Went to watch the vikings game with my aunt and uncle and I ordered a bloody mary that was good and had the normal skewer of pickle, block of cheese, peperoncini, olive and beef stick piece. I really liked the breakfast curds(cheese curds in a french toast batter)! Great place to go!

The place was kind of a dive when it was Mavs. Fun but a dive. Bare minimum bar food. Man has that changed. They've got a full menu loaded with good stuff. You can't go wrong with anything you order. Mixed drinks and a freshly made chicken sandwich with fries 🧑🏼‍🍳👄👌🏼

One of the BEST places to go in terms of good food, great service and feeling like you’re just welcome here. The servers are insanely friendly and talk to you like you guys have known eachother for years. I absolutely love this place - the food is a little pricey but I would say it’s worth it. Stopped in for a beer on a cold midweek March night. Not much happening in town, so it was a little slow. The owners have created a great spot to hang out and enjoy a beer or a meal. They have spots with typical bar tables, as well as comfortable chairs for a more casual setting. There is additional seating on the other side of the bar. They must have live music some nights as there is a stage and sound system set up and ready to go. We'll be back for dinner and music.

I went to Tarnation Saturday night to catch the Ghosts of Mississippi show. It was a nice fall-like evening in August so the patio door was wide open and it was so comfortable all night!! As the band started the place filled up!!! So much so that I had the closest seat to he stage that suddenly I couldn't see it because of all the people, but they were having fun. I didn't check it out but there was a whole other bar on the north side of the digs, which seemed to be a little quieter. I liked that the ladies room was right there across from the east end of the bar. Parking is easy as they're on the corner so you can park on either side of Main St or whichever street is on the north side of the building. I liked that as I sat there I saw a local business owner from down the street came in... for dinner. I said: you have food. He replied how he gets enough of his own so he comes here. When I was ordering I asked my server if she'd opt for the Smashed Burger or Korean BBQ Chicken? She said "we're known for our chicken." She wasn't wrong... it was delicious!! The first few bites were a little salty...soy sauce-esque but then it got better...way better! It didn't come with a side and while I debated if I would finish the sandwich or not, I was glad it didn't, nor that I opted to add one. I appreciated that a fellow I was sitting with made the comment she hadn't been back and he was ready for another drink, he looked to the bar. Made the comment she was behind the bar and he didn't get upset, walked up to the bar to get his drink. We all realized... she's covering both sides of the bar and the restaurant; definitely can't get upset for her not popping back over, she did an excellent job all night! The bathroom is big enough and there's only two stalls. So don't be like one self important woman last night who made a lengthy phone call while in the handicap stall....leaving dozens of women to use one stall. Tarnation has it all... great food, attentive & friendly service, great acoustics for live music, easy parking and a very comfortable atmosphere, there was even a sofa near the table in front of the patio door. I'm looking forward to my next meal and hopefully catching another gig here, thanks Tarnation Tavern for a fun and delicious Saturday night!!

I was pleasantly surprised with the changes made in the remodeling. The servers were friendly and there was a nice friendly crowd. I originally went there for the Annual Burger Battle, and my burger was perfect, I later learned that they won the 2024 competition, so it's just not my recommendation. Parking can be a bit of a challenge as it's on street & in a small city lot behind the buildings. There's a stage for the live music performers and they serve breakfast on Saturday & Sunday mornings. Plenty of reasons why I've already been back for a couple times & I intend to make it a go-to spot in town.

Came here to just grab some lunch.
I just ordered the dry rub fried chicken and it did not disappoint. They came hot, crispy, tender and the flavor was good. The spices was not just on the skin but you can taste it in the meat unlike a lot of dry rub fried chicken where the flavor's only on the skin but the meat's bland, so that was a nice surprise. For the sides, I had the veggie fries. The carrot tasted weird but the green beans was better.
The best part was the service. They were all very nice and accommodating.
There's also a nice park, Heritage Park, just right across it if you'd like to walk. A lot of people are taking the Kinnickinnick Trail.
All in all, I recommend the place.

This is the best spot in RF! The food is delicious; everything on the menu is superb, and the chicken fingers are my go-to! Plus, their street dawg is great, and if you can make it for breakfast on the weekend, that's fantastic too and an awesome value!

Good atmosphere. Fair beer prices. Beer had a black fleck but no biggie just pick it out. The food comes out and there's an awkward silence at the sight of the tiny lonely portions spread out on the tray. The servers "anything else?" Yeah I'm wondering the same thing my guy. Tiny chicken filet had a nice golden color, but the first bite instantly had the familiar rubbery texture of old or undercooked chicken. Looked white all the way through, but the texture and a flavorless pink juice dripping really had me hesitant the whole meal. Menu said 9.99 but I got charged 12.99.

The staff was friendly. We stopped in during River Falls Days to have lunch and ordered their Nashville Chicken. It tasted like the cook “dumped” the salt shaker on it. I believed this may have been accidental, so we quickly pointed this out to staff. I could not eat the sandwich and it was not taken off our bill. It was a very unfortunate experience. I assume this is not their usual recipe. We will not be back.

We’ve been here twice in the past few months, once with our kids and once for a quick lunch date sans kids. Both experiences were great, for a family dinner the customer service was excellent and the food was delicious. When we went on our lunch date we sat at the bar and the bartender was extremely friendly, our drinks never went empty and the food was once again delicious. Definitely will be returning.

Interesting place. I would imagine it's a blast on weekends with a perfect set up for bands. The bar has a really nice set up. Unfortunately they fell short on the food. The double patty smash burger was only 1 patty, and the explanation was basically things are up in the air right now with the cooks.... Not a great sign, but it explains the cold fries, I recommend upgrading to the cheese curds . They didn't have the apple pie drink on the menu, that was a bummer. But the strangest thing of the day was the sweetheart bartender who was serving, gave us a verbal check followed with a I think . That's a first for me. The food was ok everything was just ok. I'll go again to check out the night life

The live music was great and they interacted with the audience including our 5 year old daughter. This is definitely a place I will go again both with and without the kiddo. I was looking forward to this dining experience as it was highly recommended by a family member of mine. After ordering and eating the chicken strips, all I can say is, "What in Tarnation is this??" The chicken was very dry, and way over cooked. The breading was crunchy (not crispy). Overall, I was very disappointed in the quality of the food as well as the portion size. The food was prepared quickly and everything that was ordered was included, so I have to at least give them props for that.

What a joke of a bar. I was there recently on a Saturday evening. I waited at the bar for over 20 minutes for the bartenders to take my order. I made it obvious by waving my money around, yet they still ignored me. After waiting for what seemed like forever, I finally said out loud, "Hey, can I order such and such......?" The one bartender finally took my order. I ordered 1 shot and two drinks on tap. She gave me the shot right away, but didn't even deliver the two drinks I ordered. They were left underneath the tap. I wasn't sure if those drinks were meant for someone else, so a minute or so later, I say, "Are these mine?" The one bartender says with a snotty look on her face, "Yeah...." Ummmm ok, why can't you deliver them to me?? Horrible service. Rude bartenders. Will never order another drink from there again.
