We LOVED this place! First time here. We travel for a living and have eaten at SO many places. This is a new fav! We had the Burrata Crustini, which is a bit misleading. It's not a cracker crunchy Crustini. It's a nice, thick piece of almost sourdough bread, toasted. Great texture with flavorful prosciutto and AMAZING Burrata. Then we had the Italian Beef and Sausage sandwich with cheese with was KILLER! We also had the Spicy Linguine Seafood Pasta. It's a spicy garlic wine marinara sauce, but it's VERY light and the seafood was cooked to perfection! The Happy Hour from 3-6 was awesome with discount drinks and apps. Will totally be back!

Arrived Sunday shortly after opening. David greeted us immediately with a warm and genuine smile. David the bartender was busy but kind at the bar. We sat inside with J. She took her time with us, was accommodating with the menu as I didn't realize the weekend special wasn't available on sundays-she made it happen. She talked about drink specials and advised on options. She quickly became busy, having 9 tables between inside and outside but still was attentive and thoughtful. The food-AMAZING! I had the salmon and it was delicious, a little crispy and flavorful. My husband had a pizza and the crust was perfect! We shared the loaded tots which were delicious and we loved the dipping sauce. It is so hard to find great service and food but they did both !!!

The food slapped, the drinks were almost too good (in the best way), and bartender Zach deserves a raise and a trophy.

But the music? Let’s just say it gave “Saturday night at Chili’s with your parents” energy. The volume was fine, but the playlist felt like it was curated by someone who thinks Earth, Wind & Fire is still edgy. Love a good throwback, but when the crowd is in their 20s and 30s, and it’s a Saturday night, we need something that says party, not power walking playlist. Still, I’d come back, just maybe with earbuds next time.

My recent visit to Slip 56 was, unfortunately, a deeply disappointing experience that left much to be desired. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere felt more like a nightclub than a restaurant. The music was loud, disco-style tracks that was in no way reflective of the clientele.
The lighting was so dim coupled with black paint throughout made it seem like dining in a cave. To make matters worse, the table & menus were sticky, raising immediate concerns about cleanliness. The presentation of the food only added to the disappointment. The fries were lukewarm on the outside but cold on the inside, as if they’d been sitting out for too long before being served. The calamari was an even bigger letdown—void of any taste, soggy, and completely lacking the crispiness you’d expect.
Service was another low point. Our water glasses sat empty for the entire meal and had to flag ‘em down for the check.
I’d recommend steering clear until some serious improvements are made.

My daughter and I enjoyed our dinner tonight. It was hoppin’ for a Wednesday night, but we only waited 10 minutes for a table. Our server.Kasey, was friendly, cheerful and very accommodating.

I love this place for their happy hour martinis and the mac and cheese with buffalo chicken. Their pinsas and appetizers are a big hit throughout my friend group as well.

The service can sometimes be lacking, but I chalk that up to new/young staff and busy times of the day. If you can, I'd choose to sit at the bar. It's the quickest way to get a drink.

This is a favorite when walking downtown because I absolutely love their black bean patty and they let you swap it for any beef patty burger they have on the menu. The service is always great. I’ve been here twice. The first time I went for lunch with my son, we were sat outside and were forgotten about for about 20 min until we said something. Waitress came took our drinks order and disappeared for another 20min. Took our food order that took over an hour to get served. Food was good. But service was terrible. How ever I gave them benefit of doubt and figured maybe it was just a bad day. Went again last night. AGAIN same thing happened. They sat us outside and never came back. We didn’t even have menus! Finally we asked for a server and this girl took our drinks order. Took her 25 min to bring me a mimosa. Then took over an hour to bring my food. When my food arrived she didn’t have silverware for us. She said sorry she’d be right back and was never came back. We had to ask another two servers to please bring silverware! That took another 15 min to finally have a fork to eat with. Then when I asked for the check I told her if I don’t have the check in 3 min. I’m leaving. I have somewhere to be and this is taking ridiculously long. Well surprise surprise!!! She came out with the check IMMEDIATELY! So this place sucks!!! If you can come and bring me the check that fast, then you could’ve certainly provided better service. I’m Never going back!!

The seafood linguini was so so delicious and filled with calamari, clams, mussels baby scallops and shrimp…. A very very nice sized portion. We are in Italy a few months each year…. With that said, this seafood pasta is as close as Italian as I’ve had in years…. The sauce was just tasty spicey and crazy good too…. The chicken parm with Vodka meat sauce (slip 56 sauce). Currently sitting in their dining area watching their owner drinking with friends while his staff is scrambling to keep afloat. Have been sitting here for over an hour and 15 mins with the boyfriend and his family, only given drinks and an apology from a waitress who’s busting her butt. Was sat then immediately forgotten about for about 20mins, then tended to. Got our drinks and then was told to wait on our drinks from the bar for another 10. Got our food 1hr 45 mins later, everyone’s food except for mine was cold. Constant excuse of “we’re really busy” “really packed”, but looking around I don’t see anything causing their business to lack this bad. The owner is sitting table next to us, watching his staff scrambling and watched us not get served for that amount of time. How sad, business sucks, food sucks

