We had such a nice time. I bought a friend dinner on his birthday. He had beef wellington and I had shrimp in butter sauce. I'm unable to eat anything with citric acid or vinegar so it's challenging for me to eat out. The staff was very accommodating. We met the chef and my meal was perfect. My guest had beef wellington and it was perfection. Our tasebuds were overjoyed. It's expensive to eat out but this meal was worth it. Simpsons is a great asset for the Waupaca community. ☆☆☆☆

Been here several times in the past, last night was by far the worst meal we have had anywhere in a very long time. Drinks at the bar were wonderful, bartender is fantastic as always. We thought the appetizer of shrimp cocktail, would be served first, but our soup came first btw was very good, boyfriend had the tomato and I had chicken cordon blu soup, then the shrimp cocktail arrived-they needed to be thawed a little more, one was still frozen. Had to spit it out. My boyfriend had ribeye encrusted parmesan garlic topping, it looked more like and tasted like potatoes on top of the steak.He was never asked how he wanted it prepared, waitress took off b4 he could say anything. I had 6 oz filet migon with the same topping, I ve had it in the past, they must have changed it, again it looked like potato on top of filet, not like I've had there before, neither on of us cared for it, Couldnt eat my filet, was very close to rare. I ordered medium plus. Waitress NEVER came back one time to ask how anything was, so I was unable to send it back and have it cooked a little more. It was a Wed. night and there were maybe 5 tables in the restaurant, we were there over 1 hour most of the time waiting for our meal. Btw at this time we were the only ones in the room we were in, we were in the big room by the bathrooms. So I don't know what was goingon in the kitchen, but certainly waiting on customers was not a priority. A beer was also ordered, and it was brought at the end of our meal. We told them to keep it since we were finished. Very very disappointed in Simpsons.

Went with my wife and had the prime rib dinners. Interesting presentation. I've had lots of prime rib and in working in restaurants I've put thousands of rib primals in the Alto Shaam oven and cut and served them. The prime rib was quite good. Presentation was on an oval plate completely filled with au jus. Made cutting and eating without splashing yourself more than a bit of a chore. The horseradish is odd. It's inch long or more (likely the width of the root) small box grater sized shreds of horseradish. Typically horseradish is ground into a paste. Made it more than a challenge to put the amount you wanted on your bite of prime rib. Other than that, it was old school supper club WI prime rib dinner.

The French dip i had was good, and the place has a good atmosphere but the girlfriend had the salmon and everything about that plate was disgusting. Worst salmon I ever tried. The roasted garlic spread is not good. Definitely don't wanna eat that either. First and last time for me at this establishment.

What a wonderful place?
We were greeted with a smile and seated right away. Our waitress was prompt and friendly warm bread with garlic butter was served with a relish tray. Delicious! A nice glass of wine was served before the the main course. Our main course was served to perfection, hot, on time and delicious. Of course we had to have dessert and coffee. Timing was good, we were not rushed. The atmosphere was nice and quiet to have a romantic evening with my wife.

Simpson’s has been a staple in my family’s life since 1977 when we moved to town. It’s always been a place for special times. They accommodated a short-notice post funeral gathering for us. Service was top notch and the food and drinks were delicious. Highly recommend.

Fired their best cleaner because she couldn't deep clean in less than 4 hours. This place has bad higiene. Their food is mediocre, honestly. Sure it's fancy, but not worth it. I've seen the ins and outs of that place and it's honestly pretty gross. The kitchen is not cleaned sufficiently by no means. If you have money to waste, go here. If you don't like this place, go to the Wheelhouse.

Last minute reservation for 20 people, they made accommodations and exceeded our expectations! They put our wedding party in a back room, where we were by ourselves almost for the whole time we were there. The food was absolutely delicous, and service was top notch!!

If you're looking for an awesome Wisconsin fishfry. Go elsewhere!!! this was hands down the worst fish fry I ever had ever. It was a large one piece haddock that was deep fried or something and was black to dark brown in color the crust was shiny and smooth rock hard. When I cut it open oil leaked out.. crazy nasty... . The cook must have quit. Because this was a joke . They need to revamp their fish fry ..I predict this place is going out of business.. it was Friday night 6:00 p.m. and the place was empty.

