Back of house did a satisfactory job, but front of house was pretty overwhelmed. Didn't get my Kohler discount applied either, even though they said they'd do it after I showed my clock card (drinks took forever too). Give the bartender some covers for goodness sake. Beautiful view at dusk when seated outside, though.

What a gorgeous place! The service was exceptional and friendly. I had a gluten free pizza because I was sharing and while it ran a bit sweet for my taste, my GF friend said it was great. The dessert was a tiny, flavor packed jar of pure heaven. It was called a chocolate budino and it was amazing!! That alone was worth the drive. It was too small to stick my head in and lick out but I would have.

Ordered the 'pork store' pizza. The parts that weren't burnt were quite good. We tried to just eat the middle.

We were placed right next to the short hall to the kitchen. Acceptable seats if there wasn't other seating. We had made reservations, so they could have seated us at any of the other 10 tables that were open, but they didn't. So there was a constant rush of servers from the kitchen to the floor and vice versa.

$22 for a 12 inch pizza? Could have gone to Pizza Raunch (OK, P.R. has much improved over what they were 2 years ago) for much less and had their great chicken and dessert! I get it, the 'classy' people of Kohler and the wealthy people that come to Destination Kohler are in a different class than the rank and file of America.

I don't always complain, but this was not an experience that we will repeat.

Missed the mark on their traditional breakfast. Over easy eggs were browned, sausage links were overcooked, hashbrowns with absolutely no effort, dry warm bread (it was not toast) served with no butter. No presentation. Asked for butter and was given melted butter.

On the other hand the mushroom/hollandaise pizza was amazing. Medium rare burger was very rare. Server did send mgr to our table and one meal was comped and she sent my son home with a complimentary dessert.

We had high hopes for Taverne on Woodlake. The food was good, but probably not worth what is charged. The staff was manic and hustling around a lot, which made for an anxious atmosphere. Our server was nice, but once she dropped off our salad we did not see her again until it came time to drop the check. I had to flag a host down to get a drink, no one checked on us after our entree was brought to us, and our server never offered or asked us about dessert. Dinner for 2 ran us around $120, and for that I just expected much better service. I did mention this to a manager, and she did offer us dessert, but we were honestly just done with the place and too aggravated to stick around.

We sat next to the lake, which was nice. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but the food is nothing great. We had pizza and the ricotta bread, neither of which was great. The menu pricing also didn't match what we were charged for gluten free crust, not a huge deal but this occurred at other restaurants as well.

We were lucky enough to walk in without a reservation and get seated in the cozy booth in the bar area. Service by the bar staff was great, as were the cocktails we ordered. The everything salad was excellent. Plentiful, fresh, and delish. When the Bolognese arrived for the main course, it appeared to be a small pathetic portion of pasta, and we chuckled at the size. It was if the kitchen ran out of prepared pasta or sauce, so they plated what they had for our table. For $26, there should be more to the dish than a small portion of just pasta, meat sauce, and herbs. This was the only disappointing part of dinner. We enjoyed the live music, our cocktails, and the service.

Very cool atmosphere. Food was very subpar. The best thing we had overall were cheesy grits and wilted greens. Steak was sorta bland. Chop was at best a half inch thick, slightly overcooked and had a sauce that tasted like onions in too much oil/butter. Couldn’t even eat it.

I don’t want to be a downer, but the food is just so bad here. The small plates like the Arancini are just frozen apps from the grocery store that the kitchen is microwaving (and not for long enough either). The pizza was the worst, I truly didn’t know someone could mess up pizza, until now. I would have LOVED Domino’s, but this was sad burnt cheese on a tortilla.

I can not believe that there is a chef that is in that kitchen allowing this massacre :(

AWESOME FOOD...much better than normal bar food...delicious appetizers especially the Asian cauliflower 😀, great service and the ability to eat outside, lakeside with music most nights Thursday to Saturday. Highly recommended 👌 place after a round of golf to chill, watch Sports on BIG SCREEN TV'S AND enjoy a libation.

I got the fish and chips. The chips tasted better than the fish. The fish was kinda bland, and if you dip it in the tartar sauce, you can't taste the fish at all. The pints are fair priced. Service is a tad slow, but very courteous.

The atmosphere and service were great. The food was pretty mid honestly. With the price I for the chicken sandwich, I expected it to be delicious. It was ok. I've had better and more creative bar food. Also, 80% of the plate was french fries. I'm supposed to limit my carbs, and it wasn't mentioned in the section that it came with a side of fries, let alone a whole mound, or I would have swapped it.

