Vino!Vino! Restaurant Hours: Open Daily 12:00pm-6:00pm
The Stone’s Throw collection raises the bar for fine California wines… our wines are skillfully handcrafted here, remaining true to the tradition of artisan wine-making. With talent, passion and expertise honed over 40 years, we hand-select the finest California grapes, treat them gently and minimally, then match them to either French or American oak barrels where they rest until balanced and elegant. Although ready to drink at time of release, they will continue to improve and will remain cellar-worthy for years to come.

While visiting friends in Wisconsin we had the pleasure of experiencing Stone Throw’s Winery. The atmosphere was stylishly luxurious. There are two separate rooms one for wine tasting and one for the “wine and dine” experience. I doubt you could go wrong with either but we chose the wine and dine. It is an adorable bar area with several tables. There is a gorgeous patio filled with greenery that we admired from the bar. Both the wine and food were incredible. The meatballs and bruschetta are a must try. The service team were personable and highly knowledgeable. 10/10 recommend if you are in the area.

This place is a gem! I loved that you could have a tasting, or a glass with a small plate to enjoy. Then there are the wines!!!! They really had my favorite type of “dry” where most wineries in the area don’t carry those. GREAT fun, great service, will definitely return when in the area.

If you like sweet wine stay away because your pallet cant handle this fantastic place! I do not like wine and I found multiple I enjoyed. Bill was great and he is surprisingly good at guessing occupations. Give a friendly hello and enjoy!

Went there for a tasting and couldn't get served. They just passed us by without saying anything. After 30 minutes standing at the bar we left. I would advise going elsewhere.

The topsy turvy reviews of this place are misleading. It's a beautiful winery in the middle of lovely Door County. It's a must-do and perfect way to spend an afternoon on vacation. Great wine, good people, gorgeous space.

This is a great winery that happens to be in Door County. However, it is NOT a ‘Door County winery’! Don’t come here if you’re hopping from winery to winery (you will be sorely disappointed when faced with real wine).
If you’ve never heard of vitis vinifera, this winery is NOT for you. It IS, however, for those who appreciate fine wines (as opposed to the alcoholic fruit beverages served at most Wisconsin wineries). Stone’s Throw appears to be one of only three Wisconsin wineries producing truly fine wines (along with Blind Horse Winery in Kohler and Von Stiehl Winery in Algoma).
Yes, the atmosphere is pretentious. It pairs well with their fine Zinfandel. I was so impressed, I joined their wine club. Cheers!
I will work on getting them to provide palate cleansing crackers and water with their tastings, but the lack thereof is a minor weakness.

Update 1 month later , visited after 3 other wineries and they were the best. Just had a bottle of the Zin and it was spectacular....Was skeptical at first because they use only Napa area grapes, no local. After Bill explained "what's up", we enjoyed what we sampled and bought 4 bottles! All had good body, aroma, and taste, unlike the wanna bees on 42.

Wine/food was ok and server was pleasant. Got seated on the back 40 as only 2 of us and dog. Was told the closer seats were reserved for 4 or more. Definitely cater to “members” in wine club and not tourists.

Return visit after an absence of a few years to find the tasting area is as perfectly appointed as previously experienced for the enjoyment of the tapas menu and wine list. This is the place to end a day tour of the wineries of Door County or a family gathering with the wonder that taste and style is still found in a county known for cherry orchards and fish boils. A great place to reconnect with the meaning of adult.

Server was nice.
Overheard staff telling other customers that the owner didnt want to associate with the type of customer associated with the Wine Trolley available in the area. Like they're too good to oartake in the Door County experience. No local fruits used. But they're not too fancy to do an NFL Draft wine or one with a random cowboy man looking drunk on the front of the bottle.
$14 or $18 to try 5 wines is the most expensive in the area.
Move your business to Sonoma if thats how good you think you are.
Moscato is good.

