We sat for an hour and didn’t get our burger and tacos on a slow night. The bartender never made eye contact but did her best to manage the front of house. Food looked amazing on other patrons plates. The place has a really cool cozy saloon vibe though. Maybe it was just an off night. 🤷‍♂️

We stopped in to have a quick lunch and walked in to a BUSY lunch rush! The bars dining tables were full, as well as the side dining area, so we sat at the bar. Joe was the only bartender/server working and I was amazed at how well he handled himself under such a stressful situation! He remained calm and polite! I am extremely impressed. And to top it off, my Hawaiian Long Island and Lunch was great!

Last night was my first time at the Sheeley House. What a true gem with a fascinating history of the building, the décor on the wall, and the tin ceiling. Then, what a surprise to see a menu with high-end, delicious options. Thumbs up for the Pinot Noir, the delicious Boom Shrimp, chicken tacos, tasty truffle fries with garlic aioli, and a berry crème brûlée. When to try something new and found this place. The cheese curds we different than your typical curds in Wisconsin, they were cubed and lightly battered 4.5* for these. The drink menu was long, and the drinks were strong, so 5* for this. I had the house special, smoked bacon wrapped meatloaf, which was nearly perfect. I just needed a tad more salt. My wife could not stop raving about the mixed vegetables too. The place has deep history that will give you goosebumps. Jes, I'd like to say a job well done and your staff was great.

It had been a while since we had been to restaurant. We wanted something different and had always had a good meal at Sheeley. I’m not sure what happened but we were disappointed. The prices are crazy! $19 for two tacos?! We normally don’t mind spending a bit more money for quality but the prices are too high. We ordered sandwiches cuz it was like whatever. I ordered a burger and spouse ordered chicken sandwich. Brioche buns for both were dry. Not sure if overheated or old? Spouse said chicken was dry. My burger was not exciting. Truffle fries were less than good. Server was very nice. I hope things didn’t change cuz of new ownership? I hope this was a fluke? I’m not sure I would be back? I regretted ordering burger and wished we could have gone to Valley Burger down the block. Hopefully they can fix issues. Sadly disappointed.

We have become regular customers
Atmosphere is very nice and we are able to talk/visit without shouting. Music was subdued. Even though it is usually fairly busy, it is quiet and comfortable.
Service is very good, from the greeting to the exit-they thank you for coming by. We were checked on more than once during the meal.
Food was spectacular. The presentation was beautiful. We both ordered the salmon special with risotto and seasonal vegetables. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
We usually order the boom-voom shrimp which is the best.
We will return.

What a great establishment. The food was great, wait staff attentive,and the ambiance was something you don't find anymore in casual fine dining. The chef is off the hook and everything was way beyond expectations. We were passing through on a trip from MN to a bit further into WI and stopped on a whim. Make sure to say hi to Mom and Jes the owner. Read the history of one of Chippewa Falls oldest businesses, it is fascinating,and beware of the ghosts. Highly recommend and will stop in when we pass through again. Great job Jes. Risotto and chicken,steak and the others I checked was what we ordered.

Really wanted to give this place five stars! It's just such a cool old building. Definitely worth a visit to see the old place with all it's charm. Unfortunately the food wasn't great. Overcooked steak and other errors in the order as well. Very pleasant waitress but obviously overworked and had too many tables. A medium steak was ordered and a well done one was delivered. Oh well, still a good night overall.

Visited here on a recommendation from a good friend. Atmosphere was very nice, the wait staff was on point. Friday fish fry this is a different story. They have a Mahi Mahi special on Fridays. Mahi is a very delectable fish and should never be treated with the disrespect that they put this filet through. The batter they used was despicable and had to be removed in order to eat it. Literally 1/2" thick. Truffle fries...under recommendation also felt as if they had been reheated, and all I tasted was a lot of garlic and parmesan. At nearly $50 for a fish fry for my wife and I we both agreed that the only thing that was refreshing was the coleslaw.

I feel like I just got robbed of $80. Had dinner there tonight for my wife's birthday and, geez, what a mess. Our bill was wrong...twice. The fish fry was basically a heaping plate of bland fries, had to dig to find any fish filets. Coleslaw had no flavor whatsoever. My wife's order was missing an item. The server was trying, but couldn't seem to get anything quite right, and even snagged our bottle of ketchup to hand to the table next to us before we were finished. My wife said the best part of her meal was her Pepsi she had to ask 3 times for lol.
I hate to sound so negative, but this was just bad. Surprising to see all the good reviews. Maybe they just had an off night, or had to run their 3rd stringers out for the holiday weekend. Sad to say, but the fish fry at Culver's is way better, and I hate Culver's.
Our experience was so poor we had nothing to do but laugh as we left. Yikes!
1 star for the beet salad, and 1 more for the decor, which was pretty good.

