Older, small place that was a little rundown. Kitchen must have been slammed by carry out / ride share orders because about 20 orders came out while we were waiting for our food. Pho was a little sweet but a giant portion for the regular size. Vermicelli lemongrass chicken was very good. Good but not great. Parking was very difficult.

THE PEANUT SAUCE IS TO DIE FOR!!! It is the best one I ever had before I ate every drop with my spring rolls. The pho is a big portion for a regular size full of extra toppings and keeps you full. The mango boba was alright I’m not complaining for the price but the boba pearls weren’t the best. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place and the service is fast/friendly! It is very quiet in there so I would take a friend or two to chat. 💜

The pho here is pretty average, but you can also get a giant bowl for a very reasonable price.

They don't you a tiny, sad excuse for toppings either, which is typical of Madison area pho, so this place is pretty solid in my book.

It's a small, usually quiet place, which can be a big plus for many customers.

I called and spoke to someone to place 1 order of shrimp drunken noodle, I drive 15 mins to go pick it up and when I get there they told me I didn't call and I showed the cashier the number on Google maps I called she said nope I didn't call so they didn't make the food.

This is the second time I called to for take out and have issues getting the food I order, last time I specifically read the English letter+ number so we are on the same page and I still got the wrong order, this time i didn't call.

I guess the number on Google maps is incorrect if they never got my phone call.

I will not recommend take out orders from this restaurant, they have decent south east Asian cuisine maybe dining in would give a better experience.

I'm in town for training and omg the vegetable pho and egg rolls I had delivered via Uber Eats is delicious!!! The veggies were fresh. The egg rolls were larger than usual and so crisp; I loved the amount of vermicelli inside. Couldn't believe it was till warm after a 30 min drive for the driver to do it off. Not sure what they used to season the broth but it's rich and delicious. The order was prepared in a timely fashion. Highly recommended and would order from them again.

We had a great time here. We’re always up for trying new spots, and this one didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious with big portions, and the service was fast and super friendly. Clean, cozy, and totally satisfying.

It was a little warm inside and the seating was a bit cramped for just the two of us, but nothing we couldn’t deal with. The real adventure was parking. We had to cross the street like we were in a game of frogger just to get to the door. Worth it though. People were coming in nonstop picking up food, so you know it’s a local favorite.

We’re already planning to come back. We might even ride our bikes next time just to skip the parking drama.

Sunny pho is okay. The flavor of the pho was just ok, a little on the sweet side and a little bit bland lacking flavor, but the quantity was generous. The boba was watered down (we had the lychee flavor), and the bobas were also a bit hard. They mixed up our order with another customer, so they got a free bowl of pho and we had to wait longer to get our order.

I actually enjoyed their food, specifically their Pad Thai; unfortunately, they've exposed themselves as complicit exercisers of racism. When I entered the store to pick up a doordash order, the cashier danced as a monkey to the waitress, and they both laughed. I am a Black woman. Stopped by a Asian place near after a doctors visit up here in Madison. I searched for Boba and this place had more food so I stopped in. Pleasant establishment and the wait staff are friendly. I ordered black tiger boba, then crab Rangoon, and pork and shrimp spring rolls.

so far the main thing I came in for wasn’t the best as the boba was yummy overall, but super chewy not soft; more hard. Sweet as I would expect for boba tea and the cup was very cute to see which brightened my day.

But the crab Rangoon was the star of the show I didn’t know I wanted, it was delicious with chunks of crab meat amongst the cream cheese. Not super sweet but a soft savory. Definitely recommend to get this is you like crab Rangoon!
The spring rolls are just as packed and yummy with shrimp and pork. The peanut sauce is a good contrast to it as well, but it’s not as sweet as the ones I prefer. More salty maybe even fish sauce I can’t pin point it sadly. Either way it was great with the rolls and I will be getting these again as well!
So even though the boba was harder then I’d like I’m Still good with knowing I found awesome food and I’m eager to see how their broth is the next time I come back! :) I added the menu as well for others to see more of what they have currently. The cost of just these things was $21 but overall the food is worth it :)

This restaurant is amazing - the first time I went I got the chicken vermicelli plate and I haven’t changed my order since. It is absolutely delicious. This was a great follow up after the botanical gardens, especially after going to the Hmong garden & Thai exhibit. The restaurant smells amazing even before you enter. They said they were open online at noon on a Thursday, I tried to call to place a pick up order and their phone number sent me to an online ordering link. I ordered the food and prepaid online, we showed up 20 minutes later to pick up the food, and the restaurant had a closed sign and no one was there. Average pho. Nothing spectacular that sets it apart from the handful of other places in town. The pad thai is quite good. Most expensive crab Rangoon I've seen, 3 for $6. They are quite good so it was worth it. The only set back to the cab Rangoon is the sweet and sour sauce. There wasn't any. Instead, they substituted egg roll sauce thinking that we wouldn't know the difference. Also the portion of the sauce is unacceptable, it's in a tiny 2oz container. Half their menu idoesn't exist anymore either. I ordered the thai tea and they gave my thai tea to a different table and expected me to pay for it. They eventually made me a Thai tea. $90 for 2bowl of pho, 1 pad thai, 2 orders of crab Rangoon and 2 thai tea.

I was really looking forward to eating here. There is no accessible entrances so as a wheelchair user I could not get in. This big step is also a hazard for anyone with low vision who would not see the high step. This place is so iconic please come and bring your friends I don’t even work here I just seriously love this place!! You can always request to eat in the karaoke bar section, they have boba and a bar in there which they opened this year, and deserves so much more attention. There aren’t a lot of people that utilize that space and you probably will have the karaoke to yourself. Don’t get the boba! I repeat! Don’t get the boba! The tapioca is hard inside and sticky on the outside, idk how to describe it more accurately but it’s not good boba… I recommend the Thai ice tea my friend got, I took a sip and it’s not too sweet (best compliment from an Asian), the taste of coconut milk is refreshing!

