Went here my boyfriend and it was phenomenal!!! Food was hot, quick, flavorful and presented well.

For an appetizer, we started with chips and queso which was tasty. And my pollo and dojo pork tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had! 😍 even the cilantro rice was delicious! 5 stars from me and we will be back! ☺️

One of the better dining experiences in Kenosha! The beans were SO good! All of the tacos had a strong personality so be mindful when you order. Drinks were great too!

Ask for Natalie. Really a wonderful server. Shrimp tacos were out of this world. Avoid the Korean taco offering, just not masterful work on the shell, but flavors are incredible.

This was quite possibly my worst dining experience in Kenosha. The food was inedible, nothing had a ton of flavor and the little flavor it did have was SO BAD. I ordered the Poblano Caesar Salad with chicken (which I had assumed would be hard to mess up) was abhorrent. The presentation of the salad looked (and definitely tasted) like I was eating cat food. HIGHLY recommend not even giving this place a chance. What a shame, could have been a wonderful restaurant as the inside is beautiful and full of potential.

Great service! Food was a bit spicier than what I was expecting.

I ordered the steak taco dinner. I am a bit of a wuss when it comes to spices 😂. So what might be too much for me is just right for most people.

The food was amazing, very flavorful! Not you typical tacos. The food was hot and fresh, did not come off as if it was microwaved or reheated. We had several drinks and I’m feeling good all away around. Wait for desert and if It’s anything like all the rest, yeah!!!!!

I tried the steak tacos, and they were yum! Perfect size for someone like me who doesn't eat a lot! My (often picky) daughter tried the shrimp tacos, and she also liked them :) my husband, who always has an apetite, had a combination taco plate, which he really loved.
All very good prices.

Food was excellent! My husband says his tacos were flavorful and had tasty salsas. I had the mole enchiladas, which were quite nice as well; the sauce had a complex flavor that I really enjoyed. The restaurant was a little loud, so we had to raise our voices to speak, but that’s not uncommon and didn’t put us off (though might overstimulate small children or those sensitive to noise). Very nice experience.

My first time trying here, great customer service, atmosphere was great besides flies, flying around the whole time couldn't really enjoy my food. Ordered a strawberry margarita and it was extremely sweet it was not well balanced at all. Also order chips and guacamole and the chips that came with the guacamole was extremely salty, the salsa had a different taste it was like a smoky flavor, I didn't to much care for. My steak was nice and tender for my tacos, the pinto beans was flavorless and bland and the rice was a lil to mushy for me but it had great flavor. I probably would not be back, I wanted to try something new, but I wasn't impress, everything had a distinct taste to it.

I am actively writing this as we're dining. To my credit, I've been working in kitchen for over a decade, have opened multiple restaurants and built menus from scratch.

1 tray of chips for a birthday party of 6. Not a huge crowd but come on...

No lettuce for tacos? No sour cream? American, white, and pepper jack cheese over Chihuahua?

Bloody Maria with literally no toppings. 1 small sprig of cilantro (or parsley? Pictured.)

$24 for these pathetic "quesabirria" tacos (see picture). First of all this is beef not goat. If you're gonna lie to people at least make the portion worthwhile. Consomme is hot bloody Mary mix with some tomato juice to thin it out.

Dojo pork is 1000000000000% NOT pork belly, it's pork tenderloin chopped up. The only thing remotely right with those is the steamed buns and pickled onions.

No idea what the hell the rice and beans were supposed to be. Bean soup? White rice? Pinto beans in a bowl? Let's be so for real.

Enjoy the perpetual "soft open" coz at this rate that's as far as y'all will get.

I don't normally dump on places but for these prices in this economy having this audacity is absolutely disconnected from the food and purely looking at profits. There's no wonder this place is almost completely empty on a Saturday night. The service was great and I know it's neither FOH or BOH fault but come on, have some integrity. The only stars here are for the service and cheap influencer aesthetic.

Went in a sat down, there was only two tables of people sitting and eating. After 5 mins someone sat me down. Five mins later they came back and asked if I wanted a drink and I said I wanted to order cause I was on lunch break and he said hold on and walked away. 15 mins after that I left because no one ever came back to take my order or even talk to me. There was more workers there then customers and none of them cared about a person in the building for over 20 mins with no drink who hasn’t even gotten to place their order yet. What a horrible establishment. Never going back, if they ever actually get busy they are doomed. Go anywhere else, this place is corporate garbage and treats their customers like Wal Mart.

