Tom Ka S2 is off the charts! Get it with rice and pour the rice in the soup, you will be happy and your soul will be soothed!!!

The (pork) pad thai here is weirdly heavy, one-dimensional, and unpleasant to eat. I can't even really place what it's missing besides the pork being weirdly tough and rubbery. I still have heartburn hours later. Service was perfectly reasonable, no knock on them for that.

Looked up their menu online and their website clearly states open until 9pm. I called at exactly 8:31pm and was told that they stop taking orders for take out at 8:30pm. If that is the case, then you may want to state that on your website. What a poor business decision! Just wow! I will never step foot in this business again.

I called Sa Bai Thong 2 minutes later and they were happy to take our order. Better food anyway!

*** Update. 4 years later I still haven't been back once. Sounds like they have gone downhill even more.

Really like this, but it definitely is small. Love their Chicken Pad Thai. Their Pho is also really good, as are the Roast Duck Curry and the Squash Curry. Just really good, satisfying meals.

I recently ate here while attending a convention. I had the chicken larp, papaya salad, chicken wings and khao neiu. All of it was excellent! I especially liked that they put the papaya salad in a bag.. great idea to keep the juices from falling out of the container and making a mess! Very short wait on the carry out order! I will be back!

I was actually surprised by the food. Must've hit it on a good day. Flavors were good. Fresh spring rolls tasted like they had just been put together. Duck curry was pretty good. Could have had more veggies (strong on the potatoes and bamboo), but still had a good flavor. Nice portion sizes. Service was fairly crappy, though. Had TV news on fairly loudly. Really could've gone without that.

I used to love this place, but I have to agree with the recent reviews—it's just NOT GOOD anymore. The spring rolls had an unappetizing texture and taste; I couldn’t even finish the first one and ended up throwing it away. The spicy tofu lo mein was disappointing as well—mushy angel hair-like noodles and shreds of tofu. The ratio was totally off; I’d say only about 5% of the dish consisted of tiny bits of vegetables or scrambled egg. I ordered it at the highest spice level, but it was hardly even mild; my nose didn’t even run. What a shame! I recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Ordered 3 meals for take out rice placed in plastic bag and was a complete mushy mess. LARB was terrible. Little taste and ground chicken chewy. Ramen so spicy it was inedible. This place use to serve good food. Completely disappointed.

I like to support small businesses. The drunken noodles tasted nothing like the dish I love. Noddles were not right, flavor was off, lots of gnats. It was so bad I went to Barriques to eat.

I tend to only order takeout, but thought a review was due. I get the green coconut curry dish with chicken and a spice level of three on occasion. It has some heat, but I like spicy food. This dish is very good. The veggies seem to be well cooked and the flavors are great. One order is enough for two good-sized servings. I’ve tried green curries elsewhere in the area and they aren’t nearly as good as this one.
I also had an order of veggie egg rolls. Very good! I loved the lighter/flaky casing with the supplied sweet-like sauce. Not your typical heavy egg roll with a side of high fructose corn syrup.

Keep up the good work!

incredibly disappointed in flavor of food. was really excited that there was a family owned thai place (at least thats what was on their site) but the food was very bland. the pad see yew pictured had these noodles that i’ve personally havent seen in this type of dish and they varied a lot in texture. not sure if this was just a weekend thing, but sad to say i will not be coming back

Edit 2024: This place has gone downhill. What a shame. The guy working the counter really didn't want me to buy peanut sauce. "I'd have to charge you 4.50 for a little thing of it, and we're running low".

It was 2 in the afternoon. How are they out of peanut sauce before midday? He was pretty unfriendly, too.

My crab rangoons barely had any cream cheese, too.

They are stingy now. It's not worth what they charge in prices.

2019: I've been coming for almost a decade! I absolutely love this hidden treasure of Madison. Wonderful homemade food.

I ordered the drunken noodles. Description on website says that the drunken noodles come in a “thick spicy sauce” but what I got was noodles and chicken in broth/soup with no flavor. I called to ask to make sure I got the right food and the guy who I talked to did not seem to care whether I enjoyed the food or not. I explained that when I think of a thick sauce I don’t think of a broth or soup and he just said “that’s how we do it”. Don’t get wrong, If that’s how it is that’s fine, but then change the description on the website because what is described is not what I got in my opinion. The only reason I gave a star on the food is because the crab ragoon and spring rolls were decent. Can’t say that I’ll be returning. Also find employees/managing staff that want to make it right when you have a customer who is unsatisfied with their food when ultimately it could have been avoided if your menu descriptions were right!

Much like many of the most recent reviews, I hate writing a poor review. I've eaten at this restaurant for years and something just seems off lately. Yes, the menu says "All prices are $1.50 higher than what's on the printed menu". Yes, the signs say open until 9, kitchen closes at 830pm. Yes, I had four friends in town and we were planning on dining in. Arrived at 6:50pm and was told the dining area is closed". Yes, the same gentleman who's always at the desk (who I assume is the owner/manger), just seemed annoyed that we were ordering.

