Went Thur evening around 7:30pm. Sign on podium states "wait to be seated". No waitress around. Bartender was talking with bar patrons and did not acknowledge us and even looked right at us. Stood for a couple of minutes. Decided to use bathroom and returned to standing. Bar had about 8-10 people and one table of 4 men. That was it. Bartender still did not acknowledge us and finally after about 5 minutes Sarah came out of kitchen and told us to take a seat anywhere. We waited for Sarah to return to take order and we even got up to leave when she came back out of kitchen. Ordered crab/artichoke dip and two prime rib french dips. Never got to try the dip as sandwiches were brought out first. Told Sarah to take dip off our order as it was supposed to be our appetizer. She said there was another basket sitting there and then it dawned on her that it was our dip. Not sure what she was doing because it was our table and the other one and they were not eating. She kept getting lost in the kitchen. Don't get the french dip late at night - dried out and little cheese. Terrible. It seems to be more of a bar atmosphere because a group of guys where playing bar dice and were VERY loud. NOT impressed with service or food. Terrible experience and will NOT return.

This was brutal. We were seated and waited for over 15 minutes before a server acknowledged we were there. We finally got water at our table. We foolishly waited for over 1 hour for food that never arrived. We had to have been there being naive/patient, as the server came by twice to say our food was coming shortly, for 1.5 hours in total. There was then no "manager" on duty to take responsibility for our experience. We finally realized we had been forgotten and left. By the way. The place was not even busy.

Edit 10/30/2023: As expected, the owner again has lied. Those drinks were paid for. We used all 29 of our City Tin coasters this year. 28 of 29 were excellent, and then there was this place. You need to recheck that camera footage or add more cameras. Looking back at every 1 or 2 star review in the past year, it looks like you just can't take a "bad" review.

Edit 11/1/2023: I reported the incident to the CityTin program. They dealt with this in a professional manner and will take it into consideration moving forward. Based on the experience that night it sounds like you want to be part of the program, but based on my experience and at least 1 other review on here, it seems like you don't treat customers that use it like you treat others. Does your camera footage include your bartender drinking 3 shots with customers in less than an hour?

Initial review:
Let's try this again. My previous review was berated by the owner and I removed it becaused they tried to publicly defame me by lying.

We were here about 3 weeks ago. They attempted to charge us twice for the beers we purchased - initially (which we paid with cash) and then after the meal as part of our check. The bartender had at least 3 shots with the customers next to us. So much for responsible bartending? The fries were half burnt, the sandwiches were average. They also tried to treat them to an extra $5 tip that had to be disputed with our bank to get the money returned. These are the facts, regardless of what the owner tries to state on here.

We only went because of the CityTin program. We have used all but 1 of our coasters (plan to use the final one tomorrow) and all of the other businesses were excellent. This one, not so much.

To the owner: I now have more reviews on Google, take a look for yourself. There are many fine establishments in the area and I have publicly praised them with the correct number of stars they deserve.

They say that their fried brussel sprouts and homemade tortilla chips are gluten free but they are fried in a shared fryer. So not for persons with Celiac's. The burger I had was very good and it was served on a gluten-free bun. I was unable to have anything fried like french fries or their homemade chips so I opted for applesauce.

We found this place on Google Maps, and because they said they had gluten-free options, we tried it. I ordered a BLT, and it was tasty as we're the chips served with it. My friend needed gluten-free and was able to get a gf bun for her burger, but even though the tortilla chips are gf, they are cross contaminated due to being fried in the same fryer as everything else. So, really, not much for a side that's gluten-free beside a salad or applesauce.

I had contacted the restaurant to find out if they had a kids menu, and was encouraged by the owner to go ahead and bring my grandchildren in for lunch, so we did. Both kids managed to find something they wanted, but there was a ton of waste. My 12 year old granddaughter was taken aback by the huge picture of Marilyn Monroe outside the ladies room(completely naked from the waist up). I’m no prude, but based on that alone, I would not call this a family friendly restaurant. The food was just okay.

Four of us stopped in for a friday night fish fry. Had a couple of drinks at the bar while we waited about 10 minutes for a table. The draft beer was ice cold, and the ole fashions were delicious. Fish fry was hot, crisp, and flaky. Cole slaw was good and really liked the rye bread. The only thing that kept it from being a 5 star review was that we had to use the lights from our phones to read the menus. We would definitely stop in again.

Not sure when they remodeled but it is very nice now, great fish fry, nice variety, I had the blue gill, it was terrific. Wife and I stopped by for dinner, Sat., April 5, 2025 for the first time. First impressions are everything. Jamie was our server and she was absolutely amazing. She gets five stars all by herself. We were very disappointed to realize she was working the entire place by herself with no help from the bartender. The hostess helped bus tables and that was it. Great local place to stop in for a good bite, or a good drink, or both. My first time here but my nephew & his wife were repeat customers, telling me it was a good restaurant. The blue gill fish fry and the baked Italian cod were both great & our server was appropriately attentive. My nephew's wife had ordered a side salad that she had to ask for halfway through our meal, the Hogg fries were mostly small bits of overcooked potato & who makes a Bloody Mary with cucumber vodka??? We had to send it back as it just did not taste right. The three of us arrived at about 4:30pm on this Friday and finished our meal & drinks by 5:30pm. I paid the bill and got up to use the restroom before we left. When I came back to our table, a short brunette girl was at our table telling us that we had to vacate the table so they could "turn it over" for more customers!! #1, there was absolutely NO one waiting for a table inside or outside the restaurant, and #2, there were at least (2) four tops and a couple (2)s cleaned, set and ready for customers! WTH??? If I had taken more time to think about it, I would've asked to speak to the manager or owner. Totally uncalled for & it's unlikely that I will return, despite the good meal.

My husband took only a couple bites from his fish sandwich and decided to stop eating because it had an off putting taste. My brisket Mac and Cheese looked really good, but it didn't meet expectations. We didn't stay for very long because we had to go to an event. Good luck getting a drink if you’re not a local. There was nobody out at the tables asking if we needed food or drinks on a Sunday when there was a band playing. Service was horrible and it smelled like a dumpster. Great food, atmosphere and service. We have tried the fish fry, brisket sandwich, French dip which you can make a Philly and finally the pizza. Wow great food. Love the remodel also. Fast service also. Gotta come and check it out.

If you want bikers, this be the place. It's too loud, to noisy, music to loud. Congested at times. You will either like it or hate it. My food sucked, others liked theirs. Give it try.

All my years in the restaurant business , I have never had such a rude bartender when we waited for boxes and asked her again after 5 minutes, her reply was ya well now it’s gonna be six minutes. When I could see here drinking a shot and could have grabbed the boxes that were right next to her
We have always had really great service but this was horrible. I guess her tip reflected her attitude.

Went this past Sunday, the place was not busy at all….we waited 27 minutes and finally received our food. I ordered the French dip, my boyfriend ordered the Italian bomber. The beef tasted old, it was definitely not fresh. You could taste it was cooked, the refrigerated and then reheated to serve. His Italian bomber hardly had cheese or marinara on it, tasted like a plain old sausage burger. The fries were good.

I don't usually leave reviews but this place hands down has the best bluegill I've ever had. It was my wife and my first time there we got there looked packed which is understandable it's Friday in Wisconsin but to our surprise they had a seat for us right away the server was super nice and fast the food was amazing and came out very fast extremely impressed they deserve 10 stars definitely recommend this place we will be back!!!
