It’s a kid friendly atmosphere, we bring our 6 and 2 y old always. The decor is so cute. They added a baby changing station into women’s bathroom- SO SO thankful for that !!!!

Outstanding service and high quality food. My only critique is of the cook. Please pay attention to your orders! A medium steak (ordered) that comes out rare can be problematic. Crispy hash browns (ordered) that arrive soft and pale are disappointing. But overall very good service. The steak was delicious as I don't mind the bloody red center (it is just not my preference)! If I'm paying for 20 dollar plate of breakfast, I expect the best you have to offer!

Been here once thought i would give a 2nd try, very disappointing got there at 1 really wanted the soup the board said was for today, but our server said oh no more all out so i ordered a chicken sandwich that came with bacon and actually half of an avocado pushed into the bun and of course mayo, i hate mayo, it was pretty tasteless but more irritating was the couple who came in 20 min after us and got delicious looking chicken and rice soup, you know what i asked for . Then according to server he didnt know. Maybe next time find out!

Could have had the cardboard breakfast at our hotel. Pictures really get me going. Saw the mini waffles with cut fruit and it embedded into my brain. We checked out of our hotel and drove here. The closest table outside on the sidewalk was perfect for us. The slight breeze added to the effect. Yes the coffee was great slowly making us realize the weekend was winding down. The light breakfast hit the spot. A great experience of a really great weekend for to old seniors. We will be back to add to our constant memories.

We had fried fish takeout. It was ready when they said it would be and was as we ordered. Baked potato came with sour cream and fish . My son did too but they said that was only for seniors. 🫤

We ordered strawberry pecan chicken salad with raspberry vinegrette dressing over the phone for pick up. They said it would be 15mins. I arrived at the designated time and they happily took my card for payment. I waited 5 more minutes when I heard the owner talking loudly in the kitchen about making salads. Another 5 minutes went by when he personally brought the salads out. These are great salads and are well worth the wait

I've tried Sonny's 3 times now. Every time the service is abysmal. We were Immediately seated. It all fell apart after that. 20 minute wait to order drinks. No drink refills since waiter never came back. Food wait was about an hour for 2 people. Waited another 20 minutes to get our check. The check never came so we went to the counter to close out our bill. I try to support local as much as I can but will not be back. Having bad service 3 times is a pattern not a fluke or were too busy.

Having recently relocated to the area, we were on the hunt for a regular breakfast/brunch stop. We made the rounds of local and nearby spots, including several stops at Sonny's over the past 3 months. Initial experiences were positive with two thumbs-ups for most menu items. While food quality was generally high (Eggs Benedict especially), on a recent visit, we decided to try the Belgian Waffles. What we hoped would be crisp outside and evenly cooked inside, turned out to be crisp outside and completely raw waffle-mix inside.

I completely understand an off day now and then (even though it was not at all crowded on the above recent visit), so we will give Sonny's another try or two before taking our search elsewhere.

The idea of offering a half-portion of Eggs Benedict is a brilliant one as not everyone is in the mood for a full plate. It would be fair though if the half-portion were closer to half the price of full-portion.

I recently moved to the area and decided to support local business. The service was commendable—friendly and attentive. However, I was disappointed with their Friday fish fry. The fish, which was supposed to be walleye, lacked the distinctive flavor I was expecting. Instead, the meat was quite firm and overall bland. Venturing slightly off the beaten path from Madison on our way to the east coast proved to be a rewarding culinary detour with a stop at Sonny's for a late morning breakfast. Despite not being directly en route, the journey through local roads was well justified by the delightful experience that awaited.

The Haystack Skillet, though not served in a traditional skillet, made a grand entrance in what can only be described as a "Jethro-Bodine-Sized-Cereal-Bowl". What a gem in downtown Oregon. I appreciate having a place to go that doesn't feel like a bar and has more of the small town "cafe" vibe for friends and family that are trying to remain alcohol free without the temptation of a full bar. It's obvious that they've done a great deal of work on the inside, creating a family friendly, spacious atmosphere. The staff never fails to surpass all expectations on service, and the food is always exactly as I'd expect it to be. I generally go here with family and we have a group of 6-8 people... Slow service is troublesome- but more disturbing is the lack of any security in an establishment that vehemently denies your right to exercise your second amendment rights! In other words they want you to be a victim- and could not care less. I would almost understand if they provided security - but they don't! DONT TRUST THE ONLINE MENU! We put in an order for pickup and expected to pay the $7 for our pancakes and $7 for our crepes as posted online. Went to pickup and it was $34!!! I had country fried chicken with 2 eggs sunny side up and a side each of hash browns and half order of biscuits with that sumthin'sumthin' sausage gravy. Yum.

Lisa had a ham omelette, well done with hash browns and wheat toast.

Bree had chicken and waffles with maple syrup, and Brynne-ie Boo had the strawberry waffles (of course) with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.

If you're a breakfast buff...or you just simply breathe out of your nose and/or mouth holes...you should make the trip. DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY worth it.

Sonny's was hopping when we got there about 10am. They seemed a little short staffed but the hostess helped with drink orders and the waitress let us know when she'd be by to take our order. Nothing fancy, but good, solid food. Some of the wait staff are characters. Their PIE is from the Main Street Kitchen in Bloomer WI...3 hours north. They meet those folks half way, where the Main St Kitchen folks hand off the pies which are then driven the rest of the way to Oregon.

What a cute little place! I have never been to Oregon (I was deployed to a nearby clinic for vaccination) and walked downtown on my lunch break, heading for a Kwik trip. Instead I found Sonny's Kitchen! The decor is adorable and very rustic, the exposed brick is very stylish, the lighting fixtures add to the cosy vibe, and the staff was very quick and polite. The menu has a little bit of everything, including classic sandwiches and breakfast items. This place is very obviously loved by locals!
