This was one of the better golf courses I played this year. Golf course was in spectacular shape. Green were rolling true and the staff was very nice and friendly. BUT!. If your a walker, forget about it. Alot of elevated tees and green will really have you begging for air. With all the great views of the area are fine. But not at over 100 dollars.

We decided to get married at St. Croix National after having lunch and golfing there last fall. The ballroom and views alone left no question in our mind we wanted to get married here. From start to finish Lauren, Katie, Christine, Anthony, Robert, and Brandon could not have been better at helping us every step of the way. I planned our entire wedding in 8 months and never once felt uneasy. We got married on the 19th green with about 90 guests. From getting ready in their beautiful bridal suites, to providing water and fruit/pastry platters in the morning, letting us know what hole the boys were on the course, helping set up the reception and ceremony areas, and so much more. Katie, Lauren, and Natalie were present to make sure everything ran smoothly during the ceremony as well. During the reception we got endless compliments on the food which SCN did for us. Anthony, Nicole, Chloe, Carson, and Jackson (and I’m sure there were more in the kitchen) were attentive and efficient all night long. The staff truly made our day perfect. I didn’t even mention the 23 person rehearsal they also did for us the night before on their patio! We can’t thank everyone enough for helping us celebrate our marriage and letting us focus on having fun with our families. I can’t wait to visit year round and remember the best day of our lives.

St. Croix National is truly a beautiful gem hidden right in our backyard! We recently visited and were blown away - not just by the stunning course and scenic views, but by the fantastic meal we had at The Grounds restaurant.

The food was absolutely fantastic - highly recommend the smash burgers and the club sandwich, both of which were delicious and made with attention to quality and flavor. The atmosphere is relaxed but refined, with beautiful views of the course and service was excellent.

Our experience felt like a mini getaway. We’re already planning our next visit to try their pizza and check out the mini golf.

My husband and I just recently got married at St.Croix National and we had a great experience. Lauren and Katie were very helpful and easy to contact throughout the whole planning process. From the start Lauren made it a point to make me feel reassured in my decisions. You can tell she really cared to get our special day right. The Venue offers two great ceremony sites and getting ready rooms for both the wedding parties. The reception hall is gorgeous inside and out. The showstopper is obviously the stunning views and the great golf course! We also hosted our rehearsal dinner at the grounds and got many great compliments from our guests. All of the SCN staff members were outstanding! Highly recommended hosting an event here!

We got to the course and were told when we got the golf cart that we were already behind and to hurry up even though we were 10 minutes ahead of t time, then we get on the course and are being pushed by the people behind us while they were hitting at us, we eventually got pushed so far up to the people ahead of us that we got yelled at by someone hired as a plumber on ground for playing on top of the people ahead of us (after we were told we were behind and to hurry up) by an actual employee. The manager was not on the grounds so when we tried to explain ourselves of trying to hurry up no one was around and the plumber told us to leave, Not very impressed by their performance for customers and also how I couldn’t talk to the plumber without him talking over me. Not professional at all. Not to mention we aren’t from this state and this is a first experience! Definitely won’t be back.

We worked closely with SCN to design what was our dream wedding celebration that consisted of a 9-hole golf scramble that bled into a 'Happily-Ever After Happy Hour'. We are forever thankful for Sam and Lauren helping our vision come to life to have our event there! They were great to work with, flexible and responsive as we worked through executing on our vision - and provided the best day-of service and staff! We used Saint Croix's outdoor patio area (the most perfect backdrop), which included the 19th-hole and 18 hole putt putt course; both made for awesome interactive moments for our guests to walk around and engage with. The chef and his buffet menu we worked to come up with was genius and incredible summer eats. The batched "Green's Keeper" is still raved by our guests! Very special place whether it be the next golf round or special event.

Golf course AND conditions were top notch!!!! I’ve been very lucky & fortunate to play some of the best courses in the country over my playing years and for those of you who’ve done the same, you know it’s not just the architect, it’s not just the name, its definitely not just because “the pros play here”- it’s usually a combination of all the above with a huge part being the conditions of the grounds, the tee boxes, greens, fairways, etc.