ETA- amazing drinks!!

I plan on updating my review later, but it's sad to me how someone can add a 1 star review because a business hasn't officially opened yet, and they did zero research. I hope they update their review.

My 5 stars are based on the mouth-watering pictures they've shown on their social media leading up to the soft opening today. I'm looking forward to it and I know I won't be disappointed. Future date nights will be a blast!

Congrats on the soft opening, Sazon!

8/24/25 me and My Husband just left Sazon Restaurant. And honestly, I could say the atmosphere was very pretty but the food was very horrible! The salsa and chips was very good. Every last one of our tacos was VERY SALTY! I had the dojo taco and My Husband had 3 Carne Asada tacos and 1 Shrimp taco. I couldn’t believe every day is one of those taco tacos was very salty. So that’s our experience for today. I will never be back there again, unless they have a new cook . 🧑‍🍳 That place will most definitely raise your blood pressure. Everything was totally salty.

We enjoyed our meal but the carnitas tacos were extremely spicy. Too much for us. We feel they should rate the heat of the meal. Our mouths were on fire. The fish, chicken and steak tacos were fine as far as heat goes. My husband loved the Cilantro Margarita and I loved the Cadillac margarita. The chips and salsa and also the pinto beans with ham were very tasty! Very sweet waitress and fun ambiance. The homemade tortillas and fresh ingredients were amazing.

Update…. Came back again and had a great time and meal! And the waiter told us the carnitas were spicy and asked if we wanted sauce on the side etc. Nice job Saźon! 😃

To be fair, we went during a 'soft' opening & were asked for patience, so we were. The food was outstanding. Truly. So many interesting types of tacos to choose from. Between everyone in our party we probably ordered one of every kind & not one disappointed. SO flavorful & visually appealing. The pork belly one, while not something I'd typically try, was especially good. A couple in our group ordered cocktails & said they were also good. The service was not the best, but again, a 'soft' opening & we were fairly warned. The food definitely made up for it. I'm sure the service will get there. Definitely worth a try!

If you are looking for anything close to authentic Mexican food this is not it. We had steak tacos with rice and beans, a single shrimp taco and a single cod taco. The steak tacos were bitter and simply unappetizing. The shrimp taco had two different aioli with bold, conflicting flavors which overwhelmed the shrimp. The rice was a short grain and flavorless. The beans were a porridge with way too much garlic and salt. The house margarita was average. Although Sazon offers a nice selection of tequilas I found the food flavors to be quite puzzling.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon and was immediately seated. The place itself is decorated very nicely, very bright with lots of light coming in and some cute fake plants.

Got chips and salsa brought quickly to the table. Chips were typical tortilla chips. Salsa was pretty good though! Kind of sweet with a nice chipotle kick. I really liked it.

We started off with a queso fundido. The flavor for the queso was okay, but texture was kind of runny. Would have liked more of a thicker, cheesy texture you usually get from a queso fundido. A cheese-pull, if you will, that you get from a chihuahua cheese. This was more velveeta, which again, the flavor is okay, just would have appreciated a better texture. The chips also had a seasoning on them that I don’t think was needed, in my opinion. It was also put on top of the queso I think.

I got a frozen passion fruit margarita. It was alright, but I was given two small cocktail straws to go with it which made it difficult to drink because the ice would get stuck in the straw. Ended up not drinking all of it out of frustration and not wanting to ask for another straw. Not the end of the world.

For my main course I got the poblano Caesar I believe. It was okay. Could have used some sort of seasoned grilled protein for flavor.

Husband got the shrimp taco dinner, which was pretty good. The tortillas were homemade and had a lot of flavor themselves. The combo of the mango salsa and shrimp was yummy. The frijoles they came with were seasoned well and very good. I did not try the rice that came with the tacos.

Very limited menu as they have not had their grand opening yet. More alcohol than food, but looks like they add things every week. Service was quick and waitresses were nice.

