No warning about being backed up, no checking in, etc. The couple next to us gave up and left and they were there before we sat down. Food was spicier than normal but was mediocre. Nightmare. We ordered $225 of food, and left a $75 tip, and came to pick it up about 20 minutes later. When we arrived, they told us it would be a 30 minute wait. So we went to a bar and had a drink. Came back 30 minutes later and were told that they were just starting to prep our order and that it would be another 15 minutes. We have a houseful of hungry people waiting on these clowns. Spend your money elsewhere.

The food here is always worth it but the rest of the experience was poor. There was only one server in the whole restaurant, including the bar, during peak lunch service on a Friday. There needs to be more than one person taking care of 15 tables. With that being said, we brought our 2 year old daughter and we waited 20 minutes to be spoken to or to be given any water. We waited over an hour for food. They would not substitute shrimp for my daughter's meal even with an upcharge. The server was overwhelmed and extremely busy but I watched her take at least 3 orders, put them in the computer and fill 2 different tables water refills before she said a word to us. We waited with a toddler for 1.5 hours, until lunch was almost over at 2pm, to eat. we were not compensated in any way for the lack of service. Disappointing and very frustrating because we love the food here.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit. I placed an order for takeout, and despite ordering through your website, there was a significant delay. My order was misplaced, and I had to wait an additional 30 minutes for it to be remade.
​While I appreciate that mistakes can happen, I was frustrated by the lack of concern and the dismissive attitude of the staff, and passing off the blame as "Not our fault" well, it was your order printer that ran out of paper, so I certainly had nothing to do with that.
​After finally receiving my order, I returned to my hotel and discovered that the sticky rice was missing. While the food I received was delicious, the overall experience was severely tarnished by the poor service and multiple errors.

I ordered the avacodo roll, tom kha soup w/added shrimp, karee curry, & the green bean & calamari appetizer & had it delivered. The food was EXCELLENT!! I didn't much care for the green bean & calamari as it was soggy from delivery. But, I'm sure it's most likely better eating it at the restaurant as it would be a crunchy delight. My wife and I had dinner here on Thursday evening and we're pleasantly surprised by how busy the restaurant was. It is really nice to see downtown Janesville hopping! I love Pad Thai and the dish that I chose included shrimp and chicken. It did not disappoint! As soon as I was done with it I told my wife that I couldn't wait to come back! She had a vegetarian dish with tofu that she equally loved. Even though the restaurant seemed busy, the 3 ladies that were serving all the guests (they were also acting as hostesses and bar tenders) were friendly and didn't act harried at all. This Thai spot in downtown Janesville is super cute—great ambiance, good music, and would probably make for a nice date night location. It’s located right near the courthouse and close to the Olde Towne Mall area. Parking is limited, so be prepared to walk a bit.

I’m vegan, and I ordered takeout—specifically the basil fried rice with tofu. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The rice was extremely dry and lacked flavor, which is surprising for Thai food. This is usually a go-to dish that most Thai restaurants do really well, so it caught me off guard.

Staff was polite and friendly during pickup, but the overall experience just didn’t meet expectations. I also noticed they didn’t have change available, so if you pay in cash, your total may be rounded up—just something to be aware of.

The portion size was small for the $18 price tag, and while I appreciate that they offer vegan options, the flavor and value just weren’t there this time. I’m surprised by the high rating (around 4.4 stars), but I’m guessing that might be based on non-vegan dishes.

Maybe I’ll try something else in the future, but based on this first experience, it wasn’t worth it. My main recommendation: cook with flavor and improve the quality of takeout orders to match the atmosphere.

We love Thai food, so when we were in Janesville recently we were excited to try this place. They have all the classics, but some specialties and unique twists too.
It was hard to narrow down what to get, but when our server said the Panang Curry was her favorite, I couldn’t resist, and it was perfection. My friend had the Pad Se Eiw, which was offered with tilapia and scallops as a protein choice, just excellent with the chewy fresh rice noodles. My husband tried the Kow Soi, which was a huge bowl of comforting noodles in a delicious creamy yellow coconut broth.
Servers were very helpful and gave great suggestions, and the atmosphere with the brick walls and colorful decor was charming, can’t wait to try more of the menu!

