Literally WORST subway EVER!! Went in there to get two sandwiches from a coupon and the man said we couldn’t use the coupon then said we can and then when he was making the sandwiches there was NO EFFORT in putting meat and veggies and sauce on the sandwiches and I was just done after that and asked for a refund and the man didn’t at first and was trying to argue with us, but then gave the refund. That subway freaking sucks, the employees suck, literally horrible

Only rating one star because I can’t rate zero. They had me pay before they made my sandwich. Then, put all the lettuce they had in the store on my sandwich, then put 4 singular onion slices on the sandwich, and about 6 black olives. At this point I lost my appetite and asked for a refund to which i was told they don’t give refunds. I left, then turned back around and asked several more times until they finally refunded me (which apparently wasn’t possible five minutes ago). If you like lettuce sandwiches this is the place for you. If you are a human being go anywhere else.

When we first came in, we went in line. We ordered 3 sandwiches and it took a total of 5 minutes.
The service was acceptable, not mind blowing but still respectable. I got the cheesy garlic steak. It was average, I would have it again but wouldn't be dying to have it. They had plenty of sandwich options and the tables

What a joke. Why I went here, I have no idea. I just wanted a cheesesteak sub. The guy tried to wrap it up with no steak and didn't understand that I wanted steak. Mgr refused to put the cheddar cheese sauce on my sub, like I ordered online shown on receipt, without me paying for extra cheese, and then forgot to toast my sub a 2nd time after veggies because he was so focused on charging me extra and ignoring the prepaid receipt. The eggs weren't even toasted enough and were still cold. None of the staff was polite. I'll tip in person next time depending.

This Subway location has become my go-to spot while waiting for the bus on Main Street. The sandwich artist who works here is consistently pleasant and helpful, always greeting customers with a smile and patiently walking through the many topping options. I especially appreciate how they're generous with the vegetables and never rush through the preparation process, even during busy lunch hours.

The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, and its location right by the bus stop makes it perfect for grabbing a quick meal during my commute. The indoor seating area provides a comfortable place to wait for the next bus, especially during Wisconsin's colder months.

I've visited many Subway locations, but the friendly service and convenient location make this one stand out. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in downtown Madison!

I like Subway well enough. This establishment has a good crew, and good sandwiches. I've been working on the square for over a decade and occasionally drop by for a sub.

What I don't like about this Subway is the ownership. For an alarming amount of time now, both wall-mounted AC units (strange to begin with) have been broken. Ceiling tiles are missing for some reason. Worst of all, ownership has jury-rigged moisture wicks *made out of packing tape* which hang into moisture collection buckets. it is easily over 80 degrees inside that store.

One of these 7 foot long "packing tape moisture wicks" hangs right in front of the order counter.

I have refused to actually eat there since this occurred. It's been at least two weeks since the AC units broke, if not three. This is embarrassing, vile, disgusting, and potentially hazardous to public health.

To the owner of this restaurant: get your act together. Stop being lazy, cheap and neglectful and fix the absolutely alarming state of your franchise. Just beyond gross. You should consider actually doing something about this soon, as I have already reached out to the city to have a health inspector visit your vile, neglected store.

Pretty much a Hole in the Wall, bigger than Jimmy John's when it comes to internal space, but they try to cram it full of seating, so it makes it more cramped than it actually is. It's pretty much a standard Subway with the exception that it has a Television with the national news on inside.

I usually only order from Subway is because of the chocolate chip cookies. Not any other flavor because they’re all subpar. Every other time I order from this location they never have any chocolate chip cookies. And instead of refunding my money to me or calling me to inform me of the situation. Do not order one of the newer subs that come with extra meat or cheese. If it comes with double cheese, you will barely get the regular amount. If you order a sandwich with multiple types of meat, they will leave one out.

