I’ve been a loyal Texas Roadhouse regular for the past 3–4 years, usually dining in at least twice a month with my wife and son. We always stick to our go-to dishes with no changes. But this last visit? It completely changed the game for us—and it was all thanks to one exceptional server.

We ordered our usual meals, nothing new, but our server, who I really wish I could remember the name of was on another level. Not only was he incredibly friendly and professional, but he brought an energy and enthusiasm that instantly made us feel like we were in for something special.

He asked if I wanted to load my green beans, which I’d never even considered before. At first I thought it was a little odd, but he encouraged me to give it a shot. I’m not easily convinced, but I gave in and it was mind-blowingly good. He also suggested loading the rice, corn, and veggies for my wife and son. Again, no pressure at all just great, genuine suggestions from someone who clearly knows the menu and cares about the experience.

It honestly felt like he upgraded our entire meal. The food was amazing as always, but the added flavors took it to another level. His service wasn’t just good, it was memorable. He elevated our night with simple, thoughtful recommendations and made us feel like valued guests, not just another table.

The only downside? Our bill went up about $10 with all the loaded sides but honestly, it was worth every cent. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Texas Roadhouse is always amazing, but this visit reminded me why we keep coming back. That server has a real gift. If management happens to read this: you’ve got someone really special on your team.

Update: We went back, and the amazing server I mentioned before is Eddie! Be sure to request him if you visit, he truly made our experience great. Unfortunately, we had a different server this time, and when we asked about loaded green beans or corn, she said she’d never heard of it and didn’t even try to find out how it’s done. So we ended up with just plain corn and green beans. Definitely ask for Eddie if you want the full experience!

While some other chains have had the quality of the dining experience go down, Texas Roadhouse has kept up it's exceptional experience. I want to take a moment to highlight the amazing service we received during our recent visit, all thanks to our waitress. From the moment we were seated, she treated us with genuine respect and warmth, making us feel like more than just another table to serve. She was attentive without being overbearing, kind without being fake, and professional while still being down-to-earth. It honestly felt like she cared about giving us a good experience, and that really stood out. She made us feel truly welcome, like we belonged there.

Took my mom to dinner last night, Thursday. I had done the wait list seating. I wasn't thorough on reading the text... it said to send REMOVE when your full party had arrived. I sent that as we walked in and I told the hostess I had done the ahead seating with our confirmation number. She looked at her stuffs...informed me I should be sending HERE as remove will do just that for my name on the list! She said it wasn't a problem since there was no wait yet but she wanted me to know so it wasn't an issue at a later date. I thanked her for her clarification and that I appreciated her! On to dinner... the delightful TJ was our server. He was ever so accommodating when we noticed the only ceiling fan on was the one next to our table, so we asked if it could be turned off? Poor TJ, trying to reach the chain....then it was pulled to the point it was cycling on high. He found his manager and there is a wall switch to make it easier, but thank you for being so accommodating!! The food....was delicious!! I always enjoy that my side salad comes out on a cold plate. When we asked TJ for a second butter for our rolls... he brought out another roll basket with two butters!! Above and Beyond. Thank you TJ and Texas Roadhouse for providing us a the delicious meal coupled with delightful and attentive service we have come to know and appreciate from other restaurants in your chain, we will be back, cheers!

Went twice in the last 5 weeks and neither time disappointed. We will never get or give a Texas roadhouse gift certificate from your restaurant. Spending over $500 in gift certificates and then being treated like this is poor business to say the least. Never as good as you want it to be. The food was average for a Texas Roadhouse so no real complaints there. Our server Scarlet was very nice and accommodating, she checked on us a number of times and quickly brought refills. When checking in the hostess Amelia set a poor tone for our overall experience. She was not warm and welcoming but blunt and semi aggressive. One of our group members was running a bit behind and wasn’t at the restaurant yet. We understood that they have a rule that incomplete parties can’t be seated however in a half empty restaurant I’m not sure it would have mattered. But the rudeness this was explained to the group multiple times wasn’t necessary.

We had been going to this Texas Roadhouse at least twice a month for years and had a stretch about 1.5 years ago where the ribeyes we ordered came out pitch black so we quit going. About a year ago we started going back and things were ok until 2 months ago. About 2 months ago we ordered the bone in ribeye and it was burnt black. They tried to disguise it by putting the burnt side down. My husband ate what he could and then shared my meal with me. We didn’t complain bc we were in a hurry. We avoided the steaks on our next visits until tonight. The server talked us into a fresh cut special 23oz bone in ribeye and said it was about $4-5 more than the 20 ounce on the menu. Well it was $8 more and when the steak came out it was charred black and definitely did not look like a 23oz steak!! The steak was $40. I tried 2 small bites and my husband tried 3 while we waited for our server to come back ( which took a while). We told her it was burnt black. She took it to the manager and he came back out with the steak and apologized and said he was sorry but it was a special cut and he was out of them. I told him it would be ok to just get us a 20oz. Then he said well it looks like you ate most of the steak (we had a another couple with us that looked at him in surprise and said no they didn’t and we said the same thing) so I can’t do that for you. He told us we could just cut the black char off. It was everywhere!!!! He said he could adjust our bill a little. (Went home and ate after we left). To top it off there was a nail or staple sticking out from the seat and my husband had shorts on and cut his leg in multiple places on it sliding into the booth. The manager said oh thanks for letting me know and walked off. Should have gone to the freight house or outback. Definitely would have been better all around. (Afterthought I took a picture after my husband decided to eat some of it since he had to pay for it. He shouldn’t have…he was sick all night.) My husband told me he would have walked out but didn’t because we were with another couple.

