I love this little "safe" area for the kids to play. Very rarely can I find a coffee shop where I can actually relax and let my kid play while I smash and drink my iced breve. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Great little cafe off the beaten path. The coffee was good with a wide variety of drinks offered. We had breakfast, pancakes and oatmeal which were excellent. The oatmeal was overflowing with toppings. Homemade toast was tasty. Give it a try!

Went here on Sunday. Staff warned us there would be 30-35 min wait for food and I appreciate the heads-up. Not sure why such a long wait as all tables weren't full. Son & wife enjoyed coffees, I had iced tea which was average. Glad my reflexes are still good cuz person who delivered tea (wrong the 1st time) couldn't get away fast enough & nearly dumped on table. Out of cinnamon rolls (before noon) so had coffee cake instead, was good but would have preferred roll. Son enjoyed omelet, wife had Sweet Crunch Sandwich which was adequate. I had Rice Bowl; no idea why it is called that as there was maybe a tablespoon of rice in bottom, was mostly cabbage and maybe 1.5 oz pulled pork. Sad when I paid what I did for breakfast and had to go home to get a snack. Rarely saw server (poor guy in table next to me had to go to counter to place his order after a few minutes of trying to flag someone down). I get the feeling they just don't care.
These last 2 visits the service really has been lacking and the food has not met expectations. Doubtful there will be another visit which is too bad as we used to enjoy going here. No more.

We are so glad we happened to see the sign along the highway...

My wife was very impressed with her cranberry breakfast sandwich, another had the soup was very hearty and tasted great, and my standard breakfast was exceptional. The hash browns used finely sliced potatoes.

The wait staff was the most attentive that I've had in years. Again, exceptional!

We are glad we happened on this place and will be looking for excuses to drive to this area again so we can stop back in!

Food for the most part was good. I got a side of avocado with my breakfast bowl and it was so hard I had to cut it with a knife. We got a few baked goods and most were old and dried out. I could have used the scones as hammers.

Really enjoyed coming here and all the food I tried. Pictured you will see the Pickle Pepper Grilled Cheese and loaded smashed potato. Also tried the house scrambler with chipotle hash browns and a cinnamon roll. All excellent!

This place must have been a bank at one time because the old safe has been turned into a book nook. Have seen this concept before but can’t go wrong when it’s done this well

My sister-in-law took me to this café when I was visiting in from out of town. It was absolutely adorable, all of the decor is so cute and unique.
The food was absolutely delicious, I had a breakfast scramble platter, that was cooked to order. It was really filling and generous portions too! My sister-in-law had a stuffed French toast, I had a few bites and it was very good! I also had a chance to try a Nutella cold brew as well, it was great. All of the coffee selections looked appealing and had some fun flavor combinations as well.
All the staff were friendly and food came out quickly.

Also they have a cute nook for children that was well stocked with books and toys!
I would revisit again in a heartbeat, I will definitely make a point to come back the next time I am visiting Wisconsin.

Service was horrible, took 20min to get our drinks and place our order. Food was luke warm at best which is a shame because the flavors were great and the people in the kitchen clearly know what they are doing. Im assuming the food sat waiting to be brought to us. Was willing to give the place a 2nd chance but after reading other reviews and talking to a few friends this seems to be a common problem.

Foods great, atmosphere is great...but the last few times I've been there I have really been disappointed in the service. We waited 40 minutes for breakfast, because nobody came to tell us the food was ready. It had been waiting with about 6 other dishes (when it wasn't busy, people were literally folding napkins at the counter.) We had no idea the food was ready, AND my 8 month old was fussing and getting angry because it was nap time by the time we got out of there. I think we were there a total of 2 hours before we had our food and at that point had to take it to go.

Your Coffee bag was not sealed correctly (pic) The beans had a strange smell too them very smokey (wood Fire). After brewing the coffee and Tasting it had a overwhelming smokey and brunt Taste to it. Maybe we just a bad bag.

The first time I went here, I basically stumbled upon it. I was walking on the Red Cedar Trail with a couple people and we got very hungry and decided to walk off the trail to look for a place to eat. This was before it was renovated and it looked like we were walking into someone's house. It was such a strange experience but I absolutely love the memory and the food was tasty! Now it is a very quaint yet trendy little cafe that's family friendly. They serve coffee, drinks, and cafe food. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the service is friendly. Really used to love eating here, but today's breakfast was much higher priced and smaller portion sized than about 6 months ago. A total of $60 for 4 people for breakfast. An omelette, stuffed French toast, and 2 fairly small breakfast Bowls. Not worth it. Very disappointed as it used to be a favorite to go to. Will maybe stop in for a latte once in a while, but probably won't eat there again.