Michael in the tasting room never lets us down. We tried a new white and a new red and bought a few bottles of each to bring home and enjoy.
Maddie served us well next door. We ordered several things on the menu at Vino! Vino! — the octopus, antipasti, shrimp, meatballs—and spent a lovely, sunny afternoon with a great bottle of Petite Syrah. All in all, it was about a $450 day in celebration of my husband’s birthday. We chose to spend the afternoon at STW today.
We come to DC at least once or twice a year for a week or two at a time and have been members for a few years now.
Being a member means we get a discounted rate on the bottles of wine shipped to us and any reorders of those wines, as well as seating in the members’ lounge area when we visit. The delivered wine comes with a nice brochure introducing the wine selection, informing us about different topics related to wine, and sharing a great recipe.
Membership has allowed us to learn about and sample different wines we may otherwise have never tried. Sure, there are times we love the selections sent to us and times we think “don’t love it” but have paid for it anyway—and we have been okay with that to this point. We like to learn—and paid the $85-90 dollars monthly for the experience.
Unfortunately, at the end of our visit today we decided to cancel our membership at STW. It has nothing to do with the wine.
I grew up with parents who owned a small business— a restaurant. I always observed my parents interacting with customers. They cultivated new customers, of course, but knew that their repeat, loyal customers mattered and helped sustain their business. Those customers continued to choose their business and spend money there on a regular basis My parents went out of their way to make those people feel valued and to show their appreciation for the continued patronage. They made them feel like family when they came in.
And this is where STW falls short for us. Despite always being visible and out in the open area at one table or another, the owner just seems like he can’t be bothered to walk over and extend a welcome to club members. To say “thanks for coming” to the people who buy his wine monthly throughout the year. Not even a hello or a nod. Even when we walked through the patio to and from our seating area.
We spent a couple of hours sitting in the “special” seating while we watched him sitting with friends, mingling and visiting among other customers on the patio. As he should. Everyone who visits an establishment should welcomed.
But he’s friendly to some people and not others, or he’ll say hello on one visit and not acknowledge you the next two times. You’ll sit in the “special” seating area reserved for members and he’ll see you, but makes no effort to wave. It’s like the teacher who plays favorites in the classroom while the rest of the kids are wondering what they are doing wrong.
After a couple of hours, we thought to ourselves “what is so special about this?”. And then, “how else could we be spending our money every month”?
We can still enjoy Stones Throw wines when we visit if we aren’t members. We can still order our favorites online. The discount might be less, but we can save by not having to pay for wines we don’t like in the monthly membership shipments.
Maybe being in the “club” isn’t worth what we are getting in return. We don’t feel the investment is mutual.
Perhaps our expectations are too high. In my Italian family, hospitality looked much different when people came to your home or business.
Stones Throw makes good wine, and we hope they continue to thrive, but it is short two members as of today. It just left a bad taste in our mouths. We are going to put our money elsewhere each month.
My parents had a saying in their restaurant: if we pleased you, please tell your friends. If we didn’t, please tell US.
So, we share our experience.
Yes, the owner can issue the expected terse response here, but we hope this just presents an opportunity for the teacher to learn. And to do better.

We enjoyed our visit at Stone's Throw! Timed our visit to be right at open as we had our three young children in tow (10& under). We had activities for them and had a really nice time. Yes, it is more of a Napa or French stylized tasting experience but that's the point. If you bring your kids prep them beforehand that there are no games, no places to sit, and it's more of a museum (that's how I explained it). Keep an eye on them and you'll be just fine. Delicious single varietals. Thank you for great conversation Bill! I'll be back!

Do NOT go here. Horribly rude staff. Not sure who served us but he was unbelievably rude. I mean I am honestly speechless as to why anyone would treat anyone this way let alone someone who serves people. Reused our glasses for red and white bc “we didn’t know how to properly taste wine so what difference does it make if the glasses are reused”. Who says that to someone? There were many other rude comments made by this person as well. Based on other reviews I am not surprised. This sounds on par with how they usually treat their customers. Another observation is their comments back to reviewers defending their behavior.

We used to love coming to Stones Throw. The first few times Russel was nice. The last few times not so much and we are done going there! Last summer a lady yelled out of the second floor at a couple with small kids because the kids were touching a metal statue…the kids were just being normal kids and actually really behaving well! It was uncomfortable and very obnoxious! We stopped today and there was a chance of rain, the entire inside table’s were reserved so the kind young lady asked if we were ok chancing the rain, we were, and she sat us outside. Russell went inside after she sat us and yelled at her which was totally inappropriate, I’m sure embarrassing for the young lady seating us but also us as well! They have good food and wine not unless his attitude changes and he appreciates the people spend their money there, I think he’s not going to fair well

HUGE miss for our family. Asked for water for the table and ment just tap water but was brought $8 still water. Can’t do wine tasting if you want food which was dumb cause we had no clue what we wanted and lost the ability to want to buy a bottle to take home. Sandwich we had the bread was stale and served on a board and could not even eat the salad it came with as it slid off the board. Stupid and Pretentious plating. Can’t split the check ( 50/50 not per party) again…it’s the fine details that were missed. Only thing was nice was the ambiance. Would choose something different for sure.