Quite simply some of the best Thai food I’ve had anywhere. I was genuinely surprised to find a place of this caliber in Janesville. The flavor, freshness, and care in every dish were unmistakable. Like all well-crafted food, each plate is prepared with intention, and that care comes through in every bite. Be patient and supportive—especially on a busy night—the staff works hard, and the quality is absolutely worth it.

Chef and owner Beer clearly takes pride in every detail. The staff—Chantal, Fon, and Daylena—are outstanding: knowledgeable, welcoming, and professional. They go above and beyond to make you feel cared for. They’re locals who support their families and bring real value to the community. Be sure to tip them well.

We were only in Janesville for the weekend and came two nights in a row, both times with friends. Everyone at our table was impressed. I highly recommend the Shrimp Bacon Wrap—crispy, savory, and perfectly balanced with a sweet plum sauce—and the Garlic Black Pepper Chicken, which had just the right kick and was beautifully presented with cucumber and tomato. The Panang Curry was another standout: creamy, rich, and deeply flavorful. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Restaurants like this should be cherished—not just for the incredible food but for the people who make it all happen. Thank you to everyone at Sandee’s for the wonderful meals and hospitality. We’ll be back anytime we’re in town. Just excellent flavor.

Update 3/7/25: They no longer have the pick up option working on their website. So only the smile dining, with $$5.95-$8 fee I’ve gotten so far. Phone was still not working. I noticed a lot of ppl use door dash since the restaurant was packed on Friday night. They got our order wrong missing items. Understandable given how busy. I would use DoorDash next time, versus coming back twice to wait for our orders. And I really do think they lose business bc no one is answering their phones. Jan 20: Tried to call a pick up order + phone call would not go through. It kept saying that voicemail was not set up. I think someone left the phone off the hook. I went through their website and selected their online pick up: smile dining and it charges $7.54 service charge plus the prices were higher. I found out later, it would have been cheaper to select delivery option, then to choose pick up. Then there was no service fee. They should honestly take the smile dining off their website. They have the best Asian food. But management should watch service quality. The other ppl are outstanding.

For $28, I ordered a shrimp and scallops teriyaki meal. The scallops were bay scallops, not sea, so hugely disappointed. They were very fishy and I wasn't able to eat them. The menu should have stated they were bay, not sea scallops. Also, it was mostly veggies. Shrimp were small (31-40 count, likely), and only 5 or 6. The avocado appetizer was fabulous! My hubs ordered Sandee's seafood noodle, something. It was okay, but it was not worth $35. Our server was great, though I ordered my food waaaay too spicy, and it took a while to get more water. I love Sandee’s Thai Fusion! I’ve eaten in various countries, cities, and states, but nothing compares to their Panang Curry with fried tofu and jasmine rice—it’s one of my all-time favorite meals! I love that they offer the option for this dish, and several others, to be made vegan. It’s so hard to find good vegan food in this city.

Their mango sticky rice is another highlight—an absolute must-try. The quality and consistency of their food are always top-notch, with fresh tasting ingredients and careful preparation. Even their packaging is impeccable.

While it’s a bit pricey, the food is well worth it as a treat every now and then. I’ve never had a single complaint about this place, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

This was our first visit to this establishment. We will have to go back and try this place one more time. The biggest complaint I have was the wait time (1 Hour) between the App and the Entree. We had the Summer Roll for an Appetizer. The Roll was wrapped a little too loose, but otherwise it was pretty good. I had Massaman Curry. The Curry was not very warm in the Temperature department. I ordered Medium for spice, so next time I definitely need to go spicier. The Medium seemed more like a Mild. However, the Flavor was awesome and I will have to try this again. The only complaint is that the Onions needed to be cooked a little more. The Fried Rice was cooked very well and the Flavor was on point. Overall a good place but the wait time for the Entree could be improved.