Honestly, it’s hit or miss. One day I came in and loved the drinks and food but the service was really bad- one of the waitresses was sooo cold & bothered like she’d rather be anywhere else but there (and it’s work so I get it, but come on, don’t take it out on the customers- especially if you want a tip). Next week the food I liked was no longer on the menu (seafood pinsa) but the service was great. Came back a diff day for drinks and fried calamari just to be told they were out of some of the ingredients for the drink I wanted and the calamari that’s usually a large serving was merely a hand full of over cooked & chewy like calamari jerky. Next time the calamari was great again & the pasta was amazing plus the waitress (very pretty with brown curly hair) was so sweet and accommodating. Then came back again and the pasta and salad were on point, same waitress and great customer service. Fast forward to last week and the same pasta I’ve ordered multiple times came incredibly watered down/ soupy? No thick sauce, nothing that would stick to the pasta at all- almost like eating Italian ramen… so it was a big, bland, splattery mess. And this time we were unfortunate and got the same waitress as the first time. It was BAD, she was so rude at some points that I thought she was joking and she only came to the table a couple of times. Then at the end she asked for more of a tip. My tip is- ask your coworker (the waitress with the curly hair) for advice on how to be a better waitress. Will I try to give the restaurant another shot? Yes, but this time I’ll ask to sit in a different waitress’s section/ leave if that’s not possible. **I don’t know the waitress’s name but she had a pointy and a large heart necklace. This was one of my favorite restaurants in Kenosha. My wife and I came here almost every week (take out or dine in) for her favorite comfort meal- the linguine alla diavola. Whenever any family or friends came into town we’d recommend Slip 56/take them there for lunch or dinner. Unfortunately, after last night I will not be going back and I’m going to make sure I let everyone I know about my horrible experience. I took my wife and her family out for dinner. Everything went great until the bill came. I paid and tipped- even though our waitress spent a total of 3 mins at our table collectively. Then she comes back puts the bill in front of the table and asks if there was something wrong with the service and why I tipped so low. Everyone heard except my wife who is autistic & had an air pod in because it was very loud. My wife just gave a big smile & a thumbs up and said she did a great job thinking she was asking how she did. When we left my wife gave the waitress a big smile and said bye to which the waitress rolled her eyes and put on a very rude expression. My wife couldn’t understand why the “nice waitress” looked at her that way. I told her the waitress wasn’t happy with how much I tipped. She started crying and made me turn around so she could go back apologize profusely to everyone around and tip an extra $20-30 because she loves this restaurant and doesn’t want anyone there to be mean to her. For the rest of the night she was anxious and sad about the situation. I’ve never experienced such disgusting & disappointing service/ behavior from a waitress & restaurant. We spend at least $100- $150 whenever we come in and to have a waitress be so rude is just mind blowing. If I wanted service like that I’d go to Dick’s last resort. I don’t know how the owners condone their waitstaff speaking to customers like that. However, I will say that this has never happened before. Every waiter/ waitress we’ve had in the past has been amazingly kind. Especially the waitress with the curly hair- my wife thinks she’s so nice. I wish I could remember the rude waitress’s name, the only thing that I remember was that she was wearing dangly earrings with crystals or stones & a necklace with a large heart crystal/ stone.

Tried out Slip56 on a whim on a Friday evening. The place was bustling and while the food was good and overall the place was aesthetically pleasing there were several times throughout dinner that we thought our table was forgotten about. Also, it can be a bit rowdy, while we were seated inside half of our party was facing the windows and on the patio one guy threw his cigarette butt which went down the back of another seated customer's shirt collar resulting in the offending man getting punched. Today was July 4th, and I understand they are busy today. However, my server's mentality was frustration for having to work more instead of excitement about more business/tips. We had a pregnant woman with low blood sugar and a baby in our party and it took a long time to even get water.

It was crowded when I went which was awesome to see. Great food and super friendly staff. If you go on the weekend it will take a little longer to get your food but it’s worth it. Clean facilities and a great nautical but modern atmosphere.

Went to go here today for lunch….on a sunny summer Saturday , found them closed, again.
That’s 4 times closed on a Saturday . What??????????!
Guess they’re not interested in making money and being open . My guess is they couldn’t make payroll again to be open on a weekend .
Looks like slip 56? Is slipping !
I’m sure it’s soon to be going out of business like the 2 restaurants that recently closed their doors in the past month .
Can’t make money if you’re not open and they’ve been struggling since the pandemic . What a shame . It’s noisy inside, food is ok, service is ok and you wait a while to even get a glass of water . Maybe they need to close. Make way for a new business that's open more than 1 day a week.

Food is great, and the happy hour deals are awesome! Zach is a great bartender, very personable and we enjoy chatting with him when we’re in. We have also been waited on by Brennan and he is good as well. Give it a try, if you haven’t!

The food here is great! The service is horrible. Maybe its just this generation I dont know the manager who i was told is the bartender. Shoukd be managing and not bartending but shes also rude.
Food gets five stars. Service. Zero its hard to rate a place u love but the service staff are horrible