The wine tasting was a great experience! Our server was super friendly, knowledgeable, and talkative. (his name is escaping me). After our tasting, we purchased a bottle of wine, then went over to the bar area that served small plates and glasses of wine. There were about a dozen people at the bar. The owner, Russel, was behind the bar with 2 other servers. They provided excellent service, great stories, and some laughs. We ordered a charcuterie board which was delicious. If you're fixated on price, maybe this isn't the place for you. I didn't think it was unreasonable by any means. The wines were high quality, the pours were healthy, and the experience was more than worth it.

I've been here several times and loved it. As other people have mentioned, it can be pricey and service can be a little slow. However, it all makes sense in my experience as the servers/experts take their time explaining the wines and pairings while offering friendly (and funny) service. I am absolutely willing to pay a little extra and be patient for an engaging tasting experience. I'm not going to a tasting to gulp down wine (at least not only that). I can do that at home. I pay for the experience and the experience at Stone's Throw is worth the price.

Very rarely will you find a tourist activity that truly captures the EXACT essence of what you're searching for. Sometimes, it's a total miss. Usually - it's great but for a few bummers in service/location/etc. But every now and then, you can find the PERFECT experience! My wife, Deb, and I found this at Stone's Throw. We were treated like family visiting for the holidays. As if we were transported into wine country and took a break from a hard day's work to gather around an elevated, yet rustic bar, slow down from life and share camaraderie with great folks. The service and friendship and interesting/funny conversation with our wine tasting host, Michael, and the owner, Russel, was VIP-level service; yet - from the stories they tell and family/friends who have also visited ST, I know for a fact that this is just how they treat everyone. The location was perfect, the parking was easy, the space was warm, beautiful and inviting and the wine was TOP NOTCH. My wife literally told me on the drive home that she didn't even realize that this was the wine-tasting experience she had been hoping for for years, but now that she'd experienced it - it was all that she wanted and more and the best one of her life. I couldn't speak more highly of my new friends at Stone's Throw or the masterful wines they produce - and I know that Deb and I will be enjoying this memory with every sip of the bottles we bought for ourselves/family/friends and will be dashing back up to see them again soon. Thanks guys! Happy Holidays!

2024 update:
Arrived with a group of 6 girls on a Saturday at noon to the tasting room - we were denied service and asked to leave because my friend had a bride sash on. We were all in our late thirties, sober, and tastefully dressed. We asked if she could take the sash off and still do a tasting-- the bartender said no. I have never been so rudely treated. We promptly left and I won't return.
2021 review:
Their patio is great! Beautiful grounds and area.
But, their wines have gotten a lot pricier lately. And the tasting room was a tad pretentious. I didn't like one of the wines and the server was visibly offended by me asking to pour it out.

The property is beautiful. It was pretty busy so waited a while to try a tasting and ended up leaving to just have a glass outside from the tapas place in the same building. The staff there was good & the wine (I assume from the same winery) was really nice. I’ll give it a try again with altered expectations. I still think it’s worth a stop, but definitely a more elevated, quiet space.

Would have given a zero if possible. Tasting room was dead at noon on a Saturday. Had a few ladies for a tasting and we were immediately asked to leave as we stepped in the door simply because we were a bachelorette group. We waited for more than 20 minutes in the wine tasting room and not one employee approached my husband and I. Two ladies left upset because no one approached them either. One employee restocked full shelves while another took 25 minutes to check out 2 customers. We ended up in the wine bar and got 1 glass of wine. The atmosphere felt snobbish and we will not go back. Check out Von Stiehl, you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent wine and environment, but the snooty staff killed it for us. We've been there twice, but unlikely to go back again as both times the experience was the same. I'm the driver when my wife wants to go wine tasting, therefore not drinking much, and this is the only winery in all of Door County where they outright disallow me from having a taste of my wife's flight we paid for, or finishing a glass she didn't want to finish. The attitude was so uninviting and stuck up that we chose not to buy and won't return.

