I sat at the bar as a singleton at 7:30 on Saturday. The bartender was charming, efficient, and watching him interact with other patrons was a pleasure…a huge value-add to the top notch food. I had a Skippy burger and it was great, and tots as a side…also great. As a sometime beer snob I was impressed with the draft selections. These guys know beer. I’ll be back and would recommend this fine establishment to anyone. Kudos.

I'm a burger enthusiast and am a big fan of this small burger bar. For food options in Thiensville proper (not Mequon) this is simply one of the top options. I've tried at least 5 of the burgers on the menu and all are very tasty. Amount of fries given with meals is a little on the lighter side for my preferences but should be plenty for most people. I also highly recommend the maple bourbon old fashioned and loaded maple tots! Service is always amazing as well. Thanks Skippy's ❤️

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had it was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor! The service wasn’t the friendliest, as our waitress seemed a bit rushed and impatient despite it being midday, which took away from the overall vibe a little. It was our first time as our mutual friend recommended Skippy’s. We were told the burgers were the best and service great.
Our server was rude and very unfriendly, she slammed down our drinks and I asked for waters twice and brought only one!
Burgers can’t have any pink as she mentioned we usually like medium to medium rare.
They were not that busy as several tables were empty and it took over 40 minutes to get our food!

Small, cozy, family-owned pub serving decent burgers. It is best to go on a Tuesday when a few of the burgers are offered for $6. They offer typical bar food plus some weekly specials. Very friendly staff. Customers are mostly local regulars. The place is kid-friendly, but I have not seen many families eating there.

Our first time to this little gem of a pub! From the moment we walked in the staff was friendly and welcoming. We sat at the bar and our bartender talked with us about the Menu and different local favorites. My Husband and I ordered the fried pickles to start, absolutely delicious! Went to skippy’s on Sunday. I should note that I’ve been to skippy’s multiply times before.
I ordered a burger and chips as did my friend. Both our burgers were severely over cooked. The chips were also overdone. I ordered an egg on my burger over easy and it was completely cooked with no running yolk. The meat was extremely dry and even crusty on the edges.

The owners son was working behind the bar and asked us how everything was. I politely stated that my burger was way over cooked. My friend then said the same.
Bartender said I’m sorry and also said he would check the temp tape it should be 145 degrees. He went back to the kitchen and after he came back out never mentioned the temp tape. I should note there was another gentleman st the bar who was a regular there and he also said his burger was overcooked.

I had eaten over half of my burger and the owners son asked me if I wanted a fresh burger. I said no thank you. He could have and should have offered to buy us a beer at the very least. Unfortunately we will never go back to skippy’s again. Bill

Swiss and mushroom burger is flavorless and had little mushrooms. Fries & chips are unseasoned I added a lot of salt and it still wasn’t enough. I asked waiter what was the difference between the fries and she couldn’t even tell m it was like a potato chip I asked her if it was like a tortilla chip and she just wasn’t very helpful. I wouldn’t come again unless the food was free I’ve had better burgers at Culver’s. Unless your drinking and eating sure maybe this place but if your coming to eat pass and go somewhere else.

Let's get right to the point:
- Maple Brandy Old Fashioned is delicious; had two of them and they both were made consistently and went down easily
- Better Mac (burger) is messy to eat but is made perfectly; tender burger that's seasoned well, the bun was soft and fluffy, and the pickle chips are worthy of being eaten on their own.
- Tater tots (side) were seasoned well, perfectly crispy, and a nice contrast to the mess created from attempting to eat the Better Mac with dignity

Overall, it was a great place to quash the borderline hanger my wife was about to enter into and I can confidently recommend coming here!

I remember my first Big Mac. It was the best thing I had ever eaten up to that point, and it was my favorite. Fast forward to the present. I hadn't had one in decades, so I ordered one, and it just wasn't as good as I remembered. So, when I saw the Better Mac on the menu, I had to give it a try. Wow, it brought back memories of those burgers that I loved, and now it's my favorite burger. I order it every time and am never disappointed. I highly recommend it. Also, the onion rings and soup are really good. And my dining partner loves the fish fry.

