Description

Joe and Paul Bartolotta grew up in a traditional Italian family in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Along with siblings, Maria and Felicia, they enjoyed large gatherings centered around unbelievably good food and plenty of love. In 1993, Joe and Paul collaborated to realize their dream of creating signature restaurants in Milwaukee. Paying homage to the family name, Ristorante Bartolotta opened in March of 1993.

Over the next two decades, The Bartolotta Restaurants added a variety of fine dining and casual concepts to its portfolio. Joe, Paul and The Bartolotta Restaurants family will continue to grow their lineup of distinguished Southeastern Wisconsin venues.

Disappointed Despite the Beautiful View

The view at The Bartolotta Restaurant was fantastic, but unfortunately, the service was shockingly poor. After ordering drinks, we asked where we could sit and were told we could either sit by the water (self-serve) or upstairs where there is full service. We chose to sit at a lower patio area, assuming it was fine since we had just ordered.

A server then rudely approached us and told us we couldn’t sit there because it was “for patio customers only”—as if we weren’t customers ourselves after already placing a drink order. The way we were spoken to was very disrespectful and completely uncalled for.

It left a sour taste in our mouths, and we felt the entire experience was overrated. My wife and I will not return, which is unfortunate given the high expectations and our large European delegation present in Milwaukee.

Went to an event Bartolottas catered and bartended, it was delicious and service was incredible. Tim the bartender was a joy! He was the cherry on top of a lovely evening

We went to the restaurant in Brookfield for our 5:30 reservation. Things were quite busy when we arrived but we were seated immediately. The waiter raved about the 40 day aged Kansas City steak. When dinning out and aged steak is offered, I usually order it and can not remember being disappointed. However, this steak qualified as one of the toughest pieces of meat I thing I've ever had. My wife had a pasta dish which she was quite disappointed with. I tried it, and said it was tasteless which she said was her same opinion.

Our food was served by someone different in the wait staff. The service became less and less as the time wore on. It appeared that our waiter was tending to other tables in a very large area of the restaurant. He never returned to our table again for the rest of the evening.

I'm extremely disappointed in Bartolotta's as they have a big name reputation that they are incapable of providing. I don't mind spending $175 for cocktails and dinner. HOWEVER, it wont be at Bartolottas again.

I am not very happy with their business practices. We placed a down payment for a wedding reception at discovery world. The reception was to take place in 2020. Due to Covid everything was shut down. After several attempts of calling for a refund, we got the runaround. We were told we would have to schedule another date, which was not conducive for us. After several calls and no callbacks, we are out of 8000+ dollars. The only excuse we were given is that the industry suffered a great loss during Covid-19 and to refund the money would be a strain on the business. We are now forced to seek legal counsel. Please think twice about using their service for catering. There are other places in the area that do it at a higher level. If I had to do it all over again I would use Saint Kates.

I and my husband had an incredible experience at Bartolotta. We were visiting Milwaukee for our babymoon and we found this place. We love experiencing 5-7 course meal in new restaurants every time we travel and Bartolotta has to be the best we have experienced so far! The ambience was peaceful, we were seated next to the window with an amazing view. Our host was graceful and our foods were top notch! Every item in their course was delish. We will go there again for a romantic date night when we visit WI in future :)

On 12/1/21 we dined at Mr. B’s in Mequon. It was a very relaxing, delightful experience. Our server, Brook, was attentive to our every need. We recommend you try this restaurant for your next special occasion.

My son’s wedding at the Grain Exchange last weekend was beyond beautiful! The room was jaw dropping and exceeded all expectations.

Everyone (and I do mean everyone) raved about the food. The meat trio of wild boar, venison and filet was a huge hit but the whitefish was to die for. The risotto was shared since the portions were so large. I heard there was swapping and sharing at almost every table. The food was hot and the service was excellent. Hats off to your incredible staff.

This wedding was a joy to plan because I was dealing with consummate professionals. The only surprise was that there were NO surprises. Thank you for a magical evening.

here is the bad deal about Bartolotta's......we had a $100 gift card for Bartolottas" reataurants. We chose Cafe Grace..(advertised as Bartolotta's) and the .bill came to $92.00 plus tip and we were told that our card was not usable there. So we had to shell out $110.00 which was a big hurt on our budget. Difficult to understand when Bartolotta's name is the attraction and yet it is not them at all. There should be a sign on the door explaining this before going in.....steamed and feels sneaky!! So be warned when it comes to the Bartolotta's restaurants at the Mayfair Collection.