If I could give a -5* I would! Do not join their wine club!!! First of all, we purchased 360.00 worth of wine and they still charged us for wine tastings! Most wineries forgo that with such a large purchase. Then 2 days later I was charge another 85.00 from them without ever receiving an email or notification what is was for! I then received a notice from UPS that it was going to be for wine. They then told me that someone had to be home to sign for it and we were still traveling. I still never received anything from the winery regarding what it was. After I complained and said I wanted to cancel because of horrible customer service, they refunded the amount and cancelled my membership. Then a week later I was charged another 128.00 for the savings I received for joining the club and spending almost 400.00. They called it a penalty for canceling before I received 4 bottles of wine. Even though I was never informed of this. I have never had such a horrible experience and we have been members with other wine clubs without such awful tactics. STAY AWAY!!!!!They have shady business practices!!!!!

Stay away. Here was our experience: We came to listen to a jazz combo. As we were leaving, owner flagged down my parents' car, walked over, and screamed at them because apparently spending $60 plus tip for a few drinks and some appetizers isn't enough to justify being there for two hours to listen to the full set. At no point while we were there did I feel any pressure from the server to order more, he mostly left us alone, and we only got the bill a little before we left anyhow, so it's not like we could have left earlier if we wanted to. Owner said "Never show your face here again" which, believe me, we will not.

Always a great experience! We go to Door Co every year for a girls trip. This year at Stone's Throw we did our tasting with Dan and he was an absolute joy! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Stone's Throw is definitely for fans of red wine, as there are only a few non-red choices. But Dan was super helpful in helping me pick out wines that I would like. Wine bottles for purchase ARE expensive ($30-70+ per bottle) but you obviously don't have to purchase those. You can do a tasting for somewhere between $14-18 (if I remember correctly). It's a great experience even if you don't purchase any bottles afterward. Can't wait til next year!

I had to change a review I left years ago, but our experiences here have been slowly going downhill, to the point that we no longer want to go here. We just cancelled our wine club membership - if it means anything, we didn't even want to go here for our free wine tastings. There is still one person that works the wine tastings that is fabulous - the rest are rude, slow to acknowledge you, and it's just an uncomfortable experience. We've also had an unfortunate experience in the bar area next door, where we were sitting next to a local and the owner was behind the counter. They spent an hour complaining and making fun of other Door County establishments, several of which are very popular and for a reason, and the owner kept pouring wine into his glass. I realize it was his discretion who he gives free drinks to, but my husband was literally drinking the same wine and it was $20 a glass. He then sent the guy home with two more bottles. It just turned us off.

Me and my mother entered the tasting room and it was 15-20 minutes before someone acknowledged us, but I initially looked past this because the location was busy. Eventually, someone asked us to move to the other end of the bar which we had no problem doing. A woman working there roughly let us know about the tasting menu and we began checking off what we wanted to order and then a male staff member came and picked up the menus we were writing on and threw them away! I let him know that those were the menus with the choices we picked out and he didn't even apologize which I felt was very rude. Another group came in and sat near us and the same man who gave us no apology and left us waiting for service made a show to tell them that he was sorry about the wait and that he "wouldn't want them to feel ignored". I'm unsure if this was because he assumed they were more worth his time? We were about to leave after another 10-15 minutes but he finally began the tasting. Overall I can tell you from my experience wine tasting (I travel to go to wine tastings every summer) this is by far the worst/most rude service I've ever had. I would avoid it.

Unfortunately we have only had worse and worse experiences each time we visit and their wine is outrageously overpriced. We visited this winery about two year’s ago for the first time and we were blown away by the wine, we had a great tasting also with a knowledgeable staff member… However, we went back a year later, this time we didn’t purchase a membership and only went for the tasting and to purchase a few bottles and the staff were all very degrading as if we knew nothing about wine. We tried sitting outside after purchasing a bottle and were told to move as the outdoor seating is a separate establishment, this is very confusing and makes no sense, especially when the other establishment was not open and serves the same wine by the glass! Fast forward another year later to by far the worst experience we have had to date; first you are greeted by a sign preparing you for what you are walking into which immediately drew us back and we contemplated walking away. Upon walking in we were not greeted, another group walked in behind us and also were not greeted. We stepped up to the very small tasting bar and sat for several minutes before finally being greeted and asked if we’d like a tasting, the rest of the time it was very minimal interactions and again very degrading as if we know nothing about wine. It was horrendous customer service and the owner of this winery really needs to take a step back and understand the location they chose before acting better than everyone. There are several wineries in the area, including one in Egg Harbor that has great red wine options for a much more reasonable price!

