Felt like I was staying in a mountain cabin! Very comfortable and quiet. Registration desk personnel offered recommendations for dinner. My room was clean and overlooked the pool and wedding venue. Nice choices for breakfast the next morning. Enjoyed my stay.

Just had an outstanding interaction with your team and received great help with securing a last minute room associated with a conference. Travel for attendees is always the biggest headache, but dealing with your group has taken away that issue. Many thanks especially to Haylee Thompson for helping us get squared away. I appreciate the assistance. This really stands out. Thank you again!

I am definitely disappointed in this hotel for paying $300 for one night.
First time I tried calling them about my reservation I got hung up on, so I called them back and got a less than friendly rep who told me instead of cancelling my 2nd night (only needed one) to come to the desk Sat morning at 8am (check in on Friday), tell them I didn’t need to stay Sat and wanted a late check out, and that we wouldn’t get charged. I ended up changing my reservation online (because I’m sorry $700 for two nights was not a risk I was taking) and calling again and that rep was much nicer.
The room was disappointing, the wallpaper was peeling, a light was burnt out in the bathroom, the shower head wouldn’t fully turn on, our bathroom door didn’t fully close, the AC had mold in it and our coffee machine was broken.
Wouldn’t recommend staying here.

BED BUGS
Unprofessional Staff as they could care less!
Down right disturbing.
The hotel also lied to expedia and said we were given a different room. We were not.We would never stay in a hotel with bugs, period. We stayed at days inn down the road and have proof. We have time stamped videos, photographs of the bugs, packing, leaving the premises as well as arriving at another hotel. We will be contacting the local health department. Extremely unhealthy environment. We will be checking to make sure this review is posted and stays posted as well.

My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 little kids) we stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days, we ran out of toilet paper and needed new towels. Was told by staffs that their policy required 3 nights of stay to qualified to get new towels and get new roll of toilet paper. When we first checked in, we got half a roll to started with. We had to used napkins to get by. However, the night shift staff was nice enough to gave us some on our last night stayed.

Our stay started with arriving to a full parking lot and was told to park across the street at the hospital. We did find a spot that 2 people parked asinine in but ok fine. Once we got out of the vehicle through the back all 6 of us, and got situated we needed additional pillows and blankets as they were fully booked. When we asked the manager came out and said to us as it was a problem that they were fully booked and our bed comes with 6 pillows and it only had 4 not that is an issue. When we were leaving the front desk the "manager"approached the lady that was helping us and started talking under her breath about ppl who are paying alot for thier stay. We little did she know had reserved 2 rooms so we were paying enough to be treated better than what we were. Very unprofessional. We found out my children had asked for pillows and blankets so we brought ours back down. Not all of the jacuzzi jets worked, the room was very dirty no additional tp,Our fridge didn't get cold,my husband and I had to talk to adults who were drinking in the pool about their mouths towards our kids. Lastly upon departure we had the fun findings of our vehicle damaged by another customer of yours. Note to building management when construction trailers and vehicles are staying with you they should not be allowed to take up 14 spots so they can park. Was very disappointed. Would not recommend

The name stoney creek will make you think it's in the woods but it is actually in the middle of malls, restaurants and grocery stores. To me, it was helpful especially for a family of 5. The rooms, though they are trying to keep things looking like a cabin needs some little upgrades and also proper cleaning like dedicated staffs that love their work. The pool was comfortable but need some finishing touches. Breakfast menu is good but they need to taste the pastries for mold and stale and the milk was tasting strange too.
Cooked menu was a better option and present hot water and coffee was a nice thing.
Above all, we loved our stay and enjoyed the breakfast time too because of the friendly manner of the other customers.

This was my second time staying at Stoney Creek. This time for work. I got in late on a Sunday night, and was greeted by Stephanie at the front desk! She was so pleasant and got me checked in right away.

