I used to love coming to this course, but it is not nearly worth the hour-long drive anymore. Every single white tee box and green is beat to hell, I’m not sure anyone who’s played the course in the past week has ever fixed their divot or ball mark. The fairways and roughs were in great shape though. The hole 16 green was roped off and we were not told before our round.

Let me tell you why I am giving this golf course ONE star. The fact of the matter is someone there took my stepdads range finder. My stepdad accidentally left his nice range finder in the golf cart he was using and on his way home (lives an hour and a half away) he called immediately to let the manager know. The manager said he had it and it was on his desk the exact one that was described to him. Instead of mailing the correct Bushnell range finder, they mailed us a far less expensive incorrect range finder and claimed that that was the one that they had. I sent an email to them 2 weeks ago explaining the situation, AGAIN, and asked them to let us know where my stepdads range finder is. No response. Poor management.

I’ve golfed at many public courses for over 15yrs, and have never been to a course where you are timed for golfing. Came from out of town with a group, and we were looking forward to golfing. Members accused us of leaving trash and tearing up the greens...we did none of those. We’ve all golfed long enough to know not to do that! We did see broken tees left behind and MANY cigarette butts, none of which belonged to our group. As far as our slow paced golfing, we were told by management that there was a group of 20 in front of us. We saw 2 groups of 5 on the course in front of us. There were 2 couples behind us, who we let go around us. If management had an issue, they should have come out onto the course themselves. Instead they sent 2 young women, separately, to inform us. When we arrived back at the clubhouse, the manager was waiting because they needed our carts. We explained we had 2 tee times reserved for our group of 5, but that didn’t seem to matter to him. And he seemed to forget that HE told us that there was a group of 20 before us. Would NOT recommend this course if you are from out of town and are looking for a nice course to go to.

As a member of a very reputable golf course, I do not, absolutely do not recommend spending your money to golf at this course. This business is a complete waste of your money. My mother is handicap, we came as a family from out of town, and wanted a nice place to golf to make some special memories while we were away together. They tried to say that we left items on the greens and that we didn't golf fast enough. We were very respectful, we all golf, we never did anything wrong and wouldn't have even dreamed of that. We golfed at our own pace, enjoyed the beautiful day, while making memories, and that was a huge problem for them. They watched us at we finished hole 9 and then criticized us as soon as we returned to return our carts. We didn't golf fast enough for them, they needed the carts. There is a 2 hour limit per group. We golfed 9 holes in 2:40. And we selected two tee times back to back to cover ourselves. I have never been so disrespected at a public club in my entire life. We will never ever recommend this place to anyone that comes this way for a weekend getaway. Find a better course. This one is garbage.

Terrible staff!! Avid golfer here that has been to many other golf courses in other states and know how it works!! Choose another golf place if you’re not from town! We booked 2 tee times, just making memories with our handicap mom, had 3 carts which the guys knew we had 6 people heading out together when we paid, they were fine with it. Once we finished 9 holes the staff were very angry and very RUDE that we took 2hrs and 40 minutes for 9 holes because they NEEDED golf carts!! We had two tee times and paid like every other person! Seen a group of 8 and a group of 6 we saw also playing together but we apparently in the wrong and took too long golfing! They had a wedding and NO golfers waiting for carts when we returned our carts but the staff were SO rude! We kept pace with everyone in front of us and NO one was behind us! Worst golf course I’ve ever been too! DO NOT recommend them!! Go ELSEWHERE!!

Very beautiful landscape - 3/5 stars because the times my wife and I have golfed at this course they obviously overbooked tee times (waiting 10-15 mins every tee box). Another star taken away because the greens were terrible, I'm not talking about a couple small scuffs, I'm talking 3-7 foot wide bald sand spots on multiple greens. Definitely still would play there and recommend it, but be forewarned, they overbook tee times, and the greens are horrendous. Once those things are addressed/fixed, it will be a magnificent golf course.

The price it too high for the rotted patches of grass on the putting surface of many greens, $25 a person for a cart without GPS is too much, that being said, the layout is exceptional and the back 9 through the forest is challenging, the fairway grass on 18 is the nicest grass I've ever felt, you could lay down and take a nap or roll around like a hippie. The beverage cart girl on Saturday 6/15 with her spaghetti strap top got you 5 stars on what could have been as low as 2, give her a raise.

Great place to stop for a round. Decent pro shop and bar area. Awesome staff. Round prices were decent for this quality of a course. Fairways and rough were in shape. Most greens were cut well for this early season; just a few had some damage spots for this early season. Tee boxes in good shape. The layout of the course was done well and not crowded for being somewhat in town. The elevation and terrain changes in the fairway really kept someone on their toes. And then most of the back 9 into the established woods made for some interesting club selections.

Went for dinner & was very disappointed in everything, food, service & menu.
Ordered an appetizer, waited, waited, waited.
Ordered food: 1 was uneatable, 1 wrap was so soggy it should have been a salad, no one finished their meals. They must have had to go to the market to get the ingredients for our dinners it took that long, it took so long to get 4 meals. Won't be back for meals, might give the course another try.

Came here to eat not golf. First waitress must have just got done and forgot to bring us our drinks. We had to go to the bar and ask for our drinks and had to order at the bar and went back to our table. Once we got our food we had to go get ketchup, napkins, and other condiments that the new waitress did not bring. They forgot dressing for the salad and the broasted chicken was NOT done. We were so irritated that we were just ready to leave. The chicken wings were tiny and dry as you could get. Waitress never check on our table at all and only made an appearance to bring us our bill. Bill charged us twice for taxes. The waitress who was the bartender was more concerned about talking to a guy at the bar and it was non stop. Everything was a disaster. One and done here, won’t be back.