My favorite place to get authentic Vietnamese pho! Over & over again. The broth is very tasty, filled with ample noodles, green onion, a bit of red onion, cilantro, and the various meats & tender tendons are sufficient quantity in the regular size bowl (item B1 Sunny Pho Special).
The sides of bean sprouts, jalapeños, & mint are always fresh & crunchy. You're given chop sticks, a fork, and an Asian-style spoon to use. The needed condiments are already on the table for you, like hot chili oil (yum), Sriracha, hoisin sauce, Maggi, etc. Did I say how much I love this place? I really love this place.
Dining in is very nice with fast & friendly service. I've also had to-go orders of pho via Door Dash to the hospital, too! Even the to-go version of their pho is very well presented and always very fresh, too. Everything comes separately, so you can put it all together yourself when it arrives, still hot. Really nice.
Don't ever change a thing Sunny Pho because you're one of the best AUTHENTIC PHO restaurants I've been to in Madison. I feel like I've eaten homemade pho in your home whenever I visit your restaurant. Thank you very much for that.

I got a regular vegetarian pho and the broth was very flavorful! You can easily make it spicy by adding sriracha and chili crisp provided on the table. The regular size had a good portion and should be enough for most people. They have plenty of other dishes if you are not in a mood for pho, including boba teas.

I had the Honey Sriracha Wings, Chicken Pho, and Vegetable Spring Rolls. The wings were cooked perfectly and were crispy and the sause was amazing, came with plenty for the price too. The Chicken Pho was perfect, added some lime and it was such an insane flavor, also very filling. The Vegetable Spring Rolls tasted so fresh and went really well with the peanut sause served on the side. Pho is pretty good but lacks that signature Vietnamese traditional taste which consists of herbal spices like star anise, fennel etc. it is because owner is Cambodian. We walked in and the seats were empty on a Friday night. That explains everything. Horrible pho. It tasted like they added water last minute. The broth was literally water and overly diluted; there was no flavor or taste. There was no taste of the beef bone broth at all. The noodles were too soft. The meat was chewy and lacking in flavor. Pho broth tasted like homemade, for a $17 pho has two piece of meatballs and a few slices of beef and a handful of chopped cilantro and green onions, it's not worth the $$.
Boba tea were bland, could use more syrup.

I've been here twice and disappointed both times. Pho had the flavor but the broth is too sweet and the beef was chewy. Grilled pork and rice was dry! I judge an Asian restaurant if they can't cook their rice properly.

I've been here about five or so times and I enjoy it. It's never too crowded, the vibe is quiet and cozy, the service is courteous and the food is good and quickly delivered. I always get the vermicelli bowls. I do need to try their curry and pad thai. The portion size on these vermicelli bowls is good and I'm always satisfied with the taste. They're as good as any vermicelli bowls I've had anywhere, including Madison, Las Vegas, etc. Most of all, the price is quite good, especially these days when inflation has pushed restaurant and food prices up considerably. One of my favorite South East Asian restaurants in Madison, along with Lao Laan Xang and Rising Sons.

I ordered online. I got a vermicelli bowl with beef and another with pork. I’d say the beef order deserved more meat in the bowl, but everything tasted great! I also had a bahn mi sandwich that was delicious. This was my first time eating here and I’d definitely order again and recommend to my friends.

I am in love with this pho place! They have some of the best broth I have ever had in my life. Every time I am in madison, my mom and I come here! The service here is amazing, and they are super sweet! I also like how they have more here to offer than just pho. In addition, the food comes out super fast, which is a plus!

I'd never had a banh mi sandwich before and I'm so glad I tried one here because it was delicious. Service was great, too.

Edit: I just want to come back and update because this place, in a wonderful way, ruined banh mi for me. I've had lots of banh mi since my first one here, and I've never liked any of them as much as Sunny Pho. The bread, the sauce, the fresh jalapeños and cilantro. The pickled veggies... so flavorful. The meat... perfectly seasoned and moist, not too oily or tasting like a dirty grill. The lady behind the counter is so kind and always has a smile.

It's my favorite banh mi. I don't think I'll even bother ordering it anywhere else anymore.

Well, this is tough to say…$16.95 for a large bowl of pho, definitely wasn’t the best I have had, nor ever pay paid this much. As U can see, it can’t be too bad if I ate it all. Just wasn’t a WOW bowl of pho for the price. Maybe it was the high expectations after seen how much it cost? I would like to try again, but for the cost and location, I’m not sure if I would do it anytime soon. There’s at least two in the Madison area pho places that I would rather go to. Also have to admit with the inflation rate, if either of these places I like better raised their price this high. One more things, the restaurant it self wasn’t busy. Maybe 3 tables, but definitely just as much call to go order. So maybe I was the unlucky one. If other places I like is charging the same…maybe I’ll make one more stop back to see if I’m wrong. I came here tonight when I wasn't feeling great, for something healthy. Oh man, this place really surprised me. Excellent food, the spring rolls were perfect consistency and had the few extra details that made it just, wow. Served with cilantro, and fresh herbs inside as well. The egg rolls had a perfect crunch, weren't greasy, and really tasted homemade. I love the generous bag of fresh
cut herbs they gave me with the food, it's the extra details they add to their food that really make it pop. Everything tastes homemade with love and flavor, truly made my night.