I got up to my room and it was very clean and cozy. I love the vaulted ceiling on the 3rd floor. It really makes it feel more of a home. Bed was cozy and I slept well. When I need a hotel in the area, this is definitely my go-to spot. Right off interstate which makes traveling super easy.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights during a conference. The facility is large with many different meeting rooms and we enjoyed our stay. Some parts of the building seem "old" but it is clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. We liked the log cabin and bear themes throughout the facility which made our stay seem more like a vacation. I noticed the shower curtain in our room had a musty smell which was a negative but not a show stopper and the mattress on our bed was old and needed to be replaced but I slept great all four nights. The location offers convenient access to the highway and shopping for meals and supplies. All things considered, I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others.

Stoney Creek is a nice hotel. It's not particularly great. It's a nice place, the staff seems pretty nice, and the place is well kept. It would be a really nice place at 60% of the price. It is not special enough at the price point.

Bathtub was covered in very long hair and pubes. Was going to wash it out myself but all the soap hanging in the shower that is supplied for guests was completely empty. I called the front desk and they said no one was able to do anything about it till the morning if I was staying another night. So I had to go buy disinfectant wipes to clean it out myself and bought shampoo since no one could bring me more. Next day I told an employee that just said they'd pass the message along. It was gross cleaning out someone else's hair so my baby could have a bath. The hotel is very nice and I'm sure it was just a lazy maid, but for 500 dollars for two nights I would have atleast expected a cleaner room or staff to atleast fix the issue. I also didn't think to take pictures till after I rinsed most of the pubes out with the shower.

Our stay was perfect. We really loved this hotel. We specially want to mention and thanks to Stephanie and Keaton (Stoney Creek - Onalaska) for their kindness and for their total willingness to help us with a problem we had. They made us feel calm and safe at all times. They are another reason why we would recommend this hotel.

Stay here in February. There was no where near enough parking. Had to park in the hospital parking garage down the street and walk through nearly two feet of snow to get to the hotel, only to find out there was no accesible entrance on that side of the building. Had to walk all the way around the building to the front door through dark, unplowed driveways.

The hotel is built around an open courtyard with an outdoor pool in the center. Every sound made in that pool goes straight up the back of the building. When I checked in, there was a large group of unsupervised preteens screaming and throwing things in the pool. The noise was so loud I could hear the screaming in through my hotel room door before I ever got into my room. I had to call the front desk twice to get them to confront the youths. They took care of the issue, but only after I reported that they were throwing the deck chairs in the pool and holding each other under water and punching each other.

There was also some kind of reunion party occurring IN THE HALLWAY of my floor! A large crowd had set up tables of food and drinks in the hallway. They had beer and other alcoholic beverages in the hallway and were obnoxiously loud, and the crowd made it very difficult to get to my room. Why was this not happening in a designated area?? Never in my life have I seen a hotel allow hallway parties!

The staff at Stoney Creek were great
The parking was horrible
The guest management was also horrible

You should really have security guards for monitoring and controlling guest behavior.

Staff was friendly! Large room for a family of 5 with enough beds for everyone to spread out. Good location. Room appeared clean until closer inspection. Dust around the corners of room where carpet meets the wall, squeaky ceiling fan, bathroom had mold around the ceiling and on wallpaper, shower faucet loose and not secured on wall, grungy pool area with chipping paint. The flower beds outside were all weeds. It was meh fine for a night which is all we stayed. This would be a great hotel if necessary updates and up keep were made. It's worn and showing its age.

Well it's been about a year since we were last here. We always book because they have a nice pool area with a working hot tub... not anymore! I wish they would tell you these things when booking your room. We would have found a different location that has a working hot tub.. I will update the rest of our stay as it happens or sometime tomorrow after checking out. *** update the place has definitely slipped over the past year. Rooms are good. Stopped at the lounge and had a cocktail that was probably the best part of the entire stay. Unfortunately I am seeking a new place to visit. I will miss the STAR WARS pinball!!

