Great date night spot! We went on a Sunday with no reservation and were able to get outdoor seating right away. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood with music playing the ambiance was still great considering inside is a bit noisy. Our server Laura was a pro and so so nice. We ordered the bruschetta and a local IPA to start, followed by the picatta and paglia with ceasar salad and ended with a tiramisu to-go for desert. Portions were big and filling, everything cooked to perfection. Great price for real italian food!

Not sure where all the high ratings are from, I definitely did not have a 5 star experience. Arrived at 450pm I wasn't greeted for almost 10 minutes, the lady rudely told me they are booked until 8pm with reservations I "HAD" to sit at the bar if wanted to eat. There were roughly 5 or 6 open tables. Ordered the house special pizza. Very dry and hard crust, not much flavor and very skimpy on the cheese (in Wisconsin). Maybe it was an off night but it definitely was not worth the wait and bad food.

Firstly, we probably waited over 20-30 minutes over our reservation time to get seated at our table. Appetizers were nothing great. One member of our party was served a dead fly in their ravioli. Was given one sorry and a complimentary pudding. No apologizes from management and no entree comp. Disgusting. Food was nothing special either. Will NOT be back & will certainly not recommend to others.

Loved this spot! Had a double date with some friends and every moment was great from start to finish. Wonderful Italian food in a quiet neighborhood setting. Tables outside if the weather permits and a super laid back vibe that made for an incredible meal. Everything we ordered from staples like carbonara and Bolognese, to the salmon on truffled cauliflower were absolutely top notch. Flavorful, fresh ingredients, hearty portions and all washed down with a wide choice of wine or cocktail. Highly recommend the Capone Manhattan! Staff were brilliant. Attentive and fun but not overbearing at all. Prices were fair. Parking was pretty easy, but is on street. Very enjoyable meal. Will definitely be back.

I've been visiting this neighborhood Italian restaurant for years. The Carpaccio is the best I've ever had. The bread is amazing. The pizza is yummy. The Bistecca is to die for, but on my last visit, I tried the Chicken Marsala. It's hard to beat Sala's on Hampshire St. but, OMG, the Marsala was the very, very, best, EVER!!! I did switch out the mashed potatoes for spaghetti noodles w garlic butter and asked for extra Marsala sauce,(a must).
Tenuta's is a charming little place tucked within the neighborhood. They offer a large selection of wines and cocktails and a substantial menu. They have a cute little outdoor patio for dining as well. Tenuta's is always busy, so a reservation is wise. They do have a nice size bar, but that's usually busy as well. The staff is friendly and service is always great. I've gone in by myself at times and never have I felt out of place. I just love Tenuta's. I know you will too. ♡

Hands down, this is one of our favorite places in Milwaukee! My husband and I like to sit at the bar and eat because 1.) the lady bartenders rule and; 2.) we always seem to strike up engaging conversation with our fellow bar-mates. Went for a friends birthday dinner first time going to this place and I ordered the Pesca it was amazing the top was nice and crisp was a good texture and the asparagus was tender. Usually I’m not the biggest fan of Risotto but this one was so good! BEWARE: “STUFFED CRUST” IS A COMPLETE SCAM

Let me save you from making the same mistake I did. If you order the “stuffed crust” pizza here thinking you’ll get a crust filled with gooey, melted cheese—don’t. What they serve is a sad, doughy mess with zero cheese in the crust. It’s false advertising, plain and simple.

When I asked the staff why there was no cheese, I was met with blank stares and told that “stuffed crust” just means they fold the crust over itself. No explanation on the menu. No cheese. No logic. Just dry, chewy bread masquerading as something it’s not.

And when I asked how a customer is supposed to know this bizarre definition of “stuffed,” I was told: “You wouldn’t.” Absolutely unreal.

The crust was 90% bread, flavorless, and completely inedible. I’ve loved plenty of dishes here before, but this experience was so ridiculous it bordered on insulting. Fix your menu—or stop calling it stuffed crust. This was a joke.

Tonight was our first time eating at Tenuta’s Italian Restaurant. WOW! The food was amazing! The service was great…. And the atmosphere was perfect. Everything thing we ordered was delicious! I had the lasagna…. It was one of the best I have ever eaten. The noodles were fresh. The sauce was delicious! And it was super cheesy…. Just like I like it. The pizza was incredible! We ate at outside tables on the sidewalk. Great atmosphere! We all gave Tenuta’s Italian Restaurant 5 stars! We will be back for sure! Highly recommended.

Hadn't been there in years but it's still very very good. We had the arancini to start. Then the scampi for the pasta course then then chicken piccata for secondi. All great. The only negative was that they brought the primi and the secondi at the same time. My wife and I intended to share each as they came. We had to ask for en extra plate and it was awkward to wrangle both dishes around on the table. I understand this is the typical American way to serve a meal (each person gets an entree), and next time I'll be sure to specify how we'd prefer it brought to us. Otherwise, excellent and the service and atmosphere were welcoming.

