Charming and cozy spot nestled right in Kohler! Their food and wine is phenomenal and the staff is attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend making a stop here for a tasting or flight of their wine. Love their Sauv Blanc!

This restaurant is legit. Wonderful service and amazing food. Jessica did an amazing job and we were so full leaving, we had to crawl to the car. Menu is as diverse as it is delicious. Great bourbon and wine selections. We will be back!

I was excited to stop in for a flight. The property looks gorgeous online! However, the reception was unwelcoming. We had to catch the bartender’s eye ( although it was not at all busy). I asked whether we might take our flights into the deck. The bartender asked the hostess, and she seemed perturbed by the question for some reason (and without explanation). It left us with the sense that we were not welcome there. And while the wine tasted good, our reception had left a bad taste in our mouths.

I came here with my 2 sisters to enjoy an afternoon. The gentleman working the bar in the tasting room didn’t seem to be pleased I didn’t place an order when I told him I was the designated driver. The woman behind the bar with short, brown hair in the tasting room was less than friendly and frankly, was rude.
Their attitudes really set the ‘tone’ for an unimpressive visit. We won’t be back.

5 of us stopped in for a tasting and to sit on the patio and enjoy a glass of wine on a beautiful summer day. Everyone was amazing and so friendly. It is a very classy place but also perfectly casual on the patio. We would definitely recommend this place.

Rachel was our server. She is one amazing worker. 6 of us, first time there, had a wonderful time. We got the vip treatment with that wine room.
She was friendly, professional, and fun. She went above separating the bills and even split the birthday girls meal that we all pitch in for. And the food was fabulous. We each ordered something different and we all loved each meal. We will defiantly go back.

Very inexperienced staff. We ordered a $200 bottle of wine and the server poured the wine without asking to taste it.(I thought the blind horse was a winery) In addition she opened it at the table When there were no wine glasses.. I felt like I was on her schedule. She didn’t go over the specials, she served steak with butter knife. The sharing plates for a very good wedge salad were way too small. It didn’t even occur to her that that was an issue. management has their staff untrained. It was a special occasion, and this left me underwhelmed I won’t be back.

Finally!!! A winery that has wine selections that are not all fruity and sweet. Loved all the selections we tried, both red and white. Sauv Blanc and Cab were excellent! Service was great (but was not busy). Brie and fig pizza was the perfect light lunch complement to the wine! Great setting - we will be back.

I would never recommend or go to the Blind Horse, terrible , just terrible service and lack of respect, we called months before for a reservation , they confirmed it, we called the day of the reservation 3 times to make sure our specific reservation was set, we arrived on time and they moved our reservation and told us they could not accommodate us, this happened 2 times now, no apologies, no explanation , no nothing , the owners would not talk to us , it was a unbelievable bad experience, we will never go back.

We decided to check out the Blind Horse Winery on our way into Sheboygan this past Sunday. I didn’t catch his name but whoever was working the wine bar was phenomenal. We came in with our parents and three little kids and he was beyond accommodating. I’ve never felt so welcomed anywhere with my children. He brought out water with lids and breadsticks for them to munch on without us even asking for either. The atmosphere was lovely, the music was amazing, and the wine was great but the service stood out by far. Thank You!

We shared the 4 lamb dumplings for our starter. They were tasty but overpriced. The salmon tower was delicious and fresh. The pancetta wrapped scallops were cooked beautifully but the sage cream corn was very disappointing. The corn was tired and tasted like it came from a can. Unacceptable when fresh corn is currently in season.

Had a great dinner tonight. Rachel was an outstanding server and was determined to make sure our meal was perfect. Our steaks came out overcooked and were immediately rectified with new ones. And they gave us a couple glasses of wine off the bill even though we insisted it was unnecessary. The meal was fantastic.

The food, drinks, and servers were great! The restaurant is very cute and worth the drive. The major downside of the night for us were the incredibly unpleasant chairs. I’ll never understand not wanting customers to be comfortable and relaxed. Sitting on wood planks made our legs numb and we would have stayed far longer while getting more drinks and desserts but we couldn’t take it any longer. We were only one of the three occupied tables, so I imagine keeping us longer during the rush hour would have been desirable for the business. I can’t imagine people who aren’t in shape and the feeling of discomfort they would have. Let’s make a wise business decision and keep the customers racking up that bill, huh? I’d gladly come back!