We were laying in bed watching a show and I look over and see a bug on my wife’s pillow. I had never seen this type of bug before so I killed it between my fingers and then googled “bed bugs” to hopefully confirm it wasn’t an actual bed bug. Sure enough it was in fact a bed bug. Unquestionably. $hit happens but it was still frustrating to have to pack up at midnight to relocate to another hotel. Why I’m actually sharing this and giving a bad review vs just chalking it up to $hit happens is because the front desk receptionist insulted my intelligence and played the CYA (cover your arse) game and tried to say it wasn’t a bed bug even after her coworker openly confirmed it was. I was trying to not make a big deal out of it but I’m also not dumb as she insinuated. We did check out and hopefully are not getting charged as they stated we wouldn’t.

From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me warmly with a smile (they definitely felt incredibly and genuinely glad to see me!). Their staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. Their kindness and attentiveness made the stay super memorable. The décor made me feel like I was on the North Shore of Minnesota, which happens to be my “happy place,” which made the experience even more endearing. I've been staying here twice a month for about a year for work. The rooms are almost always cleaned perfectly, the breakfast is on point, and the service is friendly and personable. The only real complaint is the constant amount of servicing that needs done for the pool & hot tub - they seem to be down about 30% of the time I'm here, but the pool stretches to outside of the building so I'm assuming heating is a pain.

I’m really disappointed with my stay at Stoney Creek. I had to travel out of town for work and was looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay as it was just a short, one night stay. First, the pool and hot tub were both closed. Which would have been a deal breaker for me originally, had I known, as I chose this hotel over another due to the hot tub as I looked forward to relaxing in it after my long work day, followed by a 3 hours drive. I was also disappointed with the cleanliness of the room, as there was dark black hairs everywhere from the bed to the bathroom. I also had a neighbor above me, whose TV I could hear and who sounded like was stomping even with the hotel room’s fan and a personal fan I brought, running. After finally falling asleep much later than I had hoped, due to the noise around me, the fire alarm BLARES at 1:45AM not once, but 2 separate times, when mind you, I have a very early and long day of work ahead. I was very upset as this surly woke up even the deepest of sleepers in the hotel during my stay, not to mention the absolute panic and fright it caused me to wake up from a deep sleep in a strange place, thinking there was a fire. I quickly put on my shoes to run down to the front desk to see what was going on to which the receptionist responded “It’s a false alarm” as 2 other guest also walked toward her to see what was going on. I said “oh? okay. Well, I’m not upset with you, I know it’s not your fault but that is really unacceptable.” And she said “I turned it off. I just work here from 11pm-7am” and I said “okay. Is the alarm going to go off again?” And she said “I’m not sure, but there’s nothing I can do about it if it does” In a very rude tone. I understand she is just an employee here and it was a false fire alarm, but this is absolutely unacceptable and her tone/ response was not appreciated. I am so extremely disappointed as I was willing to look past the other flaws I felt this place had, but the fire alarm and the poor customer service was my last straw. I would not ever stay here again and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone passing by.

I loved the room, my daughter took me there to celebrate my birthday.
We had a beautiful 3 days there. With a hot tub in the room.
We went to the bar a couple of times and just spent time with each other.

Opposite of Pet-Friendly:
We left our dogs in our car (50° and nighttime) while over at Target, and the police broke into our car and damaged it then impounded our dogs. We then had to wait until 1:00PM the next day to recover them. We immediately checked out of this hotel (about 9:00PM). They said that they'd refund us after requesting it, but we were charged the following Monday for $239.00. They then claimed we didn't check out until 2:00AM. At least we were able to convince them to reverse that charge.

I wouldn't stay at this hotel if you have pets. This was a horrible experience for us and our dogs, and we will probably never visit the La Crosse area or Stony Creek Hotels again.

I recommend staying at Stay Suites a quarter mile away. It was half the price (for a pretty nice suite at that.)

I've worked with the good folks at Stoney Creek in Onalaska for several large gatherings. Over the years, our 140 participants have consistently rated the service and hospitality of the staff as excellent. I've had nothing but outstanding interactions with them, and I look forward to working with them again in the future.

