A little disappointed in the "full rack" of ribs. Maybe a full rack from a teacup pig. They were decent. The fried pickles were good. Flat fries were alright as well. Our server and hostess were great - very friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was nice. We'll give 'er another try in the future.

The appetizers were incredibly disappointing. The $14 blueberry bruschetta was nothing more that four tiny slices of toast with an excess amount of jam. The onion rings were gross too. Onions cut far to thick too; and the batter soaked up entirely too much grease. Our sandwiches were tasty, but small. But the fries here are fantastic. The bathrooms were completely remodeled and clean. Clean bathrooms usually means a clean kitchen. Plus the service was fast and the waitress was attentive.

My brother heard through the grapevine there was a new chef/owner and had to try it out. We were pleasantly surprised on the refresh on the inside. Everything’s bright and clean with an upbeat vibe. The old fashions were good (I requested mine not be muddled and was not judged😆) The prime rib was fantastic. My brother had the linguine was also fantastic. Service was good all of the staff were friendly and efficient, we enjoyed our evening. Will be going back to try the rest of the menu.

This is a typical Oshkosh corner bar but with a huge restaurant attached!! We ate at the bar and the food was excellent!! The broccoli salad is amazing. Beef stroganoff- very good. I’m from Florida so I’m not sure what was going on but every person in the bar (except us) was doing some sort of dice game where they slam something down on the bar in a super aggressive and loud manor! It might’ve been fun if we had been invited!!

Not sure where to start. It was all very strange experience. I heard so many good things but for it being a slow night- everything took forever. We had to grab our own drinks off the tray. The appetizer (Jalapeños one) was lacking them. We put our order in and 25 mins later comes out asking who ordered perch. Said they were out / and seconds later they brought our food out. It seemed they accidentally made two haddock’s and just said they were out when they made the wrong plate. It was odd. Everything was overcooked. Burgers, chicken and even the fish. It wasn’t even busy. Unsure what happened.

Had lunch with my sister here. Looking for something new and different in Oshkosh and this place exceeded expectations. Had the Grouper for lunch. The food was great! The beer batter is so light and the flat fries very unique. The chef stopped by and when asked, told us how the batter was made. Very impressed! Highly recommend this restaurant! PS: Don't forget the mixed soft drinks .. they look yummy but I missed seeing them on the menu. Can't wait to go back and try one.

The food was very good when we got the right food. They are definitely having new restaurant issues but I am sure it will get better. We will go back in a month or two after they get things ironed out.we have been back two more times and our food has been excellent every time but they still need to work on their service. wow! GREAT EXPERIENCE TOP TO BOTTOM! we (group of 4) walked in and had our eyes set on bar spots- it was almost fully loaded but 2 lovely patrons asked if they could move so we could all fit- it was generous and cool and showed what the people around here are like. we all sat down and were prompted with a smile and happy welcome by ashley bartending! 2 of the 4 in our group went to UWO for college yearrrrrs ago so it was awesome to see a new spot to try. ashley was the best! she gave us her faves and helped us decide on the best of the best on the menu. (which was everything on the menu) we all had different entrees and couldn’t even wait until we got in the car to start this review- EXCELLENCE! start to finish we ate, we drank and we left merrier than we were when we came! thank you 1890 and ashley for showing us a badass lunch among best friends! keep up the great work! can’t wait to get back!

I wish I could tell you the food was good but I didn't get to try the food. We were seated at a table and every waitress ignored us. It was as if they were trying not to make eye contact with us. The person at the table next to us, went to the bar to talk to a friend and Our waitress had enough time to go get that person in the bar and bring them back to their table. We sat there long enough to witness this whole encounter whilewe were being ignored. We weren't even offered water. We got up and left. We will not be back.

First time here and I doubt we'll be back. The food was delicious but the service was terrible. After sitting for a bit, we finally had to ask for a waitress. She took our drink and dinner order then didn't come back until we were done eating and gave us the bill. Someone else came over to ask if we needed drinks or water. We even had to go to the bar ourselves get a refill on soda. It seemed if you weren't sitting in a booth or close a booth, you were ignored.

Food was amazing first time there last night. Definitely will be back. Tina the bartender was amazing the other one needs a little more training. Sat in the bar to eat cause it had a great atmosphere and not to bright. Hope in the future the dining room gets a little makeover and the lights a little more dim so that too can be inviting. I know you guys are brand new so it's probably in the works. The Monte Cristo and the Cuban were both stellar. The sides also amazing!!! Keep up the great food!!!!!

Stopped in for lunch ordered a Paramount Burger with the flat fries and an order of onion rings as an appetizer. The burgers were delicious and cooked perfectly to our liking. The flat fries are great and the onion rings are fantastic, you can actually tasty the real onion and the breading was light and crisp. Our table service was fine our service issue was when we entered the building we stood in the foyer and waited to be seated but the only associate there was the bartender who basically ignored us. When we interrupted his busy work asking if we could be seated we were gruntingly directed to the restaurant. Overall good food and a good dining experience.