So, for my birthday dinner, my wife and I moseyed over to Blind Horse (thank you Google) and let me tell ya, it was something else. I tucked into a grilled mahi mahi entrée with pineapple salsa and coconut rice. The flavors? Oh, they were immense, perfectly balanced, and seasoned like your grandma's best Sunday roast. The mahi mahi? Nothing short of spectacular - pure perfection.
And then there were the bacon-wrapped scallops. Three of ‘em, each garnished with greens and zest that could make a salad blush. They were so good, I am still dreaming about them. My drink? A special strawberry old fashioned that was so tasty and expertly crafted, it made me wanna write a thank-you note to the bartender's mom.
Now, my better half had the short rib risotto with a side of mushrooms. She called it the best comfort food ever, and this woman knows her comfort food, trust me. Hats off to the chef and the bartender, and let’s not forget the cherry on top of this sundae – our server, Makayla. She was an absolute delight and made our night truly special and memorable. Thank you!

2.5 stars - the scenery is great. No better place to sit outside when it’s summer & enjoy a drink. The problem w this place has always been the service. Last night we waited 20 mins for our first drink & then waited another 15 mins for our second. And it was not busy. The food is good - sometimes it’s excellent and other times not so much. This place just lacks consistency.

The food is decent but the level of service does not align. If you’re going to spend this kind of money there are far better local experiences. Examples: brings everyone but one person a plate for appetizers. Failure to remember what people ordered. Forgot items that were ordered, when asked about items ordered mistreated customers for asking. Customer miss pronounced a menu item then server rudely corrected and also pronounced it incorrectly. Finally, bill arrives while server announced gratuity was included and giggles. The group of customers treated the server with courtesy and respect, but the whole thing felt very intentional and I will never go back.

I just want to start off by saying my fiancé and I have been coming here for years, and my first time was 10 years ago. We had dinner last night 11/17, and everything was fine at first. Other than every single table around us complaining of wait times, and bad service. Immediately made me nervous. However we ordered a bottle of wine and the service was fantastic. We didn’t mind waiting over an hour for our food because even at that wait it’s still usually worth it. HOWEVER, we both would have rather went to McDonald’s than eat what we were served. The server was very nervous giving us our $180.00 dollar check and basically ran away before I could tell her what was wrong. Paid the bill and probably will NEVER be back. Very pretty scenery. Bourbon barn was closed. Patio and wine area open. Taste testers are not very chatty and just move you through your wine list quickly. Very sales based experience. Wines are ok. Overpriced but considering the area of Kohler it makes sense. Just ok overall besides the atmosphere outside walking the grounds.

Last night (7/13/23) was my first time eating at the Blind Horse. I went with a colleague, who is from the east coast and who has eaten at the Blind horse on several of his business trips to Sheboygan County. He has always raved about the food and service and he wasn’t wrong. The food was excellent and the service was even better. The waitress was outstanding. From the time we sat down till the time we left, she made sure that we enjoyed every moment of our visit. It is clear why the Blind Horse is the best restaurant in Sheboygan County.

We went here to celebrate our special day and are so glad we did! We both got the filet mignon and am so happy with how it turned out. I'm wanting to go back for another soon, ha.
The food was to die for, the steak was the best I've ever had, very flavorful. The parsnip puree went very well with it, as well!
For apps, we had the cream of asparagus soup and bruschetta board (1, 4, 5 - 5, the tenderloin was the best one, wish I had gotten that for all three choices, ha). Everything was perfection.
The service was wonderful, our waitress was attentive, friendly, and very kind! We are pleased with the service.

We went to bathrrom outside first and women's room was a complete mess. We went to the Bourbon bar, but no idea how to serve a classic old fashion. The first attempt I sent back, 2nd one wasn't much better. We ordered crab cakes and they were under cooked. We then to the wine bar.and the two women were overwhelmed. Took slightly over 20 minutes to even acknowledge us. The saving grace was the restaurant. The halibut was amazing. I went back to the restroom and needless to.say no one had cleaned it. I even found toilet paper and put it out. When we left I mentioned bathroom to restaurant manager and she said oh no, those are meant for staff. WTH... so it is okay for staff to have nssty bathrooms. In summaru, if mot for resturant experience, this would be a 1.