The tasting room and wine bar are both under the Stones Throw name but you cannot sit on the patio at the wine bar even if you buy a bottle from the tasting room. That is kind of screwed up. If I could give negative stars I would…
We arrived at the winery and waited 5 minutes to even be acknowledged by the 3 staff members behind the completely empty bar. Once the waiter was ready to seat us he chose a high top table with high chairs on wood chips (incredibly unstable) and we had our older mothers with us and a baby. So instead we chose a picnic table and the waiter proceeded to tell us in a very snippy, condescending tone, we don’t serve on the wooded deck top. We then asked if we could go to the bar and order wine ourselves and he replied yes. When entering the bar area, the three staff made no effort to acknowledge our presence in any way shape or form. While waiting a larger group of younger guests approached the bar where the owner told the staff “we will not be serving them, they need to leave.” The group was not acting inappropriately in anyway that would suggest they would cause a scene.

If you’re looking for a tasting with 15 minutes between each pour look no further. Staff was more concerned about selling memberships than helping those just there for a tasting. My husband enjoys anything but a sweet wine and enjoyed a semi-dry red, the Malbec. We snacked on the Bruschetta Trio. It is overpriced, but I was hungry and enjoy bruschetta and had had it before! I was disappointed/surprised to see such a price jump on the Angelique bottled wine!
Plus- the tapas bar was packed. The staff did a nice job with such a busy day! The tables/seating are tight. I'd rather sit a little right in order to be seated rather than have to wait longer for a bit more space!

My husband and I did a tasting at Stones Throw and it did not disappoint! Sharon helped us navigate our way through the wines and was both professional and fun! Russell even came out for some wine and a chat and we left with some new favorites. This place is not to be missed when you’re in Door County!!

My fiance and I were so excited to come here after a recommendation from a friend that said they have dry wines. The wine and food were good but the atmosphere felt so unbelievably pretentious.
We were there mid-day in the middle of the week and there were only 3 other groups there at the time. The owner talked to everyone but us. Maybe because we are young? Maybe because we were out hiking beforehand so we were dressed down? But it definitely felt like we were judged for no reason and not welcome here.

Girlfriend and I took a weekend trip to Door County. Did a little research in finding things to do before heading up there. Found this winery to be the best according to Pinterest. Wow, was it very wrong!! We did there and not sure where to really go. We ask at the front to order wine. But first you must be seated by someone. We get out at a high table but there are a bunch of other lower tables that were empty. It took our server 15 minutes to come to our table to get our order. We were about to leave, since who would wait so low to get someone. First I ask if we could get a lower table, apparently that's out of the question. The girl looked confused why we would want a different table but it was empty and open. Apparently it wasn't available though. I ask what the sweetest wine they have which is what I like. They tell me some brand and it was about $20 a glass. I figured I would try it out. We get our wines, it was absolutely disgusting. It wasn't sweet at all, it tasted dry and bitter, I could barely swallow it down. Plus our glass wasn't even a quarter full, it was about a drizzle. Like basically a sample of wine for $20!! Glad I didn't have a lot because of how gross it was. It took a long time to get our bill but we wanted to get out of there. It was just so disgusting and absolutely will never come back or recommend this winery to our door county friends.

I specifically came here for dry wines because I'm not a big fan of sweet wines which are very popular in Door County. This winery offers beautiful grounds and comfortable seating areas which I couldn't enjoy because they didn't offer the outdoor seating for us! We came here in the late afternoon to enjoy great wines and the surroundings while the kids play outside but we were told we can't be outside, we need to stay in the room and taste the wines one by one. I'm used to order wine flights and taste them in the order I want and share them with my husband. We always order different flights, then taste them and share, and then buy a few bottles for our wine closet and to enjoy with out friends. We talk to each other, watch our kids playing and always have a great time while spending time in wineries. Here in this winery they offered a totaly different approach - you need to stay inside, stand and taste wines. I wanted to have a flight of premium wines but I left this winery with the huge dissapointment. This is a very different experience for me and I've been to wine tastings in California, Midwest and Europe. I cannot recommend...

Stones Throw is a breath of fresh air in a sweet wine environment. Their wine is fantastic and service also equally as good. Facility is set up perfectly to enjoy all they have to offer. All the food we had was prepared perfectly and we enjoyed almost everything on the menu. It was a special occasion for us with the celebration of our daughters birthday. The venue made this special day GREAT.
I would recommend this to all who enjoy good wine and a special place to enjoy it.