We have been here before and liked it so much we had to come back. I had the mushroom ravioli and it was delicious. We prefer the thin crust pizza rather than the Virgin crust(I think it’s called that). We haven’t had the thick crust yet. Everyone loved their food. We had salads with our meal made with field greens. The dressings were good. The bread that they serve at the table is very good. I could have ate lots but wanted to save room for my entree. I had a French 75. I didn’t care for it but drank it anyway. I wish I could name all the dishes but I only paid attention to mine. Definitely will be back again when we are in Milwaukee. We live 60 miles away and were there for a baseball game. I would recommend calling for a reservation. The place is small and is very busy.

I downed my drink because Hostess knew we already paid so wanted us to go now. There were several empty tables but Hostess said they had others to seat. What a beautiful place with excellent food! We came here on a Friday night not realizing we needed a reservation, because it is not busy! You know it’s good if they unfortunately have to turn you away because they are booked solid. We weren’t upset, we just knew we needed to go back! Oh.. my this is a first for me.. We are renting an Airbnb right across from this restaurant. My husband has had food here once before while working in this area. Well, while visiting, we decided to eat here our first night. Our kids wanted cheese stuffed crust.

This is the worst pizza I have ever tried in my life. My 12 year old daughter said it was really bad, and she could swallow, and she spit out. Oh my, I thought she was messing with me. I had to spit out, too..

The top was so covered in seasoning that no one could eat this. Then I messed with me, and I was able to take off the first layer of seasoning and cheese. Then, the pizza looked more normal. But then I tried still too much seasoning underneath. I don't know if they just messed up ours, but no one could eat this, let alone a child without getting sick. Thankfully, my husband and I got something different so our kids could still eat. The face of my toddler was so funny.. I thought we got lucky to have a restaurant right in front of us to get food while we are here for a month. They really just lost a lot of money from us.

While in Muscatine milwakee, we order from Salvatore's a couple times a week. We ordered so much that they knew us by name and sent free food to our kids. When it comes to pizza, u really shouldn't have this issue, and no one could not, notice they messed up on this order. So that means they left it like this and didn't care.

As u can see, we pulled off the extra layer of seasoning that was on top of the extra cheese we ordered. the bottom half of the pizza had half the amount of seasoning underneath, too. Which was way overboard with just half seasoning.

We wasted money on this order. I never give bad reviews, but I have never seen someone mess up this bad and give it to someone.

We are obsessed with Tenuta’s! Had a wonderful Valentines Dinner! Very busy!!! I always recommend a reservation. The bar is a happening place to hang out also! This is TRUE MOM and POP Italian! The flavors are fresh and unique and pleasingly consistent every time! I absolutely love their salmon with sweet potato purée and Brussels sprouts. It is topped with fresh thyme and the portions are generous! Their warm focaccia bread is soft spongy and flavorful. Don’t miss this opportunity to taste some of the best! It is adorably centered in a residential neighborhood.

My wife and I have lived a stone's throw from Tenuta's for over five years now and we order takeout every few months or so. My first and only experience dining in was about five years before THAT, on a Saturday evening around 7pm. Had a short wait time for a table (<10 min). Atmosphere, food, and courteousness and speed of service were all top notch. Love the intimacy and warmth of the dining room. It IS a cozy and somewhat romantic atmosphere but it is also just one small-ish room, so it can get a bit raucous during peak times with people and families having fun dining together so be aware of that. For dine-in the calamari was a standout for me; melt-in-your-mouth and had a crispy, light breading. As far as carryout, the pizza is consistently excellent and always hot and fresh. Crispy, tender, TRULY thin crust, sauce is both sweet and tangy, and pie has just the right amount of toppings: by no means skimpy, but not overloaded or weighing down the pie. Never greasy; I don't feel the need to blot the pies we get topped with pepperoni. We've never had to wait more than a few minutes beyond our promised pickup time, even when they're slammed. Audra, the hostess we usually deal with, is bubbly, very pleasant to chat with, and efficient--she's great at her job. As long as Tenuta's exists, we'll continue to dine there.

