Freshness -10, service -20, atmosphere -10. Walked in and every table had crumbs on it. The time we went was not busy. Only one person ahead of us. Not a subway fan but family wanted a quick and easy bite. Personally, I would rather have gone to cozy coffee or Mike’s sandwiches. We had coupon with our order. We had planned to pay separately so we could each use our coupons since the manager had a harsh rule about combining them with each paid order. Regardless if there were multiple meals within that order. The lady saw all of come into together. She accepted one of the coupon and rejected the rest. She told us since we all are together, we cannot each use a coupon with our meals. Her tone of voice was not professional. We suggested to pay separately and refused to honor that idea. We didn’t want to waste anymore time arguing with this lady and left. If management continues to treat local loyal customers like this, they will go out of business down the road.
In the past, I have witness their employees arguing with each other and treating each other disrespectful in front of the customers. In one occasion, a staff was complaining about corporate not staffing appropriately.
Overall, unprofessional customer service. Instead of accommodating customers and earning their loyalty, they care too much about pinching penny. Management need to train their staff to treat each other with professionalism and respect. Any sort of disagreement should be done behind the scene and not in front of customer. Management need to take better care of their workers and staff appropriately to prevent disgruntled workers. It’s awkward to listen to their complaints when we just want our sandwich and go about our business. I recommend this place to do better if they want to earn the trust and loyalty of the locals. Unfortunately, they lost us as customers.

HOLMEN SUBWAY REFUSES TO HONOR NATIONAL COMMERCIAL PROMOS OR LOCAL NEWSPAPER COUPONS!!! I'm not talking about the 3 most expensive sandwiches like "The Beast" that are understandably excluded in the fine print on the physical coupon itself. Basic sandwiches like steak and chicken are excluded according to them...
THEY POSTED A SIGN SHOWING THE HANDFUL OF KINDS THEY "ALLOW" THE COUPONS TO BE USED FOR! What a joke! THE LIST THEY ALLOW IS SHORTER THAN THE LIST OF EXCLUSIONS!!! BASICALLY THE WHOLE MENU!
It's ridiculous to see nationwide commercial promos and receive local printed coupons in the mail, but the 1 franchisee of all La Crosse area Subways decides they are too cheap to honor it.

THE EMPLOYEE TIM COMPLAINED TO THE CUSTOMERS WHILE MAKING THEIR SANDWICH THAT "SUBWAY BREAD HAS SO MUCH SUGAR IN IT THAT IT WOULD BE BANNED IN EUROPE AND BASICALLY SHOULDN'T BE CATEGORIZED AS GRAIN BREAD..." Dude, could you actively try any harder to drive away customers than to tell them it's not healthy?? Isn't Subway trying to be portrayed as the healthier option?? Tim's attitude is terrible on multiple occasions. The older lady on Sundays yells at everyone, too.
The latest level of stupidity at the Holmen Subway is when they posted this short list of 9 "allowable sandwiches for coupons" on the drive-through ordering screen it says "Please present coupons BEFORE you start to order." UMM, HOW CAN I PRESENT THE COUPON ON THE DRIVE-THROUGH BEFORE ORDERING? DRIVE AROUND TWICE?!!? I hit the help button and the employee told me to just come to pickup window. I asked how I could possibly present the coupon before ordering and they said, "Yeah we dont know." She just wrote out my order on paper with pencil.
We all get inflation, but $13 for 1 footlong sandwich only, is crazy! That's not even a combo meal with chips or a drink!
NATIONAL SUBWAY PROMOS ARE ADVERTISING $7.99 FOOTLONGS OR BUY ONE GET ONE FREE!!! PEOPLE EXPECT TO USE THE COUPONS TO BRING THE PRICES BACK TO REALITY!! THESE ARE TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES!

Never answer the phone when you call, even if you repeatedly try. I received someone else’s order in my bag instead of my own online order. Didn’t have time to go back to the restaurant so I had someone else’s dinner and no refund. This Subway could clearly use better employees. Nobody here seems to care about doing their job. Fantastic service at the Midway Subway, however.

Man behind the counter was being rude to the obviously training employee, I asked the man behind the counter to remove some tomatoes that didn’t look very edible, and he told me that it shouldn’t be a big deal because he would eat them over all horrible experience hopefully they will fix their ways.

I ordered my usual at the drive thru, the girl at the window was so lovely. I loved the service but they ended up messing something up on my order, i gave the store a call and let them know, they offered to remake it for me. I got there and it was done and perfect, they denied me when I tried to pay for my remake tho. The customer service here was amazing, absolutely no complaints.

Everyone here is just so great at their job! They're courteous, quick, and always work to ensure everything is up to the highest standards. Everyone wears masks, which is important right now, but no one seems bothered. It hasn't cut down on their ability to deliver top-notch service at all times.

This location really needs to step up their game. I keep giving them a chance as there are so few options in Holmen and I’m nearly always disappointed. Between staff that is at best unfriendly and often outright rude, to drive thru orders that are completely wrong, to consistently being out of standard sandwiches - this place needs an overhaul. I stopped on a Saturday well before closing and used the drive thru (paid at the menu), only to be told at the window that they are completely out of bread and can only use flatbread. Also out of the main meat for another sandwich. The attitude from one of the employees was again, outright rude. Saving grace was the that the other employee seemed embarrassed. This Subway is a joke - steer clear and choose any other location. Or better yet, choose any other restaurant.

Good food, not a bad price, pretty good service. They dont carry some of the toppings they used to and some of the workers we have had are not fully trained it seems. They didnt know what a few things were that we asked for. They may have just been new, I know subway has been hiring lately, but there should have been a more experienced person there then.

This is the literal slowest drive thru ever. Usually I’m not in a hurry because I know it’s slow so normally I’m okay waiting 12-20 minutes because they order is usually correct. Yesterday they forgot to put cheese on my sub and didn’t toast it and I didn’t notice until I got home. Oh well, they were busy. The food is usually good, just don’t expect it quickly.

Super slow drive thru,, expect to wait at a minimum 15 mins. This has happened MANY times, I don't order anything special or complicated, not sure why it takes so long but if you're in a hurry I suggest you go elsewhere, but the food is usually good! Unless they run out of bread.