Had the 3 steak taco meal and it did not disappoint—absolutely delicious! The tacos were packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. The chips and salsa were also on point—fresh, crisp, and full of bold taste.

The restaurant itself has a great ambiance—lots of natural sunlight pouring in through the big windows, which really adds to the experience. The space feels welcoming, and the staff was genuinely warm and friendly throughout my visit.

I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Mexican food in a comfortable setting. Wishing the owner much mazel (success)—you’ve got something special here!

This place is a hidden gem! The appetizer was excellent and the tacos were delicious! I had a shrimp taco, absolutely delicious and a carnitas taco which was excellent, a little bit spicy but delicious! It looked and tasted as though the corn tortillas were homemade, I haven’t had a good homemade corn tortilla since I was in San Diego. The chips and salsa were also so good!
Not to mention the drinks, they were perfect! Our waitress Bree was also bartending so she was back and forth between our table and making drinks. She was excellent, attentive and friendly!
If this restaurant was in Chicago it would be packed! We ate in the patio, it was so nice, you could hear the water trickling and there was a light breeze, it was a perfect and relaxing evening. Prices honestly weren’t bad at all, compared to other restaurants in the area, we will definitely be back!

I'm so conflicted with this place. The first visit went so well, the chef was kind enough to come talk to us at my table. I ordered food for pickup and I didn't get limes with tacos, I didn't know there were two different types of beans, I don't eat pork and it looks like there's sausage, ham/bacon in the beans. I had ordered beans for my baby girl before and they were seasoned beans without the extra ingredients. When I asked for salsa, I was told that the salsa is already on the tacos 🫠 there wasn't enough salsa on my tacos... So I can't get extra salsa if I order to go?! This was a little upsetting.... I had also ordered potato tacos for my baby girl without seasoning, so I would need salsa for them after my daughter is done eating... I wasn't about to start arguing with a waitress about why I was requesting salsa... I just read some previous 1 star review and there's definitely an issue with staffing. The waitresses are in the wrong profession or they need more training... The place is lovely, has a good vibe, the food is good, the male Latino waiter was great, these ladies from today looked annoyed I walked into the restaurant and even more annoyed I asked for limes for my tacos.

Loved the service and waiters, seating was fast. The vibe was on point and great choice of music, the interior was nice as well. The food was another story, it seem like there were doing to much with simple tacos...loved the fact that they had homemade corn tortillas but everything else in the taco was not good. Let's keep it simple and not try to do too much with a taco, maybe just keep the dressing or topping on the side.

We were constantly driving by anticipating the opening, we finally went in tonight for my birthday dinner and it was such a let down :( from
the moment we walked in, the hostess was awkward. No people skills at all. She sat us a 6+ top and it was only 2 of us. Mind you, plenty of open tables. Was just awkward and uncomfortable. Now to the food, server & other staff. Note: these are my opinions and to each their own. Food was…odd. Definitely not your ordinary Mexican food. How can you go wrong with guacamole. Definitely not your traditional guacamole, something in it is definitely not appealing. Our waitress didn’t know the menu & IT WAS A LIMITED MENU. I simply wanted steak tacos, with only grilled onions. To which our waitress said “sorry we don’t have grilled onions”. You don’t have grilled onions? You cannot take the chopped raw onions and sautee them?! Interesting. If you’re going to have an open kitchen, might want to train your staff on keeping their comments to themselves. I didn’t want any of the extra stuff on my tacos, while still paying the normal menu price, yall save product while still getting the profit. Win win for Sazon, so why is my order being discussed as if it’s this huge inconvenience loud enough that I can hear you?! Again, UNCOMFORTABLE. Next problem, we didn’t take any of our food to go because at the end of it, we didn’t enjoy any of it, which again is totally fine because we paid full price for it all but your staff clearly had an issue with it because they proceeded to say “what a waste”. What is it to your employees that I choose not to eat the food THAT I PAID FOR? Nevertheless, the restaurant is beautiful. Very aesthetically pleasing and Instagram worthily but other than that, I would go to every other local Mexican restaurant before returning here.

The food was terrible the soft drinks flat & hot with freezer ice, very few. The food was terrible $5 a taco very little meat. Disappointing First Visit – Style Over Substance

I really wanted to like Sazón in Kenosha, but my experience fell short in too many areas to ignore.