We were so excited to try this restaurant for a date night, but my husband and I were pretty disappointed. We have never experienced such bad service for an expensive restaurant. The wine was good, the food was pretty good (highly recommend the goat cheese curds) but the service was bad and just inattentive. Similar to another review, we also had a server who seemed to be under the influence. While we still got our food, it was a bit of a time crunch since my order was put in wrong yet still appeared on our bill. We would‘ve considered going back again in the summer to enjoy a glass of wine, but not anymore after reading other reviews. For the price you pay, it is absolutely NOT worth it for the service.

The first visit I made was to the winery. Amy and Jacob were great, Jacob very knowledgeable about their wines and the history of the place.
Pino Noir was light and a bit tart for what I like for a Pino but still very good.
Sangiovese was my favorite. Full body, bold and balanced.
Second visit was to the restaurant a different day. Atmosphere is nice and cozy. Fireplace is a nice touch. Seating not very comfortable but that’s a lot of places with wooden chairs.
Meal:
Lamb dumplings 🥟: 3 come in a serving. Sauces were very good.
Pickled beet salad. Very light and flavorful.
Bread: I always look forward to bread any restaurant I go to. I feel it’s a classic staple that should never be overlooked. Their Herb Butter was delicious and paired well with their homemade bread, soft in the middle and crispy outside crust.
Dinner: walleye: cooked perfectly. Not fishy at all. However, A bit too much salt. Spread was very spicy. I didn’t mind it but for anyone who doesn’t like spicy you won’t like this dish. Maybe ask for a non spicy sauce spread instead. Potato’s a bit undercooked. Contains cashews for those who have nut allergies. This dish also contains sausage which was a nice touch. All said, this dish was full of flavor! Each bite is a different experience and made the whole dish enjoyable.
Would definitely visit again, hopefully when it’s warm and can enjoy the wine patio on a warm sunny day.

I did not realize we had to make a reservation online for restaurant. But, when I arrived at around 3:30pm, I spoke to a kitchen staff member who told me. Also, when I saw the hours, I thought that applied to winery and restaurant. But, nope. They are different. Further, menu on maps not same as when we got there; changed. Out of the Moscato, too. The Birdy's red was phenomenal and I purchased the cab and I am sure it will be good. The ambiance was great, but, very small portions in restaurant. The food was good. But, in the future, I would just have a few drinks there. The service was good, too.

Unique and delicious mains of walleye, salmon and smashburgers, however we found the portions to be very small (especially the walleye) in comparison to their price. The restaurant's main downfall was dessert (French silk pie) which was unacceptably dry to the point where we could not even saw through the pastry with a knife - certainly not freshly prepared. Service was great nonetheless, and the restaurant itself is nice and quaint. Unfortunately not somewhere we'd likely consider revisiting ahead of other restaurants in the area.

I've eaten here 3 other times. We brought another couple celebrating their anniversary may I say the service was very good, and I was glad to see Blind Horse busy on Tues night. This comment is in reference to the small, very small portions of the main meal. The food itself was topshelf, a creative mix of art and flavors. Two of us ordered the canadian walleye, and the pieces were very small, as were the sauteed greens. Potatoes are inexpensive, maybe more than 5-6 pieces. Our group had ordered two appetizers to split, goat cheese curds and an asparagus dish. So glad we did. One person had the scallops, they were perfection, (4 large ones), that was a much better choice. We love the food, atmosphere, and wines, but people should be aware of the very small portions here. Be sure to get the bread and herbed butter.

This place is very cool, a beautiful property. For a party of 4 we had an appetizer, bottle of wine, 2 pizzas and 4 drinks. The food was good. The service was poor. We asked for water twice, only got 2/4. Had to ask for napkins, never got silverware, had to ask for an ordered drink a second time, one pizza came out 10 mins before the other. Waitress asked us if we got our second pizza, LOL. Then she went to the kitchen to get it. The band was great, but way too loud for a dining environment. Will absolutely go there again, just hoping for an even better experience considering the prices.

First and last time I will go there. Drove 50 minutes to try it. Musician for the patio was a no show. Out of their special salads by 5:30 pm. Service slow despite being not that busy. Drinks were not well made and weak. More to complain about but why bother.