All of this I guess I can live with because the food has been spectacular. But this experience was so disappointing.

We ordered the drunken noodles, which another recent reviewer stated was bland and soupy...and that was exactly how we received our order. We also ordered the Pad Z You, there was little to no flavor or any of the brown soy sauce. We asked for it without broccoli, and we didn't get the scrambled eggs either.

Lastly, we ordered pad thai. A friend was trying this dish for the first time, and myself and the others tasted his dish...same result. Bland, little to no sauce. Not sure if he'll try pad thai again.

And if this is how the food is supposed to be, I totally understand. But this is not what the food has been like for the last few years. The only saving grace was the crab rangoons, which I continue to claim are some of the best in town. Those were still great.

With that said, I'll continue to be a customer. But watching the reviews dip significantly over the last few months is concerning. Love this restaurant, hope they turn it around.

Food was just okay. I ordered one of the curries and it seemed to be lacking sweetness from the coconut milk maybe even water-down. The sticky rice was overdone could tell immediately by the texture.

The customer service was unpleasant. I wouldn’t say the Caucasian man was rude but his demeanor seemed cold and unwelcoming.

Overall, I wouldn’t go out of my way to order takeout from here again.

I’ve been a long time customer and can’t believe the reviews as of late. This place is excellent. The service is fine. It’s a busy take out joint and in dining options might be limited. Give some grace to hard working people in the restaurant industry. The drunken noodles are great and if you want more flavor, order a higher spice level. They give you that option. If your food is bland it’s probably not spicy. The spring rolls are fresh and delicious. I love the make your own curry options. I hope they keep surviving as times are rough and bad reviews suck.

Unpleasant service, worse food. I've been here about once every couple years because it's long enough to forget how bad the experience is. Most recently, ordered the drunken noodles which were soupy, bland, and a low ratio of noodles (mostly bamboo shoots). Requested an ingredient removed and it was not. Also ordered crab rangoons which were undercooked. Can't recommend.

I feel bad writing bad reviews, but this place was just so odd in many of its practices. It says on the door of the restaurant and on Google Maps that it’s open until 9pm on Mondays (the day of the week I went). It also says it’s open for dine-in. I planned to dine in, and they told me it was too late for me to dine in (7:30pm). That’s totally fine if they didn’t have the staffing for it! Maybe they could write on their hours that was posted on their door that they have dine-in hours and take out only hours. Not a big deal. So then I ordered take out. Drunken noodle (otherwise known as pad kee mao) with chicken. Prices have rose a little due to growing costs of everything, which is totally fine. Just maybe a little weird to have a sign that says “all prices on the menu are $1.50 more than it says” (don’t quote me on the dollar amount increase though), vs. reprinting their menus. Maybe it’s just me who finds that weird. Finally, I get my food and go home, and my food does not look like drunken noodle at all. It’s soupy. It’s not supposed to be soupy. Its supposed to be sauce-y. It’s very bland. The rice noodles have an odd texture to them. As cheap as this dish was, I wish I paid more for something better. Overall, not a good experience from start to finish.

I called for a pickup order. The person who answered was unfriendly and seemed a bit rude. Once I got my food and opened it at home, I was extremely disappointed. I ordered karee noodles and the dish was a very pale color. It was a bad sign right away. When I tried it, it was so bland and had no flavor. The vegetables and tofu also had no flavor. There was barely any sauce for the “curry” part. The noodles were so soggy, they were no longer noodles and instead the size of one inch pieces. The car ride home was less than 10 minutes. I am never getting food from here again.

Lisa and I had fun ordering takeout from this restaurant today for our breakfast-lunch-supper meal. Sometimes just before the holidays you gotta have that one giant meal where you can't eat anything else the rest of the day because you ate so much for "BREAKFASTLUNCHSUPPER."

Anyhoo...this is a wonderful spot for Thai food with an incredible, friendly staff who is helpful, kind, and caring and ready to help you find something to your liking. Although I must say, for the Wannebo's... just about everything on this menu is to our liking.

For those of you/us still operating on a literal level, when I say something is ridiculous...I mean it is ridiculously good. At least in my opinion...the food is next level good. So here goes:

The egg rolls and spring rolls are ridiculous. (Remember...that means next level good 👍😊). The chicken pad Thai is super plus good delicious ridiculous delicious. The spicy pork pho soup was ridiculous. The Pad Panang Beef and Pad Panang Chicken were both Main Dishes with thick coconut curry sauce that included broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots served with steamed jasmine rice... equally ridiculous (mmm...so good... you're getting it!). And then for the adventurous seafood lovers in the family, like our son Brett...try the ridiculously yummy Tum Yum Talay Hang...a.k.a. P7 under Main Dishes. It includes Shrimp, Squid, Scallops, and mussels stir-fried with white and straw mushrooms in chili paste, topped with cilantro and green onions. Thank you so much to our new friends at Thai Noodles. We will most definitely be back!