We've heard this place was good, so we had to try it for ourselves.

We had our puppy, so we ate outside. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Our server was wonderful and very attentive.

I had the Wedge salad and the CPR platter and really enjoyed it. My wife had the Hot Dam Chicken, which she loved and said she'd order again. We both loved the fantastic fries.

Stopped in for an early dinner with a friend on a Wednesday evening. Since it was beautiful outside, we chose the outdoor dining. Our server, Jessica, was sweet and very helpful. We live nearby and always pass this place- recently saw it on the list of best burgers in Wisconsin so had to try it! Underwhelmed was an understatement. We each got double burgers with a side of chive and onion fries. Ordering burgers like this- came to be around 19$ each. The meat was honestly bland. They didn't ask how we wanted our burgers done and they arrived well done. The bacon was like the cheap, thin sysco bacon. I was really missing a nice grill flavor which I didn't get with this burger at all. The fries were...OK. The portion size was small. We each got 2 drinks and they were all a tad too sweet and weak. With the two burgers, four drinks, and a tip, our total was close to $100. We were shocked because the food was absolutely not worth that cost. We came around 4 pm on a Saturday. It wasn't busy at all. We won't be back.

Grabbed a parking space in the lot. The Friday afternoon crowd was already at the bar, the dining room was empty (3:30 p.m.). Immediately seated, served water, and our beverage order was taken. I was on the hunt for a good burger in the area, and figured I'd give it a shot.
Jay on the phone who took my order was outstanding, he was so kind and patient.
When I got there, I had to wait a few more minutes for my order. So as I ordered I paid attention to my surroundings and truly fell in love with Skippy's. I loved how it felt like a family atmosphere, even though it was a bar. The food was great. One of the best burgers I've ever had. I was so shocked and also, impressed.
I'm only here for 3 days, but I will definitely be going back.

It's a family restaurant bar in a small suburban community. You can think the theme to "Cheers" -- where everybody knows your name! It's a bar! People are drinking and laughing, watching sports, eating burgers, fries, onion rings, etc.

They do have a family night and a restaurant in the rear that accommodates children but IT'S A BAR!! There is seating outside in the summer and warmer months. You can get food for takeout and they have specials on some days to attract family style.

I LOVE this BAR! I bring friends here because sometimes I just want to go, "where everybody knows my Service Dog's name"! 🤣

Let me first say I reached out to the restaurant (Skippy’s-Thiensville, WI) regarding our experience. No response to date.
The Friday evening (6/17/23) I, my wife and two other couples had dinner at hour restaurant.
This was our first visit. Once our order was taken the table service was ok.
My "meal" was the grilled traditional cod with frys.
After a lifetime of WI fish fry's around WI I can honestly say this was the worst fish meal I have ever had.
The fish portion was not sufficient to feed a child. When my plate was delivered the extra small portion of fish was hard to see under the frys.
The fish was lightly battered and overly salted, comments shared with those we were with.

The frys were so hard I could not bite/chew them. Don't know if the frys were old or overcooked..
I and I believe my dinner friends did not want to make a scene in front of others.
Our table comments echoed each other as the meal went on.
It should also be noted that the waitress never came back to ask about how our "first bites" were.

Went out for lunch with a friend. We started with log cabin tots, they are loaded tater tots. Which the toppings covered every tot! The were creamy and rich definitely recommend. I had the horsey melt, and they tried the Better Mac both fantastic! The chips are thin and crispy and paired the skip dip were amazing! I went for a drink and snack after a 12-hour work day with some friends last night. The waitresses were rude and condescending. I accidentally spilled my drink when I first got my food when I was rearranging the table. The drink was full. I was so embarrassed. The waitresses came to help clean it but never offered me another drink or say anything to make me feel better even though I apologized multiple times. I had the Skippy burger for the third time, it's just so GUD. Also, their onion rings are EPIC. The place is full of happy locals and I recognized some of my neighbors and people I met around town. It's a great burger pub!