What an amazing find. Just moved to the area. We will be back for sure. Pizza was delicious. Tessa was the best waitress I have had in years. Best work ethic I have seen. Can't wait to come back to listen to the live music.

Spectacular atmosphere. They were out of the only healthy dish on the menu, the Ahi tuna salad. They appeared to be shorthanded since the service was quite slow. We left before we ordered, which was about 15 minutes from walking in the door since a number of tables appeared to be waiting to order as well.

This is a dinner only review. We didn’t have a chance to visit winery. Stars for location (easy to get too), wine, and cheese. Outside of that completely disappointing. Service was slow and low energy and food was extremely average. I had high expectations and would stop back in for a drink, but can not recommend dinner.

We were in town from Indianapolis, IN and decided to celebrate our 14 year anniversary here at The Blind Horse. The bruschetta was the BEST part. Pino Noir was soooo great, plus our waitress was sweet and very informative. Highly recommended

Simply outstanding! The wines are truly "Napa" quality, and my friend and I commented to the staff that the Blind Horse felt like a California winery. Crystal was an excellent pourer and guide to the different wines, and I truly never tasted a bad one. After splitting a case, we joined my wife on the patio for a wonderful late lunch. The food (flat bread pizzas and the best cheese curds that I've ever had) was delicious, and the service from Tessa was attentive and excellent. From the gorgeous grounds, to the delicious food, outstanding wines, and friendly, excellent service, we have found a favorite! Cannot wait until our next visit!

Went there today for the Suday brunch and got there at 1:15 and brunch goes until 2;:00. All the brunch entries were sold out. We were only able to get the cheese curds and we split a gourmet burger and some glasses of wine. Cheese curds were great! They were out of the Hooks cheese as advertised on the menu for the burger and substituted some bland shredded cheese. The burger was gray matter with a tomatto slice on a stale bun. Have had fast food burgers that were way better and not $15. Wine was good but the burger, curds and wine set us back $70. Would have expected way more from this gourmet restaurant. Will not be back again.

My dad called ahead to get reservations at the main restaurant and was told they were booked but if we showed up early enough to sit at the bar, we could eat at the bar instead. We showed up shortly before they opened and the staff member told him we would not be able to eat at the bar (no one else was even there yet!).
We opted to eat at the Patio portion of the restaurant instead. Our waitress was wonderful and the jalapeño app delicious. However our entrees lacked seasoning and were absolutely bland. Not worth the one hour drive and price.
To boot, they had a “country band” that consisted of 2 singers singing along to pre-recorded music aka karaoke. It was awful.
Overall not a great experience. Giving 3 stars only because of the wonderful waitress, good appetizer, and pleasing atmosphere.

Fantastic location with an atmosphere you don’t find often in Wisconsin. The staff is talented and friendly and our service was quick. Their selection of wines had something for everyone. My daughter Ciara and I had another wonderful night at the Blind Horse. We met the owner Mr. Moeller and was served by Lisa the bartender and Brittany our waitress. We discovered this wonderful place about six years ago and have gone back every year on our yearly trip to the American club. Tonight was no exception, we experienced wonderful service and the staff was very inviting and made us feel at home. This is the reason we keep coming back. It’s a fun, friendly, inviting atmosphere plus it has delicious food and drinks.

Wine tasting 👎wines were just ok. No knowledge of wines presented by Ingrid. We were the only 2 people in the winery.. She walked away after each pour to talk to I assume a poor manager. Birdie Red was my favorite. Proceeded to the patio. No drinks from winery allowed out there.. Emily was pleasant. Ordered a glass of Birdie Red and we were told they were out of Birdie red out there. 🤔Had a Mule it was good. Tried the tacos and parmesan fries. Horrible way too salty. 👎What's the point of trying a wine but, not being able to have a glass? Let's just say it would take alot of convincing to bring me back...other stops in the area far more worth the money and time spent at the Blind Horse. So disappointing I had wanted to stop for years and finally got the opportunity 😪.

Beautiful backyard atmosphere with flowers and outdoor bar. You couldn't take your drinks you bought inside out to the outside or the drinks you bought outside into the building. But it was a nice spot to sit and relax. The pretzel we ordered was good, not great and the cheese sauce was ok. Good wine. The sweet peach and blueberry wines are delicious.