To start with the positives: the shrimp and potato tacos were decent, and the salsa was tasty but only with their more unseasoned chips. That’s about where the praise ends.

The carne asada tacos were a letdown. They advertised avocado but came with avocado salsa instead—definitely not the same thing. The tortillas felt like an afterthought and left a lot to be desired.

The beans that came with the meal weren’t refried, but more cowboy-style—whole beans in a watery broth. Not necessarily bad, but definitely not what I expected, and they lacked any depth of flavor.

One of the biggest red flags? The plate was visibly dirty when it arrived.

The ginger ale I ordered was odd—it tasted nothing like ginger ale, was cloudy like lemonade, and had a spicy aftertaste. I specifically asked if it was a fountain drink and was told yes, but this was just off.

Guacamole was overwhelmed by lime, and the rice? Extremely salty. We mentioned it, and were told they’d already gotten a complaint and were making a new batch. If that’s the case, why didn’t anyone check back with our table or offer fresh rice? They comped the side of rice but not the portion that came with a combo meal, which just felt inconsistent.

Service was… questionable. We saw a waitress/host carrying multiple water glasses by bear-hugging them against her chest instead of using a tray. Not exactly confidence-inspiring from a hygiene standpoint.

And while I understand this might be a soft opening, taste and quality should already be dialed in. A soft launch is for smoothing out service—not test-driving your menu. It wasn’t even busy, which makes me wonder how things would go on a packed night.

The ambiance is lovely, but it feels like that’s where most of the attention went. The paper menus were dirty—if they’re not laminated, they should at least be clean or disposable.

Overall, there’s potential here, but Sazón needs to tighten up on both execution and service. Not sure I’ll be back unless I hear things have drastically improved.

We’ve been here a couple times and we love it. We’ve had most of the tacos on the menu and they’ve all been good. The jalapeño margarita is great and well worth it (one of the best margs in Kenosha County). The two servers we’ve had have been polite and informative. The inside is nice and we’re looking forward to sitting on the back patio at some point this summer.

I think the prices are reasonable and I don’t agree with the reviews that say this place is overpriced. For ~$25, you can get three really good tacos and an excellent marg. What more could you ask for?

Again, a great restaurant and I’m glad it’s in our community.

The best part was the chips and salsa, all these restaurants trying to re invent the taco.... just have a few really good tacos and a good bartender and you would be great. I knew it was going to be bad when they scooped the rice out of warmer it was sticky and chewy and bland and the bartender made my mule so sweet I think im a pre diabetic...

I had high hopes for this place, and I had tempered expectations knowing they are still on their soft opening phase. We arrived at 6:30 on a Sunday night.

Atmosphere was clean, brightly lit, and decorated nicely.

Service was mediocre. Everything was delivered accurately, but very slow. Drinks took a while to receive after ordering. Watching the bartender (who was also acting as the host) it seems most margaritas are labor intensive, perhaps that’s what takes so long? Or inexperience- can’t say for sure. Time between being served our appetizers and being able to place our actual dinner order was too long. We weren’t checked on during our meal to see how everything was. We also needed to wait too long after we were done for our bill. We had two couples and the waitress asked if we wanted 2 bills or one. We said we would just split it 50/50 between 2 cards. She insisted she could do it for us on the bill. However, when the bills came, we couldn’t figure out how she determined the split. Each couple had mixed drinks and food from the other couple. It was not evenly split like we had wanted in the first place.

Food was subpar overall. Guac was very thick (almost hard) and lacked flavor, missing tomatoes and salt. Queso fundido and tortilla chips were good. Mahi mahi was overcooked, and steak tacos had gristle. Claim to fame is supposedly the homemade tortillas, but they were doughy and split it half, causing all ingredients to spill out. Ordered rice but they didn’t have any. Ordered the vegetarian beans, which were not refried. They were just warm whole Pinto beans served in a small bowl. They lacked flavor entirely, very bland. Definitely would never recommend.

We would maybe come back just for drinks and queso fundido if we had an hour to kill, but wouldn’t consider it a destination place for dinner.

Not impressed, the food is not great and you don’t get much for the price. It’s too bad because it is a cute place. Our waiter was very nice and that was the only plus. Food took a long time to come out. Definitely will not return.

