Small place, but fit me I care about my Mexican food being authentic. I just happened to stop for chips and salsa and the green and orange -picoso-was unbelievable. So good I bought some to take home.
They make it there from scratch so the flavors are very fresh and you can taste everything you’re eating.

We had my daughters rehersal dinner here for 70 people. It was amazing,we had the whole restaurant inside and out ,they set up a huge tent and tables and had the food truck pulled up. Luciano took individual orders at the food truck for the tacos so they were fresh and hot and delicious . We were able to have bags set up in the yard out back so everyone had a great time. If you need a space for an event or are having a wedding at Halverson House like us ,this was a great close spot for the rehearsal dinner. . Ordered Enchilades verde and a margarita with salt on rim , got the drink with 3grains of salt bad tequila the cheapest , enchiladas were swimming in green sauce , 5 inch long diced off a 2 inch piece it contained hardly any meat no flavor all together there was 1 1/2 worth of enchilada meat , beans and rice were small portion , very disappointing

Stopped in on a Sunday evening and I was surprised to find the place empty. Despite the semi-cold greeting and service from the waitress, I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh chips and salsa (on par with Cocina Real) and the good drink special. The hard shell chorizo tacos(American style) were very generous, fresh, and tasty. Minor blip was serving them in a very small basket which made eating slightly difficult. Overall, very happy with the meal and will be back next time and will be bringing my fam.

My wife, who came from California, was craving some authetic Mexican tacos. We ordered the tacos on taco Tuesday and got a great deal! We got el pastor pork, beef, and steak. When she took her first bite of taco, she literally cried. She has tried different taco places out here in Wisconsin, but nothing came close to home than these tacos. Ate here the other day and got 3 tacos each with different meats. On the menu didn't see an upcharge applied to pork and steak. All good but beans and rice not very warm.
People post how they are friendly and place is warm and inviting. Must know the owners cause waitress didn't even smile never came back to see if all was ok. The air conditioning was on when it's freezing outside.

We recently stopped at Sol y Luna for the first time and have absolutely no complaints. As a previous reviewer noted, the salsa is absolutely amazing and is hands down the best salsa we've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. We love Sol y Luna. We have done dine in, take out, and today did catering. Everything we’ve had every visit has been fantastic. Don't recommend!!! Walked in with a party of 6 at 4pm. The only table with enough seats in restaurant (could seat 8) was occupied by ONE PERSON. Waitress suggested we split our family into two booths... What?!? I suggested a table of 4 and then perhaps 2 chairs on the ends from the man eating ALONE. Nope! She pushed a 4 person table together with a booth. Fine. Waited 10-15 minutes as the waitress helped 3 tables in there: alone guy, table of 3 and table of 2. Other times the waitress just stood around, she was NOT busy. She never took our beverage order, never brought chips and salsa, nothing! I watched was she handed alone guy his check and wiped the table WITH HIM STILL AT IT! Yuck, that's not clean, he's still there! We got up and walked out. Will NEVER be back!

My friend and I just happened to be passing by this place when we decided the easily accessible parking lot would be a great place to stop to check her daughters diaper. We had just been on the road for over 2 hours. She said she was hungry so we decided to check out the place.

You know how some of the best food often comes from little places in tiny towns that are largely unknown? This is exactly what this place is all about! Located on a side road next to Highway 164, this restaurant looks small, unassuming, and because we were there in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, it also looked unpopular. More accurately, there wasn't a single vehicle there and when we went inside, we were the only customers (more came in just before we left though). It looked clean, no trash in the parking lot, shiny windows, all the hallmarks of a well kept establishment. Inside turned out to be very clean as well. We were greeted by a kind man who seated us and gave us menus. Then he brought us a basket of chips, a bowl of salsa (which was flavorful but mild enough for anyone, even those who are sensitive to spiciness), and two cups of water. He also offered to get us a high chair for the little one. We thanked him but declined because she hates high chairs and does really well just sitting in the booth. They have booths, tables with pull out chairs, and even an outdoor seating area in the back.

Anyway, I wasn't feeling great, probably because I had eaten too much spicy food over the last couple days, so I just got French fries. They were hot, fresh, and perfect in every way! I also got a bottle of apple flavored soda, which was awesome!The dish my friend got was something I can neither pronounce nor spell, but it was $19.99 (and you definitely get your money's worth in both portions AND quality) and consisted of many ingredients. I don't remember all but I know chicken, various peppers, fried potatoes, shrimp and cilantro were among them. On a separate plate, she also received beans, Mexican rice and tortillas. In my accompanying pics, you'll see the main plate arrived on a hollowed out stand, inside of which was a burner. It's like a candle but much hotter to keep the food hot the entire time. I know it has a name but I forgot what it is because the last time I knew the name was about 27 years ago. Lol! 🤣😂

The man who served us was super friendly and was very kind to the little one, helping to make her experience just as delightful as ours. As toddlers do, she was making quite the mess with salsa. The gentleman got us extra napkins and even wiped part of the table that got messy and collected the little bit of garbage we created up to that point, and he did it without complaint. We didn't order from it, but they also have a kids menu. We just fed her from our own food as there was more than enough of it.