We’ll allow me to tell you, SCN has it all (minus the pga not having a stop here!)!!!!! I was blown away with everything, nearly impeccable. We were having a blast playing as a twosome. The only issue is at the 6th hole we ran into a 4some that also had 2 kids playing, making it a 6 some. They weren’t even considering allowing us to play thru. Then, at hole 9, it turned into a cluster of 4+ groups all backed up. After taking 40+ minutes per hole for the next few, I took a leap of faith & called the shop. In their defense, they had been messaging the groups to speed up or allow others to play thru, but you know how that goes….

Next thing I knew, the owner of the club came out (Kristine?) and had a chat with us, as well as told others they needed to step on it. She was as great as the course and I truly mean that. The only downside is we chose not to play 16-18 because our “experience” was kinda hampered by the groups in front of us, but Kristine made sure by talking to the shop that the front was wide open, so she granted us to play the front, & we blasted thru it in a short while.

The cherry on top… they also have a world class clubhouse/restauraunt and Kristine got us a pizza on the house because of what we endured. Not necessary, but world class for sure.

Kristine & staff of SCN, you guys are truly amazing & next time I fly in from NC to visit my brother, my sticks will be in hand & multiple rounds at SCN will be booked!!! A patron for life!!

Lastly, anyone reading this who says “I don’t golf tho”, I’m telling ya, just go have lunch or dinner there, you’ll feel you’re at a 5 star resort, with 5 star views, and the prices are great!!! My brother & his family will be making this a weekly stop from now on just for food!

I came out from Michigan to visit a best friend in Mpls and after a little research, we decided on coming out to St Croix...I've played a crazy amount of golf in my life(Pinehurst, Copperhead, Quintero, most up north MI) and this was easily right up there as one of the most memorable golf experiences ever. The staff was all awesome, especially Caitlin and Claire! Caitlin went above and beyond to get us started and I truly appreciate the logo ball!!
The course was so beautiful and a lot of fun. Coming around every bend was just another scenic view! Drove up to a bear cub hanging on the 11th tee! Beyond cool!!
Finished it off perfect with a delicious dinner on the patio with a great view and great service from Claire!

We have loved going to the Ground to eat dinner/lunch and listen to music. It’s one of our favorite locations for food. Besides the food we had the privilege of having our wedding celebration/party at their event center. Best golf course I have ever visited. This course has beautiful scenery. The owner is the college person I ever met. She even gave me chapstick. As a visitor from Nebraska. Did I mention? Went golfing last Saturday with the wife and had an absolute blast. The clubhouse is astounding with an incredible restaurant and vast menu as well as a great beer and cocktail selection. We came up on Mother’s Day afternoon. Told it would be a bit of a wait for food as they just got slammed and down a chef, which if you’ve ever worked in the hospitality business, you get it!!
It’s such a beautiful place (and day) so we didn’t care, got a cocktail with our family, enjoyed our wait together because what’s the rush?! We ordered some apps & a couple pizzas. It came out quicker than we anticipated and was amazing!!

I have always loved playing at the golf course. For Mother’s Day we made reservations for The Grounds restaurant and it was amazing! My family and I spent our entire afternoon there. Our server, Bre was so nice and provided excellent service. She and all the servers and staff were beyond busy so to still receive excellent service was amazing! The food was delicious from the chips, fresh guac and pico, burgers, pizza all the way to their kids pb&j 😉 my family and I had the best time eating, hanging out, listening to music and playing on the putt course. I just played recently this Sunday and the course was awesome but for the rates you pay on the weekend I think it’s over priced. The staff barely spoke a word to me and my playing partner when we arrived. We were offered range balls and charged 6$ for maybe 15 balls. I will say the course is fun and challenging and great views. Then when we went to you snack shack the young women working Sunday decided to give herself a tip on my order. I was really excited to play at the course and that part was great but the value and service was a let down

Went here today for the first time. I was "WOWED" the moment I pulled in. The mini golf course looks super sweet! As it is Winter still the regular course wasn't open. So we played the simulator. Never knew i could hook a pitching wedge until today! But it was ALOT of fun! The inside is incredible, full bar, and club house with golf equipment and clothing. (Most was discounted)

We hosted our company outing here the night before our annual meeting, and it was a huge success!

We reserved the golf simulators, dart boards, and pool table for our employees to enjoy, and everyone had a fantastic time. The food was excellent, and the mini donuts for dessert were amazing! The setup was perfect for dining and having fun.

