Since changing ownership in late 2018 and becoming "Stella's", we rapidly transitioned to a more modern American selection on our main menu, influenced by our desire to work with local ingredients and purveyors. We also have a special menu for our more creative ventures into cuisine, which allows our chefs to explore not only our great American cuisine but unique and inspirational fusion foods and other worldly dishes.

Very overpriced. The cheese curds were excellent, my wife liked the lobster Mac but the Cajun pasta was way too salty. The creme brulee and lave cake were good. Excellent waitress, $125 with three beers and a soda was a bit much.

We ordered the Truffle Fries, which came in a huge bowl. They could have been Ste”k n Snake fries, barely warm and soft with only a tablespoon of parmigiana ( if that) and a tiny pinch of dried chives, except they were $15 and not removed from the bill when I told our waitress they were not good.
The Lobster Mac was super tasty and they didn’t scrimp on the lobster, but I could have done with about a cup less sauce (A lovely affair) and half the salt. The Lava Cake was delicious. The Merlot very nice.

The food was really not good:

The berry salad and beet salad had high quality ingredients. But they just didn’t taste good.

The main issue is that the fettuccine Alfredo was AWFUL. For $25 I expect homemade Alfredo sauce with real garlic, cream, and butter. Instead, it was this awful tasting stuff that tasted like garlic salt.

Tried them this evening. Wagyu was overcooked and under seasoned, potatoes weren’t crispy enough, broccolini undercooked. Sauce was tasty though. I would have returned but staff didn’t follow timely for first bite check but was otherwise good service. My lady had the alfredo, chicken also overcooked. Drinks were good. Had the old fashioned with a cinnamon stick on fire. Would have burned my lips taking a sip based on the kindling sticking out. Luckily her nails could fish it out. Weird. Delicious but the ash from the burnt stick was a bit off pudding. Tasted zero cinnamon so maybe just smoke the top of the glass and cover would make more sense. Overall average experience and food.

Food was okay, my wife had a salad with a hunk of chicken and a combo of fresh (or canned??) beets and dried out beets akin to chow mein noodles. She wasn't happy with it but refused to complain. I had some quesadilla that was ginormous and the flavour was super too. That was a win. Our server was attentive and nice, kudos to her and thank you! They gave us some small plates when we sat down and one had a chunk of something on it. Also, there wasn't any bread or pre-meal food, so confused about why there were plates. There were a couple indicators on the menu and elsewhere that a mandatory 3% is added to the bill for "inflation" charges. This is the first place I've seen this in the dozen or so dining experiences this past year. I honestly wish you'd just mark up your food and blend it in...i understand inflation hits everyone but that doesn't seem like a good way of sharing that. Sounds like someone pointed out a 3% surcharge three years before my review...humn? Our receipt for the bill gave us recommended tip levels and dollar amounts beginning at 20% and that put some unnecessary pressure on me to do table-side math to figure out what my percentage would be minus the 3% from earlier. May or maynot be back, who knows; this was a knee-jerk dining decision.

People were friendly, and the atmosphere was good. Food was so so, all noodles not much else in it. When our two different pasta dishes arrived, we asked for some parmesan cheese. Our server brought us a half full shot glass size container of powdered cheese, I would say less than a tablespoon. We also had to ask for salt and pepper to be brought to our table.

Susie, our bartender, was phenomenal! Her exceptional service and hilarious personality had us laughing all night. We brought two friends for their first visit, and they raved about the food. The bar service was top-notch, and sharing four appetizers and two main plates was a delight. Can’t wait to return!

The atmosphere is confusing, like trying to mix fine dining and a bar in the same space. The music didn't fit with the decor.

The menu reflects this as well. There are simple flat breads but also creme brulee and prime rib.

The calamari was AMAZING, perfectly seasoned and not overcooked.

Prime rib was excellent, good cut, great flavor, as well as the tallow roasted potatoes.

The pasta... I had the Cajun Andouille, and it was far too spicy. They added chili flake on top of an already spicy sausage, and I had to order something else. Also, sorry, but I have to nit pick, I ordered it because I LOVE bucatini pasta, but I was served linguine. The alfredo replacement was ok. Chicken was perfect, but the sauce was overly salty and broken.

