Went on a busy Friday evening and though we had a reservation, we still had to wait a little while. The owner was very apologetic but we were happy the place is doing so well. The food is even more delicious and higher quality than when we have visited before moving away from the area! Very reasonably priced and delicious food!! Catch of the day special included one each of a walleye filet, one cod filet, one crab cake, and 3 shrimp for $19.95 (cash only). It came with yummy creamy Cole slaw and choice of potato with the German potato salad being an excellent option. HIGHLY recommend Silver Lake Country Inn!!

My wife and I went with two of our neighbors for a Friday fish fry. Other than myself, everyone ordered a fish combination dinner, which consisted of a fried walleye fillet, fried cod, fried shrimp, and a crab cake served with french fries or potato pancakes and coleslaw. They were all very pleased with their selection. I opted to go with a full rack of bbq ribs. If you haven't been to Silver Lake Country Inn previously, they are the "falling off the bone" variety and are always excellent. For dessert we ordered grasshoppers, but they have other ice cream drink selections. If you are looking for a great meal at an out-of-the-way location, this is a wonderful place.

We had a 6pm reservation, and other people got sat before us. The owner told my wife we should've told staff we wanted a table sooner. We made reservations!!!! The owner was disrespectful to my wife and put his finger in her face to the point where she had to grab it and force it out of her face. I'll never go back, and I highly recommend no one goes. We stopped in to get dinner and were pleasantly amazed by how delicious the food was. How great the prices are. How fun the place looks inside. And how fun and incredible our waitress, Nora is! We had the shrimp and ribs special with baked potato.
Started with a delicious chicken dumpling soup and excellent white wines. Then the fall off the bone ribs and nice size fried shrimp came. Everything was done perfectly and brought out quickly by our most skilled waitress we have seen in decades. She didn't miss a thing. Every detail thought of. No wonder drinks are named after her. So we tried her signature nutty Nora after dinner drink-sooo good!
We are planning to come back tomorrow too! And come with my husband next visit.

The waitress was extremely rude. We had a party of 10 and when she came to get us for our table we were in the middle of ordering a drink and she said if we want our table we needed to go now. Thursday rib night. They cook the living hell out of the ribs (probably steamed) until all the “flavor” is gone and then slap on one of two sauces and heat them up again. Sure they fall off the bone but all I tasted was the sauce. I couldn’t finish what they gave me because it tasted like just bbq sauce. The wife got sick on the walleye. No more visits from us…
Oh …and I had to change seats because the old guy hostess standing there rocking back a forth next to me was extremely annoying!!! And why just cash??? That’s just lazy. Guess you didn’t see the no more visits…. Hidden gem that’s funny. Crowded and cramped. The bar is OK.

Be sure and make a reservation. This place is very busy from 4pm on. We enjoyed a Peach old fashion, and a regular old fashion. Both were excellent and very reasonably priced. My wife and her family have been coming here for 30+ years. My wife and I had our first date here as well as 11 anniversaries birthdays etc. We come here very frequently. I was hoping it would be the same under new ownership...we were wrong. Food and staff quality has gone down. Waitress asked if we would like her to do something but I was already over half way done eating it and she was looking to take my whole plate, so I said no. I was surprised that there was nothing taken off the meal though for the overcooked food. Ever eat dry steak? You need a sauce or drink to go with it... Well drinks weren't filled as much as I'd have liked. I drink lots of water and with that, it was hard but having it available when we ran out.