Absolutely horrible dining experience. We were seated promptly & our drinks & appetizers were served quickly. The drinks were fine but the appetizer had a long hair in it. The waiter watched my friend remove the hair from her mouth but said nothing. We placed our meal orders and waited...and waited...and waited. After two parties that arrived after us were served their meals we asked for the check. By that time we had been seated for well over an hour. The waiter literally tossed the bill on the table and offered a lame excuse that we weren't served because of the way the orders "fell out" while we were sitting there. Don't know if this is the standard or just one bad night, but we will never go there again.

This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend so our group of four arrived around 5:30 for dinner. After waiting over an hour and 15 minutes for our entree, and watching a table of 4 and another table of 6 who were seated well after us receive their entrees before us, we left. We did receive our shrimp appetizer, which contained a 9" long blonde hair in it. We took friends here last evening-was there a couple of weeks ago and had the Brussels sprouts appetizer and 5 different entrees which was all excellent.
Unfortunately last night was quite the opposite. There were 2, yes 2 people trying to serve the entire place. We were there at 5:30; there were 4 people seated at the bar and about 8 tables on the lower level. The waiter was also the bartender and had never bartended before. He had never made a Manhattan.
All of our food was not as ordered but we did not want to complain. One ordered a burger and French onion soup and it came with 2 pieces of toast, no soup and the burger very overdone. The soup then came in a (approximate) 1/2 cup serving dish. Another ordered the pork belly tacos - it came with 4 tortillas and only enough filling for 2. The truffle fries had been sitting for some time with a sprinkle of Parmesan that wouldn’t even melt. One burger came with a pretzel bun and the other had a regular bun.The salmon risotto came with mostly rice in a (approximately) 5-6 inch deep bowl with very little salmon…and that was $28.
We felt SO badly for this poor guy who was literally in a frenzy and apologizing, trying to accommodate everyone but being SO pleasant at the same time. During our stay another waiter came running in, supposedly to try to help. Where was the owner? We realize everyone is short of help but it’s no wonder given a situation such as this.
What a shame, as this was once a great place. We will not be back.

Chippewa Falls is so fortunate to have this eatery. We always enjoy our time spent with Jess and her posse. We normally dine in the evening, but the brunch is the best around. Start with sharing a Boom Boom, the Wedge or a seasonal salad, and then Ribeye or Tenderloin which I don't share. She usually has a couple good bourbons to try as well.

First, we were charmed by the fact it is a historical building. The dining/bar area was cozy, and surprisingly both casual and upscale. One look at the menu and we realized this wasn't just a bar and grill. This would be a fine dining experience! We decided to forego our original plan for traditional fish fry(which I have every confidence would have been wonderful) and take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy something that we couldn't get just anywhere. We settled on a starter of Ahi Poke, and for the main course, Filet mignon cooked perfectly to medium rare and amazingly seasoned garlic makes potatoes and a medley of fresh steamed asparagus, carrot and baking chocolate, with a lemon butter that was truly delightful. The drink menu was also impressive! The service was excellent. We will definitely be returning. Perhaps next time we will enjoy our meal on the patio! If you want a quality meal prepared by professionally trained chefs, I highly recommend the historic Sheeley House Saloon!

It's my husband and my favorite place in Chippewa! Food is amazing, very flavorful and unique. We have eaten in a lot of different cities and this place is at the top of the list! Jess is a great owner, you can't get a better atmosphere any where else!

First meal I ate in Wisconsin. Will definitely be back with the wife. Staff was great, food was fantastic, and the beer was good. Ordered the pastrami and upgraded to truffle fries at bartender's suggestion. Glad I did. Atmosphere was perfect. Happy, bustling saloon but not so loud you couldn't hear someone you were visiting with.

Great Meal, drinks and staff. You can tell they have a chief in the kitchen using fresh ingredients. I asked the server to select my dinner and she and the kitchen staff knocked it out of the ballpark with the attic char, best meal I have had in a long time. Wife loved her sandwich. Will be back.

My husband and I decided to try the Sheeley House for our first date night since moving to the area. A lot of people told us this was a must try and we were not disappointed.
I would first like to give a huge compliment to our waitress Emily, she was so sweet and welcoming. Emily truly made the whole experience.
The food was FANTASTIC!! If you go you must try the shrimp tacos! They were so good.
My husband had one of the weekly specials Liver and Onions which he really enjoyed.
I loved that they had an option on the menu to pay $10 for a round of drinks for the cooks. I always feel they do not get recognized enough so this is a great way to show you enjoyed the experience.
If you are in the area make sure to enjoy this historic spot and make sure to read up on the history of the building as well.

Very quaint old restaurant in the center of Chippewa Falls. Lots of history and you get to have lunch with Casper. By far the best Eggs Benedict I have ever had. French fries were awesome. Death by chocolate Tiramsu was very good. Hat off to the chef. Plan your meal as they are only open until 3:00.