Sarah was a fantastic server. She was very attentive and was nice to talk with. The food portions are phenomenal. The New York Strip Gorgonzola Linguini lasted for 4 meals for my Mom. My Kentucky Hot Brown lasted for 3 meals between my husband and I. The flat fries and Zucchini chips were so tasty. Can't wait to go back. There are so many options to choose from. The choices are so different from other restaurants. This is like getting a gourmet meal at a local pub.

I had the great pleasure of dining at the 1890 Pub and Bistro last night. What a great meal! There were four members of our party and all had a great experience. Open for only a few weeks, they truly have the potential to be a great restaurant. The menu is not the same-old, same old. Each item is an excellent enhancement on the traditional. I and the other three members of our party had difficulty choosing - everything sounded terrific. We all ended up choosing a different dish. All were spectacular. (I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu over Mac ‘n Cheese.). And to top it off, the prices were very reasonable. We expressed our pleasure to our waitress and met the Chef and Sous Chef. Great folks!

Take the opposite to try the 1890 Pub and Bistro. I’m sure it will become one of your favorites as it is ours!

I want to start by saying that the food was FANTASTIC. 11/10 for both items I ordered and same for those my friend ordered. I started with the fried pickles and she started with the blueberry goat cheese bruschetta, both were super good. For my entree I got the Kentucky Hot Brown Sandwich and the sauce on it is to die for. We even saw the chef come out and seat a table while the waitresses were busy which is awesome.

The drinks on the other hand, they need some work on making them quicker (I got my appetizer BEFORE I got my simple lemonade mocktail (blushing belle)) and it wasn’t what I ordered and tasted like plain lemon water (I ordered it with strawberry and there was none). Keep in mind we were there at 12 pm and there was barely anyone at the bar and only us and one other table.

Our service was the only reason I gave them 4 stars. Our waitress was great, she might have been a little new to waitressing but she was lovely. The bar is where our service lacked. We walked in and the bartender was near the host stand, we didn’t get a hello and he asked how he could help us. He then grabbed two menus and just started walking away, no “you can follow me”. When we got into the restaurant areas, he shoved the menus into our waitress’ hands and walked away without another word. This plays in to how our drinks were not up to par.

Definitely try 1890 bistro, and hopefully your drink experience is better than ours. The food is more than enough of a reason to try!!

Today a group of 14 or more ladies showed up for lunch. They had not been notified of our arrival and just took it in stride and got tables ready for us.I had the Monte Cristo sandwich with sweet potato fries. There was no honey butter for the fries and I would suggest you look into this.The food was absolutely perfect and very very tasty and To add to the good food our waitress Megan was fabulous.She took it all in stride and did not lose her cool with 14 individual lunch tickets.

Generally a bad experience. The food did taste good, not a single order at our table had complaints about quality. However there were many many easily fixable issues that compounded into an extremely disappointing evening.
-servers seemed understaffed, when we were finally approached we were told our server was very busy so this person was going to get our order to help her out. But we never ended up having another person approach the table.
-As we were ordering I was informed they were sold out of the grouper (the only seafood entree) because they had run out the day before.
-we ordered 2 drinks, 4 waters, and 2 appetizers. Waters were forgotten and we had to flag down another staff to get them. One appetizer was brought out at the same time as one person’s entree, and as it was delivered the chef walked by and told the server they had the wrong table for that entree. The dish was left at the table for several minutes anyway before we again flagged down staff to say this wasn’t our order. We were missing our second appetizer and we still needed extra plates to share the one appetizer we got.
The chef brought out the correct prime rib order to replace the mistaken one previously delivered and asked if the rest of the table ordered any entrees. He seemed frustrated and we really appreciated the chef taking the time to attempt to correct the errors going on.
-we had to flag down a server for a steak knife and the wrapped silverware was spotty and dirty looking, just needed to be polished before rolled. This was all before the rest of the 3 entrees were served.
-the server ended up taking off our appetizers and apologized as she dropped the bill, which I did appreciate but seemed far too late to make a difference in the experience. I made sure to tip the chef as well as the server because he seemed to be the only one trying to actively solve issues.

Would have appreciated any kind of management to stop by to check in or any acknowledgment of the issues happening before the bill was presented.

We will not be back and regret not choosing a different restaurant for Father’s Day celebration.

We got our orders taken . They brought out the prime rib out before they brought out our waters or drinks …. Or even appetizers. Then realized they brought out the wrong order. Took away the prime rib. Then I had to ask some random waitress if we can have some water. Long story short short . The cook had to bring out our food because the waitress was too busy texting. Probably won’t be coming back.