Let me just start out by saying, the best part of the meal was the Old Fashion!
Took my husband to Simpson’s for his birthday dinner this past Saturday night. I had the queen prime & he had the New York strip. He said his was ok. Not great. My prime was horrible! It was done fine but the cut & taste was something to be desired! It had so much grizzle in the meat, I had a hard time even cutting it. It was more like a Ribeye, which I don’t like for that reason , And it wasn’t all that tender. When I order a prime rib, it should be able to be cut with a knife, not a saw!
When you go out to eat at a nice restaurant, and pay $110.00 for 2 drink & 2 meals, you would think there product would be better than good.
I tried to eat my leftovers and can’t just not good.
The waiteress was ok. But didn’t seem to concerned. She would just glide by our table while asking how everything was. She didn’t give us a chance to tell her how awful our meals were.
I guess they got our money so what do they care now. I just hope others don’t run into this. We would have been better off going to our local restaurant and had a pizza, saved the driving and a lot of money!!! Now we know and will never be back!

Disappointing. Prime rib was fatty and tough. Salad was basic and the potato was cold and hard. The waitress was nice but obviously had too many table throughout the restaurant which affected the service. She did offer to replace the steak with a 6 ounce steak but I was over it at that point. Gave have her a 25 percent tip because she did try. Spent 200 dollars . Not worth the price. Try harder for your next customers. I won’t return. Much better restaurants out there.

This is a great supper club. Restaurant is clean and staff is friendly. Food was tasty and cooked to perfection. The restaurant serves some rolls with an awesome garlic spread, which you can purchase to take home if you want. I had the pecan crusted whitefish and my partner had a steak. Both were very tasty. We each had a sweet brandy old fashion which wasn't bad but needed less bitters.

Oh my goodness. I regret not writing this review sooner because now I can't remember the name of our waiter. But we got to Waupaca pretty late on a Monday in September and went to a different restaurant at 9. They said their kitchen was open, then came back and said... Just kidding our hours changed ...today. We didn't have time or many options on a Monday night, but came across Simpson's. We were apologetic for being so late, but they made us feel SO WELCOME. I'm glad the previous restaurant had awful service because then we wouldn't have had the opportunity to come here. We were celebrating our anniversary (although the waiter didn't know that) and the food was absolutely wonderful. And to top it off, I had the best Old Fashioned I've ever had in my entire life. Props to the bartender! I had the mushroom soup (perfectly seasoned), and the broiled fish (amazing sauce). My husband had fried fish with perfectly cooked but slightly crunchy vegetables. He still talks about how great his meal was... Weeks later.

Read all of the reviews good or bad. Still decided to give this restaurant a try and I'm so glad I did. First of all, the quality of the product served is top notch and with that comes higher costs. My wife and I had seared ahi tuna appetizer, broiled scallops and the 16oz prime rib.
The ahi tuna was quite excellent, maybe a little bit to much pepper for my wife. The scallops were the best my wife and I ever had. We've traveled all over this country and tried scallops everywhere. Hands down the most sweetest and freshest scallops.
The prime rib was actually prime!

We loved this place and can not think of a better meal we've had except for Simpson's. Just wish we lived closer so we could be a Saturday night regular.

A dissapointing stop on our WI Supper Club tour. Food was excellent! Service was poor. Resturant was not busy, party of 6. Waited quite awhile for recognition at our table, drinks to be delivered and even longer for food. Had to ask for complimentary bread/veggies, water refills and finally we went to the bar to get another round of drinks. Our waitress seemed ‘put off’ by our dessert order. We came in without a reservation and the host told us that it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait. A father with two sons came in without a reservation. It appeared that the host knew the father. They were told the same thing. We had been sitting there 30 minutes and they were sitting the father and sons at a table that had been empty since we got there. The host passed by is as he was seating them and thanked for waiting. Apparently they don't really care about serving everyone fairly. Will never return or recommend to anyone. We left and went to Rose Garden family restaurant. We were seated immediately. Our food came out in quickly. We were not even done with our delicious clam chowder. Great spaghetti and the roasted garlic you get with the bread is addictive! UPDATE!! My husband and I went in for dinner on Thursday night. They no longer carry the spaghetti with marinara sauce which I was sad about. I was looking at the menu and being a vegetarian i didn't see anything that i could eat so i asked the waitress what they have. She went back to the kitchen and asked the chef about it. Well he made me a delicious pasta dish with fresh vegetables in a cream sauce! I just want to say thank you so much for making that for me!! Went here last night with a total party of 8. The host was super friendly and told us it was a half hour wait. Over an hour later we were seated. Our server made contact, told us the specials and then disappeared. We finally ordered and three of us got the special. A few minutes later the server came back and told us the special was out so they had to re order. The food seemed to take a long time. Half the table got their food and then 5 minutes later, the rest came out. I ordered the Fisherman’s Bonanza. Two overcooked, over seasoned scallops, two fried shrimp and three tiny pieces of fried fish for $36. The shrimp were big and good but under seasoned. There was nothing special about the fish. The steaks looked over done and everything just seemed under seasoned, no flavor. Hope they figure it out. The place is really nice and the bar staff/ host were very nice.