The service was mediocre and seemed like the gentleman had never waited tables before. He was friendly but got items wrong and had little to add to the experience. The food, we tried the guacamole which was fairly bland, salsas came in tiny 1oz condiment cups other than the one which I guess would be the house flavor which tasted like BBQ sauce. The tacos came on cold corn tortillas and only 1 per taco so they don’t stay together. The flavor on mine was very basic and not what I expected. They were laid flat on a plate so presentation was lacking as well. I guess I expected a lot more for all the hype and length of time it took to open. They have only been open about a month so they can salvage it but only if they make changes. Go visit Milwaukee Taco in Libertyville and you will get what I think this place wants to be.

My Husband and I were so excited to have a date night and try out Sazón and we both left full and happy.

The chips were seasoned well and salsa was deliciously smoky and well seasoned also. Our food came out quickly after ordering and we were both extremely happy with the tacos. They were all delicious and I would have a hard picking my favorite of the 3 I got (the Shrimp taco, the Carne Asada and the Dojo Pork- that Bao Bun is to die for) My only complaint was the rice. It had zero flavor and ours was extremely gummy like it had been very overcooked. My husband also got the beans and he said they were good.

Our service was ok, our waiter quickly got us beverages and chips and salsa but took a while to come back and take our order. Our food came out quickly after it had been put in and he did come and check on us once but it did take a while before he came back to ask us if we wanted the check. I know the staff is still being trained and this server had someone shadowing him for training that evening as well so I’m sure he was explaining stuff to her which could have caused the delay.

We will definitely be back to try Sazón again!

Just tried Sazon. Way overpriced for what you get and the quality of food. $90 for just my husband and I who each had one margarita each, and we each just had two tacos and rice and beans. It’s an ala cart type menu, so you have to pay about an additional $7 for the rice and beans. Service was just ok. Our waitress was very nice though. Took almost a half hour to receive our margaritas. We like to eat out and try new restaurants, and Mexican food is our favorite, but unfortunately we won’t be back. The food was also just ok. We both had the steak tacos and there wasn’t much meat in the tacos at all. I was hoping it would have been great but unfortunately it wasn’t.

Been excitedly waiting for this spot to open for some time now - the atmosphere and kindness of employees did not disappoint!

We didn’t realize there was a limited menu being offered as they haven’t had their grand opening, but the taco options were unique and delicious so it ended up being no problem! Loved the complimentary chips and salsa, our chips were perfectly salty and fresh. The chips served with the queso are differently seasoned. While the seasoning is good, it does seem to take some flavor away from the queso in our opinion.

As other reviews mention, the prices were slightly high, but certainly comparable to similar dining options that we’ve visited in the suburbs and MKE area. Definitely not enough to turn us away and we look forward to what’s to come with the full menu!

Disappointed After the Hype

My boyfriend and I had heard good things about this place—especially the food—but we were also warned that it was pretty pricey for what you get. We decided to try it anyway, but honestly, it ended up being a letdown.

I ordered the tacos, and while the flavor was actually really good, they came out cold and were shockingly small. Definitely not worth the price. The drinks were another disappointment—no balance at all. It tasted like straight tequila, and not even the good kind.

Surprisingly, the best thing we had was the cheesecake. It was delicious, but still overpriced for the portion.

All in all, I don’t think I’ll be back. It just didn’t live up to the hype, especially for the cost.

The place looks really cute, music is good but the food was a huge disappointment. The chips were overly seasoned with soggy spots, the green salsa was bitter, and the red salsa tasted more like dessert—way too sweet. Everyone’s food came out cold, and the tortillas were falling apart and just not good at all. For how overpriced everything was, the quality did not match. Overall, it was just a nasty experience and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Horrible experience. This was our second time back, first visit was great! Complete melt down today. Main meal came out first, tacos were cold. Appetizer came out second, again had temperature issues. The drinks came out last and were wrong. Ordered a Bloody Mary but got a bloody Maria with tequila. Chips are nasty and oily, stay away from them. Manager and hosts had nasty attitudes.

