The food is hit and miss, sometimes too salty. Then again I have had great meals here too. The pour levels (wine mainly) are questionable for the price. But that's where the mild negatives end. The atmosphere is lively and just plain neat; old world and spooky. The only cigar bar in town that doesn't mind if you bring your own smoke (I highly recommend you do as they are very over priced). Very good selection of booze. The service is always great. The staff very well trained. Smoke removal is above average.

Incredible experience! The drinks are great, and the tour is even better! My girlfriend and I went to the 8:30pm tour and were the only ones, so our tour guide Jennifer went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible! Having done many ghost tours in the past, this was by far my favorite, and absolutely wish to come back to see the other tours offered. Thank you for an incredible experience!

We came to shakers for the 3pm ghost tour and ended up staying for the 10pm tour as well as enjoying delicious food and classic cocktails all night long!! Tried this place for the first time last night! What a cool spot. There is much to look at and they have a nice rooftop. Drinks are on the pricier side, but worth it as they are super delicious. I got the best espresso martini I’ve ever had! The brandy old fashion was excellent as well.

Went here for my bachelor party, wanted to open a tab, but was forced to pay our full tab before even seeing a drink…..2 of our party never even saw our drinks and were refused a refund after waiting 30 min for the drinks that never came. Server claimed he gave it to the wrong person, then waited another 10 minutes without getting the drink. Stay away.

My boyfriend and I took the haunted tour on Labor Day, there was not a lot of people, so we enjoyed the atmosphere and the drinks. Our tour guide was Christopher. He gave an excellent run down of the interior and exterior of the property and the history, including any extra questions we had. Very unique atmosphere. Had not experienced anything paranormal that was apparent on the tour, but took photos as keepsakes that might have caught something. Would recommend to any interested in history or the paranormal or for good drinks.

Just visited from Pennsylvania and had the absolute pleasure of having the bartender Frankie take care of us and she was amazing! She was very attentive and knew a lot about the menu which is always a good trait. I've come here for my birthday the last 2 years and I intend to make it a tradition. In addition to the wonderful and historic atmosphere, the food is amazing and the cocktails are expertly crafted. My boyfriend calls their carrot cake the best he's ever had while I obsess over the cocktails and liquor selection. We have yet to do a tour, as it's a little pricey on top of the food and drinks, but we definitely plan on it in the coming years, as well as a haunted overnight stay!

My 2 friends and I booked the Shakers’s haunted tour. Since we booked for 5:45pm on a Tuesday we were the only ones going. This sometimes makes for a quiet tour. Ours was definitely not quiet and we had a blast. Alexi our tour guide was fun, funny, spooky and a shade naughty with the many stories of the ladies of the night and Al Capone. The building is an amazing piece of architecture. Would definitely recommend the tour especially with Alexi !!

I had an amazing experience here with the ghost tour. I felt very included when I thought I would feel excluded at first due to my younger age. My tour guide Jennifer was so very sweet, energetic, interactive and humorous. She really helped lift the vibe to those who were more scared on the tour all without forcing you to do anything of course. It is also very enjoyable to just talk to her as her energy just makes you feel very safe. I did catch this photo in the “staircase to nowhere.” She suggested that I’d post this here. Came here looking for ghosts, left having had one of the most delicious carrot cakes and pretty darn good espresso martinis. The vibes of the bar are fun and it was fairly crowded for a Wednesday night. This is a great bar. Really friendly staff and such an atmospheric bar. As soon as we walked in the staff were amazing. Michaela looked after us so well and told us lots of history about the bar. Bob was also amazing and took time to chat to us. If I was to visit Milwaukee again I’d definitely go here and recommend it to anyone else. Great cocktails & beers! Thanks for making us so welcome!

We love this place! I love the atmosphere, the ambiance, the smell of cigars, the old time speakeasy vibe! We usually get the same waitress and she's always on point! Pizza is good and of course the old fashioned are delicious!

Cool location, rooftop patio is great, but the drinks are poorly made, old fashioned not balanced at all, hemingways cocktail was thrown together, no balance or love. Bartender looked checked out. Way to expensive for poorly executed cocktails

Christopher was an excellent tour guide — the tour was a great balance of history and hear say, and whether or not you believe in ghosts, Christopher was very kind and thoughtful to any entities that may or may not inhabit the place. Set a wonderful example for visitors, gave insightful information, and was very entertaining!

This is the third tour I’ve done at Shakers. Always so fun and Miranda was so fun and knowledgeable!! I will definitely be returning for another tour in the future. Also a lot of fun places to get food and drinks around the area - so it could be a fun way to make a day event with a group of friends!

Miranda was amazing. Knowledgeable, thorough, and left no room for complaints. Simply amazing.

THAT SAID….. the tour left much to be desired. You simply walked up and down a few blocks, stopping here and there to get more to the story. You didn’t go inside anywhere, and didn’t see anything not viewable on Google Maps. Very overpriced for the experience. Miranda is the only reason I didn’t give it a single star.

We spent over five hours in here while in town to watch baseball. A beautiful bar, with an amazing history. We did the ghost tour and found it but fascinating and sad.
I ate the Cajun meatballs, which were delicious and our server, Stephanie, was wonderful. Smoking cigars throughout the establishment isn't for everyone, but as avid cigar smokers, we loved it.
Very friendly atmosphere and we will definitely be back
