Ordered the sweet and sour chicken lunch special to go-I guess u should have e asked if they put the sauce on the side like I like it or not but more places do so I didn’t think to ask, chicken was smothered in so much sauce by the time I got home it was no longer crunchy chicken which really made me sad, especially cuz I really only like a small amount of the sauce like a dip. Fried rice was just ok, nice it had eggs in it but didn’t seem lukewarm fresh rice, looks reheated. I ate it but was also kinda sad doing so. Did include spook and fork with my order which was nice but no napkins. Live and learn I guess next time I know to ask for certain things. Guy seemed nice and food was done quickly.

The buffet was horrible. The food had been sitting there for hours. It was dried out and inedible. This wasn't at an off time but right at peak supper time. The couple egg rolls and potstickers that were out were all dried up in a separate case and stone cold. Luckily they just let us leave. Maybe their made to order food is better? Stopped by for a quick bite to go was very fast and food was hot! They make everything fresh to order. The crab Rangoons were so fresh I don’t think I’ve ever had fresh hand made ones in years and the sweet and sour sauce was hand made there too! I ended up going again the next day!

Vegetarian egg fu young cooked in shrimp oil, no air conditioning - sweat poured off us and owner was rude when my husband asked if there was a problem with A.C. Where to start? First of all they advertise that they're a Buffet, there's a big sign on the roof BUFFET... however they only serve a buffet on Saturdays. Wife and I pulled in to the Dells Friday after an 11 hour drive (we'd done our homework for our vacation and Chinese buffet was on the list right after checking in to our hotel) so sorry come back tomorrow. We ate at Denny's.

Tomorrow came and we went to the buffet, OMFG it was like 90 degrees in the restaurant, the buffet was $19.00 each, (oh well this is a tourist town everything is expensive) the food would have to stand on a ladder just to get a glimpse of mediocre, and there wasn't a big variety. This was by far the worst Chinese food I've eaten.

The staff was cordial but that doesn't make up for such a rotten experience.

I don't give many negative reviews but this was a truly disappointing meal. We ate here based on reviews we read but should have walked out after looking at the buffet. We arrived at 5:00 pm and the food on the buffet was very old and stale - dried up.
The restaurant quickly got busy (at least 20 people within about 20 minutes) and we expected the items to be replenished quickly but this wasn't the case. Other than the Heavenly Chicken (which lived up to its name) and the butter potatoes, the rest of the food was poor quality. Neither the egg rolls nor the pepper chicken were refilled during our time there, even though we asked and sweet and sour chicken was mushy.
I wish I would have taken pictures or went with my gut and just left before we ordered. Unfortunately, it's a place we would not try again.

I’ve eaten here several times when visiting the Dells. I’ve eaten at many different Chinese restaurants in my life and have had some very good food at a number of them. I’m going to give Sunny Asian a C for food quality. I think they need a new chef. I noticed a lot of people eating here so I hope they enjoyed their food more than I did. It was also probably the most expensive Chinese buffet I’ve been to so there’s no excuse for not serving top quality food. I could not eat the Crab Rangoon, it was thick and tough. The broccoli in the beef with broccoli was strangely soggy. The sweet and sour chicken was dry, tough and bland.

Super good service , the dishes were all fresh a good variety of different foods, including muscles, sushi three different noodle dishes, four different chicken dishes, all of which piping hot really good flavor. Our server was a 10 out of 10 never let our drinks go low took plates immediately cannot wait to come back just to eat here. Made my daughter’s sweet 16 very memorable with a gift.

One if THE WORST places I've ever been. I love local and hole in the wall kinda places, so we thought we'd give this a try. Lunch buffet ends at 2pm then it's dinner. It is $20/person PLUS they tried to change FULL PRICE for a 9 month old that wouldn't eat!! They said since she sits at the table, she pays! WHAAAAT!!?? So upon our extreme disappointment there is hardly ANY FOOD to choose from. And the sushi? There was 5 types at most. Any other you have to pay menu price for. The food was inedible. I actually left after only a couple of bites. The food was not only very cold but mushy (the lo mein) and hard/crunchy (the rice). I had high hopes for this place but I can only tell you to not risk it and come here. You will regret it just as much as we did!

Went for my birthday wanting sushi. This place was amazing. Food is excellent. Super fast service. Had 2 sushi rolls and fried rice and was such big servings. I even got a birthday treat for dessert. Sunny the owner was there too. He was so sweet.