Dessert... do not get the cheesecake here. It's obviously pre made and frozen. The texture was grainy and hard with an artificial cherry flavor. The creme brulee was enough for 2 people and tasted not homemade and eggy.

Our server was fabulous and very attentive.

Overall not the worst dining experience, but a lot of room for improvement.

Lovely place and terrific service. I had a beet salad without any meat, and it was a lot of work to eat. The feta cheese was spread onto the bottom of the dish instead of sprinkled on top so I had to scrape it off the plate while it was under the arugula. The beets were not sweet and sour and the salad had only oil for dressing so quite flavorless. My friends liked their flatbread so I think I just ordered the wrong item.

I've always loved Stella's and their food. I went there tonight with a friend, the appetizer and drinks were delicious and the service was impeccable. However, I ordered the pasta Alfredo for my entree, it looked delicious but was VERY over seasoned, it was a bit garlicky, which I don't mind, but the salt content was over the top. I did ask them to make me a new one, and it was not much better. Overall everything was great, but the entree was horrible. I don't know if they got a new Chef or what's going on, but I don't foresee myself going back in the future.

It was really just meh. Cheescurds are good. My hubby had the wagyu burger. Cooked medium. It was very rare still. I had the lemon truffle shrimp scampi. It was at first very salty. I informed the waitress who had it remade. Second time around it was good. I wouldn’t say anything amazing about it. The waitress was really nice and caring. Menu seemed alright but I think maybe just a revamp? Still have to try the dessert I got to go.

Waited 22 minutes for our steak, which was ok, except my soup was delivered with my steak instead of before. Steak and potatoes were warm, not hot, but had good flavor. We waited one hour for our food and asked our server about the delay. We were told it's only been 39 minutes, and it should be out shortly. It was a pasta dish, a flatbread, and Ceasars Salad. A few minutes later, we did receive our food. The flatbread was good. The salad and pasta were mediocre . The server did offer a round of beverages off our bill, but we declined.

This past Valentine’s Day, my husband made reservations for us at Stella’s. They called us 1 hour before our reservation time to tell us they overbooked and needed to cancel or move our reservation several hours. We chose to cancel. We decided tonight to give them another try…

I’ll start with the positive and say Kaitlyn was a very friendly server. Extremely polite and smiley.

We had a 7pm reservation. We arrived a little after 6 and sat at the bar for a couple drinks. At 6:40, we inquired about our table (there were several empty tables). Didn’t get seated until 7:10.

Kaitlyn brought us menus and informed us all of the specials were sold out except 1. We ordered an app right away, which did not arrive until 7:45. Bruschetta. It was good, but a 35 minute wait for an app is a bit much (there were no check-ins to apologize for the wait or anything like that).

Finally got our food (I had a salad and my husband had a pasta) at 8:06pm. My salad consisted of browning iceberg lettuce (supposedly romaine), cherry tomatoes, a couple slices of cucumber and 4 shrimp. The shrimp were good. I was charged $23 for this otherwise pathetic salad that took nearly an hour to receive. The lobster Mac my husband had tasted very good.

We overheard the waitress telling the table next to us that they were out of the lobster mac as well now. There was also a 3% service charge tacked onto our bill that the waitress explained was to cover the cost of having the ingredients delivered to the restaurant. Isn’t that what the markup on your menu prices is meant to cover?

Highly unimpressed. No, Kaitlyn, it is not your fault. You did just fine with the hand you were dealt.

First of all the staff was super accommodating, we had made reservations, which we recommend to make, and they were very attentive. We first had a drink at the bar as we waited for our table to be set; the bartender was awesome. It was entertaining to see how many drinks she prepared and how fast. After we sat at our table, our server kept checking in regularly. The food was so so good. Although we waited a bit, it was well worth it. The portions were plenty for a large appetite. This place is a little more upscale, so we did dress up a bit anyway since it was date night. Overall, i highly recommend this place.

