaway date or just a night out at the bar! Food was exceptionally fast and wasn't rushed. The drinks for happy hour were more than enough to satiate your thirst. The best part was the food, that grouper is phenomenal, the seafood platter? Absolutely amazing. Flavors are all there for what you'd expect in a seafood experience. For the price as well. Especially in the middle of Wisconsin? Can't be beat. Go get you some seafood!

Been here a couple of times over the past few years. All those times were Great, except for today. There were not a lot of people, but yet everything, especially for us, was slower than molasses in January. Service was slow. Waitress was either not well trained or didn't give a crap, because we never got plates to eat our appetizers which took over 20 minutes just to come out. Are we eating in courses, because that's how our food was. Appetizers then soups/salads, then bread, and then 30 minutes later (which was about 1 hr 15 min later, we finally got our food. ALL the while, our waitress never asked or checked if we needed water/soda/or alcoholic beverage refills. I ordered another drink, damn... it took 10 minutes to get it. It should never be this way. I love this place and promote it to anyone who wants good food. I am a Heavy tipper and I at the very least tip 15%. NOT this time. Good service = great tip. Slow/bad service = piss poor tip.

MANAGEMENT - I really hope you see this, that's if you even care... why did we not get supplied plates for our appetizers? Why do we have to ask for service? Why did we have to wait so long for drinks and refills? WHY DID IT TAKE OVER AN HOUR TO FINALLY GET OUR MEALS? We came and was seated at 5:55pm and at 6:55pm we didn't get our meals yet. People came after us and got food before us, and they were done before we even got our meals. I hate not like and recommend this place-->Salty's, but I don't think I will come back here anytime soon, or continue recommending it.

The staff was friendly, however the service was super slow. Waited over 45 minutes to get appetizers, we didn't get plates so we just pass the appetizers around the table (other tables got plates). They came and took the dirty appetizers dish away and waited for another 10 minutes for soup and salads, then another 20 minutes for main dishes. There was no water refill until we were almost done with our food (we had 3 empty glasses). Now the food...the soups, steak, and lobster was way too salty (especially the soup, couldn't finish it, even with bread). I wouldn't go back due to the wait time for everything, it took us over 2hrs from sitting down to getting out.

This establishment is good for the seafood (kinda) but don’t go for the drinks. The “new” espresso martini was absolutely disgusting (starting changing texture after 5 minutes.) The key lime martini tasted like syrup and alcohol. They did make me pay for one even though I didn’t like either, which as a bartender myself I wouldn’t do. The bacon on the bacon wrapped shrimp was very fatty and not in a good way with a slightly chewy texture. However the seafood was decent-ish, though the lobster tasted like it may have been in the freezer before hand. Also,Spoke to the manager and seemed like she had a slight attitude with my complaints which isn’t very professional. She said “we haven’t had any complaints about the key lime martini and it’s one of the best seller’s” I’m sorry but just because people drink it doesn’t make it a good quality drink. Saltys lobsters have gone downhill. Went there yesterday and ordered the Net Catchers platter and the Captain’s platter. The lobsters were smaller and not fully cooked. Told the waitress who took them back to the kitchen. When she brought them back they were still not cooked properly. Told the waitress again and said to forget it and take them off the the bill. Manager gave us a $20 credit for each platter. What they should have done was prepare two new lobsters and make sure they were done, not reheat or microwave but no trying to get by cheap. Meals still cost $80 with two drinks. Paid a lot for three shrimp, a few crab legs, two soups and some bread. Not going there again. This had happened before but I thought I would give them another try, never again.