Brought 13 people to golf for an event for a family reunion. Almost $48 a person, 5 bought meals at the turn and all together we probably spent $200-250 with the beverage cart. The clubhouse manager was a snotty, "attitude" filled young man. Was "put out" that I called ahead of time (twice) and stopped in person the day before to ok a fivesome. Told me I must have talked to bar employees because "not a golf course in the country will let you do a fivesome"! We spent almost a $1000, feel like we were treated like we had never set foot on a golf course before. The course was in poor shape as well, greens had been aerated recently and putting was difficult. No mention of that!! We will look for a different place next time!! That manager needs a hospitality lesson!!!

We went to eat Saturday night. Got ready to order an no prime rib, which was the Saturday special. Ordered food. Took a long time to come out and when it did all the orders were wrong. And we were told that they we out of what we ordered when the food came out. So we didn't get half of what we ordered. The food that did come out was overcooked or missing things. Like the au ju for the sandwich, stated in the menu it came with it, only to be told the cook had none, once the food came. Long waits in between the 6 different orders from our table. It's frustrating when we couldn't eat together. One person was done eating before the last person got there food. Really need to get thier act together.

Well I tell you tonight was the last night I will ever come here to eat again!! So very disappointed! Tonight around 6pm we came in for prime rib and guess what? No prime rib tonight they said!! Need to update the prices on their menu that's on their Facebook page. The 8 piece chicken meal with 2 large sides says 17.99 but they charge me 18.99. I also ordered 1 extra breast, 1 extra thigh and 2 extra legs and they charged me for a small meal but I didn't get 2 small sides. Please update your menu prices. Their chicken is delicious.

We attended a Christmas party at Skyline over the weekend. The food was delicious, but the beef tips were very grisly with lots of bits that were inedible. The flavors were great but there needed to be more attention paid to trimming the beef. The bar was mostly well stocked, but they ran out of root beer schnapps and vanilla Cuddy.
The staff was friendly and prompt, it was clean and well lit.

Where do i start.
I was in town for just a few days and i took my son here b/c he wanted play since we were in town. Great course 👍, the front 9 in nice, it is in transition to being great but the back 9 is great 👍. Now if your not a straight driver, you may look past the challenge and beauty of it. The fairways are cut right through the forest, it is so beautiful and quite challenging. The carts are very clean and well maintained. As the course is challenging so are the cart paths in some locations, steep down hills and sharp curves, be careful.

Usually Skyline is pretty good, but Saturday Oct 12 we went in for dinner, I had Jumbo shrimp and mashed potatoes. It came out cold sent back they threw in the microwave, potatoes were too hot and shrimp was rubbery. Husband had rib eye steak wanted medium rare came back on the medium side. More than half the steak was fat. When waitress asked how everything was we said the worst ever. I know its not her fault but nothing was said. I don't know if cooks have changed but something really needs to be fixed.
Only thing was comped was the salad because salad bar wasnt up and running that night.

Excellent expérience at the Thai food event! Delightful food, service, atmosphere and friendly people 😄 I highly recommend you try it. They're having another event on September 19th I think it is? Check out their Facebook, but it will be another food event. And you sit at these round tables where you can just easily chat with others if they join you, it's wonderful :-) I loved it. such relaxing views of the windows... We were a group of 20 women on our annual girls golf weekend June 22. We had made tee times over 2 months prior to the date.
Issue 1:
When we arrived at the course about 45 minutes before our tee times, we all checked in and paid and at that time we were told that they were short of carts but people were coming in and we would have enough on time for us to go out. We were short 4 carts for 7 gals. An HOUR AFTER OUR TEE TIME , they finally got their carts. To make up for it after complaining, each of the 8 got a beverage of their choice.
Issue 2:
When we were going out, the 12 of us who did have carts asked if there was a beverage cart. We were told yes. So rather than get coolers, we decided that we would use the beverage cart so the gal would benefit with tipping. When my foursome was on #7, we had not seen her other than she drove by in the distance. One of our party called the clubhouse to request the cart and was told “sure”. After hole 9, we went in to the clubhouse because she was a no show.
Issue 3:
Once in the clubhouse, my partner and I were told by staff behind the bar that the cart girl “was only for the bachelor party because they requested it”. They also said they were super busy because they had 2 bachelor parties, one of which had booked 2 days before. They were told not to service anyone but the bachelor party they said. They went on to say that they are never this busy and they never have a beverage cart on Saturdays.
Issue 4:
There was NO ONE IN CHARGE. We couldn’t talk to anyone that had any authority to reconcile the issues. Finally, a board member called the manager and one of our party talked to him and he gave the 8 who waited an hour for the cart a free drink.

The staff were rude and would/could do nothing more than criticize the manager. This course lost a lot of $$ this Day. Normally, we would have stayed for dinner and drinks, not here. The fact that they way overbooked and treated us in this manner is appalling. We will NEVER go back there, nor will any of us recommend this course to anyone. Many of us are members of our local golf club which would have bent over backwards for a group of 20.

SHAME on this course for over booking like they did and doing NOTHING to right the wrong! I will also mention that one of the carts we did get had a broken frame so the top was so low that I had to duck to get in it. This was an example of customer service at its WORST.

Didn't enjoy it very much because of the overgrown roughs, fairways and tee boxes. Much much better municipal golf courses elsewhere. And no, I do not offer suggestions on how to make it a 5 star because you would have to tear it all down and start from scratch. The course is way too hilly and mountainous. Not enough danger signs for the carts to follow.

Skyline is a hidden gem of Black River Falls. Beautiful course, cheap rates, and great service staff. I plan to be golfing here more next summer.