After checking out the carved pumpkins at the library, my buddy and I decided to eat here. No regrets! He got the steak special. And he upgraded to the crock of French onion soup. That cost 7 bucks! I thought when it comes with soup, the upgrade should not cost 7 bucks. But it did. I'm not taking away a star because of that. But consumers beware! The crock of French onion soup is a 7 buck upgrade. And he said it was too sweet. I had the seared Ahi tuna. It was spicy with the chili sauce! But boy did I enjoy it. I really liked the bread and veggies they brought out before dinner, too. It was a great experience for dinner. I loved my meal! It was delicious.

I don't usually review places I go, so this says a lot about why I am taking the time to do this.

The server did not know the soup of the day and only offered 1 soup with no choices. The chicken geens lentil soup had no lentils and the broth tasted like bath water. The dinner was overpriced for what it was. The chicken and biscuit needed a search party for the chicken. The sauce was so oily I could barely get it down. Was concerned about feeding it to my dogs when I got home because my stomach was still upset 3 hours later. The rest of my group chose the Mahi Tuna. It was flavorless with a wasabi sauce that made the meal almost impossible to eat. The stuffed shrimp was sadly 3 shrimp for $26 and left a lot to be desired as well.

My husband and I had lunch here for the first time and the food was delicious however, the bartender was so rude he soured my appetite. We decided to eat at the bar and the bartender and a customer where playing some sort of dice game at the end of the bar continuously slamming a cup with dice down on the bar. It didn't bother us until we started eating and the slamming of the dice/cup shook the bar (beyond loud and obnoxious) I politely asked the bartender to hold off on his game until we finished our meal. The bartender told me and my husband "That's why we have tables!" So in other words, the bar is for him and his friend to enjoy a dice game and drink alcohol while on the job( yes I noticed the bartender drinking) and obviously not for paying customers to eat. The food might have me return but not if I see that bartender!!!!

Spent $43 on an 8oz medium rare steak waitress checked in but I hadn't noticed just how bad the steak was I was eating my soup I got with the meal that they had forgotten. It was burnt on the outside and almost well done on the inside tried two small bites couldn't do it waitress was great but after I brought it to her attention all she said was you should have said something sooner I told her she can keep the steak I can't eat it and offered nothing off the bill or to make a new one. Everything else was fantastic though. Last time I was there I ordered the prime rib and it was perfect. I guess it's a hit and miss.

Food portions are a little small for the price, but you won't go home hungry. Very much a fancy supper club feel. So, if you're looking for a fancy place in Waupaca this is it. Service is great, food taste and presentation was excellent.

I went this restaurant tonight with my family. Server was nice and provided good service.

Price was somewhat reasonable for the quality of food. My 'Fisherman's Bonanza' was great! Most of my family enjoyed their food except for my son. He said that his Italian beef sandwich was too salty. It became soggy in a short period of time so he wasted most of his food.

Torte was delicious. $6 per piece wasn't bad at all.

I will revisit here when I come back to Wisconsin again.

We were camping 🏕️ outside the area and wanted to find a nice super club to enjoy a nice calming sit down dinner 🍽️ did a Google search 🔍 and this place was an option, glad we decided to go, it was a very delicious dinner and the bartender to the bus person were very friendly and professional, but still approachable and genuine.

Excellent! Recommended by the hotel receptionist. We both got the sherry braised beef short rib special with polenta and shallots and it was devine! The ribs, fork tender & the polenta, soooo creamy! The shallots set it off to perfection! We travel a lot and we've had many "good" meals, but as we were eating we both said there are few that we can say are "memorable". This was one of those meals.
The only other one that we could remember that was comparable was a tiny restaurant near the Canadian border during our Lake Superior Circle Tour. Totally unexpected. The chef was from the Caribbean. At least Simpson's is close enough for us to be able to visit again.....Waupaca is one of our favorite getaway spots. We're already looking forward to visiting Simpson's again next time we're in town!