We started with a couple appetizers (Steamed Mussels, and Calamari) For the main course I had the 16 oz prime rib, my daughter had crab legs, and mother in law had scallops. There was so much food in just one meal, my husband almost had to roll me out the door. Everything was so filling. We suppose to have our table ready in 30-40 min., so we sat at the bar and enjoy a Spotty Cow beer along with fried calamari. The vibe is loud like in a sport bar, defenatly not like in elegant restaurant.
Prices for drinks are great ($4-$10), no wonder everyone comes there to get a buzz.
Service at the bar was good, no complains there. Calamari came fast and it was one of least favorite calamari that I had. It tasted more like eating pizza than seafood (it was served with pizza sauce).
After 70 min our table was finally ready and at this point we were already exhausted. Our server did not say sorry for a long wait. We chose broiled wallay with cauliflower, one of seafood sampler plate and a lobster.
It came with a soup (clam chowder and cheesy seafood soup) and bread. Clam chowder is terrible. Very salty and has tomato base. Cheesy seafood soup was better in our opinion but nothing special. Bread was smelling like old refrigerator that they just warm up in the microwave. Service at the tables is slow and not welcoming.
Surprisingly our main courses were fresh and tasty.
If you are looking for a loud noise, tiki bar and a seafood, that is defenatly a place for you, but if you would like to relax and have a nice Sunday dinner with you loved ones I would choose something else. Defenatly hit and miss for us.

My mother and I went here for lunch and she doesn’t really like sea food but she loves this place. She orders the seafood nachos half shrimp half crab. The waitress comes to our table and makes it known that we didn’t order half shrimp. She attempted to start taking the half shrimp off our plate and put it on one of our all ready side dishes as I stop her and say. Why don’t you just bring out the nachos that you didn’t provide and leave these on the table as they are already contained and you’re going to throw them out anyways. The waitress stated no I’ll give them to the wait staff in the back. And she continued to grab the nachos off of our table. At that moment if that is how they treat customers in front of them I’m scared to see how they treat your food behind closed doors I wouldn’t take my leftovers. I think the place is a dump. And does not have mature enough staff to run the place. If you want to pay top dollar for an ignorant teenager that doesn’t care about their job this is the place to go. I won’t step a foot in this dump.

What a great place. Came from out of town during Memorial Day weekend and looked for a good seafood place. Well, we found it at Salty's. What an amazing menu. Then there was my aunt. She Ordered Manhattan Chowder...she liked it. Then she Ordered Escargot (Snails) . Beyond the fact they are ugly to begin with They looked like black shriveled bugs , they came with 2 thick pieces of garlic bread . I guess the cook wanted to hide them. She said they were so tough they were like rubber bands . She had no problem complaining!

I wasn’t expecting a response but it just shows how unprofessional they are and that they can’t handle any kind of criticism. “Friendly staff, however the food tasted off. We had a party of 10. We waited an hour to be seated. Got our food ordered and it seemed to take forever. I ordered lobster and it was overcooked and chewy and another person ordered lobster and his was overcooked and chewy as well.. My daughter in law ordered crab legs, they were cold. Her steak came out rare and she had ordered medium rare. My steak was ordered medium rare and it was medium. So perhaps they were a bit overwhelmed that night, however I don't feel that is an excuse. All of the food was very fresh and fantastic - it is expensive. The homemade garlic bread is amazing. The salmon was unbelievably fresh and the dill dip paired well with it. I didn't use a ton of it but it's nice there's a lot available. The steak and grouper was very good. The fries were unimpressive however they're French fries so that's normal. The restaurant was remarkably clean - there wasn't a spec of dust, even on the window sill. The vents look recently cleaned as well. At 4, this place was jamming and the parking lot filled up fast. The place is a big cramped in terms of movement and parking. I wouldn't recommend young kids or people who have mobility devices unless they get a spot towards the front. The decor/dishes are cool and agge me joy. The iced tea is meh. Overall the service was top notch.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take the pictures of all the dishes that I ordered. Because when the food was served, I immediately ate it. I even ordered the full order of scallop appetizer to take home after I ate the one I ordered at the restaurant. Deep in my mind, I also wanted to order my main course, lobster & prime rib, to go too but I didn't want my waitress to think that I am crazy.

Have eaten here several times and have not been disappointed yet. Plan on spending some bucks, but food is worth it. Staff very friendly and they know everything about the menu. Would recommend.

Everything was delicious! Ribeyes are rhin but I asked for medium rare and it was still perfect and juicy!
Our server was very nice and kept our drinks full.