This used to be a regular place for us, then the menu and staff changed. The last time I came here we asked to be seated on the patio. We were told it's a 45-60 min wait at 7pm. Oh, and the credit card machine was down so we would need to pay with cash, check, or write our card numbers on paper to be charged later. With no outside seating, we opted to sit inside. The hostess put us near the backwall and we could see two open tables outside that needed to be bussed. When asked why we couldn't sit there, she said they needed to be cleaned. We were confused as to why cleaning a table would take 45-60min. Anyway, we ended up moving outside. Sadly, the service was slow, and on two occasions we were bought another tables food. Felt like we were at a startup restaurant, not a known Kohler entity. I expect more from a place like this. We won't be back anytime soon. Interesting thing, as soon as we left, our credit cards were charged. Ironically, I guess the card machine came back up.

Absolutely horrible dinner. We brought some guests from out of State to show the kohler restaurants and enjoy the dinner, but it was completely the opposite. There was a table of 12 loud disgruntled drunken Chicago fibs. They were so loud and obnoxious that we couldn’t hear our conversation at all-They just kept shoving those shots like there was no tomorrow -Managers did nothing to help the rest of the diners enjoy their meal. We got a $50 discount for the inconvenience. That’s not what we came there for. Obviously other diners left stating they will never be back very disappointed. The menu was like ridiculous compared, to what used to be.
Alcoholic beverage page was bigger than the food menu -

Bought 4 different starters.
For take out.
The Korean cauliflower was soggy.
The crunchy brussel sprouts salad was just romane lettce and dressing it was missing everything else.
Soup good and the peppers were in a brown sauce no crispy bread crumbs, took this home for a Christmas get together!
Just terrible.
We ordered double full size orders of both.

The main complaint is there air flow. If you sit by the window cold air blows down your neck the entire time. I notices people behind me we wearing their coats. This happened once before when I went to this restaurant, so hadn't returned in a couple years. Thought they would have corrected the issue. The soup was very good and so was the cauliflower side. My husband said his hamburger was just okay -- maybe it was because he was shivering while eating it.

I was seated immediately. So the extensive 50 minute wait time for food caught me off guard. I wish expectations had been set up front. Perhaps they forgot about me? Would not recommend. We had a very negative experience over the weekend while taking my parents out for their 45th anniversary. When I asked our server, Eli, to please put in our food orders at the same time as our appetizer since we have three small children, he refused. Then after we finished our appetizer he told us it would be a long wait until our food was ready, especially since the tables on the outdoor terrace have priority (we had been given an indoor table.) He told us he had an “argument with the kitchen” trying to get us our food. What should have been a special 45th anniversary brunch for my parents was soured by the poor service.

We decided to have brunch at Taverne on Woodlake after visiting Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan.
We called ahead to see if they could seat 4 adults and 3 children (ages 2, 4, and 6) and arrived to a seating for 8 ready for us. About 10-15 minutes later, our server took our order for drinks, appetizer, and main courses. We asked that the order go all together so there would not be a delay between the appetizer and the main course. Our server, Eli, said he would submit the orders so there would be no delay.
After we ate the appetizer, we had to inquire about the status of our main dishes, and Eli said we would have to wait longer because there were guests who received "preferential" treatment before us?!
We have enjoyed meals many times at the Kohler restaurants, more often at Black Wolf Run and the Horse and Plow, and never were treated as 2nd class customers!
We left a nominal tip😞

My server was Tiana and she was awesome. Sweet, happy, attentive and honest about her hesitation to recommend a wine, although she NAILED it. The atmosphere is nice, especially if you get a view of the river. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and the onion/cilantro/tomato chopped topping was very good. (I’ll be recreating this at home). The steak itself, sadly to say, was stringy. It was a ribeye, and I’ve had many. I expected something tender. If you’re going to buy ribeyes and charge $51 dollars for it, buy good, tender, aged ones. This was not acceptable. I won’t be back, but will probably spend more and go to the American Club for my next one since I’ll be here for 3 days for a meeting. Tiana, you were awesome. Sorry the steak wasn’t up to the standard YOU set. Maybe I’ll return and get something else? But I’ll ask for Tiana.

