These are some of the best pizzas I have had, we went there and they made them fresh to order you could see the guy in the back making them and chopping the fresh veggies and putting them in their big pizza oven. We ordered 2 smaller pizzas it didnt take longer than 15 minutes and had a full pizza to take home, it was reasonably priced and truthfully I would go back any time I am in Madison. The atmosphere was great, I loved that they had little flowers and a candle on every table!

We tried Salvatore's for dinner this evening. It was probably about 75% full when we arrived around 6:00 pm. They were able to seat the four of us immediately. Our waitress arrived promptly to take our order, but we asked for a few minutes to peruse the menu. In addition to dining in, they obviously do a brisk delivery service based on the boxes we saw being taken out the door during our stay there.
When our waitress returned, we ordered. A couple of pizzas, a salad, and a half Caesar salad. The half salad was delivered in just a few minutes and my friend who ordered it said it was delicious. Filled with parmesan chips, it looked amazing!
Then we waited. It became a really long wait. One of those waits where you notice that the folks behind you who came in after you and yet had already finished their meal. Our server had not stopped back after delivering the half salad and I kept expecting her to drop by and say, "they are working on it", or "it will be out soon" or just to see if we needed something. It was close to an hour later when she brought out the pizzas and salad. Not a word about the wait. Maybe they got really busy with delivery orders. Regardless, it felt like our waitress should have checked on us earlier. I almost felt like she was avoiding us because she realized it had been such a long time.
The pizzas were good. Tasty. I would certainly eat them again. The salad was great. I'm happy with the food, but the service was subpar. The ambiance was fine. A little loud when we first arrived but after the table next to us left it was fine.

Had an amazing dinner at Salvatore's Tomato Pie in Madison, WI! The restaurant has a super cute, cozy vibe with attentive and friendly service. We tried: Burrata with a fresh local salad, Italian Calabrian street corn, harvest salad, Rigatoni Bolognese, Shrimp Scampi with bucatini, and Hangar Steak with Frites....everything was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Service was exceptional.

The combination of fresh, locally sourced ingredients and authentic Italian flavors made the meal truly memorable. Highly recommend this spot for a date night, dinner with friends, or anyone looking for excellent Italian cuisine in Madison!

I recently visited and found that the desserts were the highlight, particularly the Butterscotch Budino. However, the pepperoni pizza was mediocre, and while the Woodsman pizza had great toppings, the dough was overly chewy. My fiancé and I were visiting from Ohio and this restaurant was recommended by the staff at our hotel. Hands down one of the best pizzas we have ever eaten. I intentionally wanted to review the place and submit a 3-star review to this 5-star establishment as the new policy of taking 3% for credit card transactions is a major turn-off and I hope more customers push back on this.

I won't be back until/unless that policy is gone. Too many establishments moving this way, as a business owner, that's a cost of doing business for you, not for me.

I do understand I can make the choice spend cash or debit instead. I am instead making the choice to look elsewhere for a night out.

My server Mitch was very attentive. He answered all the detailed questions I asked without getting bored and patiently helped me until he took my order. This shows how well he knows the menu and his job. Based on his recommendation, I ordered the Chicken Brown Sardi (I hope I'm not saying it wrong) and I was amazed by it! In short, the service was literally legendary and beyond. Also, the other waiter named Manda was very attentive as well. Servive was fast. Beside all these good things, I recommend adding Tiramisu in your menu so that I can come here every single day 😅

My wife, my toddler and I came in for dinner on a Saturday night and were able to get a table without a wait. The hostess and our server were both responsive and friendly. Easily the best pizza in Madison history. Also the very worst service from not only the pizza industry, but the entire Madison restaurant industry. There is no way to get a pie there without a 2 or more hour wait. The atmosphere in the place is vastly overcrowded, noisy, unpleasant, and with an ugly view of East Wash and a side street, so the option of dining in was also not viable. We tried a second time to save time by ordering over the phone for pick up and were told to arrive in 75 minutes. We were right on time and the pizza was STILL a half hour from being done, which forced us to wait in the cramped lobby with many other unsatisfied customers (who also don't like the vibe of the interior) .
I'd eat here more if they had their act together, but they know WAY more about creating good recipes than they do about properly managing a business. There is NO EXCUSE for a business being run this poorly (and the staff are nice but clueless Millennials), but I expect this review to cue the manager (or AI or HR person) to write a (fake) apologetic response and make excuses about how they are overworked.

For several years, Salvatores has been my 1st or 2nd favorite pizza ever... this last weekend i had it again for the first time in several months. They've changed something about they make a basic tomato pie - how it's put together or the cheese or both. It's just not the same and it is more like pizza you get at any other place. This is my first time visiting, so im not sure if their pizzas are always this bad, or if its just poor quality since i came in shortly before closing. Either way, my food was terribly substandard!