A-OK is a good way for me to describe my experience. By all means, it was nice and I'd go back in a heartbeat. But nothing about the experience really stood out.
They offer wine by the glass, wine tastings, wine + cheese tastings, and wine + chocolate tastings. Something for everyone!
The bartender was friendly. She did a great job telling us about the wine and some of the history of the place. Wine was tasty.
Nice place - just nothing stood out that really wow'd me.

RESTAURANT REVIEW:
This fine restaurant would fit right in at the high end of the Portland foodie scene! Delectable food; outstanding cocktails, and pleasant attentive service. The scallops rivaled any you will find along the coast. The fish had an exquisitely spiced flavor.
Being this good comes with the downside of high popularity; reservations highly recommended. Strongly recommend.

2021 WINERY REVIEW:
Possibly one of the top three wineries in Wisconsin (alongside Wollersheim and Captain’s Walk). The winery impressed so much that I joined their wine club (the only other wine club I’m in is one of the premier Willamette Valley wineries - but it takes longer to visit there from Wisconsin).
The winemakers’ passion is evident in the superb quality of their wines. Their 2017 Dam Sire red scored a well earned 93 points, while their newly released 2016 GSM excelled at 94 points (I went home with half a case of both). Both these two favorites are drinking well now and the GSM might benefit slightly from 2-3 years bottle cellaring.
I will obviously return.

If I could review with no stars I would. Worst restaurant experience ever. Table ordered two pizzas and 3 orders of tacos. The pizza arrived and tacos never did. The waiter disappeared and the manager after an hour said our order was lost. Might have believed it but the same excuse was given to the table next to us. Horrible and expensive experience, would never recommend this restaurant. Stay away

I know that many people in this town love this place But, here's my take on it.
My husband made reservations for my Birthday three days before for 6:45
We get here and sat at the bar until 7:10.
Finally got sat and the server (Emily)
seemed more interested in the table across from us. I think she thought because there were more people at that table, the bigger the tip.
Stupid Girl, We are Huge Mistake.
My overall opinion of The Blind 🐎. If you are going to charge Astronomical prices Be noce

I loved this place. What a fantastic atmosphere and menu! Classy and rustic.
My Fiance and I had a last minute date night and ended up getting to this place about 30 minutes before they closed. Despite the fact we went there so late, the staff was so friendly and accommodating that we didn't even feel like the only ones in the dining room).
The entree selections are unique and fairly priced for the quality and portions. The same thing goes for the cocktails.
We opted to get a couple of their Smash Burgers with truffle fries, and some lamb dumplings. 4 dumplings doesn't seems like enough, but they were extremely delicious!
The burgers and fries surpassed expectations. If you've ever been to Culver's, think of The Blind Horse Smash Burger as a premium gourmet Double Deluxe.
I'll definitely be coming back eventually (earlier of course), and I will get that Canadian Walleye!... And sample some wine too!

“NOT Cigar Friendly”
Two years ago prior to COVID-19 the patio at the Blind Horse was one of only a handful of venues that allowed cigar smoking then during Covid they abruptly did an about face without any notice and banned cigar smoking. Now that Covid is not an issue I contacted the venue to confirm that cigar smoking would once again be allowed. I was assured that it was not a problem I even visited the venue earlier in the week during the lunch hour and had no issues smoking a cigar on the patio. I just had dinner and drinks very expensive but worth it for the ambience. Being the courteous cigar smoker that I am I waited till later in the evening and even removed myself to the furthest corner of the patio before I lit up my favorite indulgence halfway through a relaxing smoke I was approached by a waitress not even our waitress and was told that the manager wanted me to leave the patio and be exiled to a tent in the parking lot where I would be allowed to smoke my cigar. When I informed her that I had spoken to somebody about the policy and was told it was OK she snapped “then I need the name of that girl who told you that or do I need to go get the manager” after extinguishing my cigar and paying our tab I approached the manager of the patio and inquired about the official policy concerning cigar smoking and she could not give me a definitive answer and said she would ask her boss when she returned I was informed that their official policy is NOW that cigar smoking is not allowed.
When I asked why the policy was changed I was told that customers were complaining.Funny I thought I was a customer.
Very poorly handled and discriminative towards cigar smokers.
A real shame it was such an enjoyable venue that I raved about to friends family and visitors to the area which I can no longer in good conscience continue to do. So sad. Discrimination is so ugly and I refuse to be “canceled”
