How this place has 4.9 stars is a mystery. The chilaquiles were mushy tortillas covered in an indescribable sauce. The beans were like canned pork and beans. The eggs with bacon was mid. Service was meh. They took the order. Delivered food. Didn’t see them again until it was time to pay. If I could give 0 stars I would.

The food was delicious. It came out hot and was exactly what we ordered. The service on the other hand was cold and almost non-existent.
We waited by the door, unsure if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. We were then (not greeted)and just told to "sit wherever". It took another 10 minutes to get menus. They didn't give us enough menus or silverware or straws for each person. When we asked for more straws, silverwear and napkins , they never brought us any until we asked again after our food arrived. They never brought out more silverware. When we asked if they had a kids menus they answered "nah, we don't do that here". We had 3 different servers and none of them were friendly or helped us with what we needed.
Again, the food was delicious, the elote corn hit the spot, but the service was very unsatisfactory.

Food was surprisingly delicious. Restaurant seems like it’s a former fast food restaurant that’s been turned into a sit down place and still has a very casual charm. We ordered the pancakes and the breakfast quesadilla and finished it all—so good! The breakfast quesadilla in particular was super flavorful and probably some of the best American-Mexican food we’ve had in Wisconsin. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re looking for a casual but satisfying breakfast.

Loved it! Authentic Mexican with American flare. Hard deciding between the spinach omelette with hash browns or the chilaquiles plate… Chose the latter and it was fantastic! Absolutely one of our most favorite experiences in Door County! We wanted Mexican food & stopped for lunch after reading their reviews. Sturgeon Bay is so lucky to have authentic Mexican food for a reasonable price. The owner/server Christina was absolutely wonderful! We started with their homemade guacamole & chips which was so delicious ♥️🥑 Then our lunch order arrived. I had a grilled chicken quesadilla & my husband had a chorizo burrito. 🌯 Both lunches were outstanding. Christina visited with us about their restaurant & family. It was so nice to have someone that was so friendly & cared about her customers. We wish the Sunrise Cafe all the best as they continue to bring a great eating experience to Sturgeon Bay ♥️

My mom and I eat here all the time. Never had a bad experience, great food, wonderful staff, and probably the best tres leche cake in the county. If anyone asks me where’s a good spot to eat, this is my first suggestion. I always mention this as my favorite lunch spot. Wish it was open longer so that I could get dinner from here but that is my one and only real “complaint.” This is a spot you will not regret eating at.

I recently visited the Sunrise Restaurant at 1463 Egg Harbor Rd, in Sturgeon Bay, WI. This is a nice place for breakfast. I sat at the counter and was quickly greeted and my beverage order taken. I got my coffee as I looked over the menu. I decided on the blueberry pancakes. They were served promptly. The pancakes were good.

I was painfully disappointed in the quality of food and service. The omelet had no flavor and the hash browns were burnt. I have never had an omelette that swam in it's own juices before. When I told my server that I didn't like the omelette, she became very defensive and rude. She also stated that the problem lies with me and not the food. I'm sorry but I'm the one eating and paying for the food so therefore I should be satisfied with it. In addition no one checked on us or offered a second cup of coffee. The only time we saw her was when she presented us with the bill. It wasn't even busy. She was very unprofessional and I will never frequent there again. I will also tell everyone I know about how subpar the food and service was. If I could I would give them minus stars.

The hash browns were over cooked and super crispy. The chilaquiles were bland and the beans were liquid and flavorless. We weren't asked how the food was or served more coffee. This was our first breakfast/lunch venue we made it to this past visit to Door County last month and I must say we rather enjoyed it.

Not sure if this is the choice for tourists being it's located on the north side of town away from the bay area but I love supporting local especially a business that thrives during the winter.

Very good American-Mexican fare at reasonable prices despite everything everywhere going up in price, clean dining room and the owners are down-to-earth friendly people.

Our server/hostess/owner was super friendly and spoke with my wife (who's Honduran) in Spanish explaining a little bit of background about themselves and how long they've been in business.

I enjoy good ol' home cooking and it's venues like this that I strive to support. We came back the next day to try their homemade Tres Leches cake which was to-die-for.

The next time visiting Door County, will definitely be dining in here again and hope for continued success & prosperity for the owners.

We stopped here for lunch during a weekend trip to Door County. We wanted somewhere quick that wasn’t fast food, and this was the place! We went at an off time. so we were one of two groups there. We didn’t wait long for our food, and everything was delicious! I had the bacon wrap, which was amazing and very filling. I liked the fruit on the side! My husband enjoyed his ranchero omelet, which came with hash browns and toast. It looked like a lot of food! We didn’t see a kids menu for my daughter, but we got her the French toast. Just left and writing a review so I don’t forget. My husband and I are in town from Iowa, camping at Potawatomi and came in for breakfast on a rainy Sunday. They were busy (according to staff it was unusually busy) but our service was still great and the food was fast. We had the chilaquiles and the Ranchero Omelet. Both were very good, the chorizo and salsa were flavorful. The front of house staff were young guys who were polite, quick to respond, and working hard. The back of the house was putting out food that was fast and all looked delicious.
We would definitely return if we visit Door County again.
