We met friends here for lunch on a fall Sunday. First of all, the restaurant has a great atmosphere with warm-toned logs and wood throughout. The bar is huge and central in the main hall. There was a constant buzz of background noise but we could still hear each other to talk.

Our friends had already been seated and ordered cheese curds. The curd weren't piping hot as we began to partake but they were still good.

I ordered a Blake's cider while my husband had beer; he also had a coffee at the end of the meal. The tap list has a lot of variety.
Our server, Dominic, was fantastic. We were never left lacking.

I had the St. Croix chicken salad while my husband had a burger. My friends ordered a chicken pasta dish and pot roast. All of the dishes included a generous amount of food, and we all loved it.

Payment was handled with a hand scanner right at the table, so when we were ready to go, we were able to do so right away.

This was a great lunch and a perfect venue for catching up with folks. I'd be glad to come here again!

We have come several times with the kids for dinner as well as date nights on the patio in the summer. Love the laid back, cabin feel of the space. The food all has been fantastic, whether it's soups and salads, chicken entres, burgers or wraps. We have not had a disappointing meal. We came in after work between 6 and 7pm. We were seated right away, but the bar tender was our wiater. It seemed he had forgotten about us. Once he finally took our orders the both came out wrong. First time at Smilin Moose and I'll be back! I had the Campfire Burger. Done to perfection; probably one of the best burgers I have had, ever. I enjoyed listening to the acoustic guitar of Elly Rowan while we ate. It was our server Sam's second day and he provided great service, checking on us regularly. I left him a 30% tip because he deserved it!

I got chips and queso which was pretty good however the cheese was almost watery which I guess makes sure you don't take too much cheese per chip, but even with that I still had half of my chips left with no dip to eat them with. Over all I wish I would've spent that money on different food.

My buddy got some sort of seasoned fries that were very good maybe a little heavy on the lemon zest but other than that, they were pretty good but the flavor was over powering, about half way through I had to take a brake and rinse my pallet.

We sat on the lower deck over the Independence Day weekend. Emma was our server. Although it was reasonably busy, she was super engaged and made sure we had what we needed. I don’t normally leave reviews, but her personality was so fun. The lower deck is awesome. Emma made it just a bit better. Please forward this to her.

Wonderful atmosphere and great service. The hot honey waffle bites were incredible, but I found my cowboy burger a little lackluster, and it was cooked with no pink despite my request for pink. Have not been back in a while, so maybe we just got it on a bad night but had some of the worst basic burgers that we’ve ever had food was absolutely horrible but the atmosphere is awesome and they’re open screen windows in the summer even if you sit inside and their outdoor patio is one of the best along the riverfront. Disappointing that the food hasn’t been better. Cost per person is with a couple glasses of wine for me and a couple beers for my husband and basic burger/fries.

We stopped in for lunch and were very pleased with the experience. The restaurant was fairly busy but service remained prompt. Our food was made well and delicious. I had the sausage skillet off the breakfast menu. It was a generous portion and ended up taking home some leftovers. Their bloody mary is modestly dressed and spicy, which is my preference. I don't need a meal on top of my bloody but I also at least want a meat stick and a vegetable in there. My wife got the steak benedict and loved it.

The only thing that was off was the bathroom privacy in the women's room. Based on what my wife shared with me it sounds like a door needs to be refitted or adjusted on a stall because, as she said, "you can see everything in there". LOL

Bartenders and servers are more interested in chatting with each other than waiting on customers. I have been there 2 consecutive times where I sat at the mostly empty bar and waited at least 5-10 minutes without even being acknowledged. Both times I had to speak loudly to ask for service, or would no doubt have had to wait longer.

While I always enjoy getting apps and drinks at the Moose, I came in for dinner after a crummy day at work, and it did not disappoint. Our server (Maggie) was an absolute delight. She was funny, attentive, and very down-to-earth. I got the Loaded Mac and Cheese, and it and the bread that came with it were awesome (with enough for lunch the next day!).

Coming to the Moose was one of the best choices I could have made, and I left a lot happier than I was when I arrived. Can’t wait to come back!

Buddies got drinks from the bar, (kitchen was closed), I only wanted water since I don’t drink. Bartender purposely did not get my water. My buddy went back up to the bar a 2nd time, and the bartender would still not get my water.

After sitting at our table for 15-20 minutes we had to ask someone how we could get service. I don't think our table was assigned to the waiter who ended up taking care of us, but he was really nice. The cooks in the kitchen didn't bother to look hard at our order. I asked for no avocado and artichokes on my St. Croix salad, but they were put on it. One of my kids got a plain hamburger but a cheeseburger was brought out, so our 5 year old had to wait for a new burger while the rest of us had our food.