The restaurant and patio are a hidden gem, couple that with the golf simulators and the mini golf course and it provides so many options for either an adult night, or family night with something for every one. Kids played mini golf and billiards was free.
They even had a nice conference room for hosting a work meeting for 6-10 people.
Food was phenomenal, drinks were unique and very reasonably priced.
Considering the location is less than 10 minutes from the St.Croix river crossing in Stillwater it's well worth the drive!

The new clubhouse is absolutely amazing and is a "must visit". It has an upscale feel but is very relaxed. There is a great food and drink menu, a full bar, and a really nice pro shop. It is hard to put in a review the number of entertainment options that are available outside of the actual golf course, but four indoor HD simulators, pool tables, darts, multiple television, etc. make this a phenomenal destination for both golfers and non-golfers alike. The outdoor seating areas have views that are unmatched in the area, and the outdoor putting course is really fun.

We played the 18-hole course for the first time yesterday. It is unlike any course we have played across the region. There are SIGNIFICANT elevation changes - especially on the front nine. It was challenging as a first-time player due to a number of blind shots and very few flat lies, but it was very fun. The back nine plays a bit more traditionally, but it is still very scenic. Carts are mandatory, and rightfully so.

Very scenic forest layout for the front 9. Back nine is more open with fewer blind shots. Playability at the cup is unfavorable as surface around the cup is pulled up during cup cutting process, seems they may not use plate to prevent this condition, unfortunate.

Fantastic golf course. Could be considered a little on the pricey side, but when you get there you will understand. Stunning views, challenge for all levels of golfer. Would not suggest this be played by a beginner. Carts are all set up with GPS and touch screen monitors to help navigation. Would definitely recommend.

Only downfall is the driving range. Should be considered a warm up tee. Don't use the range if you are trying to fine tune your game...

The last time I played the St Croix National course was 2 years ago---a fun challenging course, but the conditions was "tired". I played the course on July 26th and the new improvements are great!----a new pro shop, a really helpful staff (I needed a LH rental set and I got a nice, matched Callaway set!), the course conditions was great, a very reasonable seniors rate, and the food and views on The Grounds restaurant/bar was nice, too. My group of Senior Golfers played St Croix Nat’l today.

I have not played here for 2 or 3 years, and I was really impressed with how many improvements have been made since I last played here!
New tee boxes, very well groomed fairways and greens were a surprise!

GPS on the golf cart helped avoid the danger of hitting into others ahead of us.

The sand traps were well groomed, but still contain some large rocks that could damage your club.

We completed 18 holes in 4 hours which was also nice.

The course is extremely beautiful too.

The Senior rate was very good and made this a fun and affordable day.

It has been a year + since I went to SCN, currently looks 20 times better, inside is beautiful, inside lots of space, well staffed and you get a feeling they care about the customer's experience (kinda rare these days) I would recommend if you have a wedding party, birthday party, bar mitzvah, engagement party, or just want to golf and relax to food afterwards.... maybe some darts or pool, or mini golf, come here! We had my daughters wedding and rehearsal dinner at this venue. Their team was amazing to work with and I was so pleased with how everything went so smoothly and the attention to every detail that made our day so successful. Just loved the new club house with a wood fired pizza oven. Could hang out there even if we didn't golf. The golf course was in excellent condition and the staff is super friendly. Would love to come back!

Awesome course! Went here while on an annual golf trip with 16 guys. Everyone loved it. There are several picture worthy holes and very fun golfing on a course like this. I would definitely like to go back and I'm sure many of our group would say the same thing.

First impressions were this place has a lot to offer a golfer. Beautiful facilities with more upgrades currently under way. This place has lots of wooded fairways, lots of elevation changes and lots of picturesque views.

The first tee tells you a lot about a course and this is no different. The view is impeccable. About 350 yards from the green at the blue tees and about 200 feet down. Don't use a yellow ball on the first tee as the driving range is close enough to get a few errant balls on the right side. This course is challenging but for the avid golfer who plays blues or whites you should have an enjoyable round.

The greens were fast and in great condition. The fairways are very nice and the tee boxes are pretty good too. The carts are gas, have decent speed, nice comfortable seats, ball/club washers, and a great GPS/stereo with Bluetooth.