Earlier today, I went in to get a sandwich but the service was almost slow enough to make me leave and go somewhere else. It was lunchtime on a warm and sunny Saturday, entering summer time, and capitol square was completely flooded with people exploring/shopping through the farmer's market stands. Tons of families, tons of friends and couples, and just a ridiculous amount of people on capitol square earlier today. And this location only had one employee behind the counter, trying to juggle online orders as well as people making their orders in person. Two people in front of me left because of how slow it was and I almost did too, the only reason I didn't was because I promised a sandwich to a panhandler. I don't blame the girl behind the counter, just the fact that they were severely under-staffed for the farmers market, which is well known and predictable. I almost thought of telling the people at the back of the line to not waste their time

This place is a joke. We had to tell her everything that went on our samwhiches, and she barely put anything on either of them it took well over 15 for 2 easy simple footloose. The ingredients did not look fresh at all. The staff, especially Olivia, does an exceptional job and is always kind and warm hearted. Downtown Madison has a lot of good food to offer but if you’re in a pinch or hurry make sure to stop by this location.

Some of the workers make the sandwiches pretty sloppy... Lots of time the lettuce is brown as well. I work nearby so I go to this subway often. There's one guy who seems to have been working there for awhile who's excellent (I believe his name is Eric) -- besides him though, most of the workers don't seem to have proper training or the restaurant is understaffed.

This was my first and last visit to this location. I ordered a footlong meatball sub. The sandwich maker asked if I wanted it toasted, I said "no, thank you"; she then said under her breath, "whatever you say, sir."
I noted the tone in her voice sounded a tad bit malicious, but assumed she was having a rough day.
The next person added my peppers, cut and wrapped my sandwich, and I paid and sat down.
The meatballs and sauce were cold. Fresh-out-of-the-fridge cold. Had anyone mentioned that at all, I would've ordered a different sandwich. I'm still not sure why the prepper's tone was so sinister, because toasting that sub would not have heated the meatballs or the sauce enough to disguise how cold it was.
I normally have great experiences at Subway, but this downtown location will stick in my mind forever.
I was in a rush and couldn't have another sandwich made, so I wolfed down a downright disgusting cold meatball sub and decided I'd just never go back to that particular location. 1 star experience.
Two other locations I've visited since have provided excellent service and normal Subway-quality sandwiches.
Drink machine is open to the dining room and the bathrooms were clean, so +1 star.

Third time I've visited, each time was a little more disappointed. Today I got a seafood sensation. Only got three scoops of meat instead of 4 and was handed my sub twice by two different people who thought my sub was a online order. Almost walked out of the shop with a free sub. What makes that worse is that they shredded the online order so someone is not getting their sub when they get there. Avoid this place if you can or bring lunch from home!

For a casual day, I don't mind to have a sandwich. I have been to a Subway and different fast-food. This is not one of them you'd want to try, especially at lunch hour. You'd be lucky to even find a seat there. The store is considerably small for the number of people they have to serve. However, the service is fast. They just don't clean the table much. A couple of the fountains ran out of syrup. The food was so-so. For a quick bite at that price range, it is ok. I'd recommend breakfast sandwich over their daily special.

Service is spotty at best. This store seems to have constant turnover and to be hiring new employees from the bottom of the barrel. There are only a few employees that consistently provide exactly what is ordered with relative efficiency. Soda fountains were missing/short on syrup, tables were a mess. Very poor customer service. We arrived and one worker was standing in the back not doing anything and the other was on his cell phone for a good 3 minutes before he helped us. He was so bad he asked me 3 times if I wanted my sub toasted, he messed up my sub once, asked what kind of cheese I wanted twice. After he cut my bread he stopped to have a solid 1 minute conversation with the guy in back before continuing with my sub. The staff was EXCELLENT. I want to say the sandwich artist's name was Juan, but I cannot be sure. (This was 4/1/16 around 3:45pm.) He was so friendly and pleasant and he put way more meat and veggies on my sandwich than they do at other Subway restaurants.