When I told him I was going to take a few pics for a Google review, he asked what that was. I explained it and told him their restaurant has a 4.7 star overall rating at the moment. We checked before going in. I explained that I was going give them 5 stars and told him why- great food, great service. He then smiled, genuinely appreciative, and explained his desire to provide great customer service. It clearly made him feel good to hear that he's doing a great job. I work customer service too so I know how great it feels to hear such things.

This restaurant is over an hour away from home but I fully intend to return sometime so I can try more of their actual Mexican food, not just French fries, delicious though they were.

In summary, if you want quality Mexican/American food at moderate but extremely fair prices (most entrees are $10-13 and large portions), I cannot recommend this place enough! The atmosphere was relaxing, the staff was friendly and inviting, and the overall experience was just awesome! 🙂🙂🙂

My friends recommended this place. They are from Mexico so I figured I would trust their opinion. They were right! From the outside, you may not automatically choose this place, but once inside you'll love the charm and excellence of the authentic food and genuine service. We had a few questions and they answered in great detail with lots of patience. We had the green chicken enchiladas and the steak fajitas. The enchiladas had a little spice and great flavor, delicious quality chicken breast. And the fajitas were nice and juicy filled with flavor, fresh vegetables and quality steak. Our server was the nicest man I've encountered in a long time. I was catching up with a friend and we shed some tears over our conversation. He was so kind and gave some great insight. You can tell this is a family run establishment with great values. It was on honor to be there and we will surely go back!

Our first visit here was very nice. The restaurant was clean and the staff was super friendly. We ordered the fish taco special and the burrito al pastor dinner with an order of guac and a couple of margaritas. Everything was delicious. The food came out hot and quickly. Our server (one of the owners I presume) suggested some hot salsa to go with. Everything was really good especially the guac. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be coming back. The chef (the other owner I also presume) came out and asked how everything was. Both were very nice and made it feel comfortable in there.

When I went in to get the food, I was fully intending on leaving a tip for my pickup order; however, the man who took my cash didn’t give me my change back and I just kinda stood there awkwardly. I was waiting for him to open the cash register back up, but all he said was “thank you, thank you, thank you,” so I just decided to leave it be. I’m the type of person who eats anything because I truly don’t like the idea of wasting food/wasting money, but the chicken tikka masala tasted so bad. I tried to bear through it, but I honestly couldn’t. My girlfriend and I concluded that the food was the equivalent to cat food, the rice tasted like plastic/chemicals, and whatever drink we got that day was completely overpriced. Altogether, I’m sure people have had better experiences but mine was an utter disappointment.

This was our first time having Indian food. Small quaint family business in a remote area. We ordered 3 entrays to sample, breads and a side and had to wait a bit for it. Received a $10 discount for trying it out! I loved it! In the future I will need to order my food mild, for it is spicy!

Went to eat here tonight with a friend who just texted me saying that it was the best Indian food he'd ever had. The food is awesome! I highly recommend trying it out. Don't be put off by location or appearance. It's no frills dining but the quality of the food is totally on point and freaking delicious! 5 stars for the food!

I have had Indian food 1 or 2 times in my life so i cannot compare it to other Indian food. I do have to say that the food is amazing!!! I love the CHILLI CHICKEN,HOT & SOUR SOUP, AND MANGO CHICKEN. all are spectacular and highly recommend. The portions are a perfect size for me. Will be eating again!!

Ordered tandoori grill appetizer, owner brought us some complimentary snacks as we waited. Both the snack and tandoori were the best we've had at any Indian restaurant. Dinner for me was the Karahi Chicken with extra spice and garlic naan. The Karahi was absolutely amazing, and the garlic naan was also the best I've ever had. My significant other had the Chicken Tikka Masala, regular spice, and the owner recommended adding raisins and cashews. She was intrigued, and the recommendation was spot on. Took it to another level! Rice cooked perfectly. We drove 40 minutes each way and will absolutely be back, and keeping an eye out for your food truck as well. Casual, low key environment (more diner than upscale) and beer/liquor/wine available. A true hidden gem for any Indian foodie!

We went to try it because it's new, where we live.
My problem is I am really fussy and don't like a lot of food. I also can't eat any kind of spices because my throat will shut down. I tried the Mango chicken. I told them I couldn't do spices but they added one of their spices they use. It actually wasn't to bad. It wasn't hot spicy so it ended up ok.
Will probably try it again, but very selective.....
I'll try more of the bread and deserts next time !

If I could give a zero star I would. First they didn’t get my order from Door Dash. Then I had to show the owners wife my charge on my debit card because she didn’t believe me that I paid. Then they didn’t have my order right since I talked to husband who I guess doesn’t communicate. They got my order wrong I called and wife still didn’t understand. Greedy place. Will never order again. After I called didn’t even try to make it right. Bad customer service. Lots of flies in the restaurant maybe health department needs to pay a visit too.
