Took 45 minutes to get our drink order. The drinks finally came 5 minutes before our food, which was fine.No compensation was offered for the long drink wait. One of the drinks involved pouring a glass of wine.

This is a place out of history and time. It retains a 1950s Northern Wisconsin feel. The food was just average I'm afraid to say. There was only one waitress and very few patrons. It felt very sad. Their glory days if they ever had any are long over. If they had an owner or a manager with foresight they could turn this place into an amazing restaurant if they wanted to, but they seemed content on just getting by. The salad bar was a plus and reminded me of the good old supper club days.

We got in to Door County later than expected last night, and went to Samuelson’s Creek right after we checked in at the White Birch Inn. Even though they were 20 minutes from closing, the staff was exceptionally accommodating and friendly! Our food was great as well- the Cod dinner was delicious. Thank you to the gals working there, so funny and welcoming for our first night in town!

When they say it's a hidden gem, it's true. Stopped here by chance and were delighted in the food. Wait staff was friendly and stopped by often though busy. It was a favorite restaurant of the trip! Prices were very reasonable.

Jedzenie jest dobre, ale nie powala. Natomiast obsługa i klimat miejsca są fenomenalne. Polecam spróbować drinka z lokalnymi wiśniami:)

If you are feeling a bit of a Bates Motel vibe when you first roll up resist the urge to leave! Food is worth it! We had a party of five and all of our sandwiches were great and the salmon too! It was a master class in fried foods for our sides and appetizers. The patio in the evening was super cozy as well!

One and done. I tried this restaurant for the first time and will never be back. My family was served unedible food. When we pointed out the problems to the watiress, she acted like it was our fault the food wasn't cooked to the proper temperature. We left as hungry as entered. They would only comp us our drinks of soda and coffee and said we are the first people to ever complain about the food.

This was the worst service ive ever had at a restaurant. The older waitress was slow, made us wait 30 minutes any time we asked for anything and was rude. Totally killed the experience and would never go there again.

This charming spot is a must-visit for anyone in the area. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a weekend getaway meal. The food is consistently delicious, and you can’t beat the prices for the quality. We make it a point to stop by every time we're here, and it never disappoints. The fact that they offer gluten-free buns is a huge plus for those with dietary restrictions, and their salad bar is a standout—fresh ingredients paired with some of the best dressings we've ever had. A true hidden gem!

The bartender was super nice! But the food was eh shrimp scampi isn't shrimp scampi just jumbo shrimp, the crab won tons is just breading with a tiny punch of crab. We never got offered water or any drinks when we sat down to eat and she didn't come check on us at all I had to go up to the bartender to ask for water. The worst part was when the half dressed rude dishwasher was taking our plates we were still eating off of and got a major attitude when I tried to tell her I was still eating and wouldn't put the plate back down I had to grab it out of her hand. Then she came back with an attitude "aM I allOWed tO taKe THis plATe". I would go somewhere else unless you're just looking for some drinks. Plenty of lovely places around this area.

Unsure we arrived at right location at first. Outside seating was peaceful. The home-made salad dressings were amazing! Gem hidden among the busy area.

Atmosphere is nice which is good because you'll be waiting forever for everything. Server never even asked how our drinks were or how our food was.

Absolutely ridiculous service. Had to wait half an hour to get a drink order. They had plenty of staff too. 4 servers for 9 tables. Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else.

Service here is absolutely terrible. You basically need a reservation or they won't serve you. We had a reservation for 715 and no one even acknowledged we were standing by the hostest stand until 730. It then took another 20 minutes before a drink order was taken. Expect about 25 minutes at least in between each interaction with the wait staff. Overall time in the restaurant (and didnt stay this long by choice) was 2 hours. Food was mediocre at best. Do not recommend.

This place was a joke…the waitress was nice, but it was absolutely laughable. We tried to leave one & a half hours into our order having not yet been served…and they comped us a soda…total joke and would NEVER go back there ever again! Do yourself a favor and get McDonald’s instead!!!!

They are understaffed but also have people working who don't know their systems (can't figure out that they need to press "submit" on the tablet) and don't realize their mistakes until 40 minutes later (when the food should be coming out). This is after they forgot our drink orders initially and took 10 minutes to come back and get the orders again. Don't worry, they comped the cheapest food order (a $12 burger).