This Is a gem of a place in Janesville Wisconsin. I saw friends I hadn't seen in 6 years there. It was so beautiful.
I loved sitting in the booths that were imported from Thailand. I loved the m curry at a spicey #4, but I definitely could have done a five.

The food was AMAZING! I was just there and I need more already. My husband and I enjoy trying new resturants and rarely go to the same place twice but we have been to Sandee's twice already and are looking at going back again. My husband enjoys spicy while I do not and there are plenty of options for us both. Staff is attentive and knowledgeable, able to answer any questions we had about the menu. It’s so rare to have a perfect experience these days but holy smokes this place did it! I didn’t even have to spend an arm and a leg 🤣 We were with our 3 month old, the place is super family friendly.

I ordered the Kow Soi. The flavors were wonderfully balanced with the spicy Thai chilis. Served hot and fresh! Ordered and had food within only 10 minutes possibly? Again, wonderful experience.

The food here is fresh and amazing! The in person experience is a little slow, around 1 hour for a table of 4 to receive the food. I have also done take out and that send to be faster.

Also the heat scale from 1 - DEATH(5) is crazy! I like heat, but apparently I can't take Thai heat. I stick to a 1 and if I'm feeling crazy I will go for a 2.

Ordered ahead 1 hour and pulled into town. Downtown area didn't feel safe. Waited 45 minutes for food as people were seated, ordered, and served. Not authentic Thai, more like Chinese-American, not my type of food- very dissatisfied after traveling 400 miles and not eating all day.

We weren’t sat for the first 15 minutes we walked in, even when there were at least 3 servers, and 4 open tables that weren’t cleaned yet. It was a small atmosphere and wasn’t very busy but we didn’t even get waters or a drink order to start; we waited 12 more minutes before we decided to leave.

The food was delicious in flavor but the pad se eiw was unfortunately overcooked and soft. The curry was amazing! The waitresses were kind and bubbly, but pretty distracted with eachother which left them unaware that we were missing silverware/napkins, and forgetting water refills when we were the only ones in the restaurant. We managed with some chopsticks once food was delivered, and just made sure to be very careful not to get any food on our faces, and it is the only reason I'm giving a 4. Overall I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and would recommend it.

Sat at the table next to the window. Windows was filthy, floor was filthy and service was poor. Will not eat there again. Cleanliness is utmost for a restaurant. If it is this dirty where customers eat I can not imagine what the kitchen looks like.

Came in with a very large party and they accommodated us well. Food came out fairly quickly. All of our dishes were outstanding. Highlights were the spicy Pad Prik Pow and the grouper. Prices very reasonable and service friendly. A very solid choice especially for Janesville.

Everything was just OK. Food was not authentic as expected since the restaurant has "fusion" in its name. Waitress was quiet and didn't seem engaged. She did check on us once. I tried the pad se eiw. It was pretty good. Interior needs a face life and better dining tables/chairs. Overall, 3 stars.

Recently, tried this restaurant and it is now one of my favorite place in Janesville. We had the Mozzarella Balls, Avocado Rolls, Tom Yum Soup, and Pad Thai. I would eat that soup every day if I could. You can choose to get the Pad Thai not spicy, or spicy. If you choose spicy you can pick the level of spice 1-5. I love this restaurant and the food. Highly recommend.

Great food! Ordered the massaman curry with extra pineapple and was very happy with my choice. The peanut sauce that came with springs roles was excellent!! The pad thai was exactly as expected. There was a weird smell of burning plastic when walking in the front door, hopefully that was something temporary.

Love it! Soo happy janesville has a thai resturant. Ive eaten inside a few times, but i usually end up ordering pick up on their website. I have tried most of the items on the menu, but my all time favorite: chicken satay, pad prik pow, and a thai iced tea. Its sooo good! When dining in, service can be hit and miss. I've never experienced a problem, but I have a few friends who say their service left something to be desired. Overall, great resturant and fantastic food.

The Thai tea tasted a little odd from what I'm used to, and I do wish the sticky rice was served in larger portions, as I ran out before I finished my dish.
