Honestly very surprised, This place is always been amazing. To be fair I ordered my food through a delivery service 9/17/25 and I was very excited to have this offering. Our food arrived quickly And we ordered two entrees which included one side a piece We chose the same side of salads. Upon taking everything out of the bag there was only one salad. Kind of head scratching has it seemed to be a smaller easy order. We kind of brushed it off considering we got a small loaf of bread with our order too. That was also short-lived because the bread was absolutely stale I might even question if it was from yesterday. Seriously :-(. I really don't want to sound like I am trying to down this place because I'm telling you I have had some excellent dishes from here before, but I want to be honest with this experience too. The food was not cold, but definitely not hot. The only other thing I would recommend is that please remember that these dishes Not made fresh, but warmed and in these situations a little more sauce would be great or even list an option to purchase a little more sauce. Please please do better! I have had this food many times and have been satisfied and you have always done a good job. This is the first time for delivery so I don't know if you have different standards for that but please try to figure out something. Thank you.

Went here for the first time in years and now I have to make sure to go all the time. This is old school Italian - straight out of The Godfather. For that it gets high marks for ambiance if that is your thing. For service, unfortunately, they have joined the current age of not answering the phone, not having a hostess, and service being long and sparse. Updated Review - 1/30/25: Another Thursday night date night at Salute. We love this place. Delicious food, incredible service, and a great atmosphere. Tonight we had the Assorted Italian Meats and Cheeses for an appetizer, a Cheese and Sausage pizza, and Cheese Lasagna. My Lasagna came with a salad. We were also served warm bread. Everything was delicious! We had leftovers to take home for lunch tomorrow. We highly recommend eating at Salute!

I've given this place several chances, hoping that my previous experiences were just flukes, but unfortunately, it's been consistently disappointing. The pizza is genuinely awful. The crust is thick, doughy, and almost gelatinous, with a taste that reminds me of cardboard—absolutely no flavor. The sauce is bland, and the toppings are sparse. In addition to the pizza, I’ve tried their to-go sauces, which are overwhelmingly salty and nearly inedible.

On top of that, my daughter ordered a chicken Caesar salad, but it arrived with no chicken and no dressing. When I called to address the issue, they transferred me to what I assume was the person who made the salad, instead of offering me a manager, which I found completely unprofessional. This place is far from authentic Italian cuisine, and honestly, I’d even say Olive Garden offers a better dining experience.

We were going out to dinner with our family and had made a reservation. When we arrived we were told they gave our table to someone else by accident. We were offered a table 2 hours later without any other accommodations. If it were just adults wouldn’t be a huge deal, but we had hungry children with us. It should be an original Italian Pizza but it is in no way. The dough is more than a cookie, cheese on top of the rest. On one pizza 4 from 5 toppings are not on the pizza, as we asked about, we’ve got not a new pizza, the missing toppings are just thrown on the old one.

I was in Racine, WI for a few days and all of the locals raved about the lasagna at Salute. When I walked in, I instantly got a good vibe from the atmosphere. The workers all where smiling, and greeted me right away. They were short staffed when I went to dine, but they informed me right away and they still managed to keep my drink full and my food came out great timing. Every employee of this establishment were nice, helpful, and worked as a team. Now let's get to the food.. I ordered the Lasagna, it comes with baked bread and an Italian dinner salad. The Italian dressing here is homemade, absolutely delicious. I think they should sell it by the bottle. The lasagna came out and the portion was huge. I took one bite and I knew that this was the best lasagna I have had in my life. From the texture of the noodles, seasoning in the sauce, meat/cheese ratio.. Honestly there isn't one thing I didn't like about my meal, or. Absolutely delicious would 10/10 recommend.

I was disappointed and frankly very underwhelmed by Salute. I heard great things about this place from my neighbor and saw that it has a lot of great reviews as well.

To start off, the food was subpar. I could’ve made better food in my own kitchen. The bread was extremely chewy and the red sauce used in the pasta is extremely bland and just tasted like tomato. No taste of seasoning at all.

Additionally, if you want any kind of cocktail with your dinner, save you and your server some time, and just get a water. Our server told me they could make anything we wanted at the bar as they have a “fully stocked” bar. I ordered a lemodrop martini and I was informed they weren’t able to make it due to the lemonade dispenser being broken or something like that. Okay, fine. So I try ordering a peach Bellini instead. A classic Italian drink you’d think would be available at an Italian restaurant. But alas, they were unable to make that too. Reason unknown. So I order a Dirty Shirley instead, which arrived at our table approximately 5-10mins later. This was, by far, the WORST dirty Shirley I’ve ever had. It’s not that hard to put some grenadine in some Sprite with some regular ole vodka. However, they must have put in CHERRY flavored vodka and it completely ruined the drink.