Was on patio at about 5. Didn't have breakfast or lunch and ordered the fried cheese which was a Mexican queso caramelized with a bourbon spicy drizzle and a siracha raspberry sauce. It was delish. I ordered the Thanksgiving sandwich on a delightful potato roll with melted brie. Inexpensive and 3 meals worth. It was delish and not too heavy. Yes I know its July but Thanksgiving is always good. My husband had a steak, was very happy. They were a bit short staffed yet out waitress was kind, as prompt as she could be and funny. Definitely will go back

Even though they were short staffed, they served us with a smile and were so friendly. The food was great! We went on Friday for the fish fry specials and walked away with happy tummies. Bev was great and gave us great recommendations on things to do! Def a gem!

This is a nice cozy place with plenty of space. The tables are spacious with a focus on comfort rather then people craming which is a nice change up from the usual crowded dinning which is typical of most door county dinning establishments. The bar is retivliy small accommodating only abot 7 people. Despite its small size it boasts a impressive liquor selection as well as some craft beers. There is a small salad bar which is a little underwhelming but it would satisfy the basics. The crowd seems to be a mix of older and middle aged groups of 4-6 people. The menu has a generous amount of options that that seem like elevated takes on alot of door county favorites. So tonight I'm trying the half naked cheese curds, jumbo smoked wings in the pablono cherry BBQ sauce, the home made sea food chowder, and the cod dinner plate. The appetizers where amazing. The cheese curds where very good and the magic sauce was a real hit. The smoked jumbo wings where huge, but so juicy and savory. The pablono cherry BBQ sauce was a interesting twist that went well with the smokiness of the wings. The seafood chowder was spot on with a creamy rich base and great flavor, it honesty left me wanting more. The cod dinner was done simple but exceptionally well. Two large pieces of cod with a thin and crispy beer battering.
My final thoughts, samuelson's is a nice cozy restaurant that offers delicious food.

This hole in the wall was a little tough to find, but it’s inside White Birch Inn. The staff was amazingly friendly and attentive, the food is well priced for Door county. Really awesome food, seriously the brisket is one of the best ever (and we’ve been ALL over the south) with how tender it was with the delicious cherry pablano sauce!! Check this out for sure!!

One of our favorite spots. The food has always been top shelf and the atmosphere is quaint with a friendly staff. Their Friday fish fry is one of the best in the area. The only draw back is the local family that we have seen there a couple times. Nothing ruins a good dinner than watching an alcohol fueled family feud. Obnoxious loud wife making sure everyone is watching and rude loud kids who drive the show. We will definitely be back but, if that same couple are in attendance, we will find our dining elsewhere. Scary to think they will be driving with the kids when they leave.

Food was good, service was good, had an overcooked steak that we sent back, came back good. Feel like the staff needs more training or needs shift pre brief on things like craft beer availability and steaks available. Had to coach our server on beers and server had to go see if a particular cut on the regular menu was available because they were out the night before. Also had an incorrect order of fish delivered to table, but we rolled with it.

Since we were staying in the hotel, we thought we might as well grab dinner after checking in. We brought our dog with us, and thankfully they allow pets in the outdoor patio around back. However, our waitress was not attentive enough nor did she explain the salad bar and menu to our satisfaction (though she did say she was pretty new). We shared the Chicken Drummies appetizer and the pecan Whitefish, both of which were bland and lacking flavor in our opinion. The salad bar was small but taste fine, but we were never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks and we waited quite a while for our waitress to attend to us after our meal was served.
We would likely not return to eat here again.

Great food at reasonable prices. Cute and cozy little place with nice salad bar and homemade salad dressings. The unique cob style fireplace in the entrance is a nice touch. They have an outdoor seating area on the balcony in warmer months. Service is usually pretty decent. The hotel attached is called The White Birch Inn. We haven't stayed at the hotel so I can't speak for the accommodations but it certainly looks like it has potential.

We stopped in for a Saturday lunch while visiting relatives in Sturgeon Bay.
Rustic setting and friendly staff.
Enjoyed an assortment of their specialties on the 'Q' Platter. We also ordered Chicken Toffles. Tasty!