This is such a pretty place to visit and enjoy a taste of wine. There is a companion wine bar called Vino Vino that is a nice place for a glass of wine and has great patio and outdoor seating with bocce courts as well. (But not a dog friendly patio.) Having been here numerous times over the years, I can say the wine is always good and they have a nice variety, without any of that touristy overly sweet cherry or apple wine that you get in a lot of Door County wineries.
The reason I cannot give it a higher rating is that over the years, the prices have gone so high. The grapes are imported from California, and frankly, you can get great Napa and Sonoma wines at the wine store for half the price. Also, the tastings are pricey with two different levels you can buy, but they used to include a glass in the price of the tasting so we always did it, because we like the glasses for everyday wine drinking. Now you have to pay separately if you want a glass to take home, and the tastings have not gone down in price as a result. I realize that inflation has taken its toll on everything, but here, the changes have taken this place from”It’s pricey but we enjoy stopping in for a tasting and a few bottles while we are here” to “ there is just no reason to buy the overpriced wines. Not even a glass with the tasting, not worth stopping anymore unless maybe you want a glass on the patio at Vino Vino.” We are sad to cross this place off of our list of regular stops when we visit.

Spent Labor Day doing a few wine tastings in door county. We visited 4 winery’s and had a great time tasting, talking, and learning. Most of the tastings ranged from $5 to $10 to free … until we got to Stones Throw. The tasting flight was $18 and we were promptly told No Sharing. It was interesting - no other place had an issue with sharing. It’s not about the price - we can certainly afford the $18 bucks. It’s more about splitting the small samples with my wife to enjoy and discuss together. At every other place we shared our flights, ordered full glasses and bought a few bottles. Needless to say we said goodbye to Stone Throw and won’t be back. Wine tasting tours should be fun - certainly not as pretentious at this one.

This is, hands down, our favorite winery in Door County! My husband and I have been coming here for almost 10 years and it’s always a must-stop on our visits.
On our most recent stop we discovered that our toddler LOVED the meatballs, so much so that we had to stop back 4x so he could get his fix. Russell, the owner, couldn’t have been sweeter. There are so many establishments in the Chicagoland area where they treat you like you’re the best when you’re there but then don’t know who you are when you return. This couldn’t be further from the truth here. Russell greeted our son each time like he was his own grandchild.
I could not recommend this place more to anyone visiting the Door Peninsula, especially if you love great reds and amazing Italian bites!

Would NEVER come here again. We spoke with various wineries in the Door County area and they have all heard the horror stories about Stone's Throw Winery, turning away people, arrogant staff, rude, I could go on and on. We’ve been coming to this winery for the past 3 years and today was our last time. The owner, Russell didn’t say hi or acknowledge us. I came with my husband, our dog and baby in the stroller. I walked in with the stroller and followed the blonde waitress, for the next couple minutes I stood there waiting and my husband waiting outside with our dog while Russell and the waitress tried to figure out where to put us…Russell made us feel very unwelcome and like it was an inconvenience to seat us with our stroller and dog. There were also many open seats. So finally he said, “I guess just put them there…” He then asked if “we are drinking only or eating and drinking.” I said, probably just drinking. And his response was: “that was the wrong answer…” The hour we were there Russell stopped at every table to say hi and chat except ours, there were 4 tables total. We’ve never felt so unwelcome in Door County. We are never going back and will be giving our business to other wineries, along with our friends and family.

***LARGE PARTIES CANNOT CHOOSE THEIR WINE TASTING***
If you have 9 people, you cannot customize your wine tasting apparently. Oh, and it costs $14 for 5 drinks.
There are PLENTY of other wineries where you can pick your 5 wines whatever type you want, and only pay $5! Don't waste your time!
Also, we laughed at a hilarious photo in an empty room and got yelled at and threatened. No one *asked* us to be quiet, you were berated and disrespected. I don't recommend going here!

We we’re just in there and they refused to serve us. It is a group of 8 people, our first stop on our bachelorette weekend. We were very polite, but rather than greeting us warmly we walked in and were glared at by the hostess. She went and “asked” if we could be served but it was very clear we would not be. We were told no and then when we called to question they told us we had to make a reservation for a bachelorette party. 2 weeks earlier one of us tried to make a reservation and were told absolutely not because it was a bachelorette party. Overall awful communication and disrespect. We’re still going to have a great weekend but this should not have been an issue we had to deal with.

