Placed an online order through Toast marked Gluten free/gluten allergy in 2 different sections - bun looked not GF so called restaurant to ask if they can check. Took forever to get through, when I did the girl said “it should be fine” - I said I have celiac and just need to confirm if possible - she “went to check” and then the phone hung up. So I called back 12-15 times and they never answered. So disappointed, what a waste of $20. I should have confirmed at pick up AND apparently can’t order online from here ever again. I assumed it was a safe place to order because it’s advertised as GF safe and the online order let me mark gluten allergy!! Big sad!

Great restaurant in Lake Geneva. The food is outstanding.and very healthy. Enough variety for different palates. The blueberry pancakes were perfectly made and they have real.syrup not that synthetic garbage most places serve. An excellent selection of teas served with a proper strainer. The staff are very friendly, personable and remember their interactions with customers from days prior.
The interior decor is pleasing, calming and colorful. The outdoor patio is clean and accented with flowers creating the perfect outdoor eating experience. Don't sleep on this spot. There is parking but if you park on the street don't forget to pay the meter. The city is diligent about collecting the revenue.

I used to dine here often when I lived in the area. Today while back in my birth place visiting me and a friend decided to revisit one of my favorite restaurants. The food was great we both agreed, but I am convinced that they put eye drops in my food or beverage for some reason because immediately after eating and leaving I got super explosive diarrhea, luckily I was close to a toilet. Being someone who has worked in the food service industry for 15 years I know they either are not keeping stuff at proper temperatures to prevent food Bourne illness and bacteria growth, or they felt offended in some way and physically put something in what I consumed to provoke the intense reaction. Sadly, this experience makes me want to choose a different establishment to support and nourish myself at.

I truly wanted to like this place. But the “chicken” salad was mostly salad. There were a few tiny pieces of what could be chicken but looked like processed pieces. Definitely not what one would consider chicken salad. The tiny cup of tomato soup was $5. In addition something I am always surprised about is that they do not accept Apple pay at the table. Something you get in Europe all over.

This was a nice, healthy breakfast! We really loved the potato side, which was crispy and flavorful. I took a chance on the hummus toast which felt more unique for a breakfast item, but I absolutely loved it. Creative dishes and fresh ingredients! I am a bit of a coffee snob, and this coffee was fabulous!

My husband and I decided to split the mushroom omelet and the apple crumble French toast; a little sweet and savory. Fabulous choice! The mushroom omelet had just enough flavor to not be overwhelming but still very interesting, a great balance between the mushrooms and the cheese! The French toast was as I expected, a drier French toast than some, sprinkled with sweetness and crumbles.

Our son ordered the Korean BBQ breakfast bowl and our DIL ordered the turkey brussel sprouts hash with eggs over easy - the richness of the eggs was beautiful! They each tasted the others and both said they could finish the others as well as theirs! That's a little too savory for me at breakfast, but that's the beauty of this place- delicious options!!

Good for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free!

WOW. One of the best breakfast I have had in a long time. I went for the Turkey Hash, and it was outstanding. I usually do toast as a side, but my wife insisted on me getting pancakes (as it is also her birthday) …. So I ordered that. Waitress came out with the foor and had put a little candle in the pancakes … very small gesture … but another reflection of a restaurant that goes over and beyond on it all ….. highly recommend - 5 stars all around. Don't ask for a fruit cup in May. I was given a cup of sliced green apples with craisins on top - eww. Green apples are so acidic and generally used for baking. Craisins? Great little gem off the main road but highly worth it. The name should be anything but simple. Eggs, homemade "hash" which was potatoes, sweet squash diced, shredded turkey that was juicy & just the right amount. Whole grain bread was good with homemade strawberry jam & honey butter. Toasted apple cinnamon French Toast with cinnamon crumble was to die for. Even the coffee was hot, strong & plentiful. They even have a little store next door to take home homemade bake good & fresh coffee beans. Great find.

Decided to come to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for a quick b-day getaway. On our last day there, I saw this place on Yelp and the food looked good so decided to try them on 12/1/24, a lazy cold Sunday morning. I was a little nervous because many of the reviews talked about having to wait awhile to be seated. We lucked up, this wasn't our situation as they seated us right away. It was packed in there. We got to sit by the window which was the perfect spot. At the particular time we got there, we didn't have to pay the metered parking which was sweet but please, make sure you check if you happen to park in those spaces to make sure you don't get a ticket.

Our female waitress was wonderful - friendly, kind and very attentive. We didn't have to wait long for our food. Breakfast is served all day which I love places that do. Our food was delicious! Everything was fresh! Pancakes were so yummy and yes, they were just as good, buttery and fluffy as my picture shows! Homemade chicken sausage was really good. The red potatoes I really liked - they sauteed it with green onions which really gave it a good flavor (I want to try this at home and see if I can come close to how theirs were).

The eggs get a paragraph all to themselves. My God! Those were the best eggs I have had in my life, do you hear me? They had to have just gotten those from a chicken - even the orangish-yellowish coloring of the eggs were different. I wanted to order more eggs but I couldn't fit it anywhere in my belly - I was too full :(

I really enjoyed my meal and hubby did too as he had the Korean BBQ Breakfast Bowl. Both of our plates were clean when we finished. I definitely want to return here. They have a bakery next door should you want to treat yourself to a sweet.

