It was the worst overpriced food ever for m. I really wanted to send it back to the kitchen and have it reimbursed. I ordered the special they had on tenderloin (steak Diane) priced at $38.00 and it was absolutely swimming in sauce as were the potatoes. I requested medium rare and I got well done. Over seasoned so much so that couldn’t even get the flavor of the steak or the potatoes. What are hiding? It was god awful! Never again. The waitress was very pleasant to my partner but absolutely avoided any kind of interaction with me. Even though I wanted to speak to her about my meal. more interested in my male partner every time she came over to the table for his opinion and out right avoided asking me how I felt about the food. Like I have no value or voice or opinion. That’s pure stupidity to think that women don’t have pocket books themselves. Go to a decent supper club in the area instead!

Haven't been here in years and sadly won't be back. Menu has really shrunk. The lobster bisque was amazing. Real good Italian bread.
Had a walnut salad. No walnuts... The Cajun shrimp came with 5 small , way overcooked tough shrimp. Ragout was delish. Salmon sadly was overcooked and rather dry. If I'm spending over fifty bucks a person, I expect everything to be very good. Which sadly was not the case

We stopped at Sweet Basil to try the new mussel appetizer, and it did not disappoint. The mussels were steamed in a white wine sauce and served with crostini bread, enough for a meal.
Our server/bartender, we chose to eat in the bar, was friendly, upbeat and checked on our drinks and other needs consistently.
The atmosphere/bar was engaging with other patrons enjoying and discussing their drinks and meals.

4 of the five people I dined with had the Burrata Pasta it was 25.00 for roughly 15 half tubes of pasta with 6 small sliced pieces of chicken. All 4 dishes the pasta was luke warm at best with a wait of 1.5 hours. When we asked for more bread before we got our entree we were told that it is baked in house and they didn't have much but the waitress was able to obtain another 6 squares. My wife had ordered a salad and an hour after the order the waitress said the kitchen had messed up so would she like it with her dinner we declinedthe salad. We have always had good food and service in the past so not sure what is going on or that it was just a bad night for the kitchen but the only thing that was really enjoyable was the old fashions and the company of my family.

Folks I have never had this poor service with this terrible quality of food. We had reservations at 6 and did not receive our food until 7:35. The delayed food is one thing, but we barely had any interaction with our server on anything. No drink order or water refills. We had to go to the bar to get drinks and we did not have our water refilled until the same time we got our food.

The people in our group that had pasta had decent meals, but the steak sandwich was flattened ground beef (see the picture). Awful awful food and value for the price. If I knew I was essentially ordering a burger, a chain restaurant would have provided higher quality.

Understanding that there must have been a short staff (never confirmed), we would have completely understood the situation and adjust our expectations and/or went elsewhere if someone would have let us know on any challenges in the kitchen, but nothing was communicated by the staff.

I have heard that this was once a great spot to eat in Plymouth, but holy smokes it has drastically declined in quality across the board (service, food, drinks).

If you considering coming here to eat, definitely call ahead and confirm the menu and that they have a food staff otherwise you are going to be sitting in cold restaurant for over 2hrs with substandard food.

We came for New Years Eve and had the most amazing dinner! We started in the bar. Haley, the bartender was so cheerful and gave us great recommendations. Despite being busy, she always had a smile on her face, and there wasn't an empty seat in the place.
The place was very busy, (as you would expect on New Years) but the staff truly did amazing. It was great to see so many happy people.
Sarah, our server was wonderful, very knowledgeable about the menu. We went with her recommendation of the surf and turf special and it was out of this world!
Dessert menu sounded amazing but we were so full! Coffee creme brulee, yum!
This was our first time here and WE WILL BE BACK! SOON!

We have not eaten at Sweet Basil in over a year. This place has gone down hill since. After our order was taken we waited over 1.5 hours to receive our food. My girlfriend ordered the crusted walleye which cost &30. When her plate arrive the walleye was only the size of a 4” perch. When we pointed this out to our waitress her comment was “well the price of food is going up”. Seriously? There are other places to eat in the area were you get a decent sized portion for the price you are paying without getting lousy feedback. We will not be going back.

In addition, we ran while we were waiting with follow up from our waitress. I went to the bar to get drinks and bartender told she was too busy busy and to get with my waitress. Sad.