The grapes are shipped from California but made here, so it's not entirely a local product. They only have dry wines. They also do NOT let you share a tasting; you must order your own flight. We walked out. Do wish we would've known all that before going; we would've gone elsewhere to start.

We came here today for a tasting but were turned away rudely at the tasting room. We understood that they were short staffed (3 people running the tasting room and maybe about 10 customers in there) and were more than willing to wait/break our group up. The waitress also told us they required reservations no matter how big the group was but that was not true—we talked to others who confirmed this. It was really just one waitress that was rude but it was disappointing and unexpected. We also noticed that a few other reviews noted that this winery may have an issue with minorities, which is suspect considering we had multiple people of color in our group. There are lots of other great wineries in the area— go to them.

Not all wineries are created equally. It seems like every tourist area (& plain ole suburb) has a cough syrup cranking establishment at $15 bottle & people eat it up. Still, I'm determined to check the local offerings.
Per reviews, these guys cater to old people (cool, I'm no spring chicken) & tend to favor people who "might" buy... (again, that's me) PLUS they don't serve syrupy-sweet drinks, sticking with imported grapes & keeping it dry... count me in, we have a winner!
We peeked at the products before wandering towards the bar top, where we (& everyone else) were greeted immediately and offered a tasting menu to pick 5 pours. We were given a brief overview and pens. Jim was fantastic & treated EVERYONE equally.
We made our selections, sadly the malbec isn't going to be ready til 15 July - so, we had to change the game plan. We each picked 5 for 10 total. Then shared our tastes... then added 5 more, cuz the owner came in talking about his recommendations & you can't argue the owner's suggestions.
We left with a bakers dozen of peppery goodness. Then stopped to try the duck & meatballs. Can not speak highly enough of either. Service was also on point.
While nothing was disappointing, the real surprises were the Merlot (not usually a fan) & the Rose (another one I typically avoid) - tho I must admit I was a barrel deep by this point & will revisit when I pop the corks sober... (I once bought a jalepeno apple wine after several other tastes, 100% sure it would make great chili. It did not.)
These were certainly higher in price than the spots catering to the sweet-lovers, but the price point reflected the selection well.

The service was absolutely terrible throughout. We were completely ignored because we are not “wine snobs” and actually needed assistance and wanted to make conversation. Would never ever go back.

Hands down the best winery in door county. If you’re looking for a REAL winery with REAL wine this is the place for you. We can’t express how great this establishment is. A great way to spend time in door county.

My husband and I have been coming to Door County for five years now and this is hands-down our favorite place to kill an afternoon. The wine is the best you’ll find in all of Door County, the atmosphere is upscale and the service is amazing. Russell (the owner) makes you feel like family the moment you enter the wine and tapas bar. The tasting room is a great place to sample the different varieties of carefully cultivated wines to really find the perfect match for your palette. This is our #1 recommended place to visit in Door County and to stock up on wine amazing wines that you will enjoy for months to come.

$14 to taste 5 wines and when I asked what would would match my preferences - there were 2 options. I passed on the tasting and thankfully so since the service was absolutely horrible for the rest of my group. The lady at the tasting bar was rude and completely ignored us. I would never recommend coming here.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Delicious wine. Only 4 stars because the price was a little expensive.

Poor service in both the tasting room and tap room. This has now happened several times. Don't go here many other wineries to choose from. If you don't fit their mold you won't be treated well

Walked into the winery and instantly got SOAKED by the water pouring off the roof. Tried some wine and was NOT impressed. Definitely NOT Door County wine. We specifically went there because they didn't accommodate Bachelorette parties. Walked in SOAKED and first thing we saw was a blasted Bachelorette party. Will NOT be back!!

Was greeted right away when walked in. We are a sweet and semi sweet drinkers. They had only "1" sweet wine and it was a port....so if you like dry wine this a place for you...wished we knew this ahead of time, we would have gone elsewhere.

Pretty grounds, a nice selection of wines and on-site dining make this a nice place to visit. Our wine expert was very knowledgeable, although not very friendly. While they were able to fit our group of 9 in for a tasting, we first had to stand around for a while and wait for an open spot. This was after we called first, asked if we needed a reservation, were told we didn't, then upon entering the tasting room were asked if we had a reservation because they had nothing available. If you plan to go, I highly suggest you call ahead and insist on a reservation. Otherwise be prepared to wait.