As a resident of the LG community my wife and I stepped in to have breakfast. As we were waiting for a table for two, we were asked to step outside because we were “in the way” of the servers. Every single server was standing at the hostess station and we were not even close to being in the way. I don’t mind waiting but being asked to stand outside when it’s 15° is just ridiculous. Their specialty Benedict (char siu) was wonderfully interesting while still tasting like a Benedict. Thoughtful and simple food! I stopped in on a rainy and dreary day, and nothing fits the bill better than a grilled cheese and soup.

The grilled cheese is on housemade bread that is hearty. Great selection of cheese to put in your grilled sando, and I chose Gruyère. The tomato soup is simple, creamy PERFECTION.

Considering this is a farm-to-table restaurant in Lake Geneva, it was not the 5-star experience I expected. Our server did an excellent job. He was pleasant and well-timed. I ordered a burger, which was delicious! The simple potatoes are exactly that... Simple and a bit plain, but I adore the farm-to-table method. The light fixtures are interesting to look at, but some are poorly placed. Watch your head! I also noticed quite a few fruit flies hanging out by the booths. If this place has a restroom, and I assume it must, it wasn't signed/labeled clearly. We also had to wait for a table, around 25 minutes, but the text system is great, so you can still wander off a little, but keep your spot. I would definitely place a to-go order in the future, but the dining-in experience wasn't so amazing that I'd wait for a table again.

Breakfast tacos, chilaquiles, eggs benedict, pancakes were not good. Eggs overpoached, one person left to go elsewhere. Unfortunately we would have been better off at McDonald's.

The one positive was the panang curry was surprisingly tasty. Wish everything else matched that. They did not.

Food is amazing, love that they change the menu based on seasonal local ingredients. Very fresh and very tasty door. I had the Korean pancakes, and though I was a little afraid that I wouldn't like them, I was extremely surprised! The mix for flavor was amazing and my wife enjoyed their breakfast sandwich, which was also just as amazing. The location has free parking, which is hard to come by in Lake Geneva. The atmosphere is nice and perfect for how they marked their branding. I wish they had a local location where I live in Gurnee/Grayslake area.

Been visiting here for years. Always fresh baked bread from Nextdoor. This trip had the Smoked chicken salad sandwich and this other chicken sandwich was so messy but so good!

Met family here for breakfast. Wasn't sure if I would find something for me on the menu or not. I was pleasantly surprised by multiple options that caught my attention. Very happy that I went with the corned beef hash and anxious to try something else next time! This place is down a little from the main street but very worth the couple minutes to drive or walk from the main strip and check out the shops between. Either way is a great choice!

UPDATE - We enjoyed this place so much the last time, we had to try it again. We were seated quickly, they accommodated the 2 small children in the group and the food and service were consistently good. The menu has good selections for everyone in the party to enjoy. Even if they have food restrictions. Haven't been disappointed here yet and I would be surprised if I ever was. Simple Cafe is definitely on my list of "go to" places!

I Googled farm to table lunch in Lake Geneva and ended up at this amazing Cafe! Huge selection of breakfast options but I went with the lunch side and ordered a chicken salad sandwich that was perfect. All of the ingredients were balanced, allowing me to get tastes of everything included but nothing was overpowering. I got hints of the smokey chicken, then the sweet grapes kicked in followed by the fresh arugula and then nothing but happiness in my mouth. Ordered a lemon and ginger tea, which was very refreshing. Huge selection of healthy fresh options and the staff were great. Love this place and can't wait to come back and try some breakfast options!

Fui para un brunch dominical y como era de esperarse tuvimos que esperar casi media hora. En lo personal disfruté mucho de mi platillo, era un bowl a la bbq con vegetales y carne de puerco. Los pancakes deliciosos. Lo único que no fue excelente es un poco la limpieza de los utensilios y la espera, aunque sé que es normal en domingo a la hora del brunch. Tampoco tienen muchas opciones de café o chocolate caliente.

A bit loud, especially next to large group…and the famous potatoes we love were instead big hunks and not chopped and somewhat crunchy as they have always been, otherwise food was good and service wonderful…a lot of choices on menu…those who prefer a “simple” entree can still do that although many choices have a lot of flavor combos

What a fantastic place! The wife and I visited this wonderful restaurant on our anniversary trip, and we were most pleased. They have a great bakery adjacent to the restaurant where we were able to get some great handmade pastries and local coffee while we were waiting to be seated. Believe me, the bakery comes in handy as this place appears to be the most popular in the city because it was absolutely buzzing, and you will certainly have a wait. On to the food, it was phenomenal. I can't say enough about the freshness of everything. The local organic eggs (which you can purchase next door by the way), the fresh house made sausage, the awesome home fries, the pumpkin pancakes, wow, wow, wow! The only drawback is the place is a little cramped, so the seating is a bit awkward, but that's a minor inconvenience for all the excellence this place exhibits otherwise. If you want a great breakfast experience, this place is a must. This will be our go to for breakfast in Lake Geneva whenever we're here.

I like to get the breakfast potatoes with salsa verde and chorizo. The pancakes are very good. Very talented chefs. Great waitstaff. Tom is there sometimes and is fun to talk to.

Big portions, incredibly friendly service. Only drip coffee, so get your latte from the coffee shop outside. Jessica (server) was awesome. Definitely be back, highly recommend asking for Jessica.

I ordered the bbq chicken sandwich. It was so incredibly DELICIOUS I could not stop eating it while I was driving and wearing my scrubs. Was so tastyI didn’t even care that it got on my shirt. This place has incredibly delicious food!!
