After looking at many restaurant reviews/ratings around this area we decided to come here. It’s was a cozy little joint. The server was very friendly. We started with the ahi tuna and salmon bites- which were both fantastic. We also enjoyed their maple old fashioned- phenomenal! However we ordered dinner, and it took an exuberant amount of time to get our main meals out. Mind you the restaurant when we got there was 80% - but within 30 min of us being there it had cleared out to 3 tables on a Saturday evening. Our food came out over an hour later. We finally got to enjoy the filet and frites, the pork tomahawk, short ribs and the surf and turf burger. It’s was all fantastic! Unfortunately the wait time was not what we had in mind. We saw tables that had sat after us and ordered after us get food and leave. And for that the low stars. Great food - just be prepared to wait.

Hands down the best darn cheese curds I’ve ever had anywhere! When they first came out I thought they looked like pretzel bites and I was wondering what the batter was. Well one bite and I was hooked. The raspberry jalapeño sauce was amazing and I’d eat that all by itself but together that was a masterpiece! Had a filet and asparagus which was amazing. The fries were not as crispy as I like but to each their own the rest made up for it! My sister had items off the Italian menu and I tried all of hers too. Liked it all! We will be back!

A True Gem in Hayward!

We had an absolutely incredible experience at Tavern at White Stag Farm. The food was delicious, the drinks were phenomenal and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming.

The bartenders were exceptional—not only were the drinks fantastic, but they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They offered great menu recommendations, let us sample a rosemary whiskey before ordering (which was amazing), and truly made our night with their friendliness and expertise.

But what really sets this place apart is their kindness and care. I accidentally left my rain jacket at the restaurant, and the next morning while walking around town, one of the bartenders actually recognized me on the street, remembered the jacket, and took the time to call a manager. Even though the restaurant was closed, the manager came in just to help me get it back. That kind of thoughtfulness is so rare and so appreciated.

This is the kind of place you don’t forget—not just for the food and drinks, but for the people. We’ll definitely be back and will recommend Tavern at White Stag Farm to anyone visiting Hayward. 💛

We were on vacation looking for a nice resturant, choosing this one based on indications that it was a fine dining experience. I ordered the filet mignon medium rare, it arrived cooked as ordered, however, it was cool as if it had been setting out for a period of time before being brought to the table. The bed of mashed potaoes that it was served on was cold, the green beans that came with it were under cooked(not edible). My wife ordered the pork tenderloin, and yes it arrived the same way, cool, with cold mashed potaoes and under cook green beans. This was a Saturday night , the dining room was less than half capacity. At no time did the server check in with us during our meal to see how we were doing.

Our first visit to this restaurant during the summer was incredible. The food was perfect and our waiters were extremely attentive and quick. However, when we came back a couple weeks ago, we were severely disappointed. We came early for a reservation, and despite many tables being empty, were told to wait at the bar until they could set a table for the four of us. We waited there with no employee checking in on us for the next 30 minutes while other groups (who came in after us w/o reservations) were sat. Finally, a member of our group went up to check on our table, and only at that point did we get sat. Our waitress was nice enough, but seemed to get overwhelmed very easily and forgot to write down part of our order. The food took incredibly long despite once again, the restaurant being nowhere close to full. One member of our group ordered the pasta with veggies and white sauce, and found that the veggies seemed completely uncooked and were almost inedible due to their hardness. There were also sugar snap peas (uncooked) in the pasta, which was not stated on the menu, and were no artichokes in the pasta, which was listed on the menu. I hope to come back here during the summer again and find a better environment, but we are disappointed in the experience we had this time around.

We live 2 miles from Tavern at WSF and have eaten here 5 or six times. Previous visits have been very good and this is one of my favorite area restaurants. I took my wife, brother and sister in law for a special dinner. Darleen was our server and did a great job. The wine and salad were very good. However, my salmon was overcooked, my sister in law’s chicken was also. My brothers ahi tuna was very good. Was this a just one time event? Not sure. Was the chef having a bad night….. don’t know. We will be back, but will be very specific on how we want our food cooked.