This time around, the service was poor, the atmosphere was poor (we felt like we were bothering them by being there), and the prices were way too high for the quality. As young adults, we were excited to try a new restaurant around town and picked Stella’s for its convenient location in downtown De Pere. The restaurant in and of itself was a cute place. That was definitely our favorite part! The food was solid enough, but not for the price point- although the quantity was good, the flavor was pretty bland. The service was pretty poor. Even though it was fairly empty (aside from maybe two other tables), the service took forever, and seeing our server was a rare occurrence. If you’re looking for a place to eat in the Green Bay/De Pere area, there are a lot better alternatives available!

Our service at Stella was excellent. The food, however, was meh. One of us had the prime rib special and it was tough and had very little flavor. One of the others in our party had Cod Oscar. It was swimming in hollandaise and was excessively rich, the third had a type of stuffed shells that were supposed to be in a carbonara but were in an alfredo sauce. Oysters a huge disappointment-the size of a quarter, no saltines, server suggested crostini- horrible- deep fried bread and zero flavor- never again. Now onto the calamari- equally as bad- tasted like fried bread again- zero calamari flavor and sauce was not appropriate. One drink , two sodas charge for crostini, two horrible apps., plus tip-95.00-take my advice and don't waste your money. Nice setting though.

Had an overall delicious meal and pleasant first time at Stella’s! I was a bit worried when I’d seen some reviews about inconsistency from recent patrons but Stella’s pulled thru tonight.

To start, I tried their oysters that have a balanced, tasty nam jim Thai sauce on them. Small in size but great in quality & flavor. Their French onion soup looked beautiful and was delicious to me but was quite salty - if you’re sensitive to salt I’d avoid this dish!

The perch fish fry is AMAZING! Thinly coated and crispy fish, great flavor in the breading. Love the style of fries they have. Tartar sauce was house made and great compliment to the fish. Soft rye bread and light coleslaw.

I finished with their cream brûlée and I was in heaven. This is a common dessert choice for me at American restaurants but Stella’s went above and beyond. They give you SO much of the vanilla bean creamy goodness! 🤤 I am used to a very shallow cream brûlée dish at other places but theirs can easily be shared with two people & not have to worry about small bites.

Very accommodating front of house staff. Friendly, quick service for how busy of a night it was. Chill, fun vibe. I liked the music they played throughout the night. Happy, feel-good stuff. Seems like a great place to stop for drinks & apps. I’m sure it’s even more beautiful when you can enjoy patio dining.

Editing my original review in light of recent visits.

Most recently we dined here last Saturday. Ordered the ribeye and the NY strip special. Both arrived presliced and the ribeye was so thin you couldn't even see it under the French fried onions. We mentioned to our server that it was odd to have our steaks pre sliced, especially at $56 a steak. For that price, I'd hope they know how to cook it. She said she wasn't sure but said she was too scared she'd get in trouble with the cooks if she asked them or we sent it back. Because it was cooked right, we didn't push it.

So. Rewind to a few mo ths ago we came here. Ordered the prime rib and the hostess spilled the juice all over my down coat. She made a haphazard attempt at cleaning it up and simply walked away. No apology. No remorse. No nothing. When we mentioned it to her she ALSO said she was afraid the cooks would find out and she would get in trouble. My husband brought this up to the acting manager, Alex, at the time. He said to send the dry cleaning bill and Stella's would reimburse. Well two months later, still nothing. My husband has to reach out multiple times and finally says we would accept a gift card which STILL takes a month to arrive.

Are the two visits connected or is Stella's simply going downhill? I'm not sure but considering I sent this same message to them privately and directly and have received no response, I'll leave this here. I also won't return to find out.

Why is your waitstaff (which consists of multiple teenage girls in tiny shorts) terrified of your cooks? It's 2024. This shouldn't be a thing anymore.

It has been a few years since we have eaten at Stella’s, with the last time not being too impressed with their dishes, but we decided to try them again.

For drinks we all had a whiskey rye old fashioned sweet, which was very good. Love that they muddle them here.

Appetizer consisted of the calamari which is lightly breaded and then served with a remoulade. The batter that was used looked like it was going to be flavorful but it was actually quite bland. The remoulade appeared to be made with a ground mustard and came across tart and unfortunately didn’t pair well together.