I order Shashito peppers for an appetizer, Expresso Martini for my drink, and the special of the day "Smoked salmon eggs benadic "

I started off with the appetizer Shashito peppers. The presentation was well put together. However, at first bite I was slightly dissapointed. The peppers were left whole so I had to attempt to cut the stem off each pepper I ate. The cream cheese was unseasoned and the peppers were u ncharred leaving them soft, oily and bland. They were topped with bacon, seasoned crumbs and pickled onion.

For my drink I chose the Expresso Martini. I was very impressed with its presentation and flavor! The martini had a nice Froth topped with a hint of powder leaving this drink with a wonderful chocolate kick.

Last was the main course. Smoked Salmon eggs benadic with a side of crispy chips. I cannot express how tasty this meal was. The eggs were poached to a fluffy texture and rich creamy consistent egg yolk middle. Topped with a well seasoned benadic sauce. The kicker was the tangy tomatoe jam adding a real zest to it a all. The Smoked salmon it rested on was potent in a hickory flavor that settled nicely on the pallette and combined well with the over all dish. I would definitely recommend this again. Total spend was $43.00
I even have to give it to the staff. They were polite and on top of things. I do recommend either a reservation for lunch or getting there before the rush or you will have abit of a wait.

8 out of ten would recommend.

If I could give negitive stars I would, to start the evening off the waitress spilled water and didnt seem to care nor wish to clean it up left it up to us to do so, only one person at the table was asked if they would like a refill, when there were others that could have used one at the same time, when asked for others to have refills there was a snide remark made, she came back and passed the glass (as i was about to take a bite of my dinner) infront of my face to the person next to me. The live music was verry loud and hard for us to hear the people we were dining with.( mind you there were only a few other tables occupied at the time). When we recieved the bill, it was plane to see that we weren't quite ready to pay and were asked if change was needed, feeling like we were being pushed to leave. After leaving the bill and funds on the table with the tip that we felt was fair for the service recieved, we recieved a call on our way home and was told that we needed to come back and make it right with the waitress that what was left for her was not enough for her to pay her bills.

This was a most mediocre meal. The drinks were lovely (martini and red wine) and the staff adequate, but I shared an overcooked and under seasoned pizza as well as an overdressed salad that claimed to have roasted tomatoes (hint: they were not blistered and ice cold). Additionally, as seems to be the trend in the lovely village of Kohler, the food was very over-priced and not at all worthwhile. I CANNOT recommend this establishment.

Other than the ostensibly upscale location and view, nothing more than food poorly and half-heartedly executed. Granted, we only had a single lunch here but the 1/3 lb signature burger (supposedly prepared medium-rare) was as dry of a 1/4 lb burger I’ve had. It didn’t seem possible that it was cooked fresh, and the bacon must have been reheated - it was that dry and rubbery. The Taverne Salad was “ok”, but there was almost nothing to it - must have taken almost 30 seconds to toss arugula, 8 croutons, a few sliced carrot pieces and 6 cherry tomatoes into a bowl. The bottled dressing was in a little side bowl. One mediocre salad, one terrible burger, and 2 pretty decent bloody Mary’s make a $69 lunch. Ridiculous. I did tip the waitress because it wasn’t her fault and she was pleasant.

Very nice. Truly a 4.5. Had an early dinner. Bourbon old fashioned was fabulous, with black cherries, get one! Mom had lamb shanks with risotto, she loved them. Portion was great, she had leftovers for sure. I had tenderloin over cutup cauliflower with carmelized onions. Delicious but just enough to fill me up, a much smaller portion. Dessert was fabulous, I had the better choice on that. A mocha icecream with hazelnuts and caramel. Mom had the peach crisp with pistachio crust, very good but paled in comparison to mine. Very nice place! We were traveling, found this place to have a lunch and were delighted. Food was good, tasty and fresh, and there's such a nice patio overlooking the lake with a walking path to take a nice walk after a nice meal.

Excellent. I'm local. First time here, and I noticed how happy everyone was. People were happy to eat here today and its a beautiful day too. We are eating right on the lake.
The food was delicious. The servers were so cordial and helpful. I was lucky to be served by Skylier. What a gentleman. I'll definitely come here again.

My husband and I walked in about 4:45pm and nearly the entire restaurant was empty. We were told they could not seat us because they were "too busy". When I say the restaurant was nearly empty, I mean there were only 3 occupied tables so that is not an exaggeration at all. When I called to talk to a manager, I was told by the girl on the phone that she was the manager. Honestly she sounded like a child. I asked why we were unable to be seated and her response was that there were only 3 waiters and they would not be able to serve us to their standard... So basically each waiter is only capable of serving one table at a time? Interesting business model to say the least. I expected much more from a Kohler restaurant as the Kohler family seems to run a very tight ship throughout their other businesses. We will not be returning.