Rooms were fairly clean but very out dated. The entire hotel is in need of a good update and thorough cleaning. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

We loved this hotel, we came down for a wedding and we wanted a ground level room so we could park our electric bikes inside, they were very accommodating. The staff at the front desk was very friendly. We loved the whole cabin theme, at one point they had the fire place going outside so we sat out in front of that for the cool morning. This is the perfect hotel location, you are within close distance of everything you need store and food wise, a good walking trail and near a part of the Great River state trail, such a pretty area . The hotel has a basement bar which was super fun, we had some drinks about $4 a beer played pool, talked with other hotel stayers, the bar tender was so nice, and the bar food was pretty good! Our room was clean and spacious, take note they only clean the rooms after the 3rd night so you have to ask for more towels. I do wish they had more plug ins and maybe a larger T.V that I could connect my Netflix to, I’ve seen some hotels like that and I like that concept. The breakfast was pretty good, the normal eggs, sausage, pancakes, it was free so can’t complain. We would definitely stay here again.

I always like finding hotels like this, this was highly recommended. Not the typical 'M's or 'H's that I stay in and a pleasant change. Larger than normal mini fridge. Microwave. Bar/tavern. Comfy size rooms with cabin accents everywhere. Free breakfast... can go wrong.

I stayed here for three nights for a family reunion. Check-in was fast and easy even when I arrived at this hotel at 2:30 A.M. Upon entering the hotel I loved the Northwoods themed decor and my room's proximity to the ice maker on the 3rd floor. The beds were really comfortable, not too firm or not to soft as were the pillows. Breakfast wise the breakfast spread was pretty decent, I especially liked how they had a flapjack maker which I like over the more common Belgian waffle irons since they take less time to cook. Of course the biggest draw for me and choosing this hotel was the indoor/outdoor swimming pool area. The swimming pool was the only thing that was indoor/outdoor and was really decent, the hot tub on the other hand was indoor only and was absolutely enormous. It was so large you could really almost call it a second swimming pool especially since at one end the hot tub was 2 feet 8 inches deep and went down to 3 feet deep, whereas the indoor/outdoor swimming pool only went down to 5 feet deep in the middle where the pool narrows to near the wall between the indoor section and outdoor sections. In general I really liked this hotel, It is a hotel that is wildly different (some pun intended.) from the more boring boxes off the freeway in Onalaska. I will definitely be back again.

This place is in desperate need of a remodel. We had a pretty large, king room with a jetted tub. First of all, the lighting is bad. Maybe this is part of the theme, which is fine if you don’t have to put makeup on. Next, there is a small 19” TV in this large room. In addition, there is no sound proofing. Finally the bed is so springy, it shook a lot every time one of us barely moved. With the $200/ night price, I won’t be staying here again unless they update it.

Make sure to check your bed and room for bed bugs! We were really excited about our stay here for a wedding but we only got to stay for about 6 hours before getting devoured by bed bugs and leaving. We came in at 11pm after a 5 hr drive and I woke up at 4:30 in the morning with bites ALL OVER my body and after searching the bed, I found multiple bed bugs as well as one on the wall. The one staff person at the front desk was helpful and apologetic and comped our room and offered to move us to another room but the varying sizes of the bugs as well as them crawling on the wall made me feel that that they’ve been there for awhile and I wasn’t gonna risk it.
I’m just glad I’m allergic to bug bites so I had an almost immediate reaction to them and we were able to leave quickly, my partner’s bites didn’t show up for another 36 hours!

We had a one-night stay as part of a family road trip around Minnesota and western Wisconsin. We previously lived in the La Crosse area and always heard great things about Stoney Creek, so we were excited to stay here. ||Overall, we were extremely disappointed and frankly, parts of the property and our room could only be described as gross. Our two-bed room on the lower level had mold on the ceiling, peeling wallpaper, and a musty smell. The bathroom door would not close unless you put your shoulder into it. The room felt very damp.||The kids were excited for the pool - the pool area was absolutely disgusting. It’s an “indoor-outdoor pool,” but the indoor pool area had large spiders all over the walls, and there were three frogs and all sorts of bugs swimming around the indoor part of the pool (we rescued the frogs and put them outside). The water felt slimy and clearly is not being treated at appropriate levels if frogs were swimming around living their best life. ||At checkout, we were not even asked how our stay was. It is very clear maintenance/upkeep is not a priority here. Even outside, all of the landscaping is overrun with weeds. For $210 for one night, this was an awful experience. We would not return.