Went for breakfast before 9 am on a Saturday. Ordered breakfast and coffees from Waitress #1 and I requested a large cup of Dark Roast coffee as I could see into the display case and the different sized mugs. The coffee machines are also visible; medium roast and dark roast. Both had a full urn on the burner and a second full urn on the top warmer. Waitress #2 and #1 made the fancy coffee drink that was also ordered, slowly. Seven or so minutes later, Waitress #2 delivered the fancy coffee; nothing was said about the mug of dark roast. Meanwhile Waitress #1 was eating her breakfast behind the counter and taking orders as people came in. Waitress #3 brought out our breakfasts and we asked about my large dark roast. She returned a few minutes later with dark roast in a small cup. The food was very good; the coffee escapades continued. All four urns of coffee was consumed by initial orders; no one made any more coffee. No one walked around re-filling coffee cups. Eventually an older person came out of the kitchen and started an urn of medium roast, ignoring the empty dark roast urns. The person at the table next to us finished and left. #1 cleared the table and then cleared our table. I asked for more dark roast; #3 eventually brought me a new smaller cup of medium roast. Dark roast still had not been started. Other people ordered and was given large cups of medium roast; the urn was now empty. No one made more. A couple came in and sat at the table next to us. A few minutes later #2 came over and asked if we were ready to order. We said we were waiting for the bill but the people next to us were ready to order. Had they not verbally jumped on that, she would have walked away. #3 brought out our bill after a few minutes. A 10% tip was left; it has been at least a decade since we left a tip that small. #2 ran the cash register and said it was busy. All four coffee urns were still empty and no one was making coffee. This COFFEE house / cafe is aptly named. Next time we will bring a Thermos of coffee from home.

The service was great, but the drinks were awful. The mocha we ordered was poorly filtered and filled with coffee grinds. The food was okay at best and wasn't worth how it was priced. It seemed like a nice place to have tea and work on homework and that's about it. We spent $42.

EDIT: Thank you to the owners for offering the refund, but it is not necessary. To answer your question: the drinks made it hard to enjoy the meal at all, so that could have been a factor.

We didn't know lunch isn't served until 12, so had to get breakfast. The wild rice cranberry bread was delicious, but the eggs I asked for over easy came out about as hard as you can fry an egg. We're anxious to try lunch. Sandwiches sound really good.

Cute tucked away coffee and breakfast shop. We visited on a busy Sunday and had to wait a little bit, but not too long, to get our food. We enjoyed our meals and the cozy spot!

Super friendly people! My daughter and I stopped for a quick treat to have in the car. The cookies are absolutely delicious, so are the cinnamon rolls and the bread pudding.

Rode my bike here today on a beautiful trail and met my husband and friend for lunch. The staff was so friendly, the place is adorable and I wanted to try everything on the menu! I had a wrap and soup that were both excellent and some of the creamiest ice cream I have had in a long time!

Atmosphere is friendly, food is very taste and a large selection, and the service is great. If you want to take a beautiful trip into God's country, you need to visit this cafe. Obtw, they roast their own coffee beans and it is actually a very good roast. Check it out.

The bacon avocado wrap was fine. And the strawberry rhubarb pie was excellent because of the crust taste and texture, the wonderful layer between it and the fruit. And the top. So good I ordered, and loved again, a piece after dinner.

My son and I ate here last month. They added cute touches to pancakes and chocolate milk such as whip cream and sprinkles that made my son's day. Food was very good and lady who served us was nice.

Great sized portions and I love that everything is locally sourced! The food is delicious, no complaints there! I've only been here twice, but both times the service has been mediocre - the staff just isn't very attentive - so plan to wait awhile.

Went in for lunch with a guest. First timer. Latte was top notch, chicken salad sandwich was delicious. Side salad would have been wonderful..... unfortunately CHEAP store bought blue cheese dressing. Ruined it for me, such a disappointment. Otherwise a very nice cafe, pleasant wait staff, reasonable prices. NOW an update. Went back for a second meal. Again latte was delicious, I had a BLT on their toasted potato chive bread..... amazing! The cheesey hash browns were equally YUMMY, a big cookie to top it off......I left full and content.

My husband and Is favorite place to go during our dating days. The atmosphere is so nice. It is like an old country/trendy city vibe. It is also a popular breakfast stop and is right off the bike trail. They have ice cream too! It is out of the bustle of the city and town, nestled in quaint Downsville. Our favorite thing to get here is their soup, so good and their artisanal breads are a must! I am not a huge fan of their specialty coffee drinks, they just taste like sugar and there is not much complex about them. It would be better if they added a topping of some sort or maybe even had a specialty drink that involved their ice cream. Their merchandise is really cute and is usually sourced from locals. FYI very busy spot for breakfast!