Kohler, WI. Excited to be here. We checked in at Inn on Woodlake since no more rooms were available at the 5 stars The American Club. Hotel will be on a different review. We enjoyed our food at Taverne on Woodlake. Our server Abby (Alexandra) was very attentive. All her recommendations were awesome! Thank you.

I went here with my daughter and sister-in-law for a quick pre-dinner cocktail and was talked into trying the cauliflower appetizer. It was DELICIOUS! The cauliflower was firm, not mushy, the coating had a hint of spice and the dipping sauce was subtle but flavorful. If you stop here, this dish is a must!

Solid bar and grill. Not sure what the 1-star reviews were expecting. Maybe they thought they were at The Immigrant and not a bar? We had the cauliflower, spinach artichoke dip, tavern burger and a margherita pizza; all were fantastic. If you want Italian food, this probably isn’t your place, but you also shouldn’t slam them for trying to appeal to the entire Kohler crowd.

We had a great experience! Service was quick. We also weren’t there at a busy time, but we ordered the Tavern Burger, tavern fries, and the She Crab soup was awesome! We were happy with the food, great view of the lake. Only comment would be that our server wasn’t really helpful in making recommendations off the menu, but we were happy with our choices.

Yikes. They call this food. We ordered shrimp pizza, fries, the Korean cauliflower, smelt, beyond burger, and others. The cauliflower and fries were decent (best as I can give). The pizza had no flavor. The smelt reeked of really old fish (we were concerned about finishing it). Better to go to Burger King for an imitation burger. There's a lot of great places to eat in Sheboygan. Stay away from this place. It's the worst in the area.

This place is pretty bad, especially when it is part of The American Club collection of restaurants. It doesn't seem like the chef knows what he/she is doing. The ricotta gnocchi were by far the worst gnocchi I've ever had, they were flavorless and had the texture of cream of wheat. The risotto beneath the lamb osso bucco was not cooked properly at all. I am not a chef but have watched enough cooking shows to know the proper texture of risotto. This risotto was grossly undercooked and was like eating corn off the cobb. My wife initially thought it was kernels or corn. I'm floored that a professional chef would put risotto on a plate with that texture and look at it and think it is ok to serve. The rest of the food was decent but not memorable. The restaurant reeks of wood fired smokiness which is not overly pleasant. The cocktail and draft beer is good. Overall, very disappointing for a meal at a 5 diamond resort.

There’s a certain quality expected from kohler that stands true and this place definitely doesn’t meet it.

We got the impossible burger, margherita pizza, fries and Mac and cheese.

The impossible burger feels like a gimmick that they just included to stay relevant. Barely any toppings and felt like I was getting it from a $5 burger stand, they way it was presented.

The pizza was the best thing we had, but still 2/5 stars at best.

French fries were mushy and over seasoned to the point it was assaulting. Definitely would not recommend these.

Mac and cheese was a joke. Heavy cream with some cheddar shredded over the top, plus the amount you get is abysmal.

On top of all of that it was pretty much entirely cold.

Maybe I just had a bad experience my first time, but the other reviews seem to reflect the same. Go to one of many Sheboygan bars for food and get the same quality for 1/2 the price.

This is not a Kohler quality restaurant! This place is horrible, the food taste as bland as bland can be. Not sure who does the cooking but I would not say this was done by a “Chef” or talented home cook. I cannot and will not recommend this place. Pizza was terrible, and way over priced as was the gnocchi, Mac n cheese and even the jalapeño poppers were just flavorless and lousy. Eat here at your own risk! Quite expensive also. Now I have absolutely no problem paying for an even good meal but this just isn’t good. Close the dining room and leave the bar. Be better served having simple bar food.

This was so disappointing. Beautiful setting but the food is not good. I had the Woodlake salad, steak sandwich and the carmelized Brussels sprouts, none of it was good. It all lacked taste and presentation was unappealing at best. Would not recommend this restaurant

Just finished dinner. For starters, fried smelts and stuffed jalapeño were delicious. Main entree - lamb osso bucco and soft shell crabs were excellent. Never expected soft shell crabs to be so well done so far away from the sea. For dessert, cheesecake with blueberry sauce was done just right, not too sweet and not too dense. Our server, Marijo, was absolutely delightful. The restaurant opened a few days ago. I predict it will do very well.