The atmosphere was not that great. There was a large table of people (somewhere between 15 and 20) and they were incredibly obnoxious. We were tucked far away into the corner facing the road and all of the noise echoed in that small, very cramped space.

Overall, I’m glad I tried it. However, as someone who is madly in love with Italian food and grew up with traditional and authentic Italian cooking, I was extremely disappointed that this highly reviewed restaurant ended up being the one place I wanted to go for my birthday dinner this year.

We made an reservation 2 hours before when we arrived when we got there they had to look for a table which ended up small and right where the door was opening so very cold. We waited 15 minutes to be waited on and then waited over 40 minutes from entering for our glass of wine because there were no clean glasses. I Understand the staffing problem but how are there no glasses at 6 pm on a Saturday. Food was incredible as always but the experience was very frustrating. My friend and I were there for dinner, we got the calamari as a starter which is was good but not great. She had the shrimp fra diavolo and she said that it was good but it could be better. Salute makes by far the best Italian food in southeastern Wisconsin, and I am comparing them to some very expensive restaurants. Salute is not expensive at all. Real Italian food. Hands down this stuff should have a warning attached to it.
Don't operate heavy machinery or drive after consumption.
The portions are large and tou will leave with a to go container.
This is one spot I would definitely patronize.
Judging from the crowd and the 30 minute wait I exhausted to get seated. Tells me they are doing something right.

The restaurant staff was soooo pleasantly nice immediately when I entered about 2 minutes before closing and the staff did not hesitate to welcome my order. The hostess, the bartender and even one of the guest were nice. The food selection is awesome here and the outdoor area is beautiful. I will be back….

We are in from Pgh,PA. We picked this place from Google maps. Everything we had was amazing. The service was great and priced lower than going to olive garden. I highly recommend going here and we will return the next time we are in town.

This place was recommended by the hotel I was staying at and I could not have been happier with my experience.
The superb, friendly service and excellent home-made pasta ravioli, recommended by my server, made a brief stop in Racine a memorable evening. The warmth and kindness of the staff will be a reason to return if travelling this way again.

Had an unfortunate experience with takeout. We're in Racine on vacation. Called and placed an order for two pizzas and two pasta entrees for our family. Was told 25 minutes. Awesome! Rushed over there and walked in 25 minutes later. Was told will be another 10 minutes. No big deal. 15 more mins went by, then was told another 10. Seemed like they hadn't started the order yet. Place was moderately busy but not slammed. They just kept pushing us off. Decided I was going to leave when it was an hour past when they said (85 minutes total), but then they came rushing out with the order. Pizza was good, pasta was fine, they gave us salad instead of soup and forgot sauce on one of the pastas. No discount or no other consideration for having to sit there for an hour. Dang.

Many diners start off with an item from the bar. If beer is your preference, there’s a problem; the bar has no beers on tap and very limited options in bottle or can.

My wife’s first choice from the menu was unavailable for some reason. Her second choice, chicken piccata, rated mediocre when compared to other restaurants.

My choice, a restaurant specialty called Ann’s Ravioli, was the most bland, uninspired Italian dish I’ve ever eaten.

We had never been to (or heard of) Salute Italian Restaurant,but were pleasantly surprised with the food. Went with some friends to celebrate a birthday. The food was wonderful & the atmosphere very nice. One more place to add to our list of places to go for a special occasion.

I've heard such good things about the place, but was really disappointed my first time there. My husband and I ordered a pan pizza. The waitress came back about half an hour after we had ordered to let us know the cook added black olives on the whole thing (we don't eat black olives period). So we asked for a new one to be made and we'd take it to go.
We were there for an hour and a half! Luckily they gave yummy, hot, fresh bread with a meal to hold us over.
The waitress was super nice, attentive, sincerely apologetic and took some money off the bill.
When we finally returned home to eat, we were let down that our pizza had very little to no sauce. There was literally so many bare spots with no sauce, the very little sauce there was, was mostly along the crust. Without sauce, the pizza was extremely bland, not to mention how little amount of toppings they had put on it!
We will, however, return to try a new dish and give it a second chance, but I strongly don't suggest getting the pizza. I hope our next experience will "wow" us and show us why we've heard such good things about Salute. 🤞

This was m first time at Salute. The pasta is homemade, the bread fresh and the portions generous. Best value for the money. But the best part is the fact that you feel like you are dining with an Italian family. Highly recommend.