Worst buffet ever. I should have read reviews before going, but my nephew wanted Chinese so we ended up here. There was no air conditioning which caused me even more concern about the safety of sushi items on the buffet. The ice cream was the only edible food in the joint. Crab Rangoon filling was reminiscent of cream cheese flavored dust. The fried shrimp were greasy and somehow floppy which was unsettling. All chicken was stringy and nasty. All this unappealing garbage for the bargain price of 19.99 per person ( beverage not included) . And because we had a group of 8, our bill included 15% gratuity. I'm certain the clientele of this restaurant are all first timers because nobody would come back for more of this trash. My nephew is now relieved of his restaurant choosing responsibilities and I am hoping we all make it through the night without foodborne illness.

Before walking in worker was smoking at the door. Restaurant entrance was dirty. Sushi area was dingy. Got token to the middle section by the food and there is small sushi area nugget and fry area, salad bar was filthy, 2 food lanes, everything was cold, only take out food if large amounts of people came, Which they where. I think they hold the food too long so when they put it out it’s old. Think its owners request to do that. The quality was bad. Some stuff wasn’t too bad. The shrimp is what I had, noodles, and sushi, and crab Rangoon’s. But again they have to hold the food in the back unless people come. We all got the runs after. For a party of 5 we paid $140 drinks and 2 beers. We were looking for sushi.

Great variety of food, clean and spacious environment, wonderful service. Must be accessed via the frontage road, so unfortunate people may miss this delicious eating experience if on main road that goes direct to to thruway. Look for the restaurant... its worth it!! (There is also a 10% discount for locals.)

Came on a Sunday night at 6pm. Very light crowd. I must start this review by saying that I am somewhat of a Chinese buffet connoisseur. I love Chinese buffet. I go to a Chinese buffet in every town I’m in, and everywhere I visit so I literally am somewhat of an expert on what Chinese buffet should be. For the price of $20 an adult, the food was very underwhelming. Standard four island options one typical Jell-O dessert options one of them being a small sushi option. Eight of the 24 options in the two remaining islands, were not even Chinese food. Eggrolls and chicken nuggets were not even on the island, but rather in a warming case similar to something you’d find in a McDonald’s and then as expected everything in the case was very dried out.
The biggest kicker was that with a $20 price tag doesn’t even include a drink which would be an additional three dollars. Needless to say my family drink water.
The food was OK, but just OK. The only thing that was good was the rice.
With my family of six our ticket was $100 and so I was very disappointed.
One final kick in the pants on our way out the door, but they have a sign that says a 15% gratuity is automatically added to any group of five or more of which my family counts.

Comida de muy mala calidad. A diferencia de los otros buffet que he entrado. La verdad nada estaba bueno, nada de nada. Comida sin sabor, comida fría, comida ya casi para dañarse con mal sabor. Hubieron varias cosas que quise probar pero estaba mala, mi hijo casi no comió porque no hay comida para niños. Aunado a eso quiso comer gelatina y está dañada, quiso comer naranja y estaba dañada igual. Y para completar el precio muy alto y te cobran la bebida también. Se gasta aproximadamente 25$ por persona en los otros Buffe gastas 16 a 18 por personas y sales contento.

I ordered delivery orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken and sushi. The sushi was delivered in the same bag as the hot food, the fish on the sushi was warm and not appealing. The chicken dishes were pretty good.

It's super delicious. It has the taste of home. Especially the ribs, they are tender and fall off the bone, sticky and chewy. The fried noodles and fried rice are amazing and very tasty. The buffet price is very reasonable.

Please, please, please do not give this place your business. Not only is the food awful, but their attitude is. The way the owner treated the staff while we were there was horrendous and totally disgusting. There was 2 young kids, looked to be J1 students coming to pick up their pay, but she refused screaming and said if they wanted to get paid for yesterday that had to stay all night to clean, after working their day job. The poor girl looked like she was about to cry. They politely refused to saying they were so sorry and just very tired. All of her words had no concern for how they felt. She continued to make them sit there for at least the hour that I was there and wait around on her to hopefully get paid. I still don’t know if those poor kids got their pay. And no, I do not know the entire story, but the fact is she treated them like they were absolute nobody’s. You should never treat your staff as such in a public setting nor in private. All I can say is as a small business in the dells just know word gets around and I hope this place gets shut down. I’ll be filing a formal complaint to the labor force. Do not waste your time and money on someone like her.

