Love this place!!! I’ve never had a bad experience here. Their customer service is top notch and the food is fabulous! They do offer hibachi but it’s without the show, but does not lack in taste! It’s my favorite hibachi and sushi place. Kevin is our favorite server! I promise you won’t be disappointed… my favorites is the Salmon Hibachi dinner with fried rice, and the Volcano Sushi roll.

I don’t often leave reviews, but the service here was awful and after seeing an average 4.6 stars I don’t understand how. The food was decent, well prepared but very average quality. But our service was truly shockingly rude. We came for lunch at 1pm on a Friday and we were treated as an inconvenience to the wait staff from the moment we sat down. Rushed to order mid conversation, annoyed glares from our waiter when we asked for more time to read through the menu. And as we finished talking at the end of our meal, they cleared our waters to signal “get out now” despite staying only 10 minutes past the closed time between lunch and dinner.

Food was amazingly delicious! Always 10/10 whenever I am here. However, our server definitely ruined the mood of our dine in experience and this was the first I believe we have been served by him and he left a bad impression. After ordering with my boyfriend, I had asked for something else but to be put on a separate tab because I was going to bring it home. He got super annoyed and sighed and even rolled his eyes. I was definitely taken aback by his reaction to something so little I had asked for. He never checked in with us and asked we needed anything else. I’ve read a review similar to this post and I think it is the same server, Kevin. You can tell he hates where he works and his customers. I really love the food so I will always keep eating here, but definitely don’t want him as a server again. Even if you’re having a bad day you never let it show to your customers! I think there’s definitely a line you have to draw when it comes to personal and work life balance. If you are coming off negatively your customers will definitely feel that energy and it radiates!! Anyways sorry for the long post.

Have been here many times in the past five years, had the best service tonight (5/27). Asked for dessert, was told the kitchen was closed(which I was totally okay with), and once the server found out it was my birthday, he made it happen. We had an absolutely fantastic time at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. Our waiter, Hiro, made the evening even more special with his friendly service and great attention to detail. He made sure we had everything we needed and checked in often without being overbearing.

I ordered the hibachi scallops, and they were outstanding. Perfectly cooked — tender, buttery, and full of flavor. The portions were generous, and everything from the fried rice to the vegetables was fresh and delicious.

Overall, it was one of the best hibachi experiences I’ve ever had. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for amazing food, a fun atmosphere, and excellent service. Be sure to ask for Hiro — he truly made the evening memorable!

The servers were all wearing gloves (for food safety), and they offer a warm, moist towelette with their introduction.
My server was very careful to explain and double-check my order to make sure I was getting what I was looking for.
All the servers were very attentive and polite.
They even box up leftover food to go for you right at the table.

Stopped in while passing through on a non-national holiday and they stated they aren’t honoring their lunch menu or any of their lunch specials due to the “holiday”. I was going to order a quick lunch to go but nope, stuck ordering one of their regular items. No signs, nothing online, you can even submit an order online for their lunch specials, watched two other groups arrive and then promptly leave after being seated due to this above issue. At the very beginning, when my husband and I started going to this restaurant, everything was wonderful, we were served by a short girl, very smiling and friendly, after that we began to come across a young man named Kevin who does not smile and does not say hello, he did not introduce himself, what is his name and we found his name only on the check, he did not approach us for a very long time to take an order when we were already ready, he did not approach us during the whole time to ask if we needed anything else, he did not bring out the food for a very long time as if on purpose, there were a lot of damaged dishes in which the food is brought out, but this would not be as scary as the way the waiter behaves, he aggressively closes the menu and silently quickly leaves, you can tell from his face that this work irritates him, and he hates the customers he serves, we really liked the food in the restaurant, but after this young man we will not go there anymore, I hope the owner of the restaurant will do something about this so that in the future guests are happy with their waiter!

Great sushi in the Midwest! Had a nice experience at Sapporo. No wait when we arrived. We were seated promptly. The waitress was very nice. She learned of my gluten allergy when I asked if they had tamari and she was able to offer substitutions for items that contained gluten, such as the imitation crab in the included California roll as well as their salad dressing. She was very quick to refill the water, clear plates, and bring the check. It was a very nice dining experience.

Usually, my fiancé and I love it here and always have an amazing time/great food. However, tonight, the word dissatisfied doesn't even begin to cover it. We ordered for pick up, and it said pick-up time would be 5:26. Knowing it's Valentine's Day, and seeing how crazy busy it was, he waited 20 minutes to go get our food. He was in that restaurant for about an hour and a half, and not once was he even acknowledged. He ended up leaving foodless. I understand being crazy busy on Valentine's Day and that the employees are probably extremely stressed and overwhelmed and just want to be with their loved ones as well, I get all of that I really do, but its just terrible customer service and rude to not even acknowledge people.

I started going when they opened. I don't know why it took so long to catch on. Now they are very busy. Super clean, perfect service, delicious food, and formal but kind owners and staff. I go for sushi and it is wonderful and fresh. My husband loves hibachi. We dine in, take out, a little of both, and it is wonderful every time. TRUE STORY
I take daily chemo and a few years ago, I was there for sushi with my friend who also had cancer. We both ate there because it was so delicate on our stomachs. He went to the bathroom and I heard a man at another table telling Sharon that he had stomach cancer, and it was all he could eat. Then another guy said he had cancer too! Four of us were eating lunch here because it was so fresh and gentle at a time when we really needed it!

Sapporo should get 3.5 stars, because their draft beer should be fresher and the floor should be degreased. Otherwise the food is excellent and most servers are responsive and smiling like in Japan. Sushi and sashimi are very close to what you find in Japan. See pics.
One glaring error / omission is the lack of oroshi with tempura. This is grated (shredded) daikon that we put into the dipping sauce. Also, we don’t want any lemon touching our sushi or sashimi.
They have a few high grade sake too. One thing I do to evaluate Japanese restaurants is sample their agetofu 揚げ豆腐. See pic. This is hard to make for a variety of reasons. Sapporo gets it right.

I placed a larger order of Sushi Rolls and Sashimi. When I picked up my order and got to work to unpacked it. They put lemon slices in with my Sashimi; Which partially cooked it (savichi style). I called and spoke with the Day Manager and he didn't care. He argued with me telling me Lemon doesn't cook fish. He told me people order it with Lemon (I did NOT).
