They “upgraded” the bowling alley by adding TVs to the back boards, they now use the pins attached to strings. First off people do not come to the bowling alley to watch tv (that’s what the bar area is for). It’s distracting and it causes a bad glare on the lane and it makes it hard to see the arrow on the lane that some people use to aim their balls. They also added lights that you would think they only turn on during midnight bowling, cause again it’s distracting from the bowling energy needed to concentrate while bowling. I used to love coming to this place, now you leave with a headache. So sad.

Great food! Bowling league, volleyball, horse shoes, Car shows, live bands! The only minor issues are the arade area and pool hall. Pool hall needs more engaging events, and the arcade area has little prizes, and the few games available work 60% of the time! I'll still go, but not a local top 5.

I went here for my birthday, some of my friends drove over an hour to bowl and drink. Brought there 18 year old daughter to DD and they wernt even able to play pool. After driving all the way there….bowling was great but we ordered mozzarella sticks and they were frozen in the middle and then they forgot about us and didn’t get more for over an hour and we had to go to the bar to ask if they were ready. Bartenders aren’t friendly - unless you flag them down they will walk right past you. Terrible service. I won’t be back.

Stopped in and not a single quarter table had balls in them, no signs posted saying so. Also, the felt on every table looks like a third world countries landfill.

This place is phenomenal from a bowlers point of view, beautiful masking unit that doesn’t glare onto the lane. The lanes themselves are very well taken care of and the pins fly compared to my home facility. If you are a league bowler or someone who’s looking for some practice this place is PHENOMENAL! Especially with their pricing it’s extremely affordable compared to other places. Looking forward to coming back some day.

We did a “dad and me” social with our 4 year olds and had nearly 50 people and 8 lanes with pizza. First and foremost, BETH was absolutely phenomenal throughout the booking process. On December 27th my husband and I booked bowling for his side of the family as a Christmas present. There was 23 people a mix of adult and kids. The staff did amazing job helping us out. As an Asian person, I felt slightly unwelcome here. While the younger staff was nice, some of the older staff was giving weird looks. Went to play pool, they had a streaming thing going - but didn't tell anyone, they called us rude for going to the bathroom - because the live taping was the table was right next to the bathroom. They have online lane reservations so you are guaranteed a lane and a time slot to bowl in. They have automated bumpers that raise and lower automatically depending on each bowlers preference. Come here every Thursday during the football season for wings with a bunch of friends, always love the wings and the help. The waiters are very helpful and on top of it when it comes to ordering. Have only had a few issues with my order over 2 years of coming here consistently. They also have the UFC fights on which is nice as not many places have that around me.

I would consider us regulars, taking advantage of the “kids bowl free” app when it’s available for the last few years. Generally a very good experience with reasonably priced food and drinks. But kids bowl free is only available during open bowl and unless it is a sunny weekend afternoon, nearly impossible to get a lane as reservations fill the place up. So, we learned to check their website reservations to gauge how busy they may and roll the dice getting a lane. Today we did just that, and their website showed plenty of availability. We arrived and looked like our chances were good as there was easily 10 lanes open. We waited at the counter with no one showing up for a good 5 minutes. A red head female employee finally “greeted” us and I showed her our kids bowl free app. She threw up her hands and shouted at me saying they had no availability without a reservation until 530. It being about 320, I showed her their own website with availability at 345 and pointed to the open lanes. She said, “I don’t know what to tell you I don’t control the website.” Then she yelled at the group behind us asking if they had a reservation which they did. I don’t recognize this employee so she must be new. She really needs to work on her communication style. Such a shame one person can give a good business such a black eye.

I went bowling with a group of 10 yesterday afternoon. The lanes were awesome! Clean, good music! What ruined it for my group and I was rudeness we all experienced at different times from an employee. From just checking in, to getting shoes, to lane error that needed to be fixed, and even getting a beverage. This gentleman was very unpleasant, and he seemed that way to other people that were there also. It was frustrating, because my interaction with this person and other interactions I saw with others was terrible, and unnecessary! There was a lady there, she was great, but she was busy!

Went here for bowling and lunch during the week with some coworkers. The young man who works the counter where you get your shoes is horribly RUDE! In our conversation, he never once smiled, never welcomed our group in and was short with me. When I went to check on our food/drink order, I approached him and instead of him nicely saying, "how can i help you?" he looked at me and said, "yes?" as if i was bothering him. He did this later on too, when I approached the bar and he was behind it filling up pitchers of soda.

We had fun bowling and the pizza was good, but due to poor service, I will not be returning. Time to find an employee who can hold it together, even when its stressful and busy. Time to find an employee who is friendly and acts like they actually want to be at work. Time to find an employee who understands what good customer service is.

The only thing that keeps this establishment from obtaining four or five stars are the service and drinks. Insanely high prices. We bowled here tonight for the first time. We are from out of town but have a family member living just down the street from Sussex Bowl. We paid more than double the price to bowl here as we would in our own town just 45 minutes north. We also were kicked out after an hour due to other people needing our lane. They did give us a heads up that the lanes were reserved. We had finished bowling in that time, but we were hoping to just finish our pizza at a nearby table as well, when we were asked to move.

Terrible service. Took my electrical apprentice here for lunch and were told we couldn't eat at the bar because he wasn't 21.. Not sure if that's a thing but we do it at other places every Friday. Moved to a table and was completely ignored. Bartender which I believe was the owner wouldn't even make eye contact with me. First, this is a bowling alley and I didn't bowl.

Billiards: They have about a dozen Diamond tables set up in a nice pool hall. Great setup and only $5/hour. The tables are kept up nice, it's a good place to shoot.

Food: They have a surprisingly big menu for a bowling alley, including typical bar food plus soups and salads. I had a grilled ham and swiss with chips. I was a little disappointed by the sandwich, it was real greasy and sort of bland. Some of the other things I saw looked good, I'll have to come back and try something else.

The have a lot of lanes, a lot of TVs showing sports, Tuesday night trivia, overall a nice bowling alley in Sussex.
