Great Saturday for a quick beer stop. Been a few years since I had lunch here. last time the brisket platter and maple glazed carrots were amazing. This time around the carrots were flavorless and the brisket tasted like a pot roast with zero flavor. Pretty disappointed. No smoke ring and no bark. My dad had a Cilantro bowl with blackened chicken which he said was good. Brother had a brisket patty melt and he also said it resembled a boring chuck roast. Too bad. Visited the West Bend area for a week and this was our last sit down meal we had before leaving and definitely the best one. What a great place. We were greeted by a beautiful smiling waitress. We were seated fast, service was amazing. And the food was the best we had all week while in the area. We both had the pulled pork platter, fries, Mac and cheese and coleslaw. All were very good. Waitress took a few minutes and talked with us even though she was extremely busy. Super friendly staff. I had the two meat platter with the veggies and potatoes on the side and oh my gosh! This place has the BEST bbq sauce I have ever had in my LIFE! I’m not a bbq person but the sauce was an explosion of happiness and the chicken was so juicy! Felt like it got dipped in a bucket of water in the best way.

Whoever created that sauce SUPERB job!

We went out to eat last night. I was super excited to try this place. When we stopped in everyone seemed so friendly. I let the bartender know right away I cannot have dairy or gluten. I also proceeded to ask if sweet potato fries were gluten free but just made in same fryer. I explained I can eat them as im fine as long as the fries themselves aren't coated. We ordered a BBQ platter to share (me and my partner) ..with veggies side/sweet potato fries and macaroni (as he has no allergies). Once the platter came out I started to eat.. I felt confident given I started the conversation with allowing bartender to know what I couldn't eat. I tired a veggie ..instantly my thoart got sore and face started to puff. I stopped bartender and said excuse me are these made in butter? She goes yes ..why? I was instantly upset ..I told her I couldn't have it and explained I have a epi pen ..than some guy comes over and starts gas lighting me saying.. you should have told us it was an *allegry*.. they would have taken it seriously. I was instantly embarrassed..I said in front of them both to my better half we need to leave now as I need to get Bendaryl as thank goodness I had a small bite or we would have possibly been in the hospital 🏥. I was very polite..and waited to see if I would be met with any care for how serious this was ...she brought the bill (which they charged us full price)..I felt that was super wrong as I've owned a business myself for years. I left feeling not cared about and gas light as they made it my fault. This am even after proper care and leaving right away im puffy and have a bad sore thoart as this isn't something to be taken lightly. I write this as I feel anytime someone says they can't have something even if they dont state *allergy * according to bartender and the man..in my experience eating out everywhere else has accompanied this with still a worry and met my expectations of excluding it out of my meal. Unfortunately we will not he back.

We were looking for some place different to dine at and we stopped at Joe's Saloon and Spoon. The Saturday special was Smoked Prime Rib and the waitress highly recommended it. She was spot on! This was one of the best prime ribs we have ever eaten. We both had the queen size which was 16 ozs and we could not eat all of it! We will definitely eat there more often and would recommend it to any one. The staff were very courteous, well trained and knowledgeable.

We have always wanted to stop in to check out their fish fry. We got seated right away tonight and the service was excellent. We received our orders quickly, but we were not impressed with the baked fish dinner, due to both portion size and seasoning. The clam chowder could have been cooked a little longer. All eight tables in the dining area were occupied, so it was noisy. The air also seemed rather stuffy.

I had the pleasure of being served by Jesse at Sloppy Joe's last night, and I cannot rave enough about the fantastic experience! From the moment I walked in, Jesse greeted me with a warm smile and a welcoming demeanor. His cocktail-making skills are top-notch, and every drink I tried was a masterpiece. He listened carefully to my preferences and recommended drinks that were spot on. Plus, he went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. The atmosphere was lively, yet comfortable, and it made for a perfect night out. I must mention the smoked peanuts—oh my! They were delightfully smoky with just the right amount of crunch, and they paired perfectly with the cocktails. If you're looking for an unforgettable bar experience, make sure to ask for Jesse! I’m still thinking about the smoked 20oz prime rib I had tonight. Seriously, it was one of the best I’ve had in my life. The meat was ridiculously tender, and the smoky flavor was spot on—just the right amount without being overwhelming. It was cooked perfectly to order and had that melt-in-your-mouth texture that’s hard to beat.

I took it to-go and enjoyed it at home, and even after the drive, it was still incredible. The portion was huge, but I’m not complaining. Paired with a cold drink and some good music from home, it made for a perfect night. Highly recommend it if you’re in Hubertus or anywhere and craving a good steak. I’ll definitely be back for more!

Service was good even though the kitchen was behind on orders. I tried the Mother Of All Burgers. I asked for medium, not well done. I also did not taste the bourbon glaze on the burger or the maple glaze on the mini baked potatoes. It still tasted good, but not great. My grandma owned the Lone Star years ago and I finally found a perch dinner that I loved as much as that! Sloppy’s fish is so good! We also love the deep fried cheese curds and huge mushrooms! Walked in and the smell of charcoal lighter was strong. Not surprisingly, the brisket and bacon wrapped jalepenos tasted like lighter fluid and the bacon was nearly raw. Sloppy Joe's is a fantastic smokehouse in hiding. Unless you really look to realize the big silver box outside is actually a smoker, you'd never know you can find some of the best BBQ around here. Their menu is quite substantial; it can actually be difficult to pick one thing. The pulled pork and the brisket are both fantastic, as are their smoked pot pies and the smoked bacon wrapped jalapenos, or Texas Twinkies, as they call 'em. We've only been in twice thus far but, we will be going back often; we received great service both times and experienced a very friendly staff.

EDIT: We've been frequent customers here for a few years now and, for the most part, this place is fantastic. That said, I recently decided to try the burnt ends "the crown jewel" as they claim; I received a chili bowl with some chunks of regular brisket doused in enough barbecue sauce for 2-3 times as much meat. When I gave it back and told them it was not burnt ends, I was informed that they ran out of gas for the torch, which means they don't actually have burnt ends but they'll happily burn some brisket with a torch, pretend it's something it's not, and charge you double; what a scam. Throughout dozens of visits I've had to send something back three times, which isn't really a big deal but, each time the bartender/server came back to tell me that the kitchen staff was aware that what they were sending out wasn't right but they just didn't bother to fix it, or make any effort to make mention of it before serving it to me. My original review was five stars but, in light of these updates, I've reduced my rating to 4 stars. I'd still recommend Sloppy Joes but, I'd also recommend that you say something if your food isn't right because, apparently they are fine sending out sub par plates without at least saying something to the customer.

Stopped in on Thursday nite for a bite to eat with some friends. The place was inviting when we walked in and felt very welcomed. Our server was Ryley, he was excellent. He suggested the ribs, Thursday nite special that included two sides. Lots of choices for the sides. Four of the six of us ordered the ribs. All agreed these were the best ribs we have ever had. Been a few years since we had been here, only because it's not super close. However, we had a wonderful meal, and I think this was one of the better places I have been in a while! The food really exceeded my expectations! The smoked meat was perfect, and the choices on the menu really showed off some creative mindsets in the kitchen.