We were traveling through La Crosse, WI and stopped at Texas Roadhouse. My wife and I ordered the ribeye and shrimp. When they brought our food to us they had spilled the butter from the shrimp on her steak, she ate a couple of bites of her steak and it didn’t taste good with the butter on it. She had ate her potato by the time the waitress came back and was just full after the bread, peanuts and potato. The waitress asked the manager, Alexus, to come over. Alexus asked if we wanted another steak and we explained that we are traveling through and have no way of keeping the steak and that as my wife was already full we would prefer her to simply adjust the bill. I even told her, "we ate the shrimp. I am not asking you to take the entire meal off simply adjust the price a little." She became very condescending and said, "we don't really like to do that, we just make it right with food." She was COMPLETELY unwilling to accept that her staff made a mistake and make it right in a way that was acceptable under the circumstances.

I have been to multiple Texas Roadhouses and this is by far the worst service I have received! If you visit La Crosse eat somewhere else!

The first thing I noticed is the employees had to break where the customers could see them. The second thing I noticed was how narrow all the winding walkways were, between the many tables. I saw no fewer than 5 times that two people either ran into each other or came within three inches of a head to head. I swallowed a bad piece and wanted to go spit it out in the bathroom but couldn't. I waited for over twenty minutes and couldn't get into the only toilet available (same shoes for that whole time, underneath). One toilet in a steak place. (There may have been a second toilet but the changing room was butted up to the women's room so they took control of that one.) The men's room had a 5x7 garbage can opening that was overfilling and two urinals (useless for spitting up a bad bite). The only good spot here was the employees. They were all bubbly, positive, and absolutely the best they could possibly be. I'd rank this Texas Roadhouse a 5 if I could only ignore the horrid building design. Order to go if you really need to spend a hundred dollars some night.

I'm hoping my first review went thru?? My Family and I were here on Monday, April 7th for my Grandson's Birthday! Everything was Amazing including our server Calie! Steaks were cooked to perfection and they replaced my Granddaughter's chair which was broken. Buns are always amazing! Food came fast!
It was super busy and cold outside! I understand updating to accommodate to go orders but they removed all indoor waiting so you can sit outside and freeze in the only wait area or take your beeper and sit in your car. Really think that layout could have been thought out differently. It is now even more cramped in the walk in by the hostess stand and ppl line up along the booths which is awkward when you are trying to have a relaxing dinner.

really had a wonderful bday lunch on a weekend. went in at open for my nana who struggles with busy/loud environments. we had probably the best seating avail for her state of being. our server was i think an alyssa or an alexis, and i hate that i can't remember, but she was so awesome and nice and patient. i love my family but they haven't been in the service industry in ages, if ever. we were celebrating my bday but our awesome server didn't embarass me at all, she was very lowkey and person-focused which i appreciated. she also accomodated my dietary preferences which i so appreciate. thanks girl!

Ordered a 8oz. Dallas filet. I ended up with a dried up sirloin steak. Got charged $24.99, the price of the 8oz. Filet.
Then when we were paying the check we gave the waitress 2 gift cards. One was a $25, the other was a partial $100 card that had $30.91 left on it. The waitress brought the receipt back to us. It said we still owed $38.00.
I called her back over and she said she scanned both gift cards.
There was only the $25 card listed on the receipt. I continued to tell her that the $30.91 gift card wasn't scanned. She insisted it was. I didn't want to argue anymore so we left.
Overcharged and the wrong steak. My boyfriend said his was good.
I doubt I will ever be back again.

I had the sirloin. I wasn't impressed. It honestly tasted like it was past its prime. I've had great experiences in the past here, and I'm sure it was a bad time. T.R.H. will do better, I have faith.

We were in La Crosse for my daughter's graduation Sunday, decided to grab late lunch/early dinner. I realize it was very busy and a touch chaotic. We were told 15-25 minutes to get seated, I think it was about 15 so things were going well. We all (6 of us) ordered, when the food was brought out mine was incorrect. I ordered a filet, done medium, what was brought out was a sirloin well-done. I mentioned it to the person that delivered the food, she said she'd send our waitress back. The waitress arrived with "Is there a problem here?". I explained that I had the wrong food, she insisted that it was correct. I can tell the difference between a well-done sirloin and a medium filet. My wife had ordered the exact same thing as I did and our meals looked totally different. The waitress just insisted that I got a medium filet and walked away. My wife and daughter were both happy with their food. My potatoes were cold, I think there was just a mix-up of what plates were brought out. Pretty disappointing experience all in all.