Although we have enjoyed the food there over the years, a particular male that works there is just unfriendly. Unfortunately, he is often the one to answer the phones and it is not uncommon that he informs you he is "done taking orders", as he often closes early. Closing is listed as 8:30pm and we attempt to order earlier than 8pm, knowing they may close early (and we do understand closing early when business has slowed down- I have worked in the restaurant business, so I get it). But he relays that message in a rude, awkward manner. If other staff answer the phone, they are always friendly, take your order (or kindly inform you if they are closing early) and it is a pleasant experience. But at this point, I would rather take my business elsewhere than risk interacting with him. Even when he does take the order, he just isn't pleasant to interact with- I feel like I am inconveniencing him by placing an order at all.

This is hands down the best Thai food in the entire Madison area. They make really awesome Thai food, and it’s not the watered-down-with-sugar-syrup stuff that some of the other Thai places in Madison seem to sadly have. Every single dish I’ve had here has been excellent - for instance, the Tom Kha soup is brilliant, and the Green Curry is simply astounding. The Khao Pad Gaeng Daeng is pure heaven on a plate - try it without eggs for a spicier kick. And, their fresh spring rolls are delightful, as is the Pad Phed. We’ve also had the drunken noodles and yellow curries, and those are pretty neat too.

The best part is you can pretty much substitute any protein choice, and the resultant dishes still taste divine. Oh, and lest I forget - you have definitely got to try out their smoked chilli sauce. It’s the greatest sauce you’ll ever try! This place Rocks!!!

I had this delicious pho and added Sriracha to it also ordered the duck curry which was good had to get familiar with the taste due to not wating it before. It was cooked and was crispy very tender as well. This place is great give it a try also the staff is awesome as well.

Tried to order beef laab 3 times now and they were out of beef. How do you run out of a main protein so often?

Possibly the most unpalatable “Thai” food I’ve ever had. Soupy yet bland noodles, with a flavor like any spices had sat around until they were stale. Really and truly awful.

I give the food a 5 star rating, but the second time I ordered, the order was confirmed. After 2 hours and no delivery, I reached out, but they were closed. Never received order, and as it is around closing time other places were closed as well. Was a bummer. But still recommend the food.

I am sure I have reviewed before. Mostly always good food, portion sizes and fresh spring rolls. This time the rices was really clumpy and cold. Also front desk staff is getting burnt out from all take out, so it seems. Hang in there and we will keep buying if your food remains good!

This place is amazing! Their Jungle Curry is to die for (#2 spice), be careful though, it's addicting!!! This is a staple on our list of places to get food from. Never disappoints! Thank you Thai Noodles.

One of favorite Thai restaurants in Madison! We grabbed takeout once to try them out, and we've been back at least once a month since. Ongoing menu exploration is going well! I got taste for Thai while living in Milwaukee, and this is one of only two places we've found in Madison that is comparable to the quality of what you can find in larger cities. Our of frustration with Madison's options, I learned to make my own tom kha soup. Now I don't have to! Thai Noodles makes it just as well as my favorite Thai restaurants in Milwaukee! Make sure to order a side of the wet chili paste. The flavor is amazing, and if you truly love hot food, you want to kick their 4-star spice scale up a notch.

Super good COVID procedures - limited number of customers allowed inside, and your takeout food is placed on a table for you to grab. Good value.

I am not sure what has changed since the other reviewers ate there and last night but this is not good food. It is flavorless, watery and the pad thai tastes like ketchup noodles. Maybe a powdered sauce? There are much better Thai restaurants in Madison. Don't do it; save your money and go to Sala Thai or Sa-Bai Thong. I do not have one good thing to say. It's simply bad food.

I enjoy the food, I don’t know if it’s authentic. It’s flavorful and good portions. They’re a little light on the spice, but will add more you ask. I’ve only ever had take out from here.

2020 edit: they’ve started putting some weird, dry grey “meat” in their spring rolls that is an incredibly off putting texture. The past two times we did take out, the person working the register was not wearing a mask, so if that’s a thing that matters to you, in either way, there you go.

We love this place and even more so now that they deliver. We love the Jungle Curry in particular which is amazing. We've been branching out into other dishes and enjoy the Pad Panang as well. Of course, all of the appetizers are awesome as well. Our favorite place to order from that is nearby.

I have ordered multiple times from Thai Noodles and have never been disappointed! The Khewtiew Beef Pho is probably my favorite meal option. The broth is incredibly flavorful and you get quite a lot. You also can't go wrong with their Panang, Pad Thai, or Pad Bamee. I have had co-workers order various dishes from Thai Noodles, as well, and they rave about it. Quick service, piping hot food, extremely delicious! You're missing out if you pass this place up!

Just love this place! Ordered the seafood pho after working on house projects all weekend. Didn't want the go-to pizza which always stinks up the car for a week. Healthy, hearty, delicious food at a great price. This really made my day go from hangry to happy. Folks there are helpful and friendly.
Easy carryout options for people on the go.