Entrees ordered were the pasta Alfredo with blacken chicken added, cedar plank salmon, a big salad, and then the daily special which was cod oscar.

The pasta Alfredo with blacken chicken, it’s sauce was to tight and broken, but flavored well. The chicken was definitely blackened and had good flavor.

The cedar plank salmon had an orange sherry reduction and was served with fries (as a request) and lemon Parmesan brussel sprouts. The salmon was cooked perfectly but did not have any seasoning other than the glaze which was good but lacked something. The brussel sprouts were unfortunately were past the point of having a nice char and were more burned. The fries were thin cut potato wedges, which were fried great and lightly seasoned.

The salad was just a basic salad consisting of romaine, tomatoes and cucumber accompanied by buttermilk ranch on the side.

The cod Oscar was cod that had a hollandaise sauce with lump crab meat on top and was served with rice pilaf and grilled asparagus. Half of the cod was cooked well, the other half was over cooked and dry. The hollandaise sauce was well seasoned. The rice pilaf was under seasoned and very bland. The asparagus was grilled really good. It had a nice char on it and was super tender.

Our server was very quick, attentive and was great at their job.

If you’re looking for yummy French onion soup or pasta, this is the place! The portions were massive and everything was so good. We left completely stuffed and with tons of leftovers. I had the cajun pasta and Hayden had the shrimp scampi. The desserts sounded amazing, but we were simply too full from dinner to try one.

This was my first time here. We had reservations for 5:30 p.m. I wanted to love it. I'm not sure how to describe it. My food tasted good. I liked the atmosphere, which leaned towards an industrial feel.
Our server arrived promptly. We needed some time to look at the menu. However, it seemed like it took an unusually long time for him to return. It also took forever for our cocktails to arrive. I think the most unusual and unacceptable thing was our entrees. My friend ordered a flatbread and salad. I ordered a pasta entree and a side of vegetables. They brought out all her items at least 15 minutes before mine. My friend had finished her entire meal, and I was still waiting. My food arrived, appearing to have been forgotten under a heat lamp. Although it had a good flavor, the noodles stuck together. The cream sauce had congealed. The Andouille was dried out. We had tickets for a play, so I didn't have time to speak to a manager about my experience. I was disappointed that the wait staff didn't acknowledge the obvious food and service issues, much less apologize for them.
Based on my experience, I don't think I would go back, especially if I had anywhere else I needed to be.

Wonderful staff, food, ambience, service! Date night, arrived without reservations, spacious front bar area offering high top tables or bar seating. Bartenders clearly work as a team and love their jobs, smiles all around, pleasant, attentive service. Cheese curds are very unique and tasty. He had the Waygu burger and yes get the truffle fries, no problem with clean plate club for him. I had pesto chicken, amazing flavor combinations. Every bite was pure deliciousness. This place has it all, great dining area for small or large groups, front and back bars, plenty of seating. Large, locally sourced menu, great wine list. Date night, family dinner, celebration or girls night out, can't go wrong with Stella's!

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Stella's. I ordered the Waygu tenderloin rare. When it was served, I immediately noticed that the porcini mushroom crust was burnt and the top of the steak was overcooked. It was black and crunchy and tasted like charcoal, essentially ruining the steak. The inside wasn't rare, it was raw. Our server was prompt in attempting to rectify the situation, however the manager aggressively approached and essentially told me I was wrong. It was cooked correctly and that it was intended to be black. The manager was rude, aggressive and dismissive. After this experience I will never visit this place again or recommend it to anyone.

Came in at the perfect time. It wasn't busy and food was great. Our service was prompt and welcoming. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the pasta sauce on both dishes (shrimp lemon Alfredo specifically) was a little thin and almost soupy which lead to drips on my shirt, flavor was not lacking however. In addition to that the French onion soup had great presentation, flavor was full and robust, but it was way too salty and the croutons were completely dissolved when I tried to scoop one out. Those are things that can be over looked as that's not the main attraction. Bruschetta and creme brulee stole the show. Regardless of your main course those are great additions to your meal.