The ambiance is wonderful and the staff is very attentive. They have not yet had their grand opening so allowing room for growth, which they acknowledged on their current limited menu. I enjoyed the drinks, a good variety (remove the 818 tequila). Mezcal drink variety was great. Meat was cooked very well in my tacos. My only thing is the tortillas, la masa needed water they kept cracking. But overall I love the mix of flavors. Excited to see how this restaurant does! Definitely will go back.

Food had good flavors - kind of like designer tacos. However the price for what you get is extremely disappointing. The quesadilla we got was $12, cheese only and was a major rip-off. there was nothing special about it to justify that price. It felt greedy and while I understand this is a new location figuring things out, there’s no excuse to be that off the mark. The inside is beautiful, our server was kind and the coconut margarita is amazing but not sure if it’s enough to bring us back with those prices.

Was excited to try the new place in town. Food was not what expected ! Food was over salty ! Definitely not worth the hype and way over priced for what you get ! The waiters aren’t attentive at all. For what you’re paying you should have great service. The waiter. We waited for a long time to get our food. The waiter took for ever to ask if we needed anything. Will definitely not come back or recommend to friends.

Fresh, fun, modern, and delicious! My husband and I loved our experience here, and are sure to become regulars. The space is vibrant and bright, featuring hand-painted murals. The music was festive and kept at a comfortable volume. Our server was welcoming, friendly, and attentive.

Our Meal: Every great Mexican restaurant needs amazing chips & salsa, and Sazón delivers. We tried four different kinds of salsa, and each of them was fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. I think the arbol and salsa verde were our favs. Each of our tacos was lined with crispy, melted cheese, and their tortillas are made in-house. I’ve been to Mexico many times and have had my share of fresh tortillas before, but never knew they could be that delicious. I have no idea what they do differently, but their tortillas are next-level. My husband is still talking about how amazing his tacos were, days later 😂 The jalapeño corn fritters were perfectly-cooked, fluffy, and served warm. We loved everything we tried. This restaurant is brand new, and off to such a strong start.
Drinks: The bar boasts a wide range of tequila options. I had two margaritas: the hibiscus and a blended strawberry, and was offered the choice of salt or sugar rims. Both margs were smooth & flavorful. They tasted high-end and fresh.

I love how inclusive the menu is, from thoughtfully-composed vegetarian dishes to zero-proof tequila options for those who choose not to imbibe.

We went there on their first day open, and already they were running like a well-oiled machine. We’re used to driving up to Milwaukee for Mexican food, and are happy to have finally found a wonderful local option in Sazón. I’m already looking forward to our next taco night!

Loved it! The atmosphere is vibrant and fun. Superior chips and salsa. Although the menu is intentionally limited for now as this brand new restaurant gets into a groove, the three tacos we tried were all delicious. I especially liked the creative take of the dojo. The servers were super attentive and helpful. Bienvenido Sazón Tacos & Tequila! You are a most welcome addition to the local food scene.

I absolutely loved the new edition of SAZON as a partner to Oak Fire in Kenosha. The cocktails, the ambience and the food last night at the opening was amazing. The place was buzzing with positive energy and we are so excited to go back soon. My favorite last night was the pork taco with the Asian inspired pan tortilla. It was amazing. Also, loved your version of rice and beans, OmG I could eat them for every meal!! Bravo and excited for more good food to come. Congrats on your opening!! And we got to meet Dominic! Bonus 🤩🤩🤩

I had the pleasure of attending the soft opening of this soon-to-launch Mexican restaurant, and let me just say—it’s something truly special. From the first bite, it was clear that this isn’t your average Mexican spot. The food was absolutely delicious—bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and crafted with real attention to detail.

What really stood out to me was how the dishes managed to be both unique and deeply authentic at the same time. You can tell the recipes are rooted in tradition, but there’s also a creative flair that makes each bite exciting and memorable. Every plate I tried had a depth of flavor that shows the chefs here really know what they’re doing.

If this soft opening is any indication of what’s to come, this place is going to be a must-visit once it officially opens. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu. Kenosha is lucky to have a new culinary gem on the horizon!

We’ve stopped by two different days this weekend and the sign on the door says “Closed for a private event” but there’s nobody in the restaurant. Amazon package sitting outside the door. Must be closed down. ?? Not a good start to opening a new restaurant!