The restaurant has pretty good food, we had the breakfast croissant. The staff are friendly. The pro shop is small but a decent selection of items.

The driving range is pretty cool but you might have an issue if you want to see your flops and pitches hit the ground as you are up on a hill. The practice greens are beautiful and offer some fund undulating. I'd like to see a bunker/pitch practice area included but I can't complain too much. They also have a 19th hole but wasn't up and running due to construction on the clubhouse patio.

If you have a few bucks and an itch, check out St. Croix National and bring a good camera.

Holes with elevation changes you just won’t see anywhere else and conditions have really improved with very welcoming new staff. Keep an eye out for their fun events they host throughout the year. Oh, and don’t forget to take a shot at their 19th hole!

Most of the low reviews seem to just be players that are mad cuz bad. I'm terrible at golf, but I still love this course. Staff has always been super nice and the course conditions are fine. No clue what some people are talking about. Food is really good too!

Very disappointing
I used to golf St. Croix National a bunch when I lived closer. Haven't played there for about 10 years but it was definitely not what I remembered. I will not be going back. Not in very good shape, tee boxes were super rough, greens were just aerated and there was a ton of sand left on the greens. You knew you were on if you saw the sand fly. Would have been nice to have a heads up if I'm driving an hour to play your course. Pace of play was super slow. Tee time for 420 didn't tee off until 435 and we had to wait on every box.

My son and played there today (8-14) and had a tremendous time! Course was in very good shape. The holes were incredibly challenging. The staff was very courteous and very helpful telling us where to go as we’d never played there before! It’s a course I’d highly recommend. We will be going back!!

Wow, if you want a Five Star Experience, without the Five Star expense St. Croix National is a must. Ony 35-40 from Twin Cities, Golf Now has deals you can play for $42 with cart.😳 I played temp is 99 degrees so the course was empty. Unbelievable. Put it on your must play before the season ends. Great job, St. Croix staff.

Not sure where to start... a beautiful course, wonderful staff, the best scratch bloody mary mix/drink I have had in awhile. Ok, the bloody-delicious-not too salty, not too spicy; just right AND the goodies are speared with a tee! Cute!
The staff... so friendly and helpful. Namely, Myke. He was the starter that Sunday and immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable. He insisted on taking a group photo at scenic hole #1 and never rushed us on our way. Proceeded to chat about the cool attire in the clubhouse, updated us on improvements and enhancements happening at the course, and genuinely, GENUINELY made sure we were off to a great start. He checked in on us and assisted us with our shots off the tee. At one point, he realized one in our group was not golfing (due to a hip injury flare -up) and offered us a gift card for the green fees. I'm telling you. I golfed there over a week and a half ago and his service still compels me to write this review. A+.
The course is stunning. Tons of trees, beautiful scenery- you name it.
This is not a scratch golfer's review as you can probably tell, but the experience will no doubt be as exceptional for hobbyists and serious enthusiasts alike. Changing my grade to AA+.

Incredibly scenic, and well kept golf course. My friends and I went for a 30th birthday party scramble , and they accommodated perfectly. The service was prompt, drinks were cold, even the ranger took a group picture and swung a club with us on hole 5. Great time, and will be playing it much more in the future.

Extremely scenic, fun, and challenging course! Many holes with large elevation changes and lots of variety. The course was in excellent shape. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. The ranger, Mike, gave us many great tips as first-time players there. We will definitely be back!

Overall, we had a nice golf experience. The playing surfaces are well maintained. Nice fairways, nice greens both bent grass. Those are the most important factor when I review a new golf course. Greens rolled true. The tee boxes were a little rough but likely a product of how much play the course gets. GPS in the cart is very nice and absolutely necessary for the course which has many blind shots. Gorgeous views in the St. Croix valley was a real bonus.

The only improvement would be a starter to make sure the players don't get stacked up in the first three holes.

Thus a beautiful and challenging course. The course requires knowing your game well enough to know where your shots are landing. Nestled in a woods of Oak and other trees giving you tight shots, with occasionally hidden hazards. You aren't allowed to walk the course due to the length of the course and the elevation changes. If you've played a while have a consistent shot and are looking for a challenge, you'll enjoy this course.