The menu has lots of good options, and the ambiance is pleasant. Our server was very friendly, but she was also scarce and hard to track down when we needed something. We were told that the kitchen is currently understaffed, which would likely explain why the food on this visit wasn’t as great as on previous visits.

Regardless, I like Stella’s, will return, and definitely recommend it.

The Good - our wait staff was super, she was young but trained very well and just a joy

The Bad - it was THE Worst salad ever, Beet Salad with Salmon….it sounded good but very little flavor and the amount of salmon was literally a sliver -maybe a half inch by 3 inches

The Ugly - we were seated at a small table for 2, there were 3 tables set right next to each other and wouldn’t you know the chatty senior couple sat right next to us - my friend and I were there to catch up but we couldn’t because we were so close and they continued to engage in conversation. Lastly, someone dropped a French Fry on the patio next to our table and within 5 minutes there were so many ants on it that it was almost all black and there were ants crawling on the customers shoe as well……don’t maximize the space it truly isn’t a good experience OR train your staff to ask, there were plenty of open tables of 4 that we would have enjoyed

We had a reservation. Didn't get seated at our reservation time. And then we sat at a table for 30 minutes with no menus, no drinks, and a server never even came over to check on us. After the 20 minutes we asked three separate servers for help. Two of them ignored us and the other said they'd be over shortly, but never showed up. The server Thomas was so nice, professional, and friendly. He even wished my friend a happy belated birthday (reason why we went out). I had a great (and large) beet salad and then a pasta special with chicken. My dinner was okay- would have preferred if the vodka sauce had a better taste. Started the night with drinks at the bar. It was about a 40 minute wait for a table. No issues. This is Wisconsin, and who doesn't like a great wisco old fashioned. (that part is actually 4 or 5 stars). Our table was ready so we closed the bar tab and brought the remaining drinks with us. Our server took our order. 1 hour later, after another table asking us if we had seen a server, we said no (by this time our drinks were long since finished, water was drank and we were just wondering what was going on).

I saw another table get seated and served their dinner before us. I saw our server (1 time) come and take the order for another table and not look in our general direction at all. At that point is was just time to leave. No idea how the food is, I'm sure it is great if it ever comes.

So happy I found this place! Moved from California last year and have been looking for a spectacular restaurant in town. This is definitely it! I went with my family on Saturday and we had a list of items for dinner. We had the sausage pepperoni Flatbread, cheesecurd cubes, beet salad, bruschetta, French onion soup, shrimp scampi, prime rib, ribeye steak, sangria, molten lava cake and the Stella sundae. We split the Brussel Flatbread, which was AMAZING. I was dreaming of having it again right after we left. The Brussel sprouts were nice and flaky without being burnt, the Flatbread was crispy and then you add some cheese and balsamic reduction and it's a great dish.

For dinner we had the prime rib sandwhich with pozole soup and chicken n'waffles. The prime rib was nice and tender. The chicken n'waffles were also good, the menu said it came with Maple syrup. However I think the sauce I received was more like a teriyaki sauce or something similar. I think it complemented the dish better than maple syrup would have.

We each got an alcoholic beverage, as well. No complaints on that end either.

My work crew and I were just there to celebrate one of our employee's birthdays and the food was terrible. 2 people got the 1/2 chicken and it was suppose to be coconut turmeric marinade and it was tasteless. Stopped in to give Stella's another whirl. While I was unimpressed by the bruschetta, the flatbread rocked my world. Adorned with oil, cheese, bacon, balsalmic, and an absolute mountain of fried brussels sprout petals, every single bite was flavorful and decadent with a wonderfully crisp mouth feel.

The "Sconnie" old fashioned was another high point of the meal. It combines a classic brandy old fashioned with a traditional brandy slush. Behind each sip of this remarkable cocktail, you can almost feel Wisconsin's rich heritage wash over you.

Also refreshing was the visable community Stella's has formed with their staff. During my stay, I actively watched their team work together to provide their customers with the best possible service. Refreshing to see in such a stressful environment as food service.