Let the gorgeous exterior of Tenuta's pull you in to the start of a beautiful adventure for your senses. My husband and I spent our anniversary dinner here, and I am so thankful he surprised me with it.
The interior of the resteraunt is very classy, but with a intimate vibe that makes you feel completely comfortable. Once seated we were greeted by our server Kellen, and from then on it was one amazing thing after another. We struggled to make our choices for dinner because EVERYTHING sounded amazing. We landed on brushetta for an appetizer, and shrimp scampi and bistecca for the main meal as well as a pizza to take home. The bruschetta was perfect. Light crispy bread with quality tomatoes and the balsamic vinegar. You could truly tell that the quality was amazing. We ended up adding tomatoes to our pizza because of the brushetta. That speaks volumes. Our meals came with a small garden salad and after speaking to Kellen we landed on their garden goddess dressing. Again, my expectations were knocked out of the park. I do not eat salads with dressings, but when I tell you this dressing was perfect. A perfect compliment not to powerful not too mild. My bistecca was so savory. The Gnocchi was perfectly cooked, the mushrooms flavorful, and the flank steak tender and rich. My husband's scampi had a garlic butter sauce which paired with the fresh shrimp was the perfect compliment to a seafood meal. The pizza, which was ordered mainly to take home for later we couldn't resist taking a few pieces from. The dough was fresh and just the right thickness, the sauce was amazing as well as the cheese and tomatoes of course. The tiramasu for dessert was the perfect treat to end the night. Special mention as well for our waiter Kellen. Truly great service, advice, attention to detail, and ect. Amazing.

I come here every year on my birthday and order this dish and the chocolate martini of course and it never disappoints. If I had to pick one meal for the rest of my life it would be the Zucca. I see a lot of the same staff every year, only downside is the location is small. But cozy. One of the best places I have ever eaten at hands down.

Where's the sauce on the pizza? Crust was bone dry. First time I ordered something from here because I heard good news of this place. Very unlike the other few places I go to for pizza! It had no Italian flavor whatsoever even the sausage! Pizza lacked in flavor overall except for the cheese on it. Was there a sauce shortage?? I am a pizza expert on taste all my life. And this one lacks a lot, sorry.

We visited Tenuta’s Italian Restaurant in Milwaukee on a busy Thursday evening around 7:45 PM. The restaurant was packed, and with no indoor seating available, we opted to sit outside, which turned out to be a pleasant experience. However, after sitting at our table for 30 minutes without service, I had to flag down a passing server to assist us. Despite the awkward situation, the server handled it gracefully and took over our table.

Once we placed our order, everything proceeded smoothly. Our drinks and food arrived promptly. I ordered the Al Capone cocktail, which was so delicious I ended up having two. For an appetizer, we had the carpaccio, which was flavorful, though I found the amount of arugula to be a bit excessive.

For my main course, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. The chicken was perfectly cooked—tender and juicy—and the pasta and sauce were rich and flavorful, complementing the dish wonderfully.

Despite the initial wait for service, the overall experience was excellent. The quality of both the food and the service made up for the rough start, and I would highly recommend Tenuta’s to anyone looking for great Italian food in Milwaukee. I look forward to returning soon.

Such an amazing little place. I wish I had this type of place in my town. Great little spot and the food was phenomenal. Reminds me of a little Italian grandma's house and the food was on par. From the meats balls to the chicken Parm it was all better than you could hope for.

I went because of a lot of good buzz. I was pretty disappointed with much of the experience. Maybe it got too much hype and I expected more but the food was bland. We had to wait over 20 minutes, even with a reservation. It is a cute place and presentation was great. I may try again for pizza but I will probably not get an entre or appetizer again. If you read my other reviews, I would go back to most places but probably not Tenutas.

Went there for a late bite and enjoyed it. We grabbed two salads and a pizza. We choose the virgin crust pizza (hand tossed) and it was a bit thicker/denser than expected, but was decent. Do not recommend walking in on a Friday or Saturday night - make a reservation. We got lucky and spot opened up at the bar, or it would have been a 90-minute wait.

This is an excellent establishment. Food, service, and atmosphere are awesome. Because of its location, parking can be a challenge. Arrive early and enjoy. The outside tables were open on our last visit.

Everything was great! Ate outside, and it rained on us. Maybe the restaurant should invest in tents to go with their tables but they are not able to control the weather.

I ordered calamari. It was super fresh!
Dinner dish was chicken marsala, and wife had the Bistecca. Absolutely delicious!

The waitress gave a tiramisu on the house because of the rain. Thank you!

SO SAD!! Tenuta's restaurant on Clement Ave. in Milwaukee used to be our favorite pizza take out place. Until yesterday. We ordered our usual pizza and we're so absolutely disappointed.

Our usual was a cheese, sausage, mushroom, onion, black olive pizza. It was up to yesterday, so good. Yesterday's pizza had a lot of cheese, maybe 6 or 7 small pieces of Italian sausage(smaller than a dime), some onions, hardly any mushrooms and very few black olives( maybe 7 or 8 slices). I get it, the economy has a grip on everyone but this?

It was such a disappointment that we may not go there again. So, throughout our entire dinner my wife and I just couldn't believe how flavorless and ingredient(less) the pizza was.

I don't like giving negative reviews but someone at the restaurant needs to know their pizza was very substandard. Also so sad we likely will never get pizza there again.