Please believe me when I say I give every restaurant the best review possible. I worked in restaurants for over 3 decades, this place was by far the worst place I've ever experienced. Not only was the food on the buffet old and frigid, you could tell everything came out of a box. Nothing was fresh or authentic. I could only stomach one trip to this all you can eat buffet. I could not finish my one small plate and they still charged me full price! But my biggest complaint - THE SERVER WAS WEARING OLD TORE UP SLIDES WITH NO SOCKS AND I HAD TO LOOK AT HIS CRUSTY FEET PASSING BY THE TABLE THE ENTIRE TIME! This cannot be sanitary by any means and if the food didn't make me lose my appetite, the sight of his crusty unwashed feet did! I can't believe this place has the nerve to charge what they do for generic microwave Asian cuisine. So disappointed, they don't even deserve the 1 star I had to give them.

Awful! They only have 3 small tables with food and the food is disgusting. The only edible thing was the fried rice and vanilla ice cream. Even my kids wouldn't eat the strawberry ice cream. The crab rangoons weren't cooked all the way, the "scallops"are white fish, and several types of chicken were like rocks.

First time and last time here. They had terrible food and service, this place has to be the worst Chinese buffet I've ever had. To start, the place had no A/C and all you smell is burnt oil which is exactly how the chicken tastes, like they used the same grease to cook in for a week without changing. All the food was bland for the minimum options they have, It took 20 minutes just to get our drinks and another 10 just for napkins. I dont know if some of these reviews are fake but theres no way someone in their right mind would give this place more than 1 star. Do not recommend. Plenty of other options in the dells and you'd actually get something worth the money you're spending.

I don’t think I’ve ever met people this nice….ever. Everyone who works there is absolutely lovely to be around. Gave my kids a sample of the California roll before I bought them (was so embarrassed when they asked but she insisted it was fine). They were so busy but handled everything with grace. The food…AMAZING and I love my Chinese food so my palate is diverse. 10/10 recommend! I saw a comment about the buffet only being Saturdays…that might have been an off season thing but it’s open always (according to when I went in and asked). 😀

We visited Sunny’s as a group of 10 and overall had a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, and it was spacious enough to accommodate our group comfortably. The general buffet offerings were decent, with a variety of hot dishes that kept most of us satisfied.

That said, I’d recommend that the restaurant pay more attention to restocking and presentation, especially at the sushi bar. Throughout our time there, it was almost always empty, offering just one or two plates with very limited sushi selection. This was disappointing, particularly since sushi was one of the highlights we looked forward to.

Also, it would enhance the dining experience if empty trays and plates were cleared or replenished more promptly. While the food we did get to try was fine, it felt like the buffet wasn’t being managed as attentively as it should be, especially during busy hours.

Overall, Sunny’s has potential and offers a good option for a group meal, but with some improvements in variety, freshness, and service attention, it could become a more reliable stop in Wisconsin Dells.

Sunny Asian Gourmet offers an okay experience, but a few aspects hold it back from a higher rating. We were seated immediately, which was great, though we did observe subsequent customers waiting about 10 minutes. I went in starving and ready to cure my munchies, but the food itself was generally "okay" at best, and honestly, much of it didn't look appetizing. I barely managed to eat a half-full plate because of this, and unfortunately, some items were cold by the time we got back to our table, which was disappointing.

My meal ended up being mostly fruit and a tiny side of icecream. I will give them credit: the green melon was delicious, and of course, the ice cream was good. However, this brings me to the main issue: the pricing. Compared to other Chinese buffets I've visited, the cost here felt quite high for the selection of food. With a base price of $20, plus an additional $4 for drinks and a mandatory $4 tip, it quickly added up to over $30 per person with all fees and for what amounted to very little actual buffet food. Given that we frequent the Dells for large family trips this was a definite drawback and simply not worth the cost. The cheapest bill was 26$ and that was only bc one of us had gotten away water.

On a positive note, the service was good, with one standout employee who truly went above and beyond. Noticing our interest in ice cream and seeing only one empty bucket, they thoughtfully brought out three fresh buckets of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. That was a really nice touch and the highlight of our visit. We had high hopes for this place given its good reviews, especially coming from Chicago where our local Chinese restaurants are good and resonably priced for the slection and quality of the food, but overall, it was just an average experience and we likely won't be returning.
