This bar is one of our go-to places, especially for their amazing pizza—we always order takeout and it's always hot, fresh, and ready on time. Even when they're short-staffed, the bartender handles everything like a pro and still manages to make the experience feel personal and welcoming. I've had a burger or two come out a little more medium than I prefer (I like mine well-done), but everything else has been consistently solid. I was looking forward to my elk burger for a couple weeks and finally had it today. The burger was overcooked to the point that is was well done and dry. The only thing that saved it was the pickles. I took 1/2 of the burger home hoping I can put some sauce on it to revive the rest of the burger.

First, the food is good. No denying that. My issue is with the service. I never leave a negative review after one experience, but we’ve now had two where the service was lacking. First, the last time we were there, after my burger was served my fries were still being made. They were brought out close to 10 minutes after I finished my burger and I got attitude when I complained.

Tonight, we walked in and sat at the bar and, while two staff members walked behind the bar and on the floor and collected money or delivered food or checks, we weren’t even acknowledged. This, despite one staff member walking right in front of us three times. No welcome. No ‘we’ll be with you shortly’. Not even a glance. It was rather rude. I wasn’t going to deal with it again, so we left.

It’s sad because the food is very good, but it seems that service is an afterthought, if that.

Was on hold now for over 20 minutes! Finally hung up as I could hear the bar tender waiting on everyone in the bar while she forgot about me on hold! Will not give them my money ever again! Instead ordered from the Stoneyard... Stoneyard never disappoints!

UPDATE: Gave them another shot last night.
Ordered a double order of fish, single order of fish and a crispy chicken sandwich. Ordered at 5:00, they it would be done at six (if we ordered a pizza it be faster they told us). Arrived to pick up the order at 5:50. They said it would be like 5-10 minutes, so I paid for the food. 15 minutes later was informed that they were out of fish and wanted to know what we wanted instead! Needless to say we cancelled the entire order and had them refund all the money. It is completely ridiculous to wait over an hour for food to find out they don’t have any fish! Lost 4 customers forever after this!

Their response was apologizing, stated they had a meeting between management and the owners and would like us to give them a 2nd chance by offering a free pizza... They really should have offered what we ordered last night for free for the following Friday. Pizza's at cost for a large is between $5.88 and $7.35, where our order came up to $71 and change.

Was in the area and stopped here for a fish fry. We were not disappointed. Both my kid and I ordered the fried haddock. It was delicious. The breading was seasoned and not too thick. Big meaty chunks of firm flakey fish . Along with the standard coleslaw, bread and fries, ( I think there were other options for potato as well). The tartar sauce was good as well. Accompanied by a cold beer it made for a very tasty dinner. I don't make it around this area much but if I'm around again on a Friday I'll definitely stop in again.

The bar itself is nice. Tall ceiling. TVs with sports on. Drink specials. Mostly tall top tables so we sat in the billiards room . They do have an upstairs with extra seating but nobody was working that area tonight. It looks like they have some outdoor seating for when the weather is better as well.

My kid was also excited to see you could buy coozies in the vending machine. lol so of course we bought one before we left.

We had the VERY best perch sandwich, we ever had. Certainly not scimpy on their meat…fries were perfect, not over cooked! Decent pint tap beer pricing. Our Bartender, Lexii, was tending bar, serving AND stocking the bar, on a Friday afternoon & was an excellent (Very Busy) bartender…she should be cloned!! (At least given a raise)😉. It was like a sad episode of bar rescue. The concept was there but the food was terrible. My wife ordered the fish fry and it was mush. It looked amazing and came to the table very fast but when she cut into it the fish was very wet and mushy not flaky as would de expected. I ordered the shrimp basket and again it looked amazing and the outside looked cooked but the inside was not cooked all the way. The drinks were good and service was great.

Went here on my hour long break since it’s right across the street from my work, and got there when they opened at 11 and ordered my food right away. There we’re probably 10 other people that walked in shortly after I did and I was the second one to put it an order after the first couple. Food took forever to get out. I ended up having to leave to go back to work before I even got my food. Took 45+ minutes when they weren’t even that busy. 0/10 experience wouldn’t recommend this place.

Busy! One bartender and one cook? Was there for at least 30 minutes before going to the bar to ask if we could place our order. She put menus down and said to come back when we're ready. We placed our order about 5 minutes after that and about 55 minutes later, about 9:30pm, we FINALLY got to eat. It was good food. Nothing that really "WOWd" my taste buds. Just good.
Learning your business and staffing appropriately is tough but it's always easier to send employees home then it is to get them to come to work on a day they're not scheduled.

Three strikes... We're done. (Actually it's more like 10 strikes) Most people decide to go out for a couple of drinks and something to eat with a reasonable expectation to be served. Although the pizza is good, the attitudes of the staff leave a lot to be desired. There's an unmistakable demeanor of inconvenience portrayed. Do yourself (and yours) a favor and go 1 block down the street to a place called Sidelines Pub. Great food, cold drinks that never hits the bottom of your glass and the staff know how to show their appreciation for your patronage.