We chose this location in the area after a long drive for my children to use the pool based on reviews and pictures. There was no indication online that the pool was closed & no mention to me upon checking in. After I checked in my daughter noticed a small sign sitting on the front desk, stating the pool was currently closed. I asked 5 to 10 minutes later if we could please be refunded as I was able to find a nearby hotel with a pool open. The front desk stated she needed to contact her manager and came back less than a minute later and stated they were refusing to refund our room because because I had checked in. once we entered the room, we noticed there was significant water damage near the ceiling down the wall with mold present and it smelled. We were relocated very quickly, but the entire third floor smelt damp. The decor in the hotel was nice, the breakfast was good. They also do not provide any toiletries if forgotten- I forgot toothpaste and was directed to buy a $3 travel set from the convenience area. I would Not choose to stay here again.

Got a call Friday night before our stay saying pool and hot tub will be closed. When I got to hotel I asked for an upgrade to hot tub room since the main one and pool were closed. The rooms were close to 250.00 per night this past weekend. First, the Tv is about 32 inches and is clear across the room. We got back later than expected from boat cruise and were exhausted. Very limited parking and we did find one handicapped spot left and we took it as we have handicap tag. Shower in the morning, open the curtain only to find a huge clump.of hair stuck to the wall of the seat in the shower. Dead mosquitos all over the room and lounge chair was beyond used. The cushion was shoved down the side as soon as you sat in it. Wall paper and ceiling peeling throughout the room. All this and they only took 15% off. Said that was all she could do. Maybe dont charge 250.00 for a room in this condition. Went to leave and someone parked about 6 inches from the driver side of our truck in the lined off area next to the handicaped spot. I went in to see if they could help us and they said sorry, parking is limited. We had to crawl in passenger side...we most likely would not stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful. Room is beautiful. But it smells like sewer. Ugh. I’ll be here for 6 nights and my room smells like sewer. Staff is great. Bar was great except for the carpet around the pool table, it was heavy wet like water was underneath carpet or an ac leaked on it… alot.. not sure what the problem was but it wasn’t appealing. Breakfast was ok. Actually the pancakes tasted delicious. The place over all is beautiful but it could use some fixing here and there.

TOO MANY KIDS!! We were unable to use the pool due to several kids parties. Kids running up and down the hallway. Tried to have a drink in the bar and the air conditioning was blasting. The music was LOUD and the vibe was uncomfortable. Room was ok, but I would never stay here again.

The room (King Jacuzzi Suite) was spacious, comfortable, clean, relaxing and perfect for our weekend getaway! Food was subpar as most hotels are nowadays, but a Perkins down the street remedied that problem. 5 stars would have been given if food was actually edible. Milk was sour and turned, cereal was stale, eggs were watery powder, french toast was frozen after 2 attempts at toasting, but service personnel were friendly!

Booked a room for a weekend getaway for husband and me, was planning on paying cash when we arrived, gave our card to reserve room on Expedia, upon arrival I noticed the entrance doors were filthy, bad first impressions 🥺,we tried to check in the unfriendly young desk clerk said we needed to give her our credit card again and it would hold on the card until we checked out and paid cash, so I gave her my card, she tried 4 times and said it was declined, ok, well we are getting tired at this point so my husband gives her his card, it does the same thing, so we had to leave and find another room elsewhere that had no problem with our cards. Today my husband sees a $200 charge on his card that "wouldn't go through" not to mention the 4 times she ran my card theres a $1 charge each time. She was rude and not helpful and what is actually going on there? Both of our cards work perfectly, obviously I used mine next door and they magically took money from my husband's card, now the fight to get a refund begins on Monday.. UGHHHH