My wife and I ended up stopping here from out of town for our anniversary. Quite a disappointment. The food was not bad, but for what you pay for extremely small portions was not worth it. I think when they brought out our paltry portions, my wife and I both laughed to ourselves and wondered where the rest of it was… We have certainly found as good or better food elsewhere for considerably less, and actually provide you with a decent portion. we will definitely not go there again as we regretted wasting our anniversary meal there.

Each month, our friend group would come out and try different restaurants in the area. We tried Sweet Basil as we were told, their food is worth trying.
We had a reservation for 6:15 but we didn’t get seated til almost 7. We had a big group and we understand that it wouldn’t be easy for 1 server. We had our appetizers order taken, then more drinks and our food. Our server had a little mix up with the entree order so she went to double check which one she missed (dang rigatoni).
We were served our appetizers and she brought out two crispy Brussel sprouts and a bruschetta. We politely told her that we ordered two bruschetta and one Brussel sprouts. Her reaction to this was surprising, she insisted that we were wrong and she brought the right order out. We tried to explain that we did in fact ordered 2 bruschetta’s, she then walked away then yelled, “fine, I’ll bring another bruschetta!” Weird. Awkward.
The food and drinks were amazing. I enjoyed my shrimp scampi and the brussel sprouts as well as the infamous bruschetta.
As much as I enjoyed my entree. The shrimp scampi portion, compared to its price, is a bit much. $31.00 for a small Angel hair pasta with 6 shrimps is a bit much. I can’t say there’s anything fancy about the ingredients used that and the dish itself wasn’t mind blowing at all. For a small-town restaurant, the prices are a bit outrageous.
There was a live band, they were great! Very entertaining and talented duo.
We were seated in the middle of the dining room, right in-front of the stage, which I also found very odd. A big top of 9 shouldn’t be placed where it can be distracting to the artist and the other customers trying to watch the live music.
Overall, I enjoyed my food, my drinks, the music. The experience, meh. It’s aight.

I’ve been here twice and ordered the glazed salmon both times. The first it was amazing and sweet, not fishy. Perfect so I went back. The second it was on a cheddar cheese risotto, was more fishy with less flavor overall and certainly not a sweet glaze. Just be aware it must change that much between days. We've eaten at Sweet Basil twice now, and finally remembered to leave a review. All in all, it's one of our favorite sit-down places in the area. We've had different dishes both times, and have yet to be disappointed. Their pasta is great, and their tenderloin steaks are amazing! Make sure to save room for dessert, because this is some of the best Tiramisu I've ever had! Their Baked Brownie is also an amazing dessert for yourself or to split! Food was overall very good. Bruschetta and spinach dip appetizers, apple salad, and I had scallops with pumpkin risotto. The scallops were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The risotto did not have any pumpkin flavor, I think it was overpowered by the goat cheese, which I did not like. There was also a crunchy texture so I was not sure if the rice was not fully cooked or if it was the diced onion. I think if it was more of a pumpkin flavor with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon with a gouda, guyrer or milder cheese would have been more successful. But excellent service and good food overall.

Had a great experience at sweet basil. Nice ambiance and decor. We had a reservation at 5:30 on a Saturday night and was seated immediately. Waitress was very friendly and quick. We had the calamari as an appetizer, it was delicious. We had the red pepper Alfredo for our entree. With a side of asparagus. Pasta was delish, asparagus was a little tough and hard. We had the sangria, which was very good. They gave us a creme brûlée on the house since it was our anniversary. We thought that was a nice touch. We will definitely go to this restaurant again.

We are food snobs and this has become our favorite. Food and service outstanding. My wife had the walleye and she said it was best she has had in years. I had the lasagna and it was the best I have ever had. Sauce was beyond anything I have ever tasted and I am 70. They take Covid seriously and staff wore mask with sanitizer at the door. I could see my order on the table getting colder by the minute. There were only four people at the bar and three employees in the room. Sweet Basil was great! We haven't been there in over a year so we thought we would take friends there Friday night. We all ordered something different and we all loved our dinners. Fantastic! From the chowder and salads to the entries. Our waitress was super helpful and very friendly. Will deffinately be back!👍