Lots of good but kind of an identity crisis of supper club, fine dining, smoking lounge, and coffee shop. Not sure what to make of the couches, pillows, and chairs draped with fake furs. Kind of an Octogenarians with adult children crowd. Which is maybe why some of the food is so salty. The sides and and soup seems the victim while the entrees are solid. Overall pleasant experience. I’d recommend reservations especially for early dining.

The bartender and the waitress were great. We ordered a filet and when it came you could not cut it with a knife. It was full of rind and fat. We tried to complain very politely and yet they didn't seem to care. It was the worst fillet we have ever had. They would not take it off the bill. They offered us dessert which we did not want. The manager would not come out and speak with us. They said they gave us a bigger piece because it was fatty. We would have preferred a smaller fillet. The fact that they didn't seem to care is the reason we will never go back. Very disappointing experience.

Enjoyed dinner here a year ago so on our ‘moms weekend getaway’ we decided to visit again. The prices have increased dramatically so we chose to share entrees. This was clearly frowned upon. One check was brought to the table so we worked to divide it but the waitress was frustrated with us and went to split the check in disgust. The food is yummy the hostess was the cutest, but I will not be back and wish I left a smaller tip.

Choosing White Stag for my birthday dinner was a great decision. The filet was seasoned and cooked to mouthwatering PERECTION! The sides were just as delicious. The staff was exceptionally professional, very friendly, and accommodating to the point the sous chef came out to our table to answer questions we had about the menu. The Tavern at White Stag Farm is a hidden gem in northern WI. My husband and myself went there twice over our long weekend because it was so good. The first night we had the duck special and burger, and the second night we had the skirt steak special and whitefish special. The chef did not disappoint. I was shocked at just how good everything was. The flavors were top notch and you can tell they really care about the food coming out of the kitchen. If you are looking for something different in the Hayward area, you should for sure stop here.

Very charming place. Very friendly server. Really comfortable old leather couch in dining room. Really yummy carrot soup. Great fingerling potatoes. Rolls were good. Where things went wrong was with the ribeye steaks. Both my brother in law and myself had one. He had the special with mushrooms and parmesan and mine was plain. Mushrooms were very good. Both ribeye steaks were loaded with sinew. Hard to cut and impossible to chew. Most high end ribeye I've had over the years is mostly or completely sinew free. The fat in really good ribeye should melt in your mouth. Both steaks we had that night were the same. We had to cut away many unchewable parts. Maybe we just had a few bad cuts. Hard to say since it was our first time there. Sorry.

This restaurant is now at the top of our list for places to go to in the Hayward area. We walked in without a reservation and were seated shortly after arriving. Suzanne, our waitress did a wonderful job. We thoroughly enjoyed the seafood and meatloaf specials and split the generous apple, cranberry and blue cheese salad. Nice wine selection and the lemon marscapone dessert was exceptional. We were also impressed that chef Nate made his way around the dining room to chat with everyone and get input. Highly recommend this restaurant!! You won’t be disappointed.

The food here is amazing! Finding a reservation is a challenge. But the bar often has openings. Depending on how busy they are, the bar tends to also have a full menu. Every waiter is amazing and you will have good service.

We are big foodies and love this place. I have yet to have anything bad. Food is very seasonal so visiting often is a must!

Friendly staff. The food was great. I had the white stag burger... I'm not a fan of blue cheese but it was awesome. Other members of the group had the blueberry salad with ahi tuna, jalapeño burger and cheese burger. Fried cheese curds were great too. Chef Nathan came out and chatted with us. He is working to incorporate what he can from the farm and working towards farm to table.

This place is a hidden GEM. greeted immediately upon entry. I cannot say enough or speak highly enough of the bartender (I'm sorry I cannot remember her name), She was knowledgeable on nearly every drink you could think of, she was super friendly and fun to visit with. An all around great person. Now on to the food. AMAZING! Top notch service, top notch food, apps, main course and dessert, our waitress was the sweetest, gal I've ever met, she was a Gem in her own right.. Everything was PERFECT, I highly recommend visiting if not for dinner at least for friendly banter with, in my opinion, a world class bartender and human being.
