I was in town visiting a friend and we stopped here during our walk along the lake. It was FABULOUS! The beer was ice cold and the fries were some of the best I've had. I loved the lobster roll! Staff were super friendly and helpful with menu questions. Lots of tables too! Wonderful views!

Great place near the lake to get some beer and some food. Their food options change, and while in 2024 I loved the food, this summer, I haven't been as impressed. The biggest disappointment is the beer selection. For a local beer garden, they are heavy on the Terrapin Brewing, which is from Georgia. I just wish they could support more local options. We have plenty!

We placed a dine-in order for food and drinks at 7:50pm. When we checked in at 8:35pm, we were notified there was an hour wait. Had we known that at the time of the order, we would have had our drinks and moved on. At 8:50pm a rude buser proceeded to remove condiments from the table minutes before our food arrived. When we said we hadn't received our food yet, if she could leave them for a sec, she said some condiments would be included and a flat "I need to take these" and walked off. The order arrived packed in a to-go container at 8:50pm and we brought it home to discover... no condiments. Food was delicious, albeit cold, but upfront waitimes and a modicum of customer service to the guests who had placed an order, and tipped, far in advance of close is expected.

Our meal, taken leisurely, began with the “Farmers Salad”—a medley of greens, fruit, vegetables, and cheese presented with a sense of restraint and freshness that speaks to thoughtful sourcing. Each element felt deliberate: the produce crisp, the fruit balanced, and the cheese nuanced in flavor.

The lobster roll was, quite frankly, a standout. A generous portion of tender lobster meat tucked into a buttery split-top roll, unpretentious in its plating but indulgent in every bite. This lady who works here wearing all grey with a hoodie up and sunglasses approached us in a rude manner. We ordered drinks at the bar but it’s overpriced and of course in our bag we brought extra drinks with us… mind you there is not a single sign saying you can’t do that. Very unique spot, it's a shame the serving hours aren't a little later than 8pm, good orders were backed up 45 minutes when we got there but got the burger and fries and a few beers and the noj alcoholic root beer which was really good.

This is a nice beer garden done by the Milwaukee county Park system. It's close to the South shore yacht club. The food is good The beers are cold and there's quite a few to choose from.
When you order food they'll bring it out to your picnic table. Next to it there is a nice swing set for kids.
There's also a very nice asphalt path that stretches for a long ways that goes past this restaurant

Friday 9/13, 6:30 PM, the staff *visibly mocked* my husband after he asked where our food was. We've been there TONS of times — we know they get busy, we've both worked in food service — but our order was obviously missed. While he was visibly frustrated (our pals who ordered with us had their food for 20 minutes and we both had 3 yr old with us: We ordered at 5:45), they did not (1) apologize and "take a look" or (2) outright say "oh man, we missed it so sorry, it'll be out right away" (which we get). They blindly said it will be 10 more minutes (it was fries, wings, and a pretzel — they were refiring). 4-5 people then spent the next 10 minutes mocking him, hands waving, staring at our table, and making whining gestures. *It was super rude.* Things happen but come on guys — man up, apologize, and move on. We live here and tell people to go there often. Yikes.

Couldn’t figure out how to order online so I collected a large group order over probably 30 minutes of deliberating, then called to place my order on the phone. No one answered the phone, but the voicemail said they were open until 9 on Sundays and holidays (today is Sunday). We are staying close by, so we decided to just send someone to order in person and wait to bring back our order. They went all the way there, parked, etc. only to find out they are closed. No way to know without going all the way there, and every indication we had (google, their website, their voicemail) pointed to them being open. All of this on top of pretty high prices. I have been to the South Shore Terrace many times to visit the beer garden and hang out by the lake. Always a good time, and the drink selection is always changing and varied. I have also had the privilege of making photographs at South Shore Terrace with some of my wedding couples, and the place is beautiful. Inside and out, the venue is unique and has no shortage of super photogenic areas to explore. I always look forward to the next time I'll be at South Shore Terrace, either as a Milwaukeean looking to grab an outdoor drink by the lake or as a photographer working with one of the great couples and all the great vendors of this city.

Only in Milwaukee Wisconsin (I think) does the county provide multiple beer gardens as part of its park system! Well, we tried one of them, South Shore Terrace Beer Garden and loved it ! Great selection of beers and food and park setting over looking Lake Michigan. What else could you want ? It was very nice and the food was delicious. You can sit inside, on the patio(but you can't see lake Michigan from there) and can sit out on the grassy area right next to the water. They have a good selection of beer and drinks as well as. They have a menu it's not very big but enough to enjoy a lunch or dinner. The fish fry on Fridays is very good and a good portion too. The bathrooms are clean and there is wheelchair access.

They had the fence where you walked in to get drinks. Folded it up and bikes were parked in it so we all walked around and then the lady yelled at us saying we have to go in line on the other side I stated we couldn't because of the bikes and fence blocking the entrance. Came here for the July 3rd fireworks. Plenty of seating even with the event. Ordered a bacon and Bleu cheeseburger, an appetizer, couple of beers and it came to about $50 with tip. Food was good and the beer was delicious and a bonus to keep the glasses.

Other than the "extra curriculum" smoking going on, which doesn't bother me but we had younger kids with us in the group that weren't fans. All in all we had a good time and will be back again.

So, 4 stars because the food is bar food. Nothing special. They don't even give you a very large portion, but damn is it expensive. HOWEVER, if you saw how many people are down at the park, you kinda understand why they jack up the prices. If the prices were more reasonable, they would be overwhelmed.
