The food is always good. But the service is getting worse. Been here a few times in the last couple of months. Debating if I should go back or not. Shouldn’t have children running the place with no adults showing them how to run it. It just keeps getting worse. Waiting 20 minutes just to be asked what we wanted to eat. Unacceptable!

I’ve came to sawyer joes multiple times, and for the most part it has been somewhat decent. But when you walk in there, grab a table and sit there for 20 minutes without anyone asking if you want a water or anything then it becomes an issue…. the food is subpar and has only gotten worse since they opened. Quickly going down hill in a hurry.

I had hashbrowns with scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon and onions and a waffle. all was good. waitress was extremely nice. the kitchen staff took care not to cross-contaminate so i would have an allergoc reaction. definitely recommend if you're in ellsworth, wi.

I usually take a vacation twice a year to Nugget Lake Wisconsin. Within just a few miles of the park is SawyerJoe’s this is a awesome little café and we come here and get breakfast.

Met up with family, and 3 of the 5 adults got horribly sick later on in the day, having only eaten here all day. I found a piece of a wooden skewer in my wrap once I got home, too. There was no sign that a skewer had been used to hold the wrap together. Waitress was friendly, but she was overly concerned I didnt like my wrap, too, which was odd at the time, but has come to my attention that our waitress was the owner so makes more sense. Food was very slow getting to table and came out in 2 groups almost 10 minutes apart. Place was not overly busy, just maybe 2 or 3 other tables.

Ordered an All American Cheeseburger, got a seniors Cheeseburger.
The supposed patty was more like a wafer. Almost paper thin, burnt on the edge, over cooked and dried out.
Then I found a dark hair in my French fries.
Not a good dining experience!

The food was awful. The only thing anyone in our group liked was the pancakes (and we tried 8 different meals). The music playing in the background was not at all pleasant to listen to. Bathrooms were dark and dirty.

Stopped in for a late lunch. The place was clean and inviting. The service was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and fruit. The chicken breast was thick and juicy, just the way it should be. The fruit was melon, it was ripe and delicious. The prices are really good for what you get.

Great food! Friendly customer service. Only oops was forgetting my husband's wheat toast, and he ate it while waiting for me to finish.
Screaming child was a bit distracting. Always possible when eating out anywhere. Just a shame the parents didn't care what their child was doing, or affecting other customers. I guess hubby and I grew up in a different world and time.
Even so, great food and we will be back again!

Only 2 servers on, I get it staffing is hard. Brought out our food and told us our toast would be coming. Never got it. My husband finally asked for his, the server brought him his, but not mine. Oh well saved me some calories. But we won't go back.

Live in Ellsworth but I have no clue who the owners are, so please take this an an unbiased review....I've eaten here quite a few times and have NEVER been disappointed. I'm sure the cooks will have an off day here and there, we all do. I know breakfast supplies are cheap but I feel like their prices are EXTREMELY cheap. Haven't ever had bad service either. I'm a little surprised they have some harsh reviews just based on eating here so many times and never experiencing any issues.

The cook needs to learn how to do poached eggs 🥚. Hashbrowns were not done. Poached eggs 🥚 were hard after I asked them to be soft poached. Toast was not cut. Over all rating. Give him a D. Should have went to the Table on Main street in River Falls.

Went in for breakfast this morning to get the special that was advertised on Facebook for September 11th. The owner doesn’t show up after a night of drinking to help out her staff very sad. You can’t advertise something and then not show up to work. I wouldn’t recommend this place. The waitress/host/and kitchen staff did amazing. To bad they didn’t have a boss that cared. They even had to kick three tables out this morning that didn’t even get breakfast, because the owner told them to lock the doors. She told one of the waitress to take 40.00 out of the register and leave and never come back.Please explain to me if that’s professional. How are you going to keep the business running when you can’t even show up to do your job. I will not be returning to this place.
